Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
It was a quiet night, the sky cloudless showing the billions of beautiful gems called stars staring down at the world. It was also a full moon, the light shining brightly chasing away the shadows of the night. Beneath this view walked a single woman with short black hair and an eyepatch. In her right hand she carried what seemed to be a Japanese katana. Usually she'd be donned in the usual garb for the kidoshu members, but being as she was off duty for the moment she wore her more casual attire.
She had no specific reason for being in Karakura town tonight, she merely decided to take a stroll out beneath the night sky. It had been sometime since her last day off she figured why not. Well not only that, but she'd heard rumours of a Quincy that had attacked one of the Kidoshu members in this area. Truth be told Shiori only really wanted to get a look at the guy, if she could find him. Maybe test her strength a little should he be willing or get violent.
"Hmm I'm pretty sure they had said it was somewhere around here."
She stopped for a moment, her head swivelling as she turned to and fro scanning her surroundings to see if it matched the description she'd heard about in the report. It seemed to be pretty close, but then again everywhere in this God forsaken town. Odd enough since the buildings here at least differed more than the ones in the Gotei, those were all cookie cutter buildings. Same structure, same colour, everything. Sometimes it irritated her. She kept her senses sharp feeling for anyone approaching or nearby as she continued her search, she'd rather be caught off guard by this guy.
"I'd ask again how many of you are running around here. But I'd imagine I'd get the same answer as before." A voice from right behind Shiori sounded out as a Reiatsu signature suddenly blossomed into being. A miniature sun among the individual stars that were the humans in this city. If she whirled around to inspect the voice she'd be face the face with the Quincy she had been given the description for. Orange hair, tall, glasses and captain class Reiatsu. This was certainly the same Quincy that assaulted Rasen those few days ago.
Of course the most jarring thing would most likely be the fact that Liam seemingly appeared out of thin air. And was barely inches from Shiori's face if she turned around. Kamizaiten was wonderful for things like that. And it was certainly amusing to spook people with it. It even worked on normal humans to some extent. After all, even the weakest human had trace amounts of spiritual power. Those times when someone gets a bad feeling or senses that they are being watched are those powers at work. And when Liam masked himself, they had a tendency to overlook him completely unless he drew attention to himself.
"You have the look of someone who is searching for something." His tone was frosty, but certainly not hostile. So far this Shinigami hadn't threatened him, so he felt there was no need to raise a hand against her.

She sensed the reiatsu before she heard the voice speak up, it was large, too large to have just popped up out of nowhere like that. And it's source was definitely not a hollow or shinigami, it seemed closer to that of a human if anything. Shiori turned, slowly not giving away the fact that she'd been snuck up on, nor showing any signs that she may have been surprised. She looked at the male now standing in front of her, right in her face with her one uncovered eye. Yes he'd gotten much too close without her noticing.
"And you look like someone that could catch a sexual harassment charge sneaking up on a woman like that." She stepped back once, more so to remove him from her personal bubble than anything else. "Do you always push right up on a lady after meeting her?"
Now that she'd stepped back she could see him better, taking in his features of orange hair, his visage and general description. He seemed to match the man in the reports, and the reiatsu he was giving off was definitely captain class and Quincy. She had no doubt she'd found her mark. "Or does your preference simply fall to lone shinigami that you feel wouldn't be able to touch you if they tried." It was more of a statement than a question. She could tell from the tone of his voice that he didn't take much of a liking to her, or perhaps shinigami in general. Though now it was a matter of seeing how much it took to push him off the edge.
Liam's nose wrinkled in distaste. "You're hardly my type. Plus I don't really consider Shinigami people. And you don't really have anyone to report to, being dead and all." His frown deepened a degree. "And considering how many times Shinigami have tried to kill me in the past. A sexual harassment claim from you isn't much."
Each and every word was simply dripping with sarcasm at this point. This was certainly not how he intended to spend his evening. And lately every damn meeting with a Shinigami had been an utter pain in his neck. Chances are this one would be no difference.
