To find ultimate Serenity. To find one's goal within the world, hell, to even find what one could do in the meantime while trying to figure it out...these were questions that Satoshi had always wanted answers to. Without purpose, what was anything in the world? Just something taking up space for something that could actually have meaning. Leaves fell from trees after they had died off, and trees tip over when their run is over. But before all of this, hundreds and millions are created to form a perfect bond of unity that nothing could break. All of them individually had slight meaning, but meaning nonetheless. However, what did you get when you had put all of these things together to form something far greater then anything could comprehend? You would quite simply get a perfect balance of interconnected workings that allowed the world to rotate as it always had, oblivious to anything else other then its own meaning. As much as this kind of existence had always disgusted Satoshi, it happened regardless. Satoshi had always wanted to see a world where everything knew its place. Where everything knew what it could do, and could work together to expand beyond its own personal world. Soul reapers had believed their soul purpose was to protect, and Hollow's had believed their soul purpose was to feast. But what if something beyond that could be achieved? That is what Satoshi had wanted to know. What if, the world was more then how even we had perceived it? Human's could not possibly comprehend more then what they already see daily, but yet the objects that are not understandable to them, are completely within our own grasp.
Inch low tracks had been left where Satoshi's sandles had flopped through grass and mud. The jungle's had a slight drizzle touching the forest floor, the trees and coverage greatly reducing the amount that had actually come through. This had made it absolutely wonderful for a perfect little stroll through it. With all the madness that always went through Satoshi's head, he found it very calming to walk through a forest. A place where everything worked in harmony with no hurry at all, yet everything was accomplished just how it needed to be. The Shinigami's split personality had made it difficult to control his anger, but he always found the ultimately blissful serenity of these walks to be a proverbial reset button for him. However, this was not Satoshi's only goal at this moment in time. His black cloak, stained with dirt and blood, was going to see far more stains in the near presence of the Shinigami. He was out here to increase his own strength, as well as increase his Sanity. He felt as every shred of information and control over his body he retained, his mind gained that much more serenity. However, he was never actually quite sure if this peace at mind was indefinite, as there hasn't been a moment in time in quite a while that he had to test that theory. Satoshi's extensive blade had bobbed in every which way, signalling the weight of this blade.
The Shinigami had trained in many ways before. He had trained in an Academy when his days of being a Shinigami were much more minuscule. He had trained with an unidentified master in the Dojo to increase his abilities. Hell, he had even punched stones before to strengthen his fists for further hand to hand training, and to condition himself for fights to come. But today, Satoshi was going to let nature take its course. Slipping off the sort of sash that was holding his Zanpakuto, he had caught the blade falling into the dirty grass, and used his left hand to balance it across his shoulders as he neatly folded the sash into a square, that was longer then it was wider, and then tossed into a branch to avoid getting it more messy then he had to. He despised having to clean his uniform every day, and was quite frankly a dirty person in general.
A branch snapped. 'Perfect' he thought. This was exactly what he wanted, as he had purposely walked far enough into the wilderness to come across things just as dangerous as himself. Well, not quite as dangerous, but equally as primal and instinctive driven. At that moment, a moderately large animal came out of the woods, and he had identified it as a bear. It was brown, quite sizable compared to his own structure, but had not yet noticed him. He took notice of the wind blowing toward Satoshi when he faced the creature, so he noted that the bear had not quite picked up his scent yet. Leaning his Odachi against the tree of which the sash was on, he had then took a combat stance, and sent a sturdy punch into the bark of the tree, purposely marking. He sent about 3 more punches in a radius all around the tree in a perfect, as to see it from any direction. However, he pitied the tree. He had heard somewhere that bark was the only source of resources going into the tree, so he knew that stripping it in a circle was most likely going to kill it off. Although he never fancied a relationship with any other conscious being in quite some time, he found himself slightly sad of such a creation being wasted. But this sadness was very instantly forgotten when he realized what he had came here to do in the first place.
The bear had noticed him with the very first punch he had sent flying toward the tree. He had noticed his hands were a bit sore after that, but the previous conditioning of his fists before ever stepping foot in this jungle had allowed him to mentally numb the pain, and his physical body to handle more then a couple of basic tree punches. The bear had began to rear its back legs in attack, and Satoshi got in a stance to do the same. At that moment, a much bigger bear had emerged from the tree's behind the previous one. He could tell...this was daddy. Big kahoona, poppa long john. He was in for a fight now. With a bloodthirsty smirk on his face, he knew there was only one way to properly initiate this fight.
