Most days left Sumire irritated. The sights and sounds of city life weren't enjoyed and solitude was preferred. Today Sumire decided to stray from modern society and take refuge in the outskirts of Karakura Town. The forest there was thick as Mankind had yet to uproot all Mother Nature's mysteries that still stood tall from root to trunk. There weren't many paths for Humans to travel without going through thick brush but Sumire's Soul Communication easily allowed her to traverse through the forest by moving branches out of her way.
Her attire was well suited for today's weather. It wasn't too cold though the possibility for a storm remained ever present due to the gray clouds above that blocked out the sun. Another problem also presented itself with the arrival of several Hollow in the immediate area. Those with the appearance of large wolves, like a werewolf. Common ones they were and though weak and one wouldn't be a huge bother, their numbers were around ten.
Her high Reiatsu attracted their attention but she remained calm and focused. She sighed to herself as she continued walking at a casual pace, coming to a small opening with a nearby stream. "I can't see them but I can sense about where they are." She said to herself in a low voice, scratching the back of her head while looking up to the gray clouds above.

"Why did I even come out here," He thinks to himself. It's probably going to rain and ruin my nice clothes....then I'll have to do laundry!" He grimaces as he thinks about the boring chore and his cousins second hand laundry system. How many clothes would it devour before he could finally find a decent place to live, not to mention his lack of a job still! Geesh, leaving the Yakuza may have been a terrible choice afterall.
He was too distracted to sense the hollows or Fullbringer, not that he could sense them well anyways. He still didn't understand how that energy worked. He thought his own aura was just his chi, but it was strange that the dark purple tendrils that leaked from his body seemed to aim themselves at any living thing nearby. Currently they were reaching West and so that is where he headed.
This late jog had him lost in the woods. Hoping his aura would lead him to civilization he pushed onwards, his leather coat dragging behind him revealing it's red-orange interior. What an oddity he must seem, he thought. His black shirt seemed loosely fitting, draping over his tightly fitted blue jeans held together by a silver clasped belt. The jeans were loose around the waist but the majority was almost form fitted to his legs.
*Sigh* "This is such a drag" he says while attempting to walk over a large bush that caught to his left leg.
He reaches down to attempt to remove the snag from himself.

All creatures large and small felt hunger. Though some more monstrous than others meant danger for those they sought. Nearby beasts growled while awaiting their prey's mistake. A pitiable sacrifice like many they shared yet should they strike now perhaps victory they could grasp. Yet alone Sumire was not for another Human with gifts walked. Azure optics glanced behind as her head turned left with right thumb still pressed against skin. Whatever reason his power leaked out Sumire curiously wondered.
Not completely wield yet unrefined. Through her mind's eye she felt yet could not determine preciously where he stood. She knew his general direction much like the beasts that remained hidden in the shadows. Their numbers were about six, that much she could tell. A seventh being the Human and an eighth Sumire. She reserved herself for now and only allowed some of her Reiatsu to leak out, more than what she had been so to allow the man to know of her presence. Rather than quickly moving she casually walked towards his direction.
Several large rocks were what she leaped up onto and looked down to him. She was a good ten feet in the air and kept her right hand placed on a tree trunk. She was between two trees looking down at him with wide judgmental eyes. The snag on his clothes would be removed as she focused her Soul Communication on it as well so his clothes wouldn't tear. "You should be careful around here. We're not alone."
His clothes suddenly came free and without a single injury amongst the fabric. Some kind of cold wind seemed to blow past him, and yet nothing moved as if being touched by the natural phenomenon. The cold wash of energy was so faint to him, hardly refined enough to even understand what the energy meant. Despite that he hears movement to his left and turns just as a woman's feet make a slight rustle on the stones she lept upon. Taken aback he stares into the five foot, maybe five foot three inches woman and admires the slender form she possessed. In consideration of the cloud blocked sunlit glow that seemed to faintly radiate behind her form and her stance upon the stone and nearby tree, she was very beautiful. It was at that moment he realized that the cold feeling he had experienced had come from her, a feeling that suddenly had him looking into her eyes. He couldn't place why he felt this way, but he felt like something was missing within her, a sort of gap within her soul keeping her from being like everyone else.
"What is she doing out here," he thinks to himself, "and more importantly, what was she doing up there?"
Then, she spoke to him with a voice that teemed with excitement and caution, yet no lingering fear or worry seemed to radiate within her words.
"What do you mean," he asks as his reiatsu begins to leak from his body. The dark purple tendrils reaching towards the woman hungrily, but not threatening. I'm Jackson by the way, Jackson Wells. He began to focus upon this woman now, attempting to understand her power and reiatsu (which he still thought was an individual's chi).

