Entering the city Fuji had a serious look on his face, though it still seemed to be emotionless and cold. The sparring with Akuma had shown Fuji, though skilled at hakuda, still had a ways to go. He sensed the flaring of reiatsus nearby, he decided to see if it was anyone of true merit. He shunpoed over to a dojo in a dirty little area.
Upon arriving he saw two men going at it. He recognized one of the men as the man who dishonored him when he was still young and in his old life. While watching these two men go at it, he could not believe that this weak man actually defeated him. The other man was significantly smaller, but he was also much quicker than the bigger man who had defeated Fuji. The smaller man was easily ducking and dodging the larger one, slowly taking away the bigger ones base and pushing him off balance and eventually knocking him down.
Fuji walked in walked into the dojo. “Who the hell are you?” the large man roared. Fuji looked up with a malicious glare, he chuckled and said “Pathetic.... I can’t believe that someone as weak as you defeated me.” The larger man looked confused e “I have no idea who the hell you are but if you want an ass whooping, come on in.” This just angered Fuji more, he looked at both men and said “Well with those pathetic skills you both better come at me for a challenge.”
At that the larger man charged Fuji, he swung wildly and with reckless abandonment. Fuji was easily dodging the man’s attacks, he was slow and had no technique. Right as Fuji was about to attack the smaller man had appeared behind him and grabbed his arms. The smaller man smirked and said “You said for both of us to come at you. You shouldn’t forget about me.” Before he could respond Fuji felt the larger man hit him in the gut than the face and again in the gut. The Larger man laugher and “Hows that little man?”
Fuji focused himself, he notice that the smaller man was much smaller than himself and was lighter too. Upon realizing this Fuji let out a malicious laugh and said “Is that all you got little girl?” He was attempting to taunt and frustrate the large man, and it worked. This infuriated the larger man causing him to wind up a huge haymaker, at that moment Fuji grasped the smaller man’s clothes.
Right before the Larger man made contact, Fuji ducked and leaned forward. This caused the larger man to miss Fuji but also hit the smaller man because Fuji had pulled him into the punch. This dazed the smaller man causing him to release Fuji’s arms. At that moment Fuji ducked under a large left from the big man, spinning while ducking he put his hands on the ground. From this position Fuji shot his right leg straight at the ribs of the larger man knocking him back.
This allowed time for the smaller man to regain his composure. He attacked Fuji, catching him with a kick to the jaw. It was light and quick, not as much power as Fuji expected but then three more quick kicks landed up the left side of Fuji’s body. He then realized that the smaller man was breaking Fuji down, he wasn’t trying to win in a strike but instead all the strikes would add up. At that second the larger man went to grab Fuji from behind but he was slow and Fuji ducked under his arms, he then spun quickly to his right sweeping the large man’s legs out from under him. When the big man hit the ground Fuji’s right leg was already raised to deliver an axe kick to the large man’s chest, but while the leg was coming down the smaller man positioned himself under it and caught it with his right palm, then quickly swept the back of Fuji’s left leg. As the smaller man’s leg touched Fujis, Fuji back hand sprang away, he did not want to be caught on the ground.
Fuji was starting to realize that his true opponent would be the smaller man who was still standing and smiling at Fuji. Thought he also had to remember that he had two opponents and he had to know where both were at all times during the fight. Fuji decided taking out the larger man first would be the best idea, but it would be difficult with the other guys speed. Fuji watched as the larger man got up, he was obviously angry and frustrated since he had easily defeated Fuji at one time. The smaller man started to circle to Fuji’s back while the larger one stood at his front. This caused Fuji to be right in between the two men, the large man rushed him. Fuji side stepped to the right, just then the smaller man had snuck up on Fuji’s side delivering an elbow to the ribs. Then came a kick to the face that Fuji barely dodged, but he realized there game was to distract with one, than the other would attack. Fuji decided quickly to make the smaller one the distraction.
