As Arthur waited on the hilltop for his… ‘buddy’ to arrive, he started tugging loosely on the soul of the dirt to try and form it into a cup. All he was able to accomplish was a small bump to appear. “Ugh, maybe I should work on my soul communication as well while the shinigami trains me” he muttered to himself. He looked around a bit at the place they had chosen. Arthur personally preferred more enclosed spaces, but the as long as a location had plenty of shadows, it was comfortable enough. The many rocks jutting up from the surrounding hills, and the many outcroppings of earth provided plenty of shade. Arthur tugged a bit more at the earth, and thought he noticed a slightly bigger bump this time. On closer inspection however, it was the same size. Sighing in disgust Arthur flopped backward. “It’s been 20 minutes, is he even gonna show up?” Arthur released Memoirs of the Haunted and stood up. “A little prank since he’s late shouldn’t hurt too much” Arthur chuckled as he copied shadows from the surrounding rocks and outcroppings. He called all the surrounding shadows to himself, wiping them from the hilltop and making it seem like a ghost world with no light. He left a large circular shadow around his body, and lay on his stomach as though dead.
Viktor arrived on the hilltop where the Fullbringer had asked to be trained. Viktor was late and he knew it, but he didn't care. His job as a Shinigami was more important than training someone else. Viktor looked around and noticed that the man wasn't here. "Pft. And I'm the late one? Yea right." Viktor drew his Zanpakuto from the sheath by his right hip. He sat down, extending his reiatsu to the surrounding area. He felt nothing, but he left it there as he went into his inner world. The extension of his reiatsu stayed spread out like a net. Should something twinge against this net he would snap out of his inner world immediately, ready for a fight, whether it be friend or foe.
Viktor saw in his inner world the giant salamander that inhabited this place. A gentle breeze blew across the knee high grass. Viktor sighed contentedly. Here he felt at peace compared to the array of feelings he felt when he was back in the real world. Viktor strode up towards Murasakino and jumped onto her back. "Murasakino it's really been awhile since I came to the inner world hasn't it?"
"Yes it has my dear." A chuckled escaped the mouth of the salamander. "I have missed you dearly." Viktor felt the warmth of Murasakino's body and felt like he could melt into her. He loved her more than anything. She was like the mother of his Shinigami life. Always worrying about him and if he was okay. He felt safe here, and completely at ease.
After laying face down for about 5 minutes, Arthur started to cramp. He looked around cautiously and didn't see anyone still. Groaning, Arthur started to sit up and rubbed his back. "Where the hell is he..." He grumbled as he stood up. Using the shadows he'd gathered to make a scaffolding and climbed to the top to look around. He noticed a man off in the distance sitting on a rock a few hilltops over. "Oh lord, is that him? How'd he wind up over there?!" Arthur groaned. He climbed down from the shadow scaffolding and started heading down the hill. As he crested a closer hill, he noticed the mans eyes were closed. "Oh first he's late, then he falls asleep? What a slacker." He jogged down the last hill and crested the hill the man was sitting on. "Alright, he wants to sleep on the job, fine. I'll teach him" Arthur muttered as he copied the shadows from the hilltop. Arthur concealed his reiatsu in case the man woke up, and formed a small shadow into a plane. He hid behind a rock as he flew the plane towards the man. The wind gusted as the plan got close however, and it swerved to the right. "Damn, one more" Arthur whispered as he tossed another plane. This one flew true and bonked the man on the forehead.
While Viktor laid on the back of Murasakino he felt a twinge against his netting.
"Don't you think you should greet the boy?" Murasakino mused and chuckled which bounced Viktor on her back.
"Yea yea. He's slow to conceal his presence though. Him concealing his presence after he finished going down the hill was a little late. I'll have to help him with that too." Viktor hugged the salamander's neck and bid her farewell while snapping back to the real world. Viktor kept his eyes closed and tried make his reiatsu denser, but didn't really put the right amount of effort into it. He did after a few seconds of trying, pull it back in.
