| As CAptain Assassin Just think what I could do to you

It was a warm autumn night in the park. The trees were nearing their state of barren for winter. Their beautiful leaves varying shades of yellows, reds, and browns as they floated down upon the ground and flew through the air. They dances in the breeze, with their rustle as their laughter. They skipped across the grass, chasing each other like they were playing tag.
Occasionally they would land in the river that had carved a path through the land and would take the leaves on a trip down throughout the city. On such an evening the river was a mirror to the awe striking skies above. A cloud was a rare sight on the clear night. The dim street lights that lit the paths of the park weren't strong enough to cast out the millions of stars, or the slight crest moon. Only the ripples from the leaves could remind you that it was indeed the water on such a night.
The stone paths that made their way through the park were flooded with humans on such a wonderful evening. Families and couples mostly. Every park bench was occupied with stargazing hopefuls drawn close to their loved ones. The arched bridge was filled on both ledges by people enjoying the calming spectacles of nature.
Captain Suì-Fēng had no interest in any of this. Her mission here was to find and observe one of the last surviving battle-ready mod-souls. Occasionally the Gotei would check in on their creation, knowing any damage or disruption done by him was ultimately their responsibility. Who else should be shouldered the duty of surveillance and possibly interviewing of the high profile job than the leader of the Stealth Ops.
Surely the romance in the air had never bitten the woman who has always chosen a struggle for power and responsibility since birth, and in fact the sight of it all somewhat disturbed her. The Captain stood, leaning back on a tree, arms crossed in front of her chest tightly. Her glower as evident as ever across her face. The breezes caused the twin braids to dance whenever they came through. Waiting for her target was no issue nor anything new to Suì-Fēng.

Dry leaves crunched underfoot as Seran walked briskly down one of Tsubakidai Park’s many winding paths. It was evening, and while the day had been pleasantly warm, the chill of approaching winter always made it’s presence known as the sun faded in the sky. Occasionally the wind would pick up, sending another rain of multicolored leaves floating down to the ground. Seran sidestepped another human couple walking opposite him on the path; the steam from their breath mingled together in evidence of their closeness. It was usually this way, humans seldom noticed him during his evening walks. If they had, one would’ve approached him by now to ask why he was barefoot, or noticed that no steam hovered by his mouth or nose despite the cold. But humans were not very observant. Seran stopped, and waited as the couple moved away down the path, leaving him relatively alone; though he could still hear the sounds of walking and muffled conversation from around the park. For a moment he waited and listened, his ever present paranoia perking up as it usually did when he left one of his secure locations. He heard nothing suspicious, but that only meant there was nothing obviously out of place; no hollows lumbering through the bushes after the unaware humans. Satisfied, if only for a moment, the mod soul slipped off the path, vanishing into the darkness of the trees. With no more humans to notice, his speed increased, and before long he was sailing through the gloom, unhindered by his hampered vision. As he reached his destination, he landed softly, the crunch of the leaves replaced by soft clinking of pine needles. Although they were not very common in this part of Japan Karakura town did have several natural pine groves throughout the surrounding mountains, but this was the only one Seran had located actually within the city limits. Without ceremony, he removed and unfolded a decently sized cloth bag from his jacket pocket, and began picking up and examining pine cones, setting them in the bag or discarding them if they did not meet his specifications.
