APPEARANCE
PERSONALITY Toshiro is easily annoyed by people not taking things seriously. He also hates being referred to as or having anything to do with childish acts. Toshiro is a strong willed and determined captain. He often thinks things through and is rarely provoked into rage.
Though he has over time gotten use to it he still hates people who do not address him properly as Captain Hitsugaya. He is very protective of Momo, whom he as a child grew up with and he followed to the Shinigami academy and surpassed to the ranking of captain.
Toshiro, like is Zanpaktou, has a cold attitude and spiritual pressure. Possibly from all the name calling and treatment like a child he has received in his past. Toshiro also does not care for warm weather and summer time as would be expected.
Overall Toshiro is an excellent captain that is trustworthy and loyal to his subordinates willing to do whatever it will take to protect those close to him.
HISTORY As a child Toshiro was a slightly spoiled. He grew up in the 1st district of West Rukongai with Momo Hinamori. As children they constantly picked on each other, as children often do, bur still Toshiro felt the need to always protect Momo. Early on Toshiro was always able to "hear" his zanpaktou calling to him, however he was never able to quite understand what it was saying. It was always whispers, and inaudible dreams that prevented him from learning his name.
After some time Toshiro said good-bye to Momo as she headed off to the Shinigami academy. Like any good friend Toshiro expressed happiness as his friend entered this next step in her life. However this was simply a mask of his true feelings. Toshiro was truly isolated, people believed him to have a cold demenor and as such were often afraid of him. The only people he had in his life that weren't were Momo and his grandmother....and now Momo was gone.
Five years then go by and Toshiro meets up with Momo again. He notices that unlike her he hasn't changed, specifically grown taller, at all since their last meeting. Momo began showing up less often becoming more involved in the goals she had sent forth for herself he assumed. However he made another startling discovery. It had seemed to him that his grandmother had been getting sicklier looking, however he could not really determine why that would be.
A few days later Toshiro goes to the market place to purchase food for him and his grandmother. However while doing so the merchant starts to pick on Toshiro and treat him like dirt. Luckily to his aid comes a female Shinigami. She, whom he learns is named Rangiku Matsumoto, scolds the merchant for his bad people skills. Toshiro turning around to see who was sticking up for him, runs into Rangiku and falls to the ground. He begins to cry and remain on the ground, to which Rangiku then scolds him, telling him that he should act more like a man and stop his childish crying. Little to Toshiro's knowledge this would be the beginning of a chain of events that would alter his life.
That night while sleeping he has an extremely vivid dream, even more so then the one's he was now accustom to throughout his life. A gigantic ice blue serpent is present in the dream and it seems as though it is trying to speak to him, trying to say something to him, however Toshiro is unable to hear it amidst the large amounts of wind that are going on in the background. Shaken so much by this dream Toshiro wakes up covered in a cold sweat and after a minute realizes he isn't alone in the room. It is Rangiku again from the market earlier. She quickly tells Toshiro that he is leaking his Reiatsu everywhere and needs to try and control it. She also notes that his grandmother looks very cold herself.
After hearing this Toshiro for the first time notices why his grandmother's health had seem to be slipping and that the room felt exceedingly cold. Rangiku tells Toshiro he has a strong power calling out to him, as though someone is trying to tell him their name, but he can't hear it. She tells him only when he can hear the name that he will be able to control his power and that becoming a Shinigami will do just that. Rangiku also makes note that if he doesn't control his power he could end up killing his grandmother unintentionally based on how things seemed to be going now.
A few days later Toshiro decides that he must break the news to his grandmother that he is going to become a Shinigami. To his surprise she is very supportive and believes in him so strongly. Because of his naturally power talent and power Toshiro quickly is able to enroll in the Shinigami academy and graduate early, being able to call forth his shikai form and learn the name he for so long was unable to hear, "Hyōrinmaru".
Toshiro is granted access to the 10th division under Captain Issin Shiba. Through hard work eventually Toshiro was able to work his way up to the 3rd seat position. Toshiro announces to his Captain one day that in the past two months three Shinigami have died in Naruki city. Intrigued and startled by this Issin Shiba goes out to investigate these findings. Rangiku eager to go assist her, as well as Toshiro's, captain attempts to go help. But before doing so Toshiro informs her that it is pointless and that the two of them are not strong enough to even assist him in this mission.
Upon Issin's return however Toshiro was able to witness the outrage of Vice-Captain Rangiku when Issin for some reason decided he was to return to the Human World.