Viktor waited a bit more, and then he felt something hit his forehead. He snapped his eyes open and saw a plane of shadows. "How peculiar." He mumbled loudly. He knew the man was nearby, but he did not know where exactly as he had masked his presence from Viktor and he didn't feel like trying to search too hard. "You can come out now. I know you're around here. You should try concealing your reiatsu sooner rather than later."
Viktor drew his second sword. They were here to train and that's what Viktor intended to happen. "The sooner you come out, the sooner we can get to training." Viktor shouted out in general, it didn't really matter who was around other than the man, and that was simply because no one would hear him unless they were spiritually aware. "If you don't come out soon, I'll get bored and we don't want that." Viktor laughed a bit. He was just making mindless threats to try and get the man to come out. Although in truth, he most definitely was getting bored. He had already examined the plane and gotten bored with it.
"Hm he's no fun." Arthur muttered as he flew he plane back toward the rock where the shadow belonged and dissolved the plane back into shadow. He allowed Memoirs of the Haunted to deactivate as he stepped out from behind the rock. "Hello there. I assume one of us got the wrong hill, but I won't place blame on anyone at the moment." Arthur said as he examined the man. He seemed pretty normal so far, other then spouting random threats. "You realize I waited here for almost half an hour? If anyone should be bored, it should be me" he pouted as he sat on the ground. Arthur tugged at the earth again and was able to make a small ball of dirt this time. He rolled it around a bit as he looked up at the Shinigami seated in front of him. "So what are we practicing first boss?" Arthur asked as he tossed the small dirt ball toward the man. Upon landing short, Arthur scowled and tried to make another. As this one failed to even form fully, Arthur got dejected and just made a dirt ball with his hands, rolling the earth around with a bit of clay to make it stick together before setting it in the sun to try.
Viktor watched the man before him pout like a child. Then he complained. "Be happy I"m here at all." Viktor threw his sword into the air as he stood up. It gleamed in the afternoon sun, and once it started its descent Viktor held up his hand and caught the sword as it was falling. "Your complaining is unsightly, and training you is taking time out of my busy schedule." Viktor drew his second sword and stared at the man. "I hope you're ready to train until you collapse." Viktor stared at Arthur. "What are we training first? Everything." Viktor held his Zanpakuto, the unbroken sword, and closed his eyes.
If Arthur paid attention, then he would notice a building of spiritual pressure. "Silence my enemies...Even their breathing!" Viktor's sword dispersed in a purple mist. The cloud of mist drifted up into a stream and flowed into Viktor's mouth. His Zanpakuto turning into a surgical cutting tool (it's the very top picture.) Viktor reached up and slowly removed his mask. As he did so, he breathed out. His breath was visible, and it had a purple hue to it. As Viktor breathed in and out more and more of the mist from his breath would start building up.
Advantages: Rank 1 advantage, Release 1 advantage, for a total of 2 advantages over.
Release: When Murasakino Inja is released, the sword dissolves into a mist that is breathed in by Viktor. When he breathes out his breath is a poison mist with a purple hue to it, the poison he breaths is constantly changing it’s chemical makeup and is thus harder to create a cure for unless given time and a sample. Viktor is immune to this poison. In his hand the black hilt of his sword shifts into an black grip, and the blade is now only 3 inches long and is curved downward. The inside curve and outside curve are both sharp enough to slice through bone.
