Eyes still swimming Gage coughs, his lungs not working from the impact for a moment before he is finally able to catch his breath. "I did warn you." Behind him the man laughs a little. "He sure did take it easy on you for that. You should be more careful, he is your inner hollow after all so what ever the worst thing you can imagine yourself doing is probably what he has already decided to do."
Coughing Gage staggers back to his feet. "Right, thanks for that heads up." Any pity that h3 might have been feeling at first now having faded away after his short spat with Ao. Looking at the man he suddenly realizes something. "Hey I never got your name." Gage occasionally looks back and forth between the man and Ao, wondering if he was possibly within arms distance of him even with the chains.
"Me? You can call me Tetsuo," The man reaches out with one hand and takes Gages in a firm shake. "It was good finally getting the chance to meet you. However you have somewhere you need to be." Gage feels his eyes flutter open, his outfit still being the same but this time with a oddly sheathed straight sword in his lap.
Standing up straight he holds it out at arms length drawing the blade out of the sheath with one hand and holding the sheath in the other. The opposite end of the sheath had a matching blade, tucked into the other side so that to draw it out you would have to pull from both ends simultaneously. The grips of this weapon was just over eight inches long and the blade no longer than his forearm. In total it was the exact length of his arm from elbow to fingertips.
The guards themselves are six sided and slightly stretched with a raised 'x' going though the middle so that the cross meets with the blade. The handle of both the blades are dark blue and are wrapped in a traditional battle wrap style, a ornate depiction of a mountain range in the middle of a metal plate in the grip. The pommel of the sword is a shined black metal with a faint blue hue to it while the blades are a shined silvery steel as all steel appear. Looking it over he smiles. "Tetsuo." Standing Gage sheaths the blades and looks up, the building in front of him still smoking and smoldering. "Elan..."Gage starts off at a trot towards the nearest house as someone pokes their head out the door. "Hello. Hello, What happened after the house caught on fire?"
Confused the man looking out the door looks up and down the street for signs of any kind of hollow before he speaks. "You don't remember? You were the one to do it." The man closes the door behind him.
"No I know I started the fire but I don't know what happened after that. Did they get away?" The man stares at Gage for a bit before continuing.
"You really don't know? You killed over half of them. The others that were too hurt from the fire all running into the woods. After you finished off the last one you knelt down and didn't move till morning. I don't know whats going on here but what ever it is they are after you and what ever it is that you have." The man looks extremely worried being out on the street and appeared to want nothing more than to go back inside his house and hide behind his door.
"Alright. Just...Stay inside and if anyone tries to come outside tell them to get inside. If they really are after me then they can come and get some. I am not going anywhere."
Gage sits, alone and quietly in the middle of the square, his stomach grumbling from the lack of food for breakfast. A young voice behind him gets his attention. The young boy, eyes still swollen from cying stands with a massive loaf of bread in his arms. "My auntie says that you are trying to stop the bad wolves from getting everyone and that you are tired. She says that if you are going to stop the dogs from coming back you have to eat and rest so I took this from the baker in town. Sitting in front of Gage he holds out the loaf and smiles at him like he had no real grasp on what was going on.
"You Zanpatato is different from when you came here," the boy stared ever so intently at Gages lap, the sheathed blades laying across his legs so that the sun overhead shines down on it with a georgeous glint.
"Yes well, the blade is not just a thing. It is a who and it can grow and change just like you will when you get bigger," Gage smiles at the boy and tears off a good sized peice of bread for himself. "So tell me, what do they call you in town?"
"My name is Nari. I am one of the town lost boys. My mother dropped me off in town when I was tiny tiny and the town all take care of me. I may not have a mom but I have a giant family. Auntie and Uncle...yesterday...They had brought me out to eat so that I would feel better but then the dogs made them sick so you came and got me." Gage felt his heart sink for this boy. He was just a child in the spiritual world and he was already all on his own. It really struck a cord with him. He himself had grown up with the foster care system and knew what it was to have to hop from home to home. It was good that this boy had so many people in town to take care of him.
After a few more minuets of talking Gage sends the boy away, telling him that it is just not safe for a child in the streets right now. If he wants to help he needs to hide when something happens so that Gage does not have to stop what he is doing to go and help him. The boy is more than happy to do what he can to help, even if it means staying out of trouble and hiding when it comes time to draw blades and fighting.
While Gage sits and waits he enters a calm stance, legs crossed with his Zanpakto in his lap and hand resting gently on the sheath, using his Soul Communication to enter the inner world of his Zanpakto. Settling down on to the ground Gage feels the cold air of the mountaintop blowing though his robes and across his skin. Above him a rolling cloud seems to constantly crack with thunder and lightning as it moves across the sky. "Tatsuo, why is always storming here?"
Tatsuo steps out from behind Gage and laughs,"How do you know its always storming here? You have only ever been here twice. For all you know it only storms when you show up." Putting one hand on Gages shoulder he pulls him closer and smiles.
"Well I just assumed that its always storming because both times that I have been here it has looked like the sky was trying to wipe the town off the map," A yellow bolt of lightning arks out of the sky and slams into the rod on the peak of the mountain sending off a blast of noise and spark to cover the entire top of the mountain. Gage instinctively jumping away dives and rolls to face the impact zone, both Tatsuo and Ao not even flinching at the crash.
"If you are going to be here you might want to get used to that," Tatsuo walks over to Ao and checks the chains on his hands and feet so that he is sure that they are still secure. "The storm will strike this rod every few minuets randomly and if you don't get used to it then it is going to make you lose your skin."