At that he faced the smaller one, the larger one charged him again. He had miscalculated, it wasn’t both of there plans it was the smaller ones plan to use the large one as a distraction. Fuji decided the larger one had to be dealt with quickly or he would be in trouble. The large man charged him, Fuji waited till the large man was within in a few feet then he quickly turned around and did a front flip with his right foot straight out, so the heel contacted the large man on top of his head knocking the man out. But then, upon landing, he felt a sharp pain in his back, the smaller man had kicked him, sending Fuji flying.
Fuji got up off the ground and dusted himself off, but the small man quickly attacked again. The small man smiled saying "Don't think I'm gonna let you have a bit of rest. Its good to see you have improved." This confused Fuji, he had never seen this man before and he would remember someone of this man's skill level. Fuji decided not to dwell on this, it wasn't important. Fuji shunpoed away and took his fighting stance.
The man got into a boxing stance. He darted at Fuji and then disappeared from view as Fuji felt a hook to his ribs. Fuji didn’t even see it coming. Fuji crigned in pain, "What the hell was that?" he questioned. The man smiled and answered "That is part of the Symphony of Shadows Techniques, Shadow Fist. But that is all I am allowed to tell you for now, you will learn the rules of this style." Fuji was confused.. Fuji took the same stance as the man, he would learn the technique on this day. The man’s hands felt like steel, it had to come from reiatsu concentration. Fuji focused reiatsu around his hands, The small man punched at Fuji and Fuji punched him square in the hand. But Fuji's hand went flying back and he realized the man's punches were much stronger and possessed a piercing quality. as he felt one of his knuckles was broken.
"Bad form, you’re not doing your punch correctly!" the small man exclaimed. The man let out a flurry punches at Fuji, missing most but he had backed Fuji into a wall. The last punch Fuji barely dodged, it had put a hole in a wall. Fuji looked at the hole and realized that it could have been his head. The small man smiled, but Fuji noticed the man had slowed the punch on purpose allowing Fuji to decipher the secret of the technique.
By switching lead foot constantly it allowed for the man to use the rotation to improve the strength and create so much force that it caused a piercing quality. He was using his hips to transfer force from his body rotation to his hands, this greatly increased the power of his punches. Fuji, shunpoed behind the man and focused himself in the Shadow Fist stance. He switched lead foot right to left to right then when he had his left foot forward he let loose a punch snapping his hip causing his right foot forward making it his lead foot. Small man ducked and shunpoed away, Fuji had punched clean through the wall. He smiled, the small man was also smiling and said "You figured it out. Do you remember me now? I know I look a lot older and in my old age I have shrank. And you are obviously a little different but I can see that spirit of your’s Wasuremono." Fuji hadn’t heard that name in years.
Fuji had finally realized who it was, and he bowed to the man "Master Take, It is an honor" Fuji had only ever seen the man in passing at the village he was raised. He remembered that all of the Master’s of hand to Hand would mee there. "Ah good you remember. You were always a very talented and skilled fighter but to pick up the attack so quickly is impressive, that buffoon over there has been training for years but still can't do it." as he pointed at the large man who was just starting to awake. "He thinks it is all about strength but now you know the true secret, the Symphony of Shadows techniques is not about brute strength or lightning fast movements but keen observation. That is the only way to master it" he smiled and bowed to Fuji.
Fuji realized that if Master Take had actually tried, Fuji would be dead. When there fists met earlier, Fuji's arm would have been obliterated. He was truly humbled to have been given a lesson by one of the four masters of the Symphony of Shadows. "Thank you for the lesson Master, I will always cherish this day." he said in a sincere tone as he raised his head. At this point his right hand was was numb from earlier when he punched Master Take’s fist "I apologize, but I must take my leave. I think you did more damage than I thought to my hand with that punch."
Master Take smiled and said "Come by the dojo and see me anytime you want to train, I would be honored to train a talented and intelligent youth like you." Fuji found this wierd, he had heard the horror stories that surrounded all masters. Take was known as the "Demon Hand" a ruthless fighter whose hands could crumble mountains. But this old man in front of him was kind and warm, though Fuji did not Seran to explain the damage to his newly made body.[/blockquote]
