Mountains of god
crumble before man
Mountains of man
crumble before me
"A grain of sand in the shadow of a pebble. A pebble in the shadow of a rock. A rock in the shadow of a boulder. A boulder in the shadow of a mountain. A mountain, one day, to stand in the shadow of me". Yorishou murmured, depicting his words on a slab of jagged stone in front of him. His sword making sharp, controlled, chiselling movements to carve images. Making life out of cold stone.
Yorishou Kiyoshi had sworn one day to defeat a mountain. To conquer that which man could only dream of avoiding, to climb over a mountain would be heresy. A subjucation of the man by the mountain, animate flesh, held servant. Defeated, by that which stands the tallest, moves the least, defiant to the last. But he was adamant it would serve him, when he was strong enough to prove himself the master.
Sitting at the far end of the training grounds, he found the clash of swords calming, the swish of the blade as it arced through the air and the hiss as the edge carves into the flesh. He watched man after man fall, the victors limping off the field. The healers rushing on, desperate to stop the blood flow. He did not quite understand the need for healing, if you were training to get tougher, getting healed would just negate the fight. If you want to be stronger, then why, when you have lost a fight, would you remove the only lesson you learn from it. But as much as he liked fighting, and haven gone through several shinigami already, he felt like today he would meet his match.
And hopefully prove himself worthy of getting back into the field.
A small boy walked passed as a few people injured with their swords in tatters were walking away when one of them recognised the small little bundle of no joy. The injured guys began making haste and one person about to enter for training saw the boy and just ran away. There were some who knew him from his academy days and a very very select few knew him from the kido corps. However there were also a few training ground regulars who had witnessed this small boy Aoi release a kido numbering in the forties. He was in an epic fight with the squid girl which was not really a caught on nickname but when your zanpakuto's main ability is using ink the first thing you think of is a squid. Then we have the girl who made people feel sick with her dangerous personality, though it was actually a deeper meaning or less deep depending on how you looked at it.
The people were backing away as he came to a training post and drew his short sword and cut off the head of the training post as he looked slightly disappointed. He had come for training but he damaged a lot of the training gear a few days ago, there was some strange guy standing around the same area as he looked to the man before yawning slightly. He rubbed his eyes and began to make his way back to headquarters walking rather slowly out of boredom.

What sounded like wood hitting the floor stirred Yorishou from his thoughts. He had not noticed the silence that had fallen upon the training grounds, however the cause was definitly apparent. A young shinigami walking towards the entrance, gathering quite the gaze from the looks of it. If this boy was someone, then he was either popular or noble. Either way, it may have created an interesting fight. But he was not the type to start fights with random people, especially with random people he would not normally fight. That is, people who did not want to fight him.
"Damn" He cursed under his breath. His blade sheathed itself in the rock he was drawing on. A surge of reiatsu moving through it, unleashing a blast from inside the rock. A loud crack rang out as shards of his drawing flew into the air, but not fast enough to harm anyone.
"Are you guys going to stare at young boys all day or are one of you going to man up and fight me already". He spoke like he was talking to everyone, but his gazed remained on the boy. By singling him out as the focus of attention, he hoped to provoke him. The very act made him uncomfortable, but there was no turning back, lest he look a fool.
The air around them changed as a beast had been awakened as he heard the words 'young boys' and the word 'stare'. The first thought to those who understood the situation was that the kid is about to make an explosion as they all began running away. Only a few strong people stayed behind, an old man who was basically just practicing basic two handed sword strike and two new guys who did not know better were sparring in the back ground using unskilled sword strikes to clash against one another. As the boy looked around he could not tell who it was, but a part of him felt like his time was being wasted as he looked at the four who remained.
That old man was usually at the training ground and normally said nothing at all like some kind of cutting robot, and the two knew guys were so busy clashing that it was clear they had no time to talk right now. He walked over to the left over guy as his reiatsu was tensing up as je stopped before the guy attacking a rock.
"Do you know who was staring at me?"
His reiatsu was denser right now as he seemed ready to do something at any moment. For outside training Aoi always wore the shino' academy beginner outfit modified slightly due to the number of times it had to be repaired.
