The wind was wild and free, stretching its groggy legs early this morn and sweeping the autumn touched leaves about . From behind the towering porcelain buildings bright amber shyly peaked out, it's flourishing rays adding a much needed warmth throughout Sereitei. A girl of small stature and dandelion colored hair walked down the worn path, heralded by a low hum. Yoon-Mi had awakened quite early today as she wanted to be on time for her tour of Nibantai. Led by none other than Sui-Feng- the Taicho of the Nibantai. From the whispers that crept along the academy cadets ears and from what she'd gathered, the woman was stern, expressionless and harsh. Just the kind of person who mirrored opposite of herself.
She was anxious, perhaps even scared of what lay ahead of the day and yet there was a hint of excitement buried somewhere among those feelings. Sui-Feng after all was a decorated Shinigami, both strong and admirable despite the shortcomings of her personality and yet, she could very much not be as the stories said her to be. This thought pleased the young girl as she made her way through the doors guarded by two officers. One lanky and tall. His features were sharp and his eyes small beneath his scruffy hair. The other to his right was stout, and elderly. His taut visage wore its age all to well, but his dull gray eyes were still very much sharp and haunting like that of a hawk.
Yoon-Mi offered them a timid nod as she quickly walked past them and into the main area of Nibantai. There was a large desk with a woman behind it. Slowly Yoon-Mi approached, meeting her gaze there was a pause, then a slight slip up in her own speech before she properly found words."My name is Yoon-Mi- a recent Academy graduate and I'm here to see Sui-Feng Taicho. She's expecting me."She tried her best to appear serious, albeit serious was definitely not her strong suit. At best she felt like she only looked stupid which sadly was a trait her teachers had aptly many a time called her.
The woman simply gave her a cursory glance, peered down, scribbled with her pen while flipping through papers and bade her to continue down the long hall. There was a giant door embroidered in copper and steel. Yoon-Mi paused. She took a deep breath and gave herself some encouraging words silently before pressing her palm flatly against the door. It felt old, but sturdy and heavy. A push would cause the aged wood to loudly creak before her tiny body passed through. Awkwardly Yoon-Mi's zanpakuto smacked the edge of the ajar door with a loud 'clang' causing her to stumble in whilst stammering from her embarrassment.
"Y-YYYoon-Mi reporting maam!" She spoke rushed and clumsily, adjusting the zanpakuto at her hip before standing as straight as possible.

I believed that when we grew up, The world wouldn’t be cold But I was mistaken cause it’s all the same It was me who all long, the one who saw You past – you now – and future to come
Today Suì-Fēng knew she would have an appointment with another scrubby young girl that the higher powers would swoon with hopes that she would just fall in love with this young girl and take her under her wing and raise her the way she had been raised by the past squad Captain as well. Her face was already fierce and piercing. This would be the third this week alone. Her scowl only growing with every moment in anticipation of the uncomfortable groveling and hopes of another fresh graduate to be the next fastest thing.
Her fingers rifled through forms she wasn't even reading anymore, so engrosed in her frustration and focus on the thoughts of precious time wasted. Her heart began to beat faster and faster and- Bang! Fumble. Clatter! Claaaaaang....
A slow firm blink and then the eyes of the Captain lifted just above the rim of the oak desk to the floor before her grand doors to a blonde haired girl, sprawled in a panic. The sounds of the heavy built wooden chair, sliding harshly and suddenly against the floor boards as Suì-Fēng stood. Her fingers slide along the glossed and smooth desk surface as the woman moved around to the front of the desk set and before the girl. Her face, just as cruel and mute as ever, as she looked down at the crumbling graduate that just fell through her door. "You've got to be kidding me." Her voice comes in with a harsh disappointment.
"Tch." The ninja Captain scoffs as she glances past the girl, through the open doors, swiftly and gracefully stepping past the student below her and through the open doors. Her gaze moving over her shoulder and down to the girl with a vicious and expectant intent. "Let's move. I don't have time to waste on this."
