Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
She walked into the training grounds, her mind going over the information she had read earlier. The kido was simple, just a variation of one of her favourites, byakurai. She just had to move her reiatsu a little differently that was all. She started setting up the dummies she would need to make sure that the kido was working properly.
"Now let's see what were the words again..." She pondered for a moment as she stepped back from the dummies putting distance between them and herself."Ah, yes that's right." She smiled as it came to mind. She raised her hand and pointed at the dummies before speaking, as her reiryoku pooled in her finger tips. "Carry the arched fool to the gates of torn hearts, hado #15 Ichiren Byakurai." She released her reiryoku and the bolt of lightning shot forward, only to break off way too early, branching out in random directions. One of which came back and hit her.

She lay on the ground, twitching from the electrical shock that had hit her. Well, she'd definitely gotten that wrong somewhere somehow. After a moment or two she regained control of her body and stood to her feet. Well that was an experience she'd rather avoid. She shook it off and a huffed a breath. Well then, she'd need to get that shit together. "Carry the arched fool to the gate of torn hearts, Hado #15 Ichiren Byakurai."
Once more she collected the necessary reiryoku and fired the lightning. She paid careful attention to her reiatsu as the kido travelled she could feel it wanting to turn back to her the closest target, but she willed it forward. It hit the first dummy with a crack and it caught fire, it skipped to the next, the same happening and then to the third before the kido died out. Well she'd managed to hit three out of her intended five. Clearly she needed to practice this particular kido a little more. No matter she'd made some headway at least. She walked over to the dummies to set up a few more, clearly she was going to be her here for awhile trying to get this down pat.

She set up about twenty more dolls before going back to where she had been standing before. Ok now to do this again. She gathered her reiryoku in her right index finger and pointed at the first of the set of dolls. "Carry the arched fool to the gate of torn hearts, Hdo #15 Ichiren Byakurai." She fired her kido and it quickly ate up the distance going from one to the second, to the third and then to the fourth before dying out. She wouldn't stop there, she pointed her finger at the next like on dummies.
"Carry the arched fool to the gate of torn hearts, Hado #15 Ichiren Byakurai." She built up more reiryoku and fired the kido once more. Again she hit one, two, three and four dummies. She gritted her teeth, this was a simple kido. It shouldn't be requiring her this much work to just land five blows with it. Not that she had much experience in making Kidos bounce. She pointed her finger at the next set of dummies, already building up her reiryoku. "Carry the arched fool to the gate of torn hearts, Hado #15 Ichiren Byakurai." This time for sure, one, two, three, four and five. She smiled but she didn't stop turning to the next set and firing the kido again. She would continue until the remain dummies were incinerated, just for good measure. She wanted to know she had it completely on lock, which did seem to be the case.
"Well I suppose that's enough for today. I guess I'll go home for now and come back later to learn something else."
She turned on her heels and walked off heading back to her room to take and a shower and get some rest.

Again she was back, ready to put in more work and take herself to the next level. She wasn't here to train simple kido this time. Well it was still simple but more complicated than the last though she was sure to still be able to grasp it quickly. If she'd remembered what she had studied earlier correctly this kido she had in mind worked very similarly to a very basic kido. Shō, though this wasn't what she was here to learn even though it was useful in it's own right. Right now she wanted to learn a more versatile method to apply the same principle that was behind Shō, Hado #29 Hokoshō. Basically the idea was to turn her reiryoku into a lance of sorts and then propel it in the same manner as one would when throwing a javelin or the like. Though she wouldn't rush right into the practical stuff yet, she remembered her training session with Nessa and was sure if she followed that example, learning kido would be a lot easier.
"Now, the incantation. The tempered Lance, forged in the fires of Purgatory, the harbinger of Asura's fury! Rend through the heavens and strike down your foe! Again. The tempered Lance, forged in the fires of Purgatory, the harbinger of Asura's fury! Rend through the heavens and strike down your for!" She did this again and again repeating the phrase to herself making sure it stuck, she wanted it to be automatic to her, until she get to the point of her other kido where she didn't need the incantation at all, but that would take more practice than just having the incantation burned into her mind. Still she felt this was a necessary step towards that goal.

Eventually after a few hours of repeating the incantation over and over she had it down pat, she didn't need to think or try to remember the words. They just came to her when knew what she wanted. Now she had to get the form down in order to carry out the execution. She built up the reiryoku and focused it in her hand, her mind already imaging it shaping into a lance like object.
"Now, the incantation. The tempered Lance, forged in the fires of Purgatory, the harbinger of Asura's fury! Rend through the heavens and strike down your foe!"
She spoke the words and then let the reiryoku begin to change shape as the kido took it's effect. It extended and began to change in appearance. The process was slow, taking too much time for her to imaging how she wanted the reiryoku to flow, she needed that be as automatic as the the words for the incantation. She dispelled the kido and then started to chant the incantation once more. "Now, the incantation. The tempered Lance, forged in the fires of Purgatory, the harbinger of Asura's fury! Rend through the heavens and strike down your foe!"
Again she allowed the image of a lance to appear within her mind, doing her best to try and shape the reiryoku as quickly as possible. She did it, quicker than the last time, but still not as well as she would have liked. She wanted it to be something instant. Once more she dispelled the kido and restarted the process. She would continue this until she had it down pat.

Another couple of hours went by of her doing image training and shaping the reiryoku. Now she had it down pretty much as well as she could manage. It was quick, but she felt she could be quicker. Still it was time for her to actually test the mechanics of this kido is practicality and not just theory. Time to put the last few hours of work into action. She went ahead and set up a practice dummy and then proceeded to walk back a few meters distancing herself from her target. She was about 45 - 50 meters away. This would be good enough.
"Ok, we got this." Se began to build up her reiryoku as she took a breath and relaxed herself. "The tempered Lance, forged in the fires of Purgatory, the harbinger of Asura's fury! Rend through the heavens and strike down your foe! Hado #29 Hokoshō." The reiryoku shifted and changed as spoke the incantation forming the lance in her hand. She took a running start, three paces before a fourth came down with most of her weight behind it to bring her to skidding stop as she threw the lance, allowing her momentum to propel it forwards. It soared high and fast as she allowed it to leave her grasp and then came down crashing hard into the dummy. Shiori nodded and entered a shunpo carrying herself over to the dummy. There it lay on the ground with a hole in it's chest. If she had to say, she'd managed to get this one down fairly quickly. Guess it was time for her to clean up, head home and get some rest for tomorrow.