Post by Yorishou Kiyoshi on May 5, 2016 11:31:57 GMT
He was quickly regretting the decision to pick a fight for no reason other than he wanted a fight. Mentally kicking himself for not just asking the kid to a fight, instead he had to insult and goad. What a great idea you idiot. "Stand firm. You have made your choice, hold it." his zan rarely spoke to him, but when it did, it said crap like that.
He looked the kid dead in the eye, wrenching his sword out of the ground in a shower of stone. His own reiatsu burst out to contest the others, two immense invisible walls clashed, the earth around him shifting, the stone he drew on turning to sand. "Only those that know who you are. And they left in a hurry" indicating with a glance the shinigami rushing out of the area. Glancing over thier shoulders in what could only be described as little bitch face.
A crowd of a few dozen had gathered on the other side of the training grounds, on most days a decent fight like this could be found randomly starting. But rarely in such an awkward manner, it seemed word had spread quickly. "But if people know you, then that means you are worth something." He lowered his head, bending his knees back and grinning "And that means you are worth fighting. At least, I ferverently hope so."
He swung his sword around himself twice, as though testing the weight in preperation for the fight. "Are we doing this in release or out? I assume you have one or this fight could be very short lived." Fully aware he was laying it on thick, but with his zan egging him on and adrenaline taking hold he could not help it.
"Not another one, how many more of you squad eleven rejects do I have to beat up"
He did not release his zanpakuto as he drew it out sighing, "A real shinigami does not simply show his release to a wild beast who can never understand it. At least that is one of the older guys said when I asked for a spar."
As he was done trash talking or truth saying he took a deep breathe then began by flash stepping back to a medium distance. He then held out his left hand and made a come on stance with his left hand beckoning him to bring it while the boy kept his right hand on his zanpakuto. To be honest all he needed was his left hand to fight this guy, or at least that is how he saw it since all these squad eleven guys ran head first into fights rather that thinking about it.
The day was ripe for another squad eleven training session, if he beat up anymore members from the eleventh barracks he might have to deal with some really troublesome people. He saw that one guy who looked like a girl crossed dressed as a man cross dressed as a girl. The chills as he began to wonder how this barbarian would react

Yorishou pondered upon this, the faulty logic she had given as to why her release could not be shown. The point of someone elses release is that its theirs, why would someone else understand it. That's like refusing to shoot someone with a gun unless they can draw you a diagram of how the gun works. He would never assume the opponant knew how his powers worked until he showed them. In fact, by the logic of the small boy, no one would ever use powers. Because the opponant, unless a widely known kido, would not understand the tech until the effect was created. But they would never see that, as they could not use it, as the tech would not be known to them. The connotations of the statement made his head hurt.
"Well if I am a beast then you had better be the hunter, because in a game of cat and mouse there is only one way to win..." He pushed forwards, his sword to the left of him, running fast at the opponent, dust kicked up behind him, creating a large trail. This would be where he found out the opponents power, the distance he had created assumed a kidou or something that required distance or time. Or perhaps he was close up and wanted the satisfaction of making Yorishou come to him. There was practically no way to tell with all the personalities and powers he had seen over the years. Whatever happened, the next move would tell him if this would be a worthy fight or not.
The boy dashed backwards as the man approached as he made the words he needed. It was not a case of speed, even if running forwards is faster the time it takes to catch up was all the time he had ever needed. His opponent felt it important to talk and attack at the same time which probably made better sense then just standing there talking as the words that left the boy's mouth were.
"Hadō #48 Onkyō Shakkahō"
The boy's stance was holding his blade at an angle more horizontal then vertical with his right hand in order to block, parry or defend against any normal strikes. Meanwhile the left hand he would use to fire the kido was close to his chest in order to keep his blade further out so if the enemy went for his hand he could defend it. This kido was a bit over the top and was nearing the fifties as a large crimson flame blasted forth in a large area that would easily hit the enemy's face along with the rest of his body. This boy was known for his explosions but this was over the top as a large crimson flame would explode on the seen as some spectators would slap their foreheads.