"My "preference" as you put it, leans towards most things that don't involve any Shinigami. In fact if you check the reports the only one of those idiots I actually hurt was the one stupid enough to threaten me." At this point, traces of Liam's own Reiatsu began leak out, angrily brushing up against Shiori's own. Not enough to paralyze her or even to make her sweat. Just to convey his slightly annoyed mood.
"Now do you have something you'd like to say to me, or can I get on with my evening? Its late out and a school night."

Well there was no denying he was a snarky one, and he definitely wasn't denying to be the one that attacked the other shinigami that was here before. In fact he actually admitted to being the culprit all on his own, safe to say he wasn't a shy one at all. He exuded confidence and some pretty dangerous reiatsu along with his annoyed words, but that had little effect on Shiori. Not to say his reiatsu was weak, from what she could feel she knew he was strong, but she wasn't the type that scared easy. He'd need to do a lot better than that to get to her.
"Well I doubt I'm the reason you're still up, you zero reasons to come looking for me, especially if you know shinigami regularly patrol the area. So I guess the real question is... why are you of bed, little boy?"
She dropped the boy remark mostly to provoke him a little more to see how he'd react. He really did seem like a loose canon, which made it possible that he could've attacked that group of shinigami without much instigation. Though she herself hadn't been there so she couldn't say for sure. Even in this situation she was the one provoking him, though he seemed angry just at her mere presence in the area as if she didn't have to do anything but exist.
"Now I'd rather not label you a bad guy right from the jump, but when you walk around late at night creeping up on people and flexing your muscles at them..." She pushed her own reiatsu back against his at this point, "It makes it hard not to find you a little bit suspicious."
After that last remark, Liam's Reiatsu would hit her like a lead weight. With the full force of his soul crashing down upon her. She'd probably have a hard time moving unless he allowed it. "Your arrogance is astounding Shinigami. What is it about your kind that compels you to antagonize those who are so much stronger than you?"
And just like that, the crippling weight vanished. "Not that its any of your business. But I was visiting a friend. This route is the fastest way back to my home." His eyes narrowed. "But seeing as so far I've yet to have a pleasant meeting with beings who keep trying to kill me. I think I will label you as the bad guy here." The pressure increased again as Liam took a few steps back, eyes still locked on Shiori.
"If you feel like proving me wrong, here's your chance. Walk away and I wont follow. You walk away with your head still attached to your shoulders. Or you can do the stupid thing and draw your sword like all the the others." His guarded stance and clenched fist indicated what he already assumed what the Shinigami planned. But who knows. He might be surprised.

She didn't feel fear, she wasn't surprised. No she stared on at the quincy flexing his full strength at her. Her knees buckled slightly and she clenched her jaw, raising her own reiatsu as much as she could to take off some of the pressure. He was definitely strong, but his distrust for shinigami was probably why he kept getting into trouble constantly with them. From her point of view anyways. Not many shinigami would like to be tested and toyed with this way, especially when it was a human doing the toying. She herself didn't like it, disdain for the situation was probably the only thing he could see in her eye at the moment.
"As I said, flexing your strength on those you know can't touch you even if they tried."
His reiatsu vanished and once again it felt like gravity was back to normal, the oppressive weight being lifted from her shoulders. "You ask why do I antagonize you, but if I recall you're the one who got all in my face at first, generally creepy for a first meeting. Not to mention you seem to have a habit of showing off your strength in situations where it isn't needed."
She raised her right hand which held her zanpakuto within it's grasp. "Not once did I draw this, nor did I even raise my reiatsu until you forced yours onto me. How did you expect me to react, bow like a dog at the master's feet?"
She watched as he stepped taking up his stance, his hands closing into tight fists. He was already to go all out, even placing what seemed to be a threat on her life. She chuckled "I have no reason to fight you, other than the fact that you attacked a fellow shinigami and that you're basically asking me to enter the ring with you right here and now." She pointed at Liam with her right index finger, he was only a couple feet back close enough that if she tried and was careful enough she could probably end even one of his strength in one blow.