"LET'S GO, YOU GIANT SHITS."
The bear's roared in instant synchronicity and they both began to charge toward him. The smaller bear to the left, the bigger bear to the right as if it intelligently outflank him. But he was not going to allow this. With an offensive move of his own, Satoshi flash-stepped about 10 feet to the right of the smaller bear. Confused and dazed, the bears looked at the space he was in as if there was someone still standing there. However, due to their scent and superior hearing, the heard Satoshi re-appear in his now current position, but it was too late. Satoshi sent himself in an absolute sprint toward the bears, and once he was in distance, his right fist came dashing toward right beside the rib cage of the bear, as to hit its kidney. His left foot planted, and his body rotated allowed maximum momentum. The fist hit the bear, and it staggered a bit. Contrary to the painful thud sound it made against the bear, it didn't look like it did much damage, as the bear just simply roared in ferocity, turned, and sent a fast swipe of its claws towards his left arm. In alert, Satoshi quickly flash stepped as quickly as he could behind the bear. The bigger bear started to close the distance quite quickly in order to help the other creature out, but he could see it coming, and decided to act swiftly. With a simple, yet solid leg kick, he sent his shin toward's the bears back legs. The bear tried to turn at the same time he sent this kick, but his leg was faster. The back kick connected and the imbalance of the bear's stance had made the creature stumble sideways a bit onto it sides, and it quickly began to recover its stance. However, Satoshi was not finished with it. With a quick jump away from the bigger bear coming toward him, he had cocked both of his legs upward in the air, and then brought them down on the stomach of the bear that was struggling to regain its posture.
With a curdling mixture of a roar and scream, the bear yelped in pain as his entire weight and muscle strength was brought down onto the bear. He hopped off quickly, and used the bear as sort of a barricade against the bigger bear. The smaller bear began to regain its posture again, but clearly slower and with more weariness. With this added confusion to the bears, he began an incantation.
"Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south...HADO NUMBER FUCKING 31, SHAK-KA-HO"
His right hand shot up from its position next to his leg, and his left hand clamped onto his wrist wrist. He spoke this incantation as fast as he could, and it all sort of came out as a jumble as he had no time to focus on the words. He pointed his hand upward toward the bigger bear, and at this moment, a red ball of pure Kido energy began to form quickly in his hand. The bear looked dazed, and stared directly at this ball of light in confusion. Big mistake. Just as fast as it had appeared, the ball had shot directly toward the bear's head. With a sound half as loud as a cannon firing a cannonball, and very short shriek of energy, the ball shot out in a sort of miniature wave/beam of light, and connected with the face of the bear. It smacked it right in the center of its face, and the impact exploded with a big red and black 'BOOM'. The explosion was close enough to the smaller bear to connect with it as well, but not as large as the initial connection to the bear's face. The bear had reared back and began jumping up and down in pain and stumbling all over the forest floor in confusion. Clearly, he had hit the bear just in the right spot to not only damage it quite extensively, but blind it as well. The smaller bear was now up, with a slight burn mark under its belly. However, the smaller bear was now only in a rage as it had charged toward him. Satoshi was having too much to let this go to waste. A devilish laughter had filled the air as he began charging at the bear as well. However, this time it was different. The bear was much more ferocious, and had seemed to realize the situation a bit better. Right before Satoshi could get in close enough range, the bear had raised on both of its rear legs to show Satoshi just how large it was. It had clearly toward over Satoshi, and it brought up both of its clashed to slam down on Satoshi.
Contrary to the bear's belief, he was not going to allow this. The shinigami had dove under the bear right before the claws had been brought down, and sent himself into a purposeful and momentum filled roll. His rolling body slammed into the back legs of the bear, the momentum of the claw swing, and the off balance of its legs sent the bear falling as it had previously did before when he had swiped its back legs. The bear went face first into the grass, and Satoshi quickly used the roll momentum to his advantage to come upwards into a knelt stance with his hand on the ground to slow himself down. He then kicked off like a track racer, and spun his body in a 360 along with his leg in a sort of sideways motion. Satoshi had sacrificed his balance to sent a sort of fancy kick toward the bear, and it slammed directly into the spine of bear that had already been damaged.