{TECH}Name: Hadō #48 Onkyō Shakkahō (Echoing Shot of Red Fire) ** Class: Kido Tier: IV Type: Offensive Range: Long (50m) Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! The scorched Earth bears the mark of your bane. The demon waits at the end of the twisted halls of pandemonium, eyes filled with furor, in the torrents of Hell! Description: Fires a screeching arrow-tip shaped blast of crimson flames. The speed is that of a Cero, and leaves a scorching trail in its path. Due to its shape, it may pierce through its target at equal advantages before exploding

A sense of satisfaction, smugness, even ease. Settled over Yorishou, a false sense of superiority as he saw the meager force his opponent had sent against him. Now, he may not know as much about kidou as others, but when someone backs away and holds up a flat palm at you. They are either being really cocky, or are about to use a long ranged tech. The thing you have to realize about a fighter, is that they know their weakness. You show me a fighter that does not know that and I will show you a dead one. But, the main weakness being close combat, meaning they are very vulnerable at long ranged. Its like being the goalie in a football match, you know the ball is coming, sometimes you are not sure where from, or who from, how it will be kicked or if the guy kicking it is sleeping with your wife, but you know it is coming. And Yorishou knew that too.
A burst of red fire covered his opponent from view, to a humans eyes it would be a quick flash and a painless death. But to Yorishou, it was a flare moving in water. 'Stepping' to the side, out of the wide path of what seems to be an arrow, he continued running at his opponent, quickly closing the gap between then and 'stepping' again lest he should fire off another at a closer range. He continued 'stepping' to the sides until he is close to the boy, then swiping at him from left to right with his sword. Hopefully now the actually fight could begin and the firework display would sit on the backburner.
As he heard that familiar sound of a step in motion, he was a bit shocked that a member of the eleventh squad simply went for a dodge motion. The steps might be impressive, but did his opponent not realise that this might have been what he wanted as he whispered those words very softly.
"Hadō #33 Sōkatsui" The sword attack might be impressive as he blocked it with an opposing side held defensive block with his right arm using the blade to cut off the swing as he then fired from his left hand a blast of blue fire with the red trail from his crimson flame in front of him and his blue flame now planning to blast this new location. However this was not his only trick and he was simply blasting his opponent with force to either get him to take a hit or to have his opponent keep dodging as much as he wants. It was not as if his opponent had reached a level where he could out step the boy, at the very least the speed of his step seemed similar to his own.
Though it was a matter of seeing if his opponent would take blasts in the face or simply run away from the coming of the blue flames
{TECH} [TECH] Name: Hadō #33 Sōkatsui (Blue Fire, Crash Down) Class: Kido Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: Long (70m) Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! Description: Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to Shakkahō at x10 Cero Speed, but over a wider area and with more power. As he heard that familiar sound of a step in motion, he was a bit shocked that a member of the eleventh squad simply went for a dodge motion. The steps might be impressive, but did his opponent not realise that this might have been what he wanted as he whispered those words very softly.
His blade got knocked a bit out of place from this weird sudden attack which was probably a weapon skill or perhaps and was not sure why his opponent proved to be just that a barbarian taking his kido to the face before hitting his blade with some weak technique afterwards. Why break his defence and make him lose a bit of footing just to take a huge blast to the face, then follow up with a technique that even weaker then the attack he used to break the defence. Actually this attack was so weak he was regaining his footing already.
Did his opponent hold back at the last second, or was he just reacting to the pain of taking the hit itself. He was glaring at his opponent as he pointed his finger quickly using the fastest kido attack in all of soul society.
"Hadō #4 Byakurai"
A blue beam like lightning would blast towards the gut of his opponent at a speed that was unmatched in terms of its offensive speed, however this was simply a decoy as he would proceed with actions based on his opponents method of engagement
If he decided to be all squad eleven and take another hit out of ignorance the next thing that would follow would be an intense glare at his opponent. If he decided to take the hit out of just being hurt then he would sigh feeling like his opponent is a disappointment.
