Why don't they grant advantages? If they don't grant advantages then they basically do nothing!

But they have to have an actual purpose because I mean even when you go Arrancar you have to choose between the buff and HSR...

Well for one thing, it's a buff you're not usually able to do outside of release. That, plus on top of the other perks you have for being Vasto Lorde. It's mainly for balance reasons.

Pretty sure you're thinking of Vastocar. Regular VL hollow have the buff applied at all times.
The thing is is that advantages are literally the only thing that buffs give you. So I mean sure, if "balance issues" means not actually doing anything at all?
Please correct me if I am correct though and they actually do something but AFAIK a buff without the advantages is not actually a buff because as soon as it comes to calculations even if you are passively 1.5x as fast if there is no adv. to back that up then it's meaningless.
