Theme: Reconstructing Science RemixWhat was a generator? Mikhail took a deep sigh. A generator was an engine forced under constant change fluctuation. In an engine, there were four or more magnets. At least two pair of magnets, which were all connected. Due to some clever wiring, the polarisation pushed and pulled the rotor inside the engine and caused movement. A normal engine. But, a generator worked with the same principle. Around each end of the metal there were copper coils. These coils, when subjected to a change in polarity due to an inversed current, worked up a current to retain their magnetism. While these currents are dangerous for diodes, they're unable to be used to generate any kind of proper electricity. So, he had to make several coils with a fluctuation field wide enough to force up a reverse current by cutting eachother's magnetical trajectories. Through that, there would be friction in their poles and magnetism, thus, generating electricity. He reckoned four coils would do it if the power source was adequate. And his own reiatsu seemed more than adequate. In essence, he was making a way to cause his reiatsu to be liquified and create electricity. Yet the theory of it was just the hard part. With a soft grunt, Mikhail lifted the hood of the car currently in the workshop.

When he was done undoing the screws, he threw the screwdriver over his shoulder and turned around to grab a large metal construction with chains. Something to lift the engine with.
He placed the construct over the hood and attached the chain to the engine. He didn't have the recources to create his own coils from scratch, so he had to salvage what he could. Pull the ferrous metal from the coils since they narrowed the fluctuation fields, which was good in an engine.
But not as good in a generator
Then he'd need to hook them up in a paralell fashion, connect to the source and actually salvage several pieces of the engine that could turn his reiatsu into movement, like any engine found in a car. It was injected with air and a certain fuel, ignited to explode and create movement that way. So he had to hook a dynamo in the construction aswell that would constantly reverse it's currents and cause the four coils to generate power that was actually usable. Usable for lights and usable for powertools.
And as soon as he had access to the latter, he could really start working.
Mikhail took a deep sigh.
Time to unhook these coils and line them up neatly.

The youngster wiped some sweat from his brow as he took a deep sigh. The coils were finally removed and layed on his workbench, neatly aligned. Alright, he had the first set of materials. Now he had to dissassemble the engine further to get the actual conversion part of the construct. The components that would change his reiatsu into movement that would create some kind of electricity, which in turn would power the coils to generate more.
Then he just had to replace lightbulbs and hook the installation up and he had electricity. Simple. Or so he hoped.
Mikhail turned around to the engine again. Working without powertools was a pain. But it was managable. He just had to take his time and consideration. Parts would be broken naturally. But aslong as it wasn't vital to this device, it was just collateral damage. Unimportant to the current state of affairs. The first thing he had to do now was making sure he had a steady supply of power. Priorities were key here. He could build other things when he had access to more tools and recources. All in good time.
He walked over to the engine, screwdriver and prybar brandished. The tools of an engineer. A monkey wrench hung from his pocket, a hammer laid on the floor next to it. He had to smash weldings out of place to get what he needed off.

With a loud clunk, the wrench dropped to the floor, with a soft thud, Mikhail dropped down next to it, holding a large chunk of metal in his hands. A beaming smile plastered across his lips. he looked down at the cilinders in his hands and rested back with a soft sigh, before getting to his feet with a loud groan again. Several hours had already gone past.
He wiped the sweat off of his brow with his forearm. So, he now had the second part of his machine. All that was left to connect the two together and condition the electricity with resistors. Something he would find in the car's more sophisticated hardware, no doubt.
He placed the part on his workbench, along with the other parts and went to work. Loose windings had to do know, he didn't have the power to weld or tin wax the pieces together. It was dangerous and stupid, having an exposed source like that which could possibly have unconditioned surges of fivehundred volts. But, there were no alternatives. He would make a more safer solution for it later. After he was done here and actually had the proper powertools to do so.
And with a soft roll of his shoulders, Mikhail went to work.

Mikhail pulled the radio out of the socket and raised his hand, practically ramming it into it and cracking through the small sheet metal that held it up. He pulled out several wires, before several crows wriggled through the opening. His eyes lit up and red smoke errupted from his left as the creatures sought around inside the car, cawing loudly. Other of the crows made their way into the hood, knowing what Mikhail needed.
Mikhail stepped out of the car again, holding the radio in his hand. He juggled it slightly in his hand. Perhaps he could use this thing later. He put the device somewhere on his toolbox and sighed slowly. Connecting it was, unsafe and flimsy it was. Limited resources made genius thrive, after all. Mikhail glanced back as several crows landed besides him with pieces of ripped electronics. Several resistors and other devices he had to hook up. He sighed softly. Calculating them would be a pain.
After a short while, Mikhail leaned back from his desk and looked with pride at the construction he had just achieved. It was flimsy and quite rickety. He just needed a proper case to keep every part in order and relativly safe. But, he did it. All that was left now was to hook it up to the cable that were still present, change the lightbulbs. Minor ailments he could easily cure.
Now he just had to produce fuel for the thing.