There was a sting to her words as cold as winters bite that caused Yoon-Mi to shiver. It crawled down along the line of her spine, delicately tickling yet callous. 'Bad Yoon... that wasn't the greatest of first impressions...' A mental sigh followed the captains heavy sigh and raucous words. Soi-Feng's movements were graceful. She moved like a feline, silent and beautifully as she slithered her way between Yoon-Mi and the large oak door. For a brief time Yoon-Mi was dazed from the sight, before she met with the Taicho's stern gaze. It warmed her time and instinctively her body moved whilst the iron casted oak cried shut behind them.
"O-OOf course!"
Yoon-Mi stuck close and though un-practiced she moved as if she were in a different realm altogether. Like the woman's own shadow - dark and mysterious, close but always out reach. Sure enough Yoon-Mi was there. Her eyes traveled the length of the winding hall again. She had questions, but was keen on holding her tongue until spoken to. If anything she got the sense that Soi-Feng Taicho was a woman of rigorous rules and structure. She had already failed to make a squad within her first two tries and at the very least she didn't want to leave yet another bad impression of herself imprinted on a superior officer.
They soon were back where Yoon-Mi had started, the familiar desk with the woman behind it, there were several other outlets no doubt leading to various rooms of different purpose. As always thoughts scrambled within her head, she wanted to hum; however, she reminded herself not to several times over. 'i wonder if she'll anymore?' Though hard, dour, and perhaps even humorless she had to make conversation. Even if she was known to be a woman of few words. Yoon-Mi pursed her lips before summoning her courage.
"Soi-Feng Taicho, if I may. What is expected of one who belongs to Nibantai?" A simple ice breaker, one that she was sure would grab hold of her favor, if anything talking about work was the best route to the beginning of this already unsteady acquaintanceship.

Suì-Fēng walked down the corridors of the 2nd Division with a quick and agile motion, her swift motions only matched by their own aggression. Not once did she glance back at the girl trying her best to keep pace and not catch any flack from the Captain and keep in toe. Turn after turn Suì-Fēng had to remember not to launch herself around them and disappear around the next before the student would lose sight. A habit of her own nature as to always be alone that she would have to hold in for the afternoon. She would at least have to spend a few hours and do a full evaluation with the girl if only to have her forms stop appearing back on Suì-Fēng's desk for another evaluation. This had to be the third application, if the Captain remembered correctly.
Finally, the hall opened to the main desk. The woman behind it seemed to be tapping away, when her eyes lit up, and her back tensed and straightened, noticing the Captain's presence. Suì-Fēng Raised her hand to ease then tension; about to brief on what the girl and she would be doing for the day, when the young student spoke up.
Suì-Fēng's raised hand slowly lowered to her side. "What was expected?" The captain thought, "I'll show you." The reiatsu he woman contained seemed to be completely shut off; hidden. Not a sound, even breathing was heard, even as she was right next to the younger girl. The Captain's head slowly turned over from the desk to the curious visitor, when her form all but seems to suddenly disappear.
It was well known that Captain Suì-Fēng specialized in above all else was speed. Her figure without sound, spiritual pressure, and with a speed that only a hand full of beings could even see reappeared behind the girl, the Captains pointing finger pressed to the back of the curious girl's neck.
"I expect nothing special of those who wish to join my Division. However, you must have the willingness to throw your life away. I will push you to near death, I will never compliment your hard work, I may not even learn your name." The finger pressed to the girl's neck swipes quickly to the left, now out to the side of the Captain, rather than directly in front of her. "In return I will teach you the skills of a quick and silent death of your enemies."
As if she were the void itself she'd vanished, not a trace of her presence remained. Yoon-Mi had simply blinked in that small, tiny moment, unable to even comprehend what happened she felt the cool chill of Sui-Feng's fingers pressed against her slender neck whilst her cool breath rolled over her bare skin. The gap was immense between the two, like a mountain and a hill. The two woman were not comparable in the slightest. She could feel the small frame of Sui-Feng press against her own body as she made a cutthroat gesture with her fingers, tracing the length of her neck. Not once did Yoon-Mi feel compassion as she spoke, but there was a sense of thrill within those icy words.
"If you'd only consider having me Taicho, im but a empty page waiting to be written upon... and perhaps maybe become more."
She felt weak, the display of that weakness only served to make her realize how far she was truly off from realizing her goal. The sad truth was the weak could not protect the equally weak and so she had but one path - the path of power and strength so that she could grasp hold of her ideals and see them to fruition.
