“zzzzzzzzz”
A soft noise escaped from pursed lips of a pale white man, his body slumped in a corner, hair frazzled from his tossing and turning. He was sleeping peacefully seeing as his body yearned for the needed rest. He was fatigued from the previous night’s battle with a powerful enemy and his entire body was still sore from the damage he took. However, as pedestrians walked by no one seemed to notice him, or even care that he was napping in a small alleyway. In fact, no one could see him because of the fact he was a dead man, his soul no longer belonged to this plane of existence like them, instead he was a Shinigami.
His eyes twitched as light was starting to shine brighter into the alley. His entire body started to glow with the sunshine as it was just now hitting the midafternoon. A light breeze passed through the streets causing his hair to brush up and a strong aroma of dead fish to fill his nasal passages. “ugh…” A groan escaped as he started to stir. That aroma actually seeped into his subconscious and woke him up; it was the aroma of the hollow he had fought with last night. It seemed that he had not done a good enough job with handling the creature and was tracked down.
As he slowly opened up his right eye he saw now standing before him was the hollow. It was at the entrance of the alleyway, fish guts excreted from the upper back of the hollow. A putrid smell wafted closer to the man who didn’t bother to move. It was now a mixture of rotten fish and dead flesh, which was most likely another victim of the hollow. It started to move forward to the sitting man, it was intent on finishing their battle from last night, but the man wasn’t really wanting to deal with it right now.
Arashi placed his right hand on the cold ground and gently pushed on the ground. His weight shifted as he stood erect not even bothering to look at the creature; which was now about ten feet away. The Shinigami let a small yawn escape as he now focused his attention on the hollow. He discerned noticeable features about the beast. One of those being that it had scales all along it’s upper torso, it had a horrible odor, the bottom half of it’s body seemed to be consisting of fur, and its mask looked like a deformed clown.
It was not quite as strong as he was wanting it to be but none the less it was still a threat, just not a worthy threat. The wind whirled around them as the sheepish Shinigami smiled. In a split second the two beings of the other world vanished and when they reappeared only one was alive. Arashi stood now on top of the building that was immediate to his right, the body of the hollow was laying prone without a head. In his right hand was the head of the hollow which he had violently ripped off the moment they both clashed on top of the building.
Some of the muscles in his arm relaxed as the head dropped from his grasp. He sighed to himself while he popped the knuckles in his hand. It was a shame, not only was the hollow not that strong it was also impolite. He looked over the town of Karakura before letting out another yawn.

Karakura town just did not sit well with her. The flaring of reiatsu already getting her on edge as she could literally sense conflict in the various corners of the place. With her own rather diminutive abilities to actually sense reiatsu, she knew that it must have been fairly strong for it to pop up on her own personal radar. Even so she had to do this. Proximity to such beings, reasonably, would assist her to some degree in actually getting USED to being around them. So long as she kept her spiritual pressure hidden then she would have no problem correct? She certainly hoped so, swallowing anxiously as she continued moving down the street.
It wasn't until a moment later that she paused, the smell of baked goods hitting her, fate keeping her away from a vertain fishy area and instead enticing her with the prospect of food. Glancing down the street, she actually felt her mouth begin to water a little as she noticed a stall that seemed to be selling some sort of sweet. She considered getting something to eat. She resisted, at least for the time being, and sighed as she looked up to the tops of the buildings around her, pausing when she felt a sudden shift. Strange.... for a moment she thought she sensed a hollow nearby, her hand instinctively lifting with her quincy cross before the signature simply....vanished. Great, was she starting to go crazy now? Almost immediately she stuffed her quincy cross back under her sleeve and glanced around, hunching her shoulders a bit as she continued to walk down the street. She received a few stares here and there, which was normal. With that brand-like mark on her face and her rather light hair she did stand out a little. The best thing to do was just to ignore them and keep walking. In the back of her mind, another hollow presence caught her attention, already her brain a little frayed at the sheer number of things she was picking up. It was quite the difference from being out in butttruck nowhere where she sensed something maybe once every three days, as a result every few minutes she seemed to get just a bit more anxious. Maybe some sweets WOULD be a good idea. Backtracking, she headed back toward the stand.

[attr="class","ariback"] [attr="class","ariangle"] [attr="class","aripic"] [attr="class","arilyrics"]Welcome to the end of eras [attr="class","aritext"]With a large yawn the man walked quietly over to the railing of the roof. He wanted to go back to sleep but at the same time he wanted to go ahead with his day. He was scheduled to stay here in Karakura town for at least two more days to investigate some disappearing souls. A large quantity of souls had been vanishing without a trace which had led some of the higher ups to send out some Shinigami. He was one of the first ones sent as his captain Shinji had wanted him out there. He was happy just to be able to do what he wanted in the town he once called home. Of course he had to be careful though because anything could happen.
It was then he noticed the familiar aroma of sweets. He peered down to notice an odd looking woman walking down the street. A marking could be seen on her face that almost distinguished her from other humans. He personally had never seen the mark before but was intrigued by it. It was looking like she was heading on to the sweets shop which was only a few more blocks away from where he was.
With a quick hop he was over the railing and fell to the ground. Of course that would have been the course of actions if he couldn’t shunpo. Instead he simply took a quiet step and vanished. His body would reappear in front of this lady, seemingly out of nowhere. Arashi didn’t consider the possibility of her being a spiritually aware human at all. He figured that she wouldn’t notice. As he came out of his shunpo he was initially facing her but quickly turned around. With that he was off to do some more investigating, starting with the sweets shop. He didn’t really have any appetite but a piece of candy never hurt anyone.