A time after this through much battling, training, and experience Toshiro was able to be accepted as the Captain of Squad 10. Toshiro is the youngest person to reach the rank of Captain in the history of Soul Society.

Name: Hadō #11 Tsuzuri Raiden (Bound Lightning) Tier: II Class: Kido Type: Offensive Range: Medium (25m diameter/length along the conducting object) Incantation: Voltaic river, follow your course and charge! Description: The practitioner generates an electric current through any object they touch, which damages anything or anyone which is in contact with the object the current runs through. It's runs through at Bala speed.
Name: Hadō #22 Suimyaku (Water Pulse) ** Tier: III Class: Kido Type: Offensive Range: Medium (25m) Incantation: Suijin, Ruler of Water! The moon shines down on you, giving her blessings! Cast your wrath upon our foe! Description: Shoots small surfs (waves) 1m in width towards a target along the ground, at half-Bala speed. Eight surfs can be shot in total at an interval set by the caster. The longer the interval, the higher the concentration to eventually fire it is needed.
Name: Hadō #33 Sōkatsui (Blue Fire, Crash Down) Tier: III Class: Kido Type: Offensive Range: Long (70m) Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! Description: Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to Shakkahō at x10 Cero Speed, but over a wider area and with more power.
Name: Hadō #56 Kyōran Byakurai (Pale Lightning Fury) ** Class: Kido Tier: IV Type: Offensive Range: Medium (40m) Incantation: Lord, the shattered Vault! Pale the midnight rose. Silver rain, broken sky. Sigh the man's cry in the deep sepulcher of cowards. Carry the arched fool to the gates of torn hearts! Description: Fires three bolts of lightning from the casters hands in a cone shape spread of 5m diameter, able to hit up to five targets that are within close range of one another.
Name: Hadō #66 Mōfu Hioharashi (Furious Raging Hailstorm) ** Tier: V Class: Kido Type: Offensive Range: Long (60m max range, 20m diameter AoE) Incantation: Emperor of the North Wind! Frosted iris, shattered lake's surface, reflect the despair of the bitter chill! A solitary bell tolls atop the distant clock tower, seven chimes, heralding winter's wrath! Description: The caster throws their arms back and then heaves them at the opponent, as if shoving a large object towards them. A strong, chilly gust kicks up behind the user before blowing towards the opponent and passing them by completely. Right behind the last of the breeze, hundreds upon hundreds of spear-shaped icicles fly towards the opponent at Cero speed, following the trajectory of the wind. With incantation, the icicles freeze upon contact and can cause frostbite at equal advantages.

Name: Bakudo #39 Enkosen (Arc Shield) Tier: III Range: Short Incantation: Description: Summons a large, circular shield of condensed reiatsu to block opponents' attacks. The user's Zanpakutō is used as the central focus of the shield. An Advanced or Mastered user can bypass this flaw and use it on any part of their body.
Name: Bakudo #46 Inshitsu Chōchin (Devious Paper Lantern) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: IV Range: 30 Meters
Incantation: The long awaited Festival of the Dead begins! Cheer for those who are lost to the heavens, for you shall soon be joining them! Description: The opponent is surrounded by a barrier in the shape of a green paper lantern, with openings above and below. At the caster's call, fire shoots into the lantern barrier from the openings, charring the one trapped inside.
Name: Bakudo #57 Kitai Rakka (Curious Falling Petals) Tier: IV Range: Long Incantation: Drink from the overflowing cup! Sate your thirst on the cursed wine of the gods, and blanket yourself in white funeral chrysanthemums! Description: A large white orb of reiatsu appears above the caster and target, then explodes into a flurry of hundreds of white petals. The petals slowly float downwards, harmless in appearance and reiatsu signature. However, Kitai Rakka's true power is shown when the petals make contact with any surface. The stored reiatsu in the petals is released in the form of weight, and the feather-like petals now exert 100 kilograms of pressure each. They blanket over the target, crushing them with their combined mass.
Name: Bakudo #9 Hōrin (Disintegrating Circle) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: II Range: 30 Meters Incantation: Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat!" Description: Causes an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns to erupt from the users hand and attempt to trap a target. the end of it remains in the hands of the user allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The Kidō is able to connect with another one of itself if both have captured a target and bind them together.
| HEALING
Name: Keikatsu (Opening Revival) * Class: Kido Tier: II - VI Type: Healing Range: <5 Meters Incantation: Unknown Description: A simple healing spell used to heal injuries. Costing Reiatsu depending on the wound, this Kidou surrounds the target in a flash of green light, before starting to heal their injuries. The lighter wounds like mere scratches are removed in one post, not per wound, but in total. Deeper wounds like large cuts and lacerations take longer to cure, taking up to 2 posts.
