ASANO KIN

APPEARANCE

Kin is an androgynous male character with violet hair tied in a bun and blue eyes with dark pink eye shadow and red lipstick. He wears a flowing pink and red kimono that exposes his shoulders, with a sleeveless black skintight turtleneck underneath, black shorts and legwarmers, and red platform sandals. He also sports a translucent pink scarf. His outfit is meant to be a modified version of the Shinigami uniform, this act only allowed due to his position as heir to the Asano family.

When acting officially as the next head of the Asano, he wears a royal white geisha outfit, with a pink and red-colored checker pattern kimono underneath.

PERSONALITY

Despite his appearance, Kin is fairly masculine. He is a relatively kind and approachable man – friendly and respectable with a good sense of manners and an evident annoyance for rude remarks or behavior. He displays a sense of generosity in his openness to take in the lost or orphaned into the Asano family estate, despite the reluctance the extended members of the family hold to allowing "outsiders" in.

He thinks highly of his appearance, though he is not all vain. He is able to just as easily spot and appreciate the beauty in others. (Especially in others.) He adores beautiful things and people are no exception. He can spot potential a mile away and once he’s locked on he’s determined to make the beauty his. An excitable (and careless) Kin may easily slip up his wording – blurting once without thinking twice – paying little heed to how they may sound before quickly apologizing and trying again.

Charismatic, though all eccentric, he’s a man with a dream. A dream of the ultimate harem. As stated before, the man loves beauty and he absolutely goes gaga over beautiful men. His ultimate goal in life is to have a harem of beautiful men and boys with whom he can do as he pleases, and intends to reach this goal alongside becoming the head of the Asano family. He holds a great deal of pride in his family name and while he has a large amount of respect for his father, their relationship is strained due to the man's reluctance to accept Kin's sexual preference.

...And boy, is his sexual preference obvious.

Kin makes no attempt at hiding his homosexuality and acts very flamboyant despite his masculinity, attaching the cutesy honorifics of "-tan" and "-chan" on men he openly flirts with and even expending flirtatious advice to women of the Gotei 13. It's important to note that despite his open nature when it comes to flirting he will not bed another man so quickly. That takes a lot more buildup, and a much closer relationship. Most of the time he's all talk and no walk when it concerns hitting on people, though he appears to thrive on "cute" reactions and will sometimes even tease women should they be able to provide him with the kind of reactions he craves.

In combat, Kin is as graceful as he is when acting normally. A profound martial artist in his own right, trained by his uncle who is a Hakuda instructor at the Shinigami Academy, Kin tries to be as fluid and "dance"-like on the battlefield as possible and claims that he prefers not being required to draw his Zanpakutou. He'll still use it if he finds it necessary, but he claims that activating his Shikai and fighting at full power is "only reserved for the ugly." This does not refer to their outer appearance strictly, only adhering to their "inner" self.

Overall, Kin is a very unique and flamboyant individual who finds himself nigh-obsessed with the beauty of the world. Promiscuous, but only in regards to his speech, Kin is a very polite and honourable person when it comes down to it but can also be rather socially inept due to his "younger" age, backpedaling as quickly as possible whenever he has realized his mistake. As a Shinigami, Kin sees the Hollow and by extension the Arrancar of the world as "repulsive" and claims that by purifying them, he is also making them "beautiful" again. Hollow are the only individuals Kin finds himself comfortable fighting, as he always tries his hardest to take down his other foes non-lethally. This is because he considers having blood on his hands an "ugly" thing and that it would take much more than a few showers to wash himself free of it.

A last thing to note is that as a member of the Ninth Division, Kin also assists with producing the Seireitei Communication Monthly and has amassed a decent following due to an article he writes in each monthly issue, named "Love & Fashion: Kin Asano's 20 Tips to Leading A Beautiful Life." The title in passing is usually shortened to "Love & Fashion", and each issue contains 10 tips on Love and 10 on Fashion. Kin dispenses his "insightful" commentary on how to get dates/act on dates/keep things fresh in the bedroom alongside tips that revolve around taking care of your body, hair, what clothing is nice to wear on your day off, etc. Sometimes he will also add in a blurb or two at the end mentioning somewhere in the Human World the Shinigami should visit if they are given the time. Rather than stay anonymous, Kin makes it well known that he is the one who writes the article and absolutely enjoys signing issues of the magazine at a user's request. Suffice to say he enjoys the fame it brings him.