If the opponent dodged in an attempt to flee he would conceal himself with "Bakudo #26 Kyokko"
Though his opponent could choose to dodge in order to attack which would be the moment he would flash step to the side and stab at his opponent's unguarded rear.
There was another option, but whether his opponent was beyond Aoi's predictions had to remain to be seen
{TECH}Name: Hadō #4 Byakurai (Pale Lightning) Class: Kido Tier: II Type: Offensive Range: Medium (30m) Incantation: Broiling black, fervent heat, be rejected! Description: The user gathers high-density reiryoku, which they discharge from both hand. Alternatively, they point at their target with their index finger and generate a concentrated bolt of lighting towards them. It's speed is x.1.5 faster than a Bala, unique to it.
Name: Bakudo #26 Kyokko (Curving Light) Class: Kido Type: Supplementary Tier: III Range: Self Incantation: Description: Hides the target from sight by bending light. This Kidō can completely mask the presence and reiatsu of the target from detection but if any other combat technique is activated, this Kidou is overwhelmed and broken.

His senses returned, he was disapointed to see kido again. Did this kid have no power himself? Was it all textbook kido, on the lines of his captain, by the words of his teachers and awe of his friends? It was sad to see such a talented kid go to waste on something that required no imagination.
The kido was fast, faster than he had seen before, but the fault with it, as they all had, is the words. It allowed an opponant to dodge almost before the kido has been fired. Not quite before. But those miliseconds added up, and as such Yorishou was already stepping to the side when it was fired. Turning mid-step and lunging out of it towards the boy.
"Huh" as his hands met thin air, the space where the boy had been devoid of him. A quick sensing told him he was not nearby as well, though that was not much to go by. Followed by a searching turn as he looked around confused. "Looks like I win then" he said glumly to himself, with a sigh. The boy probably got bored and went home. Yorishou turned, sheathing his sword and kicking dirt up towards the entrance, starting the walk back. Dust swirling around his feet but not gathering on his clothes.
The small boy stabbed at the side of Yorishou's back and then made a quick whispering of words.
"Hadō #48 Onkyō Shakkahō!!"
Regardless of whether stealthy stabbing was enough he would blast a large crimson explosion to the back of the man who was clearly being careless. A few old men began face palming as they wondered why someone would turn their back to an opponent without confirming a victory or retreat. This carelessness was a regular occurrence with squad eleven members as the people had yet to see the outcome of this massive explosion to the rear of the enemy. The oncoming storm of things yet to come as the boy remembered something taught to him when he first learned about the secret art of kyokko.
The small boy had been told that sometimes the only way to fight is to never be seen, and at other times being seen is the same as not being there in the first place. Never turn your back on the enemy, and always confirm results before taking the fools word for it. Not sensing reiatsu in a world where people are so skilled as to hide it, if not hidden all the shinigami would be using sky scrapers for swords and making explosions with their sheer spiritual power alone. You must control the battlefield and control yourself. Which is something an old man once told Aoi in the human world.

It happened so fast, so suddenly and powerful. Yorishou was suprised the boy had been alive so long with suicidal tactics like that. The surge of power was his only sign of what was to come. It was only by pure luck that he moved first to the right, going to turn around.
The boys blade would slid through his kimono, coming out in the space between his hip and arm. Which, as he thought about it, would probably have thrown the boys balance off a little as it had met no resistance. His eyes widened, thanking the god of whoever just stopped him getting skewered. The, he assumed a kido, burst from behind him. A stinging sensation and a mighty explosion engulfed him.
Yorishou went flying forwards, the clothes and some of the skin on his back in tatters, heavy burns as well. 20ft into the air at least then back down into the dirt. His body slumped in the grass, trying desperatly to move, his ears ringing, eyes blurry and blood everywhere. His body soon cleaned up but the wounds were still there. He could only imagine how the boy had faired, taking a hit like that to the face. Or at least he would do when the ground stopped spinning and the nausua settled.