A very large cracking noise had filled the air, but it was not from Satoshi. It was from the bear. The bear had shot upward onto its feet, but quickly got back down as it realized it could no longer properly walk. Satoshi's shin had throbbed a great deal, but he knew it was nowhere near to the pain the bear had to be feeling now. He used both of his hands to push himself back on the ground, and he bent over the agonizing creature before him. And before cocking back his right fist, he had peered over at the bear that was smashing into practically every tree that had existed. He had laughed to himself in the most sinister manner possible, and looked back down at the bear with his Topaz eyes full of triumph. Over and over, he began slamming his fist into the skull of the bear. He had realized the bear's skull was think, but didn't realize just how thick it was until now. Each hit had made his hands progressively hurt more, but he hardly cared. SLAM, SLAM, SLAM, SLAM, the fists consecutively dug into the skull of the bear, and he could see the bear's movements getting slower and sloppier with each hit. After a solid two minutes of nothing but fist punches, Satoshi's hands were beginning to bleed, but the bear's head had already done so. He got up from ontop of the bear, and took a few deep breaths to himself in pleasure as he whiped off his feasts on his coat, ignoring the pain as nothing but pure adrenaline was running through his body at that moment.
Looking at the blind bear that had now seemed to give up hope, he had decided to finally finish it off by putting it out of its misery. He walked over slowly, and brought his right hand back up to finish what he had started.
" Rest in pieces. Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south! Hado number 31, SHAK-KA-HO" A final stream of red light shot from his hands into the bear's skull again, and the vocalizations of the bear turned into a dull throat nice, as the bear's head was now nothing but burnt squash. Realizing he had now killed both of the bear's, his faced shifted from pure fun, to pure boredom. He walked a couple paced towards his gear that was now about 20 meters away, and then looked at his dusty clothes. He patted himself down a bit, wiping the brown bear fur and guts from his clothes, and stuck his injured knuckles back in his pockets. As he reached weapon and apparel, he jumped up slightly and caught his sash, and began re-attaching it to his waist. After that was finished, Satoshi stuck his Zanpakuto firmly into the sash waistband, and paced further inward into the forest.
Eventually, the Shinigami had reached a sort of clearing. In this clearing, there was a pool of water laying almost perfectly in the center. It looked to be a small pond, and for the first time, Satoshi had seen something gorgeous in his eyes. The little grove of sorts had a perfect distance of about 30 meters all around it, the very outside of the pond being surround by taller grass and flowers then the rest of the forest. This was most likely due to the pond having a better water and nutrient source. Dragonfly's and mosquitoes loomed around it, dancing happily without a care in the world. He took a deep breath as if he had never had a single breath in his life, and he could smell 30 different aroma's in one inhale. His split mind felt whole in that moment, but realized it was only a delusion as he exhaled. As his expression turned from peaceful to disturbed and bored once again, he had took off his cloak so that only his Odachi and uniform were able to be seen. He folded it neatly 3 times into a perfect square, and layed it on a rock nearby. At this moment, Satoshi knew exactly what he could use this for. He had always heard stories about people being able to walk on water. Ghosts, saints, even the almighty "Jesus" himself. He found all religions to be a joke in his eyes, as there was only one such deity. And he was far from an all-powerful all-controlling god, or so he heard from previous stories.
He brushed the hair out of his eyes to get a much clearer view of his goal. He could see that the pond was probably about 15 yards in diameter, and had seemed almost perfectly circular. With no wild-life in sight to bug him anymore, he didn't have to be on full alert anymore. He tilted his body toward the ground, placed his hands on the grass, and stuck his glutes into the air. He had seen this running start stance in a human sport known as "Track". The name was a little blunt for his taste, but one had to enjoy the rigerous things Human's had did to themselves for self improvement. Satoshi had decided to take it a step further. Kicking off, his right foot slid into the dirt creating a mound of green and brown. Just as fast as it slid back, Satoshi's body gained an intense amount of speed that the Shinigami named Shunpo, or "Flash step." His body rushed forward toward the lake at incalculable speeds, and he attempted to do what the Human's consider possible, and run across water. His right foot touched the surface first, and he tried his best to zoom across the waters as fast as he could like a bolt of lightning.
