So I've been wondering this for awhile but only recently began to seriously try to think of how it works. Currently the Overwhelming Power Constant Release ability has this description:
This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%.
Now obviously this is the Shikai version (As it's 2x not 3x) but they both function the same mechanically, However what I'm wondering is how the portion that says: "This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user" functions. I've always believed that it meant that you couldn't use Reiatsu Sensing whilst in the presence of the user and, in my opinion, that's how it should function. However I've noticed not many seem to take this into account when in a thread and they mention sensing Reiatsu. Just wondering.

It says "scramble" not outright stop attempts at sensing. I'd imagine that they can still sense you in the general area. Since it does imply that your power is out of control. Like say they can feel you over to the left. But wouldn't be able to pick you out of a crowd.