Name: Bōtoku no guraundo (Desecrated Ground) Class: Release Tier: II Type: Passive/Poison Range: Self-50 meters Description: The ground slowly starts to decay over time. At one post the only thing that would be noticeable would be the grass changing color. After 2 posts the plant life will be wilted and dying, as well as the ground will start to crack. At 4 posts the cracks in the ground will open wider, and at 5 the ground will start "leaking" poison. A purple mist will start to waft through the air. All the poison coming from Viktor's Zanpakuto causes break the down of reiatsu, the longer the opponent(s) inhale or the absorb the poison, the weaker they get. This deals damage over time based on advantages. If the opponent(s) manage to stop the technique, then the ground will leak poison for up to 3 posts, and after a total of 6 posts the poison will no longer be in the air. (1st Post)
Arthur yawned as the man stood up. He watched the sword fly up into the air until it reflected a beam of sunlight into his eyes. Arthur hissed and fell backwards as the light blinded him. “Be happy you’re here? The time and date was YOUR idea, you know. Why are you threatening me, when YOU were late?” Arthur muttered as he rubbed his eyes. He was used to the action less chattering of a man who refuses to accept he was wrong. As the sight finally returned to his eyes, he glanced back up at the man. “How can we train EVERYTHING first anyway- oh god what happened to your mouth? Wearing that mask a little tight?” Arthur looked away quickly, standing up. ‘Wait, why is the air purplish? Is it twilight already?’ Arthur asked himself looking around. The sun was still high in the sky, and the purple seemed to be coming from…the Shinigami’s mouth? “Dude, are you ok? You’re breathing purple fire. What did you eat today?” Arthur then noticed the man’s sword had changed from an actual sword to what looked vaguely like a scimitar. “Oh, is this that ‘release’ thing you guys are known for? Alright, let’s get started then” Arthur said perking up.
Viktor felt his eye twitch, there were few things that could cause him lose his cool. Insulting his mask or release was on the list of things not to do. Viktor opened his eyes and tried to maintain his calm demeanor. "If you can't beat me, or don't impress me...you will die here." Viktor smirked, and tried to keep a lugh from building up. 'A mere human? He couldn't beat me if he wanted to.' Viktor chuckled quietly to himseld. Viktor took a quick look over the hill, compared to some his release had a slow start up time. He took notice of the plant life wilting, of the grass slowly becoming a yellow, then a dried up, faded yellow. 'It shouldn't be too much longer now. A few more minutes would be my guess.' Viktor popped his neck and swapped the smirk for a grin. "I hope you're ready, because here..." Viktor flash stepped in front of Arthur "I come!" Viktor felt his grin widen as he swung his sword downwards towards Arthur's arm. If Arthur's wits were about him he would have just enough time to dodge. Should he not be fast enough, or should the sudden attack take him by surprise then Viktor's sword would slice into his skin, although it would appear as a small cut, barely even going into the skin. That was not where the real danger in the attack would lie. "If you cannot survive then you will decay from this world into the next."

Name: Gensui (Decay) Class: Release Tier: II-IV Type: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Self-3 Inches Description: Whenever Viktor attacks an enemy he causes the target to become infected. Small wounds and lacerations begin to corrode over 3 posts. While the poison persists wounds become more severe. Rather than deal damage, the target’s wound begins to decay as though they were a corpse. This persists for 8 posts, until cured, or until the infection is isolated (an arm being rotted away or cut off for example). Alternatively, Viktor can activate this as a Tier IV ability. When activated Viktor can “cure” a target’s infection by inhaling the poison for 4 posts after he does this his blood becomes laced with a liquid form of his own poison which sprays out in a gaseous state when he’s cut and he gains another poison immunity in addition to his own, the Tier IV has a 8 post cool down after the 4 post duration. This second poison must be afflicting him already if it is not, he will become immune to the next poison that ails him for the remaining duration of Decay.
"Die? Whoa man calm down, this is just a training battle remember? Please no killing each other" Arthur spoke up as the man disappeared and reappeared before him, slashing down toward him. Arthur ducked, the blade narrowly avoiding his arm. As he fell to the ground, Arthur activated Memoirs of the Haunted and copied the Shinigami's shadow. Forming the mans shadow into a small child in front of him, he tried to reason with the man. "You wouldn't hurt a kid, would you? Look at her, she's only 9! I think. How old are YOU?" he asked as he backed up into the shadow of a nearby rock. Looking around he noticed the plant life on the hilltop was suffering. Flowers were dying, and the sparse bushes that barely survived up here in the first place were long dead. Infuriated by the man's apparent disrespect for all forms of life save his own, Arthur formed the rocks shadow into demonic wings sprouting from his back and using a bit of reiatsu, swapped his weight with that of his shadow. Taking flight above the Shinigami, Arthur yelled down at him "Do you really care this little for the life and well being of others? You're a menace to everyone!"