(To clarify, the explosion dealt tier IV damage to yorishou's back, his soul resiliance high enough to stop it piercing his body, however still inflicting heavy wounds. However, your kido is at advanced, and your soul resil is at aa, meaning your offensive is higher than your defensive. Making the tier IV to essentially a tier V, which just exploded point blank in your face.)
The attack with his sword was some what tangled by the untidy or messed up robes of the shinigami as he followed up with his plan of attack. However the kido made contact as he knew the one thing you should normally do with a beautiful explosion. Upon impact only those with great skill would see what happened. The child's technique with the blade was good but did not account for the man's clothing getting some what entangled but simply passing through the cloth of the robes that saved the man from a painful cut to the back.
The boy however did the unthinkable and released an explosive kido at a range that was a bit insane as the moment it made contact the boy flashed away his hair being singed and some charred markings on his outfit. His soshi would not be happy to find him burning or exploding his clothing, however it was not his kidoshu outfit so it was all okay as he slipped and fell on his back about ten meters away from the explosion as he watched the crimson flaming trail as the man went flying into the air. He was a bit shocked as he tried to figure out why the man went up and not just straight forward.
He then got a bit annoyed, thanks to how short he was the attack was at a somewhat lower angle which is why the man got shot up into the air. He was annoyed but not done yet as he watched as the flames were burning near his opponent before dissipating as dust settled and the man would have to show him that he was tough enough to make such a foolish challenge in the training grounds.
He knew how painful explosions were but he was more interested in how beautiful they could be, if he had to grade it he would give eight out of ten for this explosion. A perfect ten would have been if the crimson flame flared up into the sky. He took a breather so that he would be able to release the flames once again. Was this the end or would the man stand up and show him some resolve.
Post by Yorishou Kiyoshi on May 9, 2016 11:15:39 GMT
Yorishou stumbled to his feet, uneasy at first but quickly gaining his footing. Adrenaline fighting his trauma for control, the adrenaline winning over easily when his resolve had settled on the fight. His eyes came into focus as the last of the fire died away. He left his sword on the ground, it had fallen out from the landing.
It had been a spectacular explosion, a glance to the crowd told him that. A few thumbs up in support were sent his way, but e knew they did not really care, they just wanted to entertainment to continue.
Fine, he thought, if the kid wanted to play dirty, he could play dirty. One foot in front of the other, arching his back and walking towards the boy. Raising his head, he called out "I must congradulate you on a tactic well executed" putting his hand near his sheat, pulling back the kimono. It would show, if the boy had no already noticed, he no longer had his sword.
He walked casually, relaxed as though he had come over to discuss something. When three meters away, he would 'step' towards the boy, turning twice mid step and appearing behind him. His sword flashed out from under his kimono, slashing the boy from bottom left to top right. The "wait for it..." mark on the boys sword would be used as he came out behind the boy from the step, knocking the boys sword to the boys left with tier III force. Yorishous sword becoming a hammer at the end of the slash, and dropping down into his legs. This would curve backwards and up, sending the boy flying upwards assuming his legs collapse out. If the legs do not collapse then the kneecaps break.
Techniques used:
name: The Bone Breaker class: Weapon skill type: Offensive range: Close tier: III description: Using this ability shrouds the users sword in a giant reiatsu hammer which is 7ft long from the sword handle with a 3ft barrel head. This weighs the same as the sword to the user, does tier III blunt, brute force damage and weighs 280lbs to the points of impact. Lasts 6 posts.
name: Recall class: Weapon skill type: Supplementary range: 200m tier: I description: Using this ability returns the users sword to its sheath instantly.
The boy's heart began to race as he witnessed the man seemingly shrug off his beautiful explosion, perhaps it was acting tough or just playing it cool. However to have one of his kido arts insulted so blatantly as if learning this middle rank kido was not even good enough to put an ordinary shinigami down. The boy was upset and annoyed, however the man then did something even more unthinkable.
He began making an approach to fight the boy without his sword, was it hand to hand combat again. Then within close range the man stepped and recalling his blade attacked, the small boy Aoi was annoyed that his opponent would think him too weak to handle a weapon.