"Now while I don't really care about what you did to those other shinigami, they were probably careless with the way they approached this lion before me, I am curious as to what it would feel like to fight a captain class opponent. I think I'll take you up on your invitation."
Her right index was aimed at his left eye, if he was quick enough he'd dodge or somehow block, if not well he just might lose the sight of one eye. "Hadō #4: Byakurai." The shot of lighting moved quickly from her finger tip, faster than even a bala, quickly eating up the distance between herself and the target. No matter how strong he was, his eyes were still vulnerable to her attacks.
{Spoiler}Name: Hadō #4 Byakurai (Pale Lightning) * Class: Kido Tier: II Type: Offensive Range: Medium (30m) Incantation: Broiling black, fervent heat, be rejected! Description: The user gathers high-density reiryoku, which they discharge from both hand. Alternatively, they point at their target with their index finger and generate a concentrated bolt of lighting towards them. It's speed is x.1.5 faster than a Bala, unique to it.
"Every Shinigami I've met so far has been a dog. A dog to their prejudice. A dog to their fear, their arrogance, their peers." By now an ugly sneer had spread across his face. "Forgive me for thinking you are anything different. Because all I see is a another arrogant fool who would rather save their pride than their health."
It didn't take a tactical genius to guess that Shiori was about to fire something from her finger. And while he was confident that his Blut would be enough to stop it. He didnt really feel like getting a spell of temporary blindness from whatever she shot at him. So instead he Stepped forward. Disappearing and reappearing right in front of Shiori. Hand reaching forward to grasp at her fingers as the lightning surged. Harmlessly impacting with his skin. The force of his own Reiatsu snuffing out the weaker kido.
"I'd rather we avoid collateral." He told her bluntly. Before flexing his legs and shooting off into the sky. Presumably dragging Shiori right behind him, unless the Shinigami somehow managed to wrestle her way out of his grip.
He sailed upwards for about roughly a hundred meters before roughly throwing the Shinigami ahead of him. Other hand whipping forward with his bow summoned. Aimed right up at the Shinigami.
"Licht Regen"
And a barrage of hundreds of arrows erupted from his gun. Spreading out with the intent of battering the Shinigami into submission.
Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.

He moved fast, faster than she would've thought he could. Just for that second she lost track of his movements and then the Quincy was standing before her hand stretched as he crushed her kido within his palm. Shiori looked up at his face and made to move back, but wasn't quite quick enough as he caught her by the hand and then took off. She supposed she had no problem with a change of scenery, but she could travel herself and would much rather that.
"I'm quite capable of handling myself, thank you very much." She wrapped her legs around him and squeezed tightly and pressed her free hand against his face. "Hadō #33 Soukatsui." At this range, there was no way she could possibly miss. The blue flames roared to life from her hand with full intentions to burn the Quincy's face. At the very least she would be able to blind him and probably immobilize him for a second. This was her strongest offensive kido spell, if this failed she had a feeling she would need pull out the big guns. Though something about this situation had her thinking even that wouldn't be enough, but perhaps it would give her a better chance of not just completely destroyed here.
{Spoiler}Name: Hadō #33 Sōkatsui (Blue Fire, Crash Down) * Class: Kido Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: Long (70m) Incantation: Ye Lord! Description: Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to Shakkahō at x10 Cero Speed, but over a wider area and with more power.
He was rather surprised to see that the Shinigami seemed to try and cling onto his body. But at this point expecting common sense from them seemed to be a futile effort. They just rushed right into danger without a second thought.
Once again, the arrogance of these creatures disgusted him. But what more should he have expected from those that proclaim themselves to be gods of all things. He didn't so much as flinch as the blast of blue fire flowed over his face. A face that was completely unharmed after the smoke faded.