A bolt of lightning was at least what he pictured whenever he tried to move as fast as he could, as it was mind over matter to overcome physical limits, that much he knew. He was quite tired of being seen as inferior, and knew in order for his goals to be completed, he had to have a certain standard of skill-sets. However, after the first 4 steps into the pond, Satoshi realized he was still not fast enough. The 5th step began to sink, and his eyes widened as he exited the flash step prematurely, and splashed directly into the water. He emerged from the surface with a rather large breath, and held onto his sword as he began to paddle with one hand back to the earth. As he reached the ground, he got onto his feet, and howled as long as his lungs could to take to release all of his pent up anger. He wanted to kill something very badly, something stronger then a bear. He was not satisfied with himself. His spiritual pressure became unsurpressed and it rushed all around him. The yellow and static aura sparked around his body like a beautiful dance of electromagnetic energy. The Shinigami was only mediocre when it came to controlling his Reiatsu, but that could just as easily get him killed as not having any combat experience. He could not afford to allow an enemy to read his energy too prematurely, as that could allow them to formulate a strategy about him before he could even perceive one for his enemies.
Nonetheless, Satoshi was determined to train as hard as possible. He closed his eyes, and began counting his breaths. Carefully, he began to form a 3d image of himself in his head being surrounded by his own yellow aura. With this in mind, he brough his hands up, his fingertips facing each other as if he was about to push something down, and then slowly began to exhale in synchronization with his hands going down from his neck to his waist. This was to control his Reiatsu levels as best as he could. As he exhaled, he imagined his aura being sucked into his body like a vacuum. Once he suppressed his aura to the best of his abilities, he then decided to try and reverse it. He flipped his palms upward at waist level, and then slowly began to raise it up along with inhaling. This time, he had done his best to picture his own body forcing the Reiatsu out. And slowly but surely his own energy had began to pour out of him like Earl Grey from a tea-pot. The Golden aura swirled and crackled around him as he slowly began to express his inner energy. Once his lung capacity reached 100%, he exhaled once more, allowing his energy to be soaked up back into him like a sponge.
With his outrage now quenched, he peered back at the like. "Great works are performed not by strength.. but by perseverance" This was a quote he had heard in his time in the Human world. As much as the Shinigami liked to boast about being superior, there was one thing they could not match up to. And that was how versatile humans could be in almost anything. There were very knowledgeable individuals, and they had many great lessons to teach about the power to become...evolved. With a new-mindset of triumph and conquering, Satoshi's body turned to the body of water quickly and vanished once more. He dashed across the earth and water, only to make it four large steps into it once more. Once more, his anger flared which brought upon the release of his Reiatsu. He climbed out of the water, and began punching the earth with his bare hands, leaving a small dirt, and angering the wounds that were already present on it. However, he did not care. He needed to become better, stronger. He got up to continue his breathing exercises that begin with a large inhale, then exhale. His energy fluctuated according to how he focused on it. Not only did he begin flash stepping across the pond again, he did so consecutively in sort of a ritual. He climbed out, in frustration, let his energy pour out, and then soaked it back in. Only this time, he began to focus on it in different shapes and sizes to attempt to have better micro-management of it. With this effort, Satoshi pictured it into a yellow ball. Then he tried to swirl it around himself in sort of a cone shape in his mind, and he realized his energy was actually fluctuating in similar manners to the patterns he was forming in his thoughts. This time, he imagined two people who both had yellow energy. Only this time it was different, as one of them was his enemy, and another was Satoshi himself in this thought. He imagined Satoshi's energy being superior in power as it crushed the other persons very being. He took it a little overboard, and even imagined his own Reiatsu squashing more people like bugs. When he opened his eyes during this thought, he realized his energy had actually began pushing the tree's and grass away from his body. He smirked with success, and looked at the pond once more.
Hours and hours had gone by, and dusk was near. The shinigami had finally decided to switch it up a bit, and he removed the top of his uniform. This had revealed a rather pale Torso, similar to his white hair. Underneath his garments, he had a sort of 12 0'clock shadow on his chest, and his abdominals were rather pronounced after years and years of physical training. "HEIEIEIYAAA" He screamed a sort of war cry at the pond, and ended his vocalization with another Shunpo. Closer...closer..Satoshi took steps toward the pond at astonishing speeds. Until finally...one step across the pond. Something had felt different about this time running at the pool. Two steps touching the surface of the water. Satoshi's energy had somehow feel more tamed then it usually was. Three steps into the pond. Satoshi's mind was of course still split, and he could feel his inner-demon resting in him like a boiling part of water that hasn't quite reached the top of the pot and bubbled over, but somehow he felt his momentum grow. And with it, his confidence. Four steps into the pond, not losing any momentum. 'This was it' He thought to himself. He had always been frustrated at not being able to grow in power as he watched others around him advance in ways he couldn't understand. Their values were supported by love and caring for others, the value of having to protect someone. But not Satoshi, he was going to become stronger then anyone. And not because he had something materialistic to protect, but because he had no other choice.