Then it was this dirty trick of actually being able to use his weapon as the bow swung back to deflect the attack, however he felt the blow and what seemed like a second blow to his weapon as he gripped it hard he flew up into the air as he felt like the man was toying with him. The zanpakuto knew what was going on and simply prepared itself as the boy seemed to float in the air and in a whispering voice.
"reflect, Kagami" as his spiritual pressure rose up as his sword doubled in length as he held the long blade and looked down upon the enemy as he fell down landing on his feet if uninterrupted.
"How could you!!" as his reiatsu seemed to be running wild as his technique was beginning to activate.
{Tech}Name: Reflective Reiatsu Class: Shikai Tier: Tier II,III - IV Type: Passive/Defensive Range: Tier II - 1 meter radius, Tier III - 5 meter radius, Tier IV - 20 meter radius Description: A light passive aura appears around the user, it is not that clearly visible but its presence is felt when close and has a spherical shape. At Tier II this technique will passively block a technique with advantages equal to it and reflect all techniques of lower advantages. The user may increase this range to Tier III and it also gains the ability to knockback anyone until they are outside of the five meter radius that the third tier extends to. Tier IV has the abilities of the previous tiers but with increased range and a cooldown. While on cooldown the passive is disabled.

"How could I? If you want to play dirty kid I can play that all day long" His sword faded back into a sword. Levelling it at his eye line "If you want to play with the big boys, fighting in release is a start" he twirled his sword from side to side.
"I stand as a stone in the wake of the mountain, Valkyrie" His reiatsu burst downwards, making a crater around his body and sending stones and dirt flying. His kimono ripped into confetti as red armour crept up his arm, falling around him, he flicked the sword to the side. It had grown in size and shape, and Yorishous clothes had also changed to a grey theme with a long scarf.
He smiled, looking the boy in the eye and sending his reiatsu pressure charging forwards to meet his. "Now, show me what you got" he and his zanpakutou spirit said at the same time. To cheers from the onlooking crowd. His arms open wide, inviting his opponant to the first strike.
His opponent began speaking of playing dirty and that dirty playing can be done all day long. The small boy did not understand the nonsense that was being spoken, but being tricked was an issue of pride not about what was right or wrong. The guy was all showing off with some baton twirling, or at least that is what he felt it was as the man spoke about standing stones in the wake of a mountain. So was this man suppose to be a rock that will grow to become a mountain and the name Valkyrie was not a common name and he did notice one thing though, if it was not for his passive aura the reiatsu of the opponent's zanpakuto was at a level higher than his. Perhaps his opponent mastered his shikai, and to be honest the small boy Aoi had come really close to mastering the final technique of his blade.
His reiatsu began flaring as the boy announced something as some sort of challenge.
"Will you be kind and take this one more time"
An energy seemed to fill the air as he took a breathe to prepare to use the technique again as he spoke
"Hadō #33 Sōkatsui"
This was simply a method of testing his opponent out before unleashing his true power. He was not that good at holding back at this level and his techniques were not ones you could underestimate under any circumstance as the blue flashing explosive blast headed straight towards this man.
{TECH}Name: Hadō #33 Sōkatsui (Blue Fire, Crash Down) Class: Kido Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: Long (70m) Incantation: Ye Lord! His reiatsu flared in response to the kido. He knew the boy had said hado and was vagualy aware there were different types but he had no idea what they were. He 'stepped' up over the flames, turning down and appearing on the other side. Still walking. "I thought we were past the parlour tricks kid".
Nothing quite like a classic. He lunged for the boy, his blade going to impale the left of his chest. The scarf trailing out behind him, barely able to keep up with the influx of sharp movements. This stance allowed the blade to cross over his own chest in defence if needed. However with his increased speed and strength he would be sincerely suprised if the others blade could hold against his own.
At this close range thier reiatsu forces would clash, the boys was slightly lower but still a threat. The earth rumbling and cracking beneath them, the air whipping and dust circling. Although still nothing landed on yorishou.
(x2 speed and strength from passive buffs. Its hard to copy and paste on my phone.)
