Staring at the ground, arms slumped forward and back hunched slightly, he walked down the street. Staring intently at the ground. A trail of blood. Something was bleeding. Preliminary crow reconassaince had indicated it was one of those odd beings. Those creatures with a hole in their chest and masks. He was interested. Mostly in the texture of the mask. He wanted to know the durability. What kind of texture it had. So many options to go by. He was going to tear the mask off for scientific purposes. Nothing personal to the creature, it just had to suffer the decision of the more dominant being, namely himself.
His thoughts however, were interrupted by a metallic sound and a soft thud of flesh.
Clunk.
Clunk?
Mikhail slid his face up against the pole he had walked into. A bruise on the top of his head. Arching an eyebrow. He didn't see that lamp post coming. Who had put it here? A deep breath, sound enhanced by the gasmask, came from him. Before an annoyed grunt. He rested his forehead against the lamp post, still pondering how it suddenly popped up there. He wasn't new to the area, so surely, he must've seen this illuminating, metal object before. His head was in pain. A soft and throbbing pain.
And he just stood there, face leaning against the lamp post. Waiting and thinking. Having forgotten all about the bleeding hollow.
Once more she was out on her walk strolling down the streets of Karakura minding her own, when suddenly she felt the presence of another hollow. She wasn't quite sure why, but whenever she stepped outside there seemed to be one somewhere close by. Of course she could probably just ignore it and be one her way, but her last few encounters with these things usually allowed to meet people who made for somewhat interesting company, whether it be good or bad.
She stood where she was for but a moment considering just ignoring the feel of the hollow and continuing on her way, but something in her gut feeling told her going towards could make for a pretty interesting evening. So without further ado she turned in the direction which her head was facing and began walking. From what she could feel, the hollow wasn't a particularly strong one, so she wasn't worried about befalling some cruel fate, but one could never be too careful.
She stretched her reiatsu senses as far as she could hoping that she'd pick up on the creature she herself was hunting before it picked up on her. As she walked however she found something that was truly even more interesting in some ways. She sensed what seemed to be a legitimate human with spiritual powers and it was close. She stood for another moment thinking, should she continue following her path to the hollow or go see this mysterious human.
A wind blew, causing her hair to flow in the direction she sensed the human from. "The human then," she said before walking off to her right, as if some sort of sign from God had been given to her. She didn't have to walk far to find the human. A man wearing a gas mask standing with his head against a lamp post and doing... nothing but that.
"Um, excuse me, are you alright?" She called from a distance not quite trusting the strange man she'd just come across. Though it was also possible that he himself could've been prey to the hollows attack as it didn't seem to be too far away from their current location.
Footsteps. They stopped. Footsteps. Who did they belong to?
Mikhail's eyes slowly turned towards Hikari, before she called out to him. And the instant her voice reached his ears, his eyes widened and his reiatsu flared. Slowly, red smoke errupted from his left eye. Both his irisses had completely turned red. Loud and laboured breathing resounded from Mikhail as he pushed himself away from the pole, using only his head. His arms slumped forward, back hunched still, he glared at Hikari, his eyes widened, pupils small. The face of something feral. Something bloodthirsty and something very angry. Slowly, crows flocked to his shoulders.
Who had dared interrupt Mikhail during his thinking?
Who had the very nerve of disturbing him?
Another loud breath resounded as he started to cross the street. Yet, tires screeching loudly caused the young human to turn to the sound. A driver who seemed to not have noticed Mikhail in time. Suddenly, a flock of crows shot down towards him and enveloped Mikhail. With a loud smack, the car rammed into the murder of crows and was forced to a full stop, blood splattering everywhere. The birds still able to fly flew away, roughly ten corpses of the crows between the unscathed Mikhail and the car.
With a loud and frustrated groan, Mikhail turned towards the driver. His anger now focussed on the man behind the wheel.
Yet, he had already died due to the impact of the accident. Several crows shot through the windshield and started to peck at the driver. Aswell as on the inside of the car. Anger turned to curiousity as he put his hands down on the dented hood of the car, fingers sliding underneath. He pulled it open with an almost content snarl. Several crows also dissappearing into the engine.
"Mashina," He murmured between two deep breaths. At this point of time, he had completely forgotten about Hikari.
{Techniques} Class: Human release Tier: I Type: Passive Range: 100 meters Description: Uncountable crows flock towards Mikhail and become spiritually empowered. These creatures listen mindlessly to Mikhail and are used in most of his other techniques. These crows can easily be killed, but, when one dies, another immediatly replaces it. These crows move at a speed that is not spiritual. Thus, very slow.
Name: Flock Class: Human release Tier: III Type: Defensive/Offensive Range: Personal/100 meters Description: Flock can trap a target in a torrent of crows, causing them to be locked in place up to 100 meters away from Mikhail. The crows accelerate at half-bala speed. The person inside the target gets pecked at. This is considered one tier III strike per post of the duration. Flock can also be used defensivly and cast upon Mikhail or an ally. Who also become trapped in a murder of crows, defending them from physical and energy attacks up to tier III. This can last for three posts. Only one target can be put in this, defensive or offensive.