"I honestly hope that wasn't your best shot. Because I've gotten stronger blasts from Gillians."
And with that, Liam's hand would lash out, grabbing the Shinigami before she could pull away. Driving his head forward and smashing it against his nose in a devastating headbutt. Most likely blasting her away from him as he did so.
"I'd really advise you to take this fight seriously. I'm sort of insulted you've challenged someone you know to be stronger than you and you haven't even pulled out your Shikai." A light popping sound could be heard as Liam's neck cracked.
"Because from point on. I'm officially no longer playing around." And with that, a bright blue sphere of condensed Reishi appeared in his hand. Its power dwarfing any technique that Shiori might have witnessed before this. This was what happened with a Captain or Vasto Lorde level threat got serious.
And with a grunt and a flick of his wrist, the bright blue beam was sent tearing through the sky right at Shiori.

Again, he just took it to the face again. Well then guess the gloves had to come off. Before she knew it though his other hand grasped her she saw his head tilt back and immediately tilted her own head down slightly and braced herself for the blow. He hit hard, it rocked her and she went flying.
If you don't let me out, you'll die...
Shiori went skidding across dirt, grass, rocks and trees in some landscape far outside Karakura. During one of her rolls she pushed herself up and twisted her body into a flip in order to regain control and balance.
"I know already." She drew her zanpakuto then, still sliding backwards a cloud of dust around her. She could hear him talking, then she saw the bright light glowing her eyes watched it closely waiting and timing. She saw it coming towards her and pushed off to her right watching as the blue beam blew pass her. His reiatsu was massive, and if that attack had hit her she would've been seriously injured.
"Herald the end, Seraph!"
Her own reiatsu surged, her body covered in a crimson glow as it grew. Her sword didn't change in size or form, the only difference was the kanji appearing on it's blade meaning Apocalypse. By this point the invisible poison gas that she exuded when in her shikai would begin to spread over the area at bala speed. Perhaps it was a good thing he took her out of the town, not that she would've used this release there. At least not within range of the citizens.
About time.
Will you be quiet for a second or be helpful, she snapped back in her mind.
Her head was aching and it was bleeding, She was lucky he didn't crack her skull open. She closed her eyes and focused on her forehead, "Keikatsu." She said it quietly and held a glowing hand to her forehead, healing the wound for the most part. The headache was gone too. Now she needed to watch herself.
She held the same hand in, her left, and the same blue flame began glowing again. "Hadō #33 Sōkatsui," and they fired in Liam's direction again. Chances are he wouldn't dodge or just deflect it since he knew it couldn't do him harm, but that was of no concern to Shiori she just needed to hide herself from his line of sight for a moment. The blast force from the kido would also cause her poison to spread around more, though by now it would have probably covered everywhere within fifty meters.
She entered a step as the flames roared in Liam's direction hiding the sound of her shunpo and hopefully her movements as well. She exited her step about fifteen meters away from Liam in the air behind his left shoulder, at which point she lashed out with her zanpakuto, the blade acting like a whip all of a sudden. She was trying to ensnare him around his neck with the blade, surely at least her shikai could scratch him, right?

He was surprised the spirit was still conscious. He actually but some measure of effort into that blow. Of course he wasn't exactly using Blut to enhance his strength or anything. It was just a simple headbutt. Nothing overly major. Just brute strength with nothing else behind it.
But hey, it was enough for this Shinigami to get serious. Judging from the spike in her Reiatsu, she finally decided to bring out her Shikai. He supposed it would only be fair if he took this somewhat seriously himself.
He did note with some curiosity the technique the Shinigami was using to heal her wounds. Healing had always been on his list of things to train in. But he never had the opportunity to do so. Maybe some form of Ginto technique? Could he make some form of Blut that encouraged cell division and repair? Such ideas would unfortunately have to go on the backburner. Right now he had other matters to deal with.