Viktor watched Arthur dodge his first strike and he smirked. A fast and smart adversary is was not found very often. Viktor watched as his shadow was taken from him and held in front of him as a child. Viktor laughed a deep, maniacal laugh. He felt the thrill of battle over taking his mind. "Why should I care if this shadow of a girl is in the way? I'm a menace? No, you've got it wrong." Viktor flash stepped in front of Arthur. "You see Arthur, my training is simple. You live or you don't. The weak don't deserve to inhabit this world. I'll make you stronger by putting you as close to the brink of death as I can. If don't survive, well then, that's on you." Viktor laughed again and flash stepped a few feet away from Arthur. Viktor scanned the area around them again. The grass dead in all but the smallest of patches, shrubs were drying up. A wider smirk crossed Viktor's lips. You dodged pretty well, but lets see how well you dodge this." Viktor flash stepped back in front of Arthur and he slashed rapidly, three times. Once across, once down, and once diagnol. "You will get stronger, or you will die."

Swapping weight with his shadow again, Arthur dropped like a stone, narrowly avoiding the shinigami's slashes. Back on the ground, Arthur let the shadow wings dissolve and rolled into the shadow of a nearby boulder, throwing it towards the still airborne Shinigami. Looking around, Arthur noticed the most if not all the plants on the hilltop where dead. 'This man really doesn't care about plant life does he. I could possibly have used some of this against him, if my soul communication was working properly. Alright let's see then... I can't match him in speed, I doubt I can match him in power, and if this takes too long that poison he's breathing will get me. What can I do...' Rolling another dirt ball, Arthur considered his options. He could give up, hope the Shinigami would let him go until he was more powerful or had a gas mask of his own, or he could just hope that the man didn't intend on actually killing him, just bring him close and then give him some kind of cure for the poison flowing through the air. Making a decision, Arthur stood up from behind the boulder. "Hey Mister Death God. Can we take a break or something? I feel like this is unfair if I don't have a mask."
Viktor looked at the Fullbringer before him. 'A break? Is he serious right now? Does he not realize I"m going to kill him?' Viktor let these thoughts race through his mind. "In the midst of a battle, in the midst of chaos, there is nothing fair. You should let your instincts guide you. Take every chance to hit the fight in one swift blow." Viktor sheathed his Zanpakuto. The ground however, did not revitalize, the ground was still dead and would remain that way for until nature retook its claim on this section of land. "In a fight there is nothing fair, had I not regained my composure I would've just killed you." Viktor picked his mask up and placed it back on his face. "Maybe we should start at a pace more fitting to a humans." Viktor flash stepped towards Arthur. "We'll play a simple game really, I'll flash step, constantly trying to avoid you and all you need to do is catch me. Should be easy enough, right?" Viktor flash stepped away from Arthur, bouncing from one spot to the next. "We'll make you as fast as me. Then we'll make you just as deadly." A smirk crossed Viktor's lips underneath mask.
Groaning, Arthur realized his fight with the Shinigami was far from over. Consigning himself to a long day, and possibly long night, he grabbed a shadow from the rock he had been hiding behind, the dirt ball he made, and stood ready to catch the Shinigami. Forming the shadow from the rock into a chain, and his own into shadow wings once more, he swapped weight with his shadow and took flight again, swinging the chain around himself. 'Maybe if I can touch him with the chain even once, I can tangle him up...' Tossing the dirt ball into the air as a distraction, he swung the chain toward the Shinigami. As the chain swung toward him, Arthur flapped toward him as well, using the shadow from the dirt ball as a small mask, to try and negate the mans poison if he unleashed his Zanpakuto again. "So basically, if I catch you I win, and then we move on the fun stuff, like how to counter your poison? Because I can't see us working together too well if your poison will kill me, as well as anyone we happen to fight together, you know what I mean, little buddy?"
