Fingers tapped repetitively against wood. The smooth countertop was just another work of her family’s craftsmanship. Circular in design yet this was no round table. There were no warriors from nine different realms here. Only Superia, always only Superia. The young alchemist’s quill had been worn down from constant use. Her lone book filled with drawings and alchemical equations on expensive parchment paper was getting full. How many notes Souper wrote down in just a few weeks time was, to some, astounding, The passing days in her workshop, inside a cave, let her finish up basic theories and formulas for her craft.
The many berries she collected throughout her time here was mixed with body parts and blood from various wildlife. She took careful consideration for mother nature’s bounty, harvesting little more than what her stomach handled with scraps left for wolves and other predators. Cooking meat over a stone grill was interesting, especially when the burning materials produced a special flame that gave meat, and even greens, additional flavor. She had taken consideration with various berries, finding which were poisonous based off family notes. Of course, with left hand on her stomach she started regretting adding in an abnormal looking berry.
Her monthly time had been delayed yet she still got pains. An annoyed, and moopy, Superia’s head rested on wood without much expression. Faint reverberating groans came from her chest like a low growling lion. Annoying as her situation was, Superia drank a concoction that relieved some symptoms. Her knowledge of Eastern Alchemy helped her here, but was also the cause for her current situation. That and the wild growth spurt of plants blocking the entrance of her underground cave. Not much of an issue, the dense vines and long thorns kept animals out, but she was still somewhat trapped there and didn’t, currently, feel like getting rid of her experiment.
The vines produced an interesting fruit similar to a mango, delicious and didn’t make her feel sick. Healthy, good source of nutrition but not good with meat. She sighed, moving towards a small circular waterhole that was more like a hot spring. It produced constant bubbles, allowing her to have warm or cool water based on concentrations of reishi. Clothes removed, steam arose as she could finally relax both body mind and spirit. She had been through a lot these past few days so she was in need of well deserved rest. But maybe finishing her little project here first. Yea, that sounded nice. Eyes closed and she slipped into a deep sleep.
Superia’s various studies were not left to wither. She had done all this for a very specific reason. While expanding her own knowledge of mixtures and potions was secondary, Superia had done something she read in a book she kept hidden. The family secret book, one of several that spoke about secret teachings passed down between family members of certain Quincy. While an incomplete knowledge was presented to Superia, she had boiled and mixed her mother’s blood for several days. The process took time and her various spiritual endowed berries and meat helped with the process. Not by quickening, but allowing Superia to see what sort of effect the various potions had.
She did eventually awaken with a relaxed body. There were no cramps like before, much thanks due to the heat of her manmade hot spring. The girl dressed herself in garbs of tan and white. White top with tan shorts. Apparently mother nature would not start today although she wouldn’t complain. She could skip a month although next month would be another story altogether. She moved to the second underground floor where the air was much denser with spiritual particles she personally gathered from above, a small pillar was surrounded in blue flames giving only a faint bit of light for the area as well warmth. She had came to see if her compound mixed well enough, and it seemed as it did very much so.
She pondered on the possibility of what may occur once she drank the small vial but pushed those thoughts aside. She didn’t feel like going through anything weird at the moment. Plus what happened during the ‘process’ before gaining power wasn’t detailed. Almost like it was purposefully left out in her family’s books. For that reason Superia didn’t want to try it although she couldn’t easily find another test subject. Quincy, pure bloods at that, were scarce. Her kind were nearly extinct. Sure she could try on a Shinigami or Hollow but that might just be wasted effort.
