Tsukimizu, Takumi
Takumi had definitely had a rough day. He recalled the days events as he approached the training grounds, his muscle still aching from the heavy loads he had had to carry. He'd been assigned to what was probably the dullest job on the medical squad today...
Inventory.
OH how it sucked, but Takumi knew complaining would've only raised the already staggering amount of boxes he had to sort through, having slightly breached the 300's mark. He rubbed his shoulder with an open palm, sorely wanting a hot shower but knowing that the only way he would be able to relax until he released the tension of the pentup stress he currently held. Somewhere along the way on this hectic day, he had found the time to go over to the archives with approval from his superior to obtain a total of 5 scrolls. They were for very, very basic kido spells but he figured that it was the best way to go. Takumi didn't have his shinigami academy instructors coaching him through each spell step by step this time around, and he knew that if he had intended to learn these on his own, going back to basics was the best. He knew some high end spells, having chosen quality over quantity for his graduation since he knew that his current lack of proficiency in this subject meant he would have to compensate for by using some higher end spells that were allowed. Many that were versed in kido chose varying ranks and combined them or used them in non-conventional ways to obtain the board's approval, but Takumi knew he would screw that up. He was more cold and calculating than most, and knew his strength was in a clear, clean and precise execution of each spell that would hopefully display him as the perfectionist that he was. It had worked, since here he stood a graduated student and member of the Yonbantai, but he knew that for field work and missions, he would need a larger array of skills to pick from to avoid wasting all of the energy he would use for actual medical purposes on his fighting. Besides, as a medic, his job was to avoid the frontlines, and to only intervene when necessary, always protecting himself over others. Or, at least, that's what he was told. He knew he would never let others get hurt in vain while he stood back, and for that very reason he figured he should start training as much as he could, to be sure he didn't foolishly get himself killed before being able to fulfill his primary mission, healing.
Takumi arrived at the training grounds and placed the 5 scrolls in a neat line front of him. He would go in order, from most basic to most advanced (if you could even call any of these advanced). and he took the first and rolled it open across his palm softly. He looked over the scroll carefully, ensuring not to miss any of the details that were found written within. Despite it being the most basic destructive spell in the archives, it was still a hado art and not one he should be taken lightly.
It seemed simple enough, but if experience taught Takumi anything (AND BOY did he have experience in this) was that screwing up a kido was far easier than getting it correct. He put the scroll back in place and inched closer to his target, keeping a distance of about 4 yards between him and the training doll. His deep blue eyes squinted a bit as he focused his aim on the center of the doll and his reiatsu began to manifest around him, a watery veil covering him and condensing more strongly around his hand which was now pointed like a gun to the target, a single finger extended.
"Begone from me! Hadō no ichi: Shō!" He spoke firmly and calmly as the energy formed and snapped off his finger, but it held no true form and the target was entirely missed. He muttered a curse under his breath as his pressure dispelled. He sighed in frustration and slipped his shihakusho off his torso, feeling trapped under his clothes. the robes hung off his shoulders and revealed his slender frame, white toned skin and a enviable set of abs that always make girls squeal like pigs at him. Takumi found it annoying, but enjoyed the casual looks he got from some of the more liberal male shinigami that were aorund him. Several of them he had already confirmed just how... flexible, they were, he thought with a chuckle as he once against raised his spritual pressure as high as he could.
He decided to let go of the stress he had from earlier and to throw himself head first into his training, knowing full well worrying about what happened this morning wouldn't help him any in improving his situation so he wouldn't ever have to do inventory again. Or so Takumi hoped.
This time, he channelled all of his reiatsu to the tip of his finger, condensing it into a ball, though he was having issues keeping it from diffusing since energy would slip off the sides of the ball constantly. Takumi tried to force himself to concentrate and called out the incantation once again, and upon saying the name of the spell he snapped the energy forward. A small pellet of it first off and struck the target, scratching the target. The rest blew up in his face and knocked him on his firm ass. He stood, embarrassed and looking around to be sure nobody was looking at him. He dusted himself off with a quick spank to the cheeks and laughed, knowing he put a little too much oomph in his thrust.
"Well, it's not the first time that's happened!" He said, laughing outloud to himself before wiping a quick tear from under his deep blue eye. Takumi composed himself and once again formed the translucent blue watery cloak of reiatsu he had come to be known for, and instead of channeling it all to his finger, he let it cover his full figure and regulated the amount of reiryoku that went up his arm and to his hand. He chose a more free position to give his hand, aiming with his finger but the rest of his hand open slightly and relaxed.
"Begone from me! Hadō no ichi: Shō!" He cried out with authority, the bolt blasting off his finger like a bullet in a straight line, slamming into the doll and knocking it back, creating a large crack in the wood which was audible from the several yards at which Takumi stood. The brown haired medical shinigami looked very pleased with himself, examining the doll closely.
"On a being that is a weak as this doll at least, this means a cracked rib. Any shinigami worth his weight wouldn't be injured that badly, but would definitely be thrown off, which is the point. I'm pretty happy with this." He said matter of factly, before heading back to the bench to grab the next scroll, excited that he was seeing progress despite not having the any instruction besides the scroll.