Only those in Squad Four with Above Average Healing or those in the Kidoshu with Above Average Kido can attempt the next stage of this technique, healing broken bones and deep lacerations over 3 osts, with Kidoshu taking one post longer. Those with Advanced Healing or Advanced Kido can go further and can heal even lost limbs, which take about 4 posts to regenerate. Kidoshu members will take 2 posts longer to heal this. Some internal injuries can be healed, while injuries like cuts in the heart cannot. This technique cannot heal poisons and other ailments.

Name: Bakudo #28: Kyōmon (Mirror Door) * Class: Kido Tier: III Type: Defensive Range: <5 Meters Incantation: Unknown Description: Hitsugaya Tōshirō used this to seal Momo Hinamori's hospital room. It creates a glass-like barrier which is difficult to break from the outside, but quite simple to break from the inside.

BATTLE SKILLS Name: Stunning Blow Tier III Class: Zanjutsu Type: Offensive / Binding Range: Short (Sword Length) Description: Toshiro is able to instill such a strong force with his Zanpakutou that he can, using only the Kashira, he will hit his opponent in the mid-section causing both Tier III damage and stunning the opponent. Stunning takes place in accordance to the technique guide. Name: Keep Your Eyes on the Blade Tier IV Class: Zanjutsu Type: Offensive Range: Short (Blade Length) Description: Toshiro is able to move his blade at such an effortless and quick manner that when combined with his reiryoku he is able to make it appear as though there are multiple blade coming at the opponent. The blade images appear in the direction of striking along a 60 degree arc, only one of the blades is the true one though, blocking all others will have no effect. Maximum 30 blade images. Endures a one post cooldown after use. Name:Deceptive Sparks Tier II Class: Zanjutsu Type: Supplementary Range: Short (5 meters) Description: Dragging his blade across the ground Toshiro is able to throw up sparks in the air and towards his opponent and are able to distract and block the vision of his opponent. Primarily used as a distraction in order to sync up with another technique. Sparks move at bala speed. Name:Persistent Blade of Ice Tier V Class: Zanjutsu Type: Offensive Range: Short (Sword Length) Description:Infusing his own reiatsu into his swings Toshiro is able to accumulate a massive amount of strikes in a small amount of time. Each strike is capable of Tier III damage with a total of five maximum being inflicted upon the enemy in one usage. (one usage = one post) This technique also has the added benefit of allowing anything it touches, due to Toshiro's cold reiatsu, receive 2nd degree frostbite. Weapons are not excluded from this, that being said weapons or non-organic material in general that is hit will be subjected to a thin layer of ice forming on it that for one post will make the user receive a x2 debuff in speed. (This will not stack and can only be applied once per usage, i.e. if hit/parried with sword then hit some armor the debuff only occurs once.) Name: Ju-jitsu. Class: Hand to Hand Style Type: Supplementary Range: Self. Tier: N/A Description: Ju-jitsu is a purely defensive martial art form that revolves around the control of the target in question in a manner of ways. From locking to throwing, Ju-jitsu covers the entirety of locking down an opponent with ones body. Of course, Ju-jitsu isn't completely forced to learn only locks, they are taught simple frontal abilities (a jab, kick, a few other basic martial-art techniques) but they are not often utilized, instead often used outside of tournaments. Ju-jitsu, like Taekwondo, is an incredibly sport-filled martial art. Finding a dojo for Ju-jitsu is incredibly easy, ontop of the factor that it's common for tournaments of any kind, but it isn't as popular as Taekwondo. Even so, it's still popular in it's own right, and is shown on live broadcasts often. Training Ju-jitsu more often then not requires a partner or something that is in humanoid form, as the grapples and locks are easily ignored if someone has not learned how to correctly hold someone. The style -- or stance -- for Ju-jitsu is incredibly heavy, working in a similar way to Sumo but on a sense that you have to deflect them, rather then push power back at them. Name: Kixyoudourokku [Joint Lock] Class: Hand to Hand Technique Type: Defensive / Offensive. Range: Self. Tier: II Description: More often then not, a user of Ju-jitsu will focus on Joint Locks as a focal point of fighting, as while an really intimidating Karate user may be able to cave your head in, they can't do it without an arm. By focusing on the main use of this, a Ju-jitsu user has the ability to focus even more on locking down a joint with this ability, causing an actual "lock" to happen to the joint in question, disallowing movement for either one turn or until the enemy breaks the power binding. The user must be in a basic formation of a Joint Lock (as in holding out one of their arms, legs, etc) to properly do this, or this will not work.