As the blue fire washed over his face, Liam's own Reiatsu began to slowly build up. Drawing Reishi into his own body, the familiar blue lines of Blut spreading across his body. The swing of the Shinigami's sword stopping right as it wrapped around his neck. Unable to dig in enough to even cut off his air flow. With his skin refusing to tighten no matter how hard Shiori tried.
Instead Liam surged forward at a blinding pace. Hand wrapping around the Shinigami's sword as it came into reach. Not even the Shikai was capable of piercing his now toughened skin. While his other fist lashed out with another blow, this time aimed right at her midsection. With enough power behind it to knock the wind right out of her.
"Gonna have to do better than that."
But that wasn't all. As soon as that strike connected, Liam's leg would lash out with a devastating roundhouse kick aimed at her head. Striking at it with enough force to send the spirit flying once again.

Yep, just as she expected he took it all to the face, she had to admit for a living being he was one tough bastard. He didn't even flinch as her zanpakuto wrapped around his neck, and she could see why. It wouldn't cut into him, or more like it couldn't. Who was this guy? As soon as he launched in her direction she wasted no time pointing the hilt of weapon in his direction, speaking at the same time.
"Bakudo #39 Enkosen." The golden arch would protrude from the hilt of her zanpakuto, stopping the Quincy from grasping her sword. The blade wrapped around his neck released and retracted as she disappeared with a quick shunpo narrowly dodging the kick he launched at her. By now the gas secreted by her shikai would have covered it's range of 50m in every direction. Not that it mattered since he charged right into anyways. Now would be the time where she chose to activate her poison. If she couldn't take him down from the outside, then why don't we see just how strong his insides were.
{Spoiler}Name: Bakudo #39 Enkosen (Arc Shield)* Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: III Range: <5 Meters Incantation: Unknown Description: Summons a large, circular shield of condensed reiatsu to block opponents' attacks. As soon as it was no longer needed. Liam's Blut faded of its own accord. While he was able to keep it up for quite some time. He felt there was no reason to do so against such a weak opponent. Granted it might have come in handy for smashing through that barrier that was thrown up. But honestly, he was pretty sure his arrows could have blasted through it without much effort.
He was curious however. What on earth caused the Shinigami to possess such confidence in herself? He'd already shown how he surpassed her. Yet she still had the gall to taunt him. He inhaled through his nose in slight irritation. The force of his Reiatsu buffeting the poison. Stopping it from harming him outright. "Tell me Shinigami." He intoned, vanishing from sight once again. Appearing right behind her, hand glowing as a blast of Reishi was discharged. A burst that would ensnare her, binding her arms and legs together in a semi-translucent almost honey-like blob.
"How long have you been training. A decade? A century? Perhaps two of them?" He asked, a small smirk growing on his face as his Reiatsu began to build. "Tell me, how does it feel to be utterly outclassed by a mere human who's been training for about a month?"

She'd managed to put some distance between them, but only for what seemed like a moment. It wasn't long before he was behind her again, looking like nothing at all was wrong with him. Her eyes narrowed she refused herself to be totally powerless before this man. Her body went rigid, she couldn't move and he was gloating. She watched him, keeping her emotions from surfacing. Her eye and features remained calm and steady.
"Well to be honest, I feel lazy, but it has been rather peaceful lately so I haven't been getting much chance to exercise much. It's been real political up there lately." At this point she was referring to her current transfer to the Kidoshu and her even more recent promotion. Not that Liam here would have any idea what she meant. "But you don't really wanna hear about all that do you?"
She tested the bindings he casted on her. They were strong not something she could break on her own. She hated to admit it, but this guy was plenty strong. Currently her poison seemed to have no effect on him. Well then in that case she focused a tad more raising the potency of the airborne killer. She suspected he wasn't quite aware of it's presence yet, but it was rather his natural defences that were currently protecting him. She was actually impressed.
"But tell me, how does a guy like you stay off the map for so long?"