Gage feels his heart slowly climbing out of his mouth and down his throat to settle in his core again. "Yeah, I suppose that would get to be a bit annoying to hear all the time, you still didn't tell me why its like this though."
"Well Doyoko, why don't you tell me. It is your world after all, everything here is under your control. Well my control but it seems to be under your control too," Tatsuo turns and faces the sky overhead when a few drops of water start to sprinkle down on his face, a small smile forming in the rain.
"Its under my control?" Gage thinks about it. If he was able to dispel the fog maybe he would be able to get rid of this storm and make it sunny, something more pleasant to look at and maybe a bit more bright. Concentrating Gage closes his eyes and focuses on the thought of clear skies, blue air and the warm sun. Feeling something warm on his face he cracks one eye open slightly.
Standing there in front of him is Tatsuo, his face inches away, the warmth of his breath being the heat. Startled and jumping backwards Gage hops away before another crack of lightning goes off, striking the rod behind him with the decibels that would put a battle ship horn to shame. Jumping again from the sound Gage falls flat on his butt, his face to the sky, Ao standing still bound and chained in his peripheral vision. Walking over Tatsuo looks down at Gage's face.
"Not going to get rid of the rain that fast. You should considering why its raining rather than consider how to get rid of it," Gage looks up at Tatuso, the black matte color of his skin hiding much of the detail from view in the dark storm.
"And I don't suppose that you might just tell me what the reason is?" Gage smiles up at Tatsuo, the man looking down at him and smiling back but shaking his head no. "Right, well I suppose that I am going to have to think about it. What about you? I know that Zanpakto are supposed to have some kind of special power, something the represents their sword in essence. I know that you are two short swords but what about your power? Do I have to learn some kind of crazy thing or do you not have one?" Gage stays on the ground and lays there as he looks up, out of the corner of his eye he can see Ao laughing slightly at the sight of him prone on his back.
"Well there is something that you could do to clear this up," Tatsuo gestures at the sky," but you would have to do something that is kind of against your nature as it is. Maybe one day you will be able to find a middle ground but until then you will have to deal with it." Putting out a hand to Gage he helps him up, dusting him off when he is upright.
"Well maybe I don't care for the lightning too much. It seemes to be rather depressing and I have only ever been here like...twice now," Gage finally takes the time to look over Tatsuo, the outfit matching his own. Black shinigami robes with a white under layer. His hear, black and metal is slightly longer, pulled back into a pony tail and tied. The only difference is that he seems to be wearing a white overcoat with an interesting symbol on it. It seemed to be a mix between the Fullbringer symbol and some kind of diamond with a skull in it. Over all the outfit was very reminiscent to that of a Shinigami, save for the odd symbol.
"You should get used to it. Its your head," Tatsuo walks over to Ao and sits against the pillar. "So what brings you here? You have something out there that you need to be focusing on right now. Unless of course you have a real question for me."
Gage clears his throat and walks over, sitting against the pillar next to him. Stopping and looking up Gage asks," Is this safe? This thing is getting struck by lightning like every few minuets."
"What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. What is your question?" crossing his legs Tatuso looks over to Gage and leans his head against the rod.
"Well I was wondering. I know that your power is your power and that you are not obligated to help me but I am getting into a position that I may not be able to handle everything without help. I suppose that I am asking maybe you help me. I have lost my strength and..."Gage takes a rather deep breath, he does not like taking help from others no matter the situation but this was not about him. He needed to make sure that he could handle the situation that was coming for the town. Not for his safety but for the people in this little village.
"Ah, well I suppose the question was bound to come up at some point. You want me to tell you my name, my real name so that you may call me out to the real world and use my strength in place of what you lost," Tetsuo sits up and rests his hands on his knees. "And what makes you think that you are worthy of my name?"
Gage stops for a moment. He did not care for others being condescending to him, especially when he does not really know them or they happen to be a physical manifestation of his own mind. "Its not for me, I wouldn't be involving myself in anything that I can't get myself out of but right now I need to make sure that the people out there have every possible chance to survive what is coming."
Tatsuo does not respond, he watches the dark skyline as several more bolts of lightning cross and weave. Striking down it arches straight at the town before making a near right degree turn towards the mountain top where they sit. Gage covers his head and tucks forward as the bolt strikes the top of the rod, following the metal down and into the ground where it dissipates into the earth leaving Gage with a massive ringing in his ears. By the time that Gage looks up Tatsuo is standing, walking towards the mountains edge,"I am not saying that your choice in goals is wrong. I personally believe that you do it out of the goodness of your heart but one day you will see another side to your actions."
Gage stands up rubbing his ear with one hand to get the ringing to go away. "Would you have me look away from them? Pretend that it is not happening?" Gage starts forward to close the distance to Tatsuo to continue the conversation.
"No, I do like that you want to help in every way that you can and I truly do feel honored that you would be my wielder but there is other ways to live and you will see them one day. How can you so blindly bind yourself to one way of life without knowing the feelings of what the other side would be like?" Tatsuo does not back down from Gages advances, not shirking from the behavior of the man that seemed too closely bound to his beliefs.
"Well maybe your right, maybe I will change but right now I am this way and I need your help. Please. Will you help me?" Gage lets go of the anger and frustration with the conversation in the hopes that Tatsuo will lend him his strength for the others. Right now nothing mattered more than the people out there and he needed to know that Tatsuo would aid him.
"You have a cause that I can get behind. I like the way that you follow your morals but one day you will need to see the grey in the world otherwise the white is going to swallow you whole and you will be left with nothing but the black."
