Chapter #2
Gage finds himself at a church worshiping, having not been able to for some time he will get antsy. While in the church he happens to ease drop on the end of someones confession and cant help but want to stick his nose into someone elses business and see if there is ant thing that he can do. Eventually he finds out that this person is more than a person and is infact a shinigami from Soul Society that feels as if his efforts are a bit futile to make progress in their government.

Gage does what he can, advising the man to the fullest extent that he can, trying to hammer in his own iron wrought morals into the conversation. If the man had power to make a change then it was his responsibility to do so even if it sucked and made his life sad and deflated. The man eventaully takes a bit of the advice, promising to keep it all in mind and think over his options before having to get back into his Gigai and leave Gage sitting alone in the pews of the church. Gage finishes up in the church and decides its time to call it and go back home.

Chapter #4
Finding time to get back to his job as a Ghost hunter he starts wandering the town and finds a particular section of Karakura Town that has been under the wary eye of a Hollow that attacks passerby's. Gage takes it upon himself to head to this location and stalk it until at one point a woman is attacked. Charging in he searches for that woman, being lead into a dark and barren alley. Finding the woman hiding behind a trashcan he tries to help her when the hollow materializes out of the shadows. Slashing Gage from behind he is almost completely disabled instantly and would have been devoured had a Shinigami not appeared to aid him at that moment.

This shinigami shows him several new things while he is combating the Hollow, one of which is that you can use your own personal well of energy to perform techniques like summoning ethereal weapons to attack with. On top of that he shows Gage how under skilled he really is with both a blade and in fighting. Gage always felt like he was at the top of the heap with combat but since he was more than aware that this random shinigami was better than him he decided its about time he put some effort into his training rather than just going around and fighting willy nilly.

Section 2 Chapter 1
Some training and time passes as Gage realizes his potential with his powers. They get stronger but he leans nothing new, just better control of it. Soon he is approached by a group that is funded by an outside benefactor to perform 'jobs' for a decent return in cash. At first Gage is extremely hesitant, the option of being a Mercenary not being something that he is to fond of thinking about. Eventually a couple of days pass and he finds that his bills are stacking up, the work for his shop just not being there.


Accepting that he will only do one job to get himself out of the hole he calls some extremely complicated number on the back of a card to get a hold of an operator. The operator tells him that there will be a package coming in the mail the following morning to brief him in the job that he has, there being a few ground rules before it can start. The first and foremost is that there is no sharing of the organizations information. Second is the protection of the innocent lives that have nothing to do with the job. Third is the completion of the job, which once taken is to be completed on the punishment of death for failure.
