Meeting her Captain (cont) [Shiro]

Toshiro nodded as Fuurinji spoke again.

“I’m glad to hear that. Now as for the rest of the rules and duties of the squad, there are not many. We have training sessions pretty regularly and you are expected to attend them unless there are circumstances that cannot be controlled such as having patrol or being on a mission. You will have a place to stay here in the barracks with the rest of the members, it should be easy to find I believe this should have all of the information involving the living quarters.” Toshiro said calmly handing her a piece of paper which he had previously scrawled information of which area was hers as well as a few small notes about the general surroundings, such as where major needs were located.

“As for that, most everything else you should be able to learn with time. It takes time to integrate yourself into a group and feel like you’re a part of them. I understand that and as I said if you ever feel that you are not being appropriately welcomed, please do come to see me and I will try my best as to make sure things are fixed up for you as best as possible.”

Toshiro paused for a moment before speaking again, thinking in his mind that it had been a while since he had had a new addition to the squad, he welcomed the addition, but hoped that everything would work well with her integration and that she would be able to seemingly work well with everyone, it was always a concern with new members of any group after all.

“Do you have any more questions for me? Anything you would like to see or the like? I think I’ve covered most everything I have to say, but please if there is more you need to know just tell me.”

Toshiro listened patiently at first believing their conversation was about to end, however it would seem that the young shinigami would be yet again intrigued to ask another question. This question however stemmed back to when they had first “met” or rather the first time the girl had seen Toshiro, years ago when she was young and her and her sister’s lives were almost ended. She wanted to see what it was that he had used in order to help save their lives, what it was that was able to deal with the menos on that day.

Toshiro smiled slightly his tone calm and collected, “I don’t believe this is the appropriate time for that to occur. I’m sure with time though you’ll be able to see exactly what it was that I needed to use in order to stop him that day, but not here and not now.”

It was clear the young shinigami like most had an unrefined reiatsu control compared to some, but she was of course fresh from the academy that much was expected and even he himself had trouble back a ways doing just that as well. She would have to overcome it in some manner if she wished to deceive her opponents, that or she would of course need to develop stronger skills in other areas to mask this flaw, the choice was all hers and how she worked with her weakness and flaws could ultimately determine her fate one day.

Toshiro thought for a moment before speaking, “If you do want to see it though, you need to get stronger. Rise throughout the squad. Eventually I will show it to you when you are ready, be it when the two of us spar together or even maybe in a mission if you are given the opportunity. Does that seem fair? It at the same time can give you a short term goal, to get stronger to show yourself worthy to the squad.”

“When you grower stronger and when I feel you are ready I will test you. That is most likely the first time you will get a glimpse of the power you saw that day. The day you might see how I may have improved from that day, after all back then I was not a captain yet. I was but a simple member of this squad like yourself, the potential is within every one of us in the squad to rise to the level you saw that day and I expect you all to try and do your best to do so.”

“So to answer your question shortly, yes you can see those powers and skills, but not now at this time.”