Name: Dart Class: Human release Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: 50 meters Description: A crow accelerates at half-bala speed. And flies for the designated target. Aiming to pierce through them. Dealing tier III damage.
As she spoke up to the odd an with his head against the pole, she noted that he had turned his head to look at her. This is when she realized he was wearing a gas mask, why? She didn't know as far as she knew the air was clean, there was no poison or pollutants in the atmosphere. The next thing that caught her attention was his sudden flex of reiatsu as it surged from his being. She could tell that he was close in strength to her, and he seemed violent. Hikari's eyes narrowed as she readied herself for battle, but instead the sound of tires screeching dragged her attention from the masked man now walking across the road to her.
She turned her head in time to see the vehicle trying to stop, but it was too late as it ran into... a murder of crows? Where did all these birds come from and why were they surrounding, or better yet, protecting this man. The loud crash would surely bring attention to the site and then Hikari would probably be questioned, this was something she didn't need, but it seemed that the other male didn't really care. In fact he was studying the vehicle that had just hit him head on.
Did this man have no sense of self preservation? No sense of urgency or what an emergency or unnecessary trouble was? "Hey, you!" she called to the human. "You with the gas mask, let's go before the cops show up or this will be more of a hassle than it's really worth." She could already hear the sirens in the distance. Great someone had already called them, which means they had probably been spotted. Though really it didn't affect Hikari that much. She only witnessed the accident, it wasn't like she was involved or anything. It was just, that it would be hard to explain how a bunch of crows protected one man and left him unscathed, while the one trapped in metal chassis ended up dead from the collision. She still didn't understand herself. She knew he had spiritual powers, that much was obvious, but they were still just regular crows were they not?
"Look, follow me if you don't want to go to prison ok." With that she ran across the road, pass the man studying the car tapping him on his shoulder as she did so to drag his attention away from the vehicle and onto her in hopes of him actually following. She could hear the sirens closing in and she'd rather be gone before they actually showed up and a crowd appeared.
Mikhail ignored Hikari for the time being, too captivated by the engine. He made a mental note to himself to salvage an undamaged engine. His crows cawed loudly and pulled out several parts and tidbits that he could use. An easy mental command to them had them all fly off with some of the dissassembled parts, headed for the storage locker he used as his home. He looked up as he heard the sirens. Distressed, anger slowly seeping into his mind. The sound was abhorrant, it scared him. It made him nervous as he looked into the direction of the blaring. The crows cawed loudly and all abandoned the site with their
Seems like he had to halt his current investigation, the individual also seemed agitated by the sound. So, it possibly meant bad news. He looked up at the tap on his shoulder and took a deep breath, the gasmask lighting up as he did, giving her an inquisitive look. A glint was seen in his eyes. She wasn't human. No, this individual was something different. It piqued his interest. He turned around to follow Hikari, leaving the car for what it was. He'd salvage an engine later, there was a parking lot close to his storage depot. So he'd have easy acces to the parts he needed.
While he knew next to nothing about the person that had spoke to him at first. And as far as he knew, she wasn't in a vicinity close to his home, so, she was more pressing at the time than the car was. He took a deep breath. How did these individuals always start up a conversation? Was it exchanging names?
Another deep breath. "Mikhail," he said with a muffled and laboured voice.
She needn't look behind her to tell that the human was following, she could feel his reiatsu trailing behind her. Good he didn't seem too complicated, at first she had thought he was going to be more trouble than he was worth. Well, technically he already was seeing as they wouldn't be in this situation had he just looked across the road like a normal person. Hell if he hadn't been so aggressive in the first place.
She turned when she heard him speak up, introducing himself as Mikhail. He was an odd one, that was for sure. "Well Mikhail, nice to meet you, my name is Hikari."
She moved quickly, putting more distance between them and the accident. Cutting through back alleys and such, she didn't want to take the chance of being out on the main road just quite yet. Once she felt they were far enough away, she slowed her pace, not even seeming to have broken a sweat despite how fast she had run and the distance they had travelled. Some might think her an olympic athlete should they have saw her.
"So do you wanna explain what happened back there." she said looking over her shoulder back at the human. She still didn't get what his reasoning in that situation was at all. Why he flared up, or why did he just step out into the middle of the road without so much as taking a glance around.
Words. Speech. He didn't understand what this creature said, but her voice sounded soft and gentle. Like way back when he was locked in a facility somewhere in Russia, a soft voice like that. Soothing and calming. Talking to him while several machines slowly sunk into his body, the voice told him things he couldn't understand, but they sounded encouraging, it kept his mind off the pain. Was she like the voice she always heard? A means of ignoring pain? Mikhail followed Hikari closely, getting really curious now. Perhaps she knew more about the facility. About his origins. Possibly even about what exactly he was. Because Mikhail knew he was much better than the average human.