Name: Suramu [Slam] Class: Hand to Hand Technique Type: Defensive / Offensive. Range: Self. Tier: II Description: If a Ju-jitsu user comes into a moment in which they have a grasp on a single limb of an opponent (does not matter which, although legs do cause complications) they can instantaneously flip them with the use of power, focusing in on the basic ideal of harnessing the ability to disarm or detain enemies, and slam them into the ground below. The flip is nearly instantaneous, only someone of a higher mastery level being able to intercept it.
Name: Sutangan [Stun] Class: Hand to Hand Technique Type: Defensive / Offensive. Range: Self. Tier: III Description: At the very core of Ju-jitsu, the use of locks and throws are overcome by a mixture of two, which is that of a stunning move. Sutangan, an actual technique, acts as a quick reaction to an opponents punch or kick, to which they grasp ahold of the limb in question (blocking the damage) and force power directly into the main part, throwing the user, and therein dislocating the limb from it's socket by the pure power. This requires a moment of focus to pull off, meaning one could not pull this off immediately after being ambushed or not seeing the oncoming attack. The damage includes everything from the muscles that were pulled in the process to the possibly fractured bone from the ruthless dislocation.
Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps) Class: Stepping Type: Stepping Range: N/A Tier: I Description: A movement technique that allows the user to move extremely quickly over short distances. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. Therefore what determines the level of skill in a user for Shunpo is best characterized by how fast one can get from A to B in the least amount of steps. ITEMS REIATSU FEATURES Light Ice Blue. Being in the presence of Toshiro when he lets his reiatsu spill out often presents itself as a cold ice-like sensation. ZANPAKUTOU |

Name:Shinkū Tasō Hyōheki (Multilayer Vacuum Ice Wall) Type: Defensive Range: 20 meters Class: Shikai Release Description: Used in combination with Rangiku-san's Zanpakto, Toshiro can created a multilayer of ice to act as a shield or be manipulated to create a sword to use.
Name:Shinkū no Kōri no Yaiba (Vacuum Ice Blade) Type: Offensive Range: 50 meters Class: Shikai Release Description: Gathers ice from the Shinku Taso Hyoheki technique to the top of the his blade which he can then expel as a sword to impale opponents.
Name:Ryōjin Hyōheki (Woven Ice Wall) Type: Defensive Range: 20 meters Class: Shikai Release Description: Creates an ice wall by weaving together strands of ice that he creates. BANKAI BANKAI NAME Daiguren Hyōrinmaru (Grand Crimson Lotus Ice Ring)

Name: Shield of Ice Wings Type: Defensive Range: 5 meters Class: Bankai Release Description: Toshiro can wrap his ice wings around him to provide for extra defensive cover.
Name: Ryūsenka (Dragon Hail Flower) Type: Offensive Range:2 meters Class: Bankai Release Description: If an opponent is stabbed an array of ice crystals form from the tip of his zanpaktou that form around and freeze his opponent.
Name: Sennen Hyōrō (Thousand Years' Ice Prison) Type: Offensive Range: 50 meters Class: Bankai Release Description: Creates a many ice pillars around the area of the opponent. When commanded they can then enclose and crush the enemy. This ability takes a long time to prepare so is often difficult to perform in battle.
Name: Guncho Tsurara ( Icicle Flock) Type: Offensive Range: 60 meters Class: Bankai Release Description: Collect ice upon the zanpaktou then when swung produces daggers of ice that fly towards the opponent.
Name: Hyōryū Senbi (Ice Dragon Swirling Tail) Type: Offensive Range: 50 meters Class: Bankai Release Description:Creates a large amount of ice to form from a zanpaktou swing in the shape of a crescent.
Name: Hyōten Hyakkasō (Frozen Heaven Hundred Flower Funeral) Type: Binding/Offensive Range: 70 meters Class: Bankai Release Description: Causes snow to fall from the sky. If the snow hits and opponent then ice crystals in the shape of petals begin to form encasing the enemy inside of it. It is said that when the last of the one hundred petals falls the enemy inside will have their life end.