{Spoiler}Name: 疫病 - Ekibyō - Pestilence Class: Shikai Tier: IV (Active) Type: Passive/Poison Range: 50m centered on Shiori Description: Shiori releases an invisinle cloud of poisonous gas constantly at the start of the release. Liam shrugged, Reiatsu surging slightly as the airborne poison began to trickle into his system. While it wasnt much. He could simply feel the woman's ambient technique flutter through the air as soon as it started. At the beginning it really wasnt much he had to worry about. Especially with his Blut active. But it seems that without it, he was slightly vulnerable to the enhanced version. Bringing a finger up, Liam wiped away the small trickle of blood that had dripped down his nose. The poison had effected him that much it seemed.
Scowling at the droplets of blood. Liam disintergrated them with a burst of Reishi before turning his attention back to Shiori. "A month ago I was weaker than you are now. I'm only starting to peek my head out now. But trust me. You'll be hearing a lot about me in the future. When I'm even stronger than I am right now."
Shiori would then feel the technique that bound her slacken. Before dispersing back into Reishi. "Not that such a thing matters to you. You just asked to get your ass kicked by me." And with that he vanished again, disappearing and reappearing right in front of her. Leg raised up high and swinging down on her for a devastating axe kick.
"Just admit you lost whenever you want me to stop!"

Ah well it seemed he wasn't completely impervious. Blood had begun to leak from the corner of his lips, clearly he had let his guard down somewhat. However would he be back on guard now, or simply think of this as naught but a slight tap on the shoulder. A tickle if you will. Her eye watched him intently, wondering what it was that he was thinking currently, which decision he would make, that greatly impacted her current plan.
With a burst of reishi he rid his fingers of the blood that he'd wiped from his lips. Around the same time she felt her bindings slacken. Yes it seemed he'd chosen to remain off guard, good that would make this somewhat easier.
So, ready Seraph? she said internally to her spirit.
Always. Came the simple reply.
Shiori began charging her reiatsu as the bindings were freed. Her zanpakuto's blade now glowing a deep crimson red. At that moment Jester appeared above, his movements fast, but she'd already seen him use his speed a few times, if she wasn't fast enough to keep up she just needed to act ahead of him. And where else would he have went in this instance besides for her and with technique she was about to unleash, the direction he came from didn't matter. As he dropped his axe kick, she swung her glowing blade up to meet it. The reiatsu built up in her sword would explode from the blade as she swung her zanpakuto. Cutting through the air, already forming a vacuum going out ten meters, not that the Quincy would be able to tell.
She was rather hoping he would assume he could take this attack, then she'd get a chance to land not one, but perhaps even two blows on this pompous ass.
{Spoiler}Name: 疫病 - Ekibyō - Pestilence Class: Shikai Tier: IV (Active) Type: Passive/Poison Range: 50m centered on Shiori Description: Shiori releases an invisinle cloud of poisonous gas constantly at the start of the release. It spreads at bala speed and can be activated up to tier III or IV doing appropriate tier damage. The effects of the poison do not wear off unless the user is unconscious, or the release is sealed. The poison works by causing the body to hemorrhage on the inside. A symptom of affliction could be a bloody nose or sudden bleeding from the mouth, ears or eyes.
[Duration: 2/6]
Name: 戦争の犯罪 - Sensō no hanzai - Offence of War Class: Shikai Tier: IV Type: Offensive Range: 10m Description: The users blade glows a deep red similar to her reiatsu. With a slash she releases the built up reiatsu cutting through her target and the air creating a vacuum that would pull the target back at cero speed should they dodge for a second strike as long as they are within 10m.
Oh, so that was her game? Try to match his brute power with her own. Well considering the feeling of her building Reiatsu, it might normally do the job. That was of course, had his leg muscles not suddenly tripled in strength as he activated the offensive variant of Blut. So instead of attempting to dodge or defend against Shiori's attack. He'd just plow right through with brute force alone. No hesitation, no fear. Just an overwhelming desire to inflict the same fear the Shinigami had given him all that time ago.