Mikhail didn't even break a sweat as he followed Hikari, at the same pace, occasionally glancing around curiously. There were so many objects of interest still. But, right now, the object of most importance was still sprinting forward. Getting as far away from the accident as she could. More words he couldn't comprehend. "Što?" He inquired, doubt clear in his voice. He didn't speak Japanese, or English. Merely a choice few words of Russian. And even then, communicating was difficult. He took a deep breath, "happened," exhaling, "back," he took a deep breath as he repeated the words in an inquiring matter.
Hikari stared at him with a blank look while he did the same to her. Was she speaking some foreign language? Was he deaf? Maybe this guy really was more trouble than he was worth. Eventually he spoke up, but what left his lips was neither Japanese nor English, it was Russian. Russian? The words he said after were merely mimicking what she had said earlier, though it was clear he had no idea what she meant when she said it. Great how was she supposed to communicate with this guy, and why the hell did he come to Japan without knowing anything but Russian?
"You're kidding right? You don't understand Japanese? What about English? Is Russian the only thing you know?"
She was really hoping her thoughts weren't true. It would really suck to be stuck with a Russian only dude that just caused the death of some random guy. She leaned against the wall of the alley, putting her left foot up and crossing her arms across her chest. Her golden gaze fell upon Mikhail, "What am I supposed to do with you?"
She truly had no clue, she had went ahead and put herself in a situation she really would have rather not be in. One option was always to take him back to the Pawn Shop until things cooled over. Or she at least found away to talk to him, but first she had to make sure it was even safe to bring him back there. Though she wasn't quite sure how she'd determine that just yet.
More words. A puzzled look came across his face. He sat down slowly and looked up at Hikari as she talked, arching an eyebrow as she asked what she was to do with him. He still didn't understand a word of what she said. Mikhail briefly stared at his own hand. While he didn't understand her, her tone sounded dissappointed and almost annoyed. So, perhaps a problem with communication? Humans always seemed agitated when they couldn't properly converse. So this person, Hikari, was her name most likely, had that in common with other humans. A soft snarl came from him, "Hikari," he slowly breathed out her name in another inquiring manner.
Perhaps it would be better to engage in languages and learn at least English or Japanese. Even if it was for communicating with, and questioning, a being such as this Hikari. He was interested. A vivisection, as informative as one might be, wouldn't statisfy his curiousity. He had questions. A lot of questions. And an object subjected to a vivisection had a very low survival rate. Now he understood why humans wished to converse, it was yet another way of recieving information. A crow sat down on his shoulder as his eyes widened suddenly, his hand slipping into the pocket, pulling out a small device. It seemed something salvaged. He held up the small device up to Hikari.
This time he said her name and she tilted her head a tad. At least he got that right, seemed to be learning bit by bit, but just phrases and a few words weren't going to get them anywhere. If she really wanted to communicate with this guy, one of them would have to learn to speak the others language. She wondered if Monitor could translate for her? Or even update her language system to include Russian.
Once again, another crow popped up and had her staring at him. She wasn't quite sure what it was about this guy, but these crows seemed to love him. "What is it with you and the crows?" She asked even though she knew the chances of her getting a straight answer out of him were slim, due to their language barrier. But hopefully he'd understand crows. She flapped her arms like a bird to add emphasis on what she was talking about.
He was a weird guy, but he did seem to like tinkering, perhaps the pawn shop was exactly where he needed to be. But then there was also the problem of him touching things he shouldn't and she'd rather not get in trouble with her father, especially over something as trivial as taking a boy home.
Mikhail frowned softly with yet another deep breath as Hikari flailed her arms. He tilted his head and frowned at the creature besides him, then realised what she was on about. "Crow," he took another deep breath, "friend," he stated in russian. Unsure whether Hikari understood him. He pocketed the small device again, in his mind, starting to work out a small schematic of making some kind of translator. But he would need a database with all languages provided. It wouldn't be for today, but he'd be able to learn and understand languages other than the limited russian he spoke.
He stood up again and stepped towards Hikari, pointing at her. "Kim ty pracuješ?" He inquired with a soft breath, eying her up and down. He hoped she got what he meant. He wanted to know what exactly she was, because he still knew that she wasn't human. He had felt it. And he wouldn't let it go untill he knew what exactly she was. Perhaps he had to befriend her in order to acquire more info? It certainly was a highly likely possibility. At that note, he decided to be friendly to Hikari. Untill he found out more and untill he at least learned Japanese.
She stared at him, he was still trying to communicate with her and it wasn't working out all that well. At this point though it didn't matter, she'd already helped him get away from the police and while he did intrigue her a bit, it wasn't like she could learn anything about him from just listening to his Russian speech all day long and she couldn't take him back to the shop. So that left her with one course of action. With a heavy sigh she pushed up off the wall and waved towards Mikhail, "Well, I suppose this is where we part ways. You do you, and I'll be on my way, try not to get into anymore trouble."
With that being said Hikari turned and began walking away. She wasn't sure if she'd ever run into this guy again, but in case she did she'd need to brush up on her Russian since he didn't seem to know anything else and it really didn't look like there was anyone around to teach him. With that being said, was it really the best move to leave him by himself in Karakura, he'd probably only get himself into more trouble. Not that it was her problem. She stopped, only for a second to turn and look back at him before giving him a final wave and leaving.