He had to do it for his friends who died when he was a kid. He had to do it for the secrets they died for. He had to do it to show the Shinigami just how foolish they were to cross him. He had to do it for himself. "FIVE" Satoshi screamed, and his foot touched the water's surface, and he waited to submerge, but his speed did now allow him. He stuttered for an instant feeling his resolve dying as he had anticipated falling in, but it didn't happen. In a blink of an eye, Satoshi's dying resolve had turned directly into a feeling of being absolutely and totally victorious in nature. Satoshi's legs switched positions, and he took a sixth step. And then after he took his sixth, he took a seventh. And then an eighth. And then a ninth step in total. He was not going to stop there. He had a point to prove to every living thing in any world, and he was going to shove that point down their throats. Satoshi's entire body Shunpo'd across the body of water, and it ended with him slamming into the other side of the pond and rolling into the dirt. His final step had began to sink, so he lost balance and tumbled...but he did it. He finally had increased his speed. He had increased his strength, his weapon skill, but nothing was as good as feeling of being able to feel the wind across your face as you dashed faster then time could even count. As he sprawled, he stopped the roll by sticking out his elbows, and he stopped twirling in two more spins. "Ha...hahahaha." He pushed his body up with both of his arms, and he got from his stomach to his knees and palms. A His white hair had dropped down, pointing towards the ground in individual clusters, and little tiny threads. A tear dropped onto the ground, soaking the already moist earth. Satoshi had allowed liquid to seep from his eyes, as he was happy for this glorious moment in his own history. Never had he felt more alive, and yet he was somehow more calm then ever..
Satoshi had picked himself up from the grown quickly, and looked at the path he had taken. He could see a clear line of brown going across the lake as if it had a scar. This was the path that Satoshi had used over and over to dash across the lake. He trailed his topaz eyes across the line from where he started, to the line he took across the lake, to the line he formed when he smashed into the earth on the other side. He had truly enjoyed every second of being out here, and he realized why people enjoyed being hermits. It was very fulfilling to do something and accomplish it by yourself, with no one to tell you how to do it, or when to. He had truly gained strength by using his own strength. Satoshi whiped the remaining salty water from his eyes, and he looked at his garments from his torso down. "Fucking hell" He cursed at himself. He despised having to wash anything as it gave him a weird feeling in his fingertips, even though he came out here knowing full well it was probably going to have to do it again. He brushed off the crusts of dirt that were splattered like an artist had decided to switch from paint to fertilizer as his form of creating it. Each little spot were memories in his eyes, and he brushed off each patch of dirt while reviewing the memories he had made with this dirt. 'Must have been out here ever since damn the morning. Fun fun'
Although he had came to a realization long ago that any amount of rewards had to have effort and work put into it, he really didn't like it. 'Guess I've grown a bit too accustomed to average human lifestyle'. With that thought, Satoshi had walked around the pond, and carefully put his upper garment and cloak back on, along with the sword he had set down a few hours previous to this just in case he did exactly what he thought he'd do, and roll into the mud. He slid the sword back into his sash, and dusted off the dirt that had come from laying his cloak on the rock. He dusted off his Zanpakuto too. Didn't want his Kiyomemasu to get upset by leaving him dirty as well. With one final glance back at the grove, the Shinigami stuck his hands in his pockets and peered back into the forest and began pacing into it. His efforts weren't in vain, and he had accomplished what he had came here to do. The Shinigami had gained a more reasonable understanding of what it meant to regain his composure, which came along with gaining the ability to control his own energy. His mentality was that his attitude WAS his energy, and as long as he kept his attitude at bay, he could keep his Reiatsu at bay. Not only that, but his speed seemed to peak this day, allowing him a better understanding of what it was he was able to do, and not able to do. He seemed to have much more micromanagement of himself, and this brought a certain unmistakable peace at mind.
"Now that's over...time to kill shit." Satoshi kicked a pine-cone and continued into the dark woods.