It wasn't just Liam's fear. But the fear of every innocent Quincy who was unjustly hunted by Shinigami. Hell who knew how much innocent blood was on this one's hands alone. Dozens? Hundreds? It didn't matter. They were all the same. Arrogant, prideful to the point of stupidity. Not knowing when they were utterly outmatched by someone else.
Of course it was enjoyable that it was a human of all things that was beating her down. perhaps she could save some of her pride if he were a Hollow or Arrancar. But considering that she was getting the living daylights beaten out of her by someone who'd been training not even a fraction of the time she'd be on active duty. Lets just say that by the end of this. Her precious pride will be well and truly shattered.
{Spoiler}Advantage Calc: 3 from rank + 1 from Blut enhancing strength x3 = 4. (Rough estimate. Not sure where his Advanced H2H adds in) Shiroi: TIV tech +1 Advantage at Average vs Advanced Spirit Pot that blocks energy based T2 techs. Pretty sure Liam nullifies it.

Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
She tried, she really did, but he seemed to have the upper hand in everything. Strength, speed, defence. No matter what she did she just couldn't break through, not even a little scratch she could leave on him. She thought things would be different when she unleashed the strongest move she currently held within her arsenal, but even that was met with a resistance that proved her efforts futile. Her sword clashed with his foot, and where she expected to see it cleave through she instead watched as little by little he pushed her back before eventually her blade was sent flying downwards to ground and his heel came crashing down hard on her right shoulder.
I do believe we may be in pretty deep water here, though if you wish to continue I will help as much as I possibly can.
Shiori didn't answer her spirit immediately, her breathing was ragged, her right arm fell limp to her side and her eye remained ever watchful of the Quincy before her. She knew when she was beat, she had no problem admitting her defeat to herself, though she didn't quite feel like giving this guy the pleasure of hearing her say it out loud.
I do agree with you Seraph, it would be a tad bit foolish to remain her when we clearly can't damage him.
Escape would be her best option, but she doubted he'd just allow her to open a senkaimon and leave. Even if she could doing so right in front of him wouldn't be the smartest move either. She would basically be opening the door to her home for the wolf, and that was not acceptable. She tried shifting her right arm and inhaled sharply as pain shot through her shoulder. Yeah it was definitely broken. She wasn't quite sure how to get out of this pinch but she wasn't going down without a fight.
She took up the best stance she could holding her zanpakuto in her left hand only and stared down the Quincy "Hmm, so there was someone like you walking around down here and no one heard about it until recently. How'd you manage to stay hidden for so long?"
A jolt of satisfaction raced through Liam's body as he felt the blast of Reiatsu crumble under his blow. No fancy tricks on his part. Just his own brute force barreling right through her strongest attack. While still having enough power left over to shatter her shoulder.
It felt good to know that all his training had paid off. Who knew that repeatedly getting suplexed into the ground by the Old Fart would have given him the power to utterly trounce rank and file Shinigami without the slightest bit of effort. Hell the worst thing that happened to him was that his jeans were slightly scuffed. But that was something he could easily fix.
"I already told you. I've only been doing this for about a month. I wasn't hiding. I'm just what happens when a living being takes an interest in spiritual matters." His hand lashing out, Liam would grip Shiori's now broken shoulder and give it a slight squeeze. No doubt sending a raw pulse of pain through her body. "Dont know if you've noticed. But we tend to grow an awful lot quicker than a bunch of dead people."
"Now since I seem to be the winner of this little game. You're going to do a little favour for me once I send you on your way." His hand still gripping the broken shoulder, Reishi gathered in front of the Shinigami, forming into a small sheet of Soul Synthesized Paper. On the page was the picture of a man Shiori may or may not recognize. It was one Yorishou Kiyoshi the same Shinigami that had prompted Liam's spiritual growth and hate against the Shinigami as a whole.
"You'll find this man. And you'll tell him I'm going to kill him. Are we clear?"