Hungry tendrils flickered upwards in an attempt to taste the foreign presence. The majesty before Jackson understood no ill intent came towards her while tendrils wrapped around. His Spiritual Pressure, while unrefined, harbored no ill will yet Sumire still remained cautious. Whatever nature his Spiritual Pressure possessed wasn't known. Perhaps Sumire could analyze his Spiritual Pressure but with Hollow around she was weary of having two people around with significant power.
While two people could take on one Hollow several posed an issue even for Sumire. She didn't remove her gaze from him despite feeling the Hollow slowly roam around the area, trying for a better position. But there was another problem at hand. The male, who called himself Jackson Wells, didn't seem to detect the Hollow. She signed, lowing her head and eyes for a sad and annoyed look while she placed her left hand over her face. "If you can't sense them then this is going to be a problem." Sumire frowned disapprovingly and removed her left hand from her face.
"If you don't suppress your energy output then they will find us. I highly suggest doing so unless you want the both of us too fight for our lives."
He looked at the woman in confusion, not only for her words but for the strange reaction from his own aura. Usually they licked the surface of people, hungrily reaching to touch the lives of others. Yet they surrounded her, wrapped her, as if every blood cell within her was teeming with life and energy. He shook the wonder from his thoughts quickly though as he attempted to categorize the words she had spoken.
"Sense what?" He asks while trying to probe for signs of life outside their own. He could feel the dark presence of the demons, but how many and where they were eluded him. As he came to realize that hollows were present, or demons as he knew them, the woman spoke again.
"What do you mean suppress my...energy output you say? You mean my chi? They only suppress themselves when I absorb their power," He responds whilst looking around to attempt to see the vile creatures no doubt lurking about. "I don't wish to put your life in danger, if they come I'll purge them from this world."
He finally senses two coming from behind him, closing fast. Jackson smirks as he turns to face the monstrosities.
"I haven't forgotten what you did to my father, Demons!" He violently whispers under his breath, waiting for them to get closer before releasing his powers.

Stupidity lingered heavily within a skull which surely held little weight. Why fools dared standoff against wild beasts eluded Sumire. Throughout all her travels many would-be heroes became lifeless shells that once were men. The emotion called pride was cause for many lives, upholding their vow to protect home and family. Revenge was another factor and one the man standing before her held tightly onto. No smile nor frown was given. Sumire's brow did not furrow in annoyance however her left arm raised with fingers strait and spread apart.
"Reserve yourself." Vines from the trees aimed to wrap around the man and drag him towards her. They would hold him into the air to face her, stopping five feet away and tossing him weakly into a tree branch in to tree to her right. "Else I'll leave you for them to feast on. I have no reason to risk my life for someone I don't know. So either cooperate or you will end up as food. Follow me." Despite the Hollow approaching, Sumire jumped off the rock from where she originally came and landed onto the ground to begin running through the woods, using her Soul Communication to bend limbs out of their way so to make a path.
"We'll lead them towards the lake nearby. Once there, we can fight freely without the brush getting in our way."
Anger welled up inside of him as the vines wrapped around him, his tendrils licking the flora like a flame. Despite his emotions he held them within, outwardly attempting to struggle against the sudden grapple until he realized they were assisting him. With surprising grace he landed upon a branch and lept forward diving into the ground at a 45 degree angle. Just as he was about to smack into the small clearing he tumbled and sprung into a full sprint besides the woman, at least for a moment. He lept behind her thinking to dodge an upcoming branch that stood within their way, but to his surprise it creaked and groaned as it moved from the woman's path. "My apologies if I've unwittingly put you in danger. Just position me where you need, I'm a skilled warrior with my katana."
It was after he spoke the words that he realized no one had ever seen his weapon. If they truly were in danger, a fact he couldn't ignore based on her actions then how comforting could he be with a weapon she couldn't even see. Maybe it would be easier once they reached the lake, likely the area would be open and much more fitting to his Ju-Jitsu combat style.
A foolish errand left in Suire's hands yet by leaving behind her complaints she may hopefully take in his aid. The male vaguely understood what they ran from yet knew well enough what dangers the beasts presented. While Jackson and Sumire were smaller they couldn't use the thick brush to their advantage here. Sumire would be forced to focus moving to many obstacles from her path which would distract from overall combat. Under pleasant conditions a sound strategy it was but not with Jackson present.
"Then where is your weapon?" Sumire asked curious as to where he hid his weapon. Rarely Humans were able to manifest something other than spiritual blasts so she was curious to see what he had hid up his sleeves. And while she herself held a weapon she was weary of releasing her powers in the presence of another or the surrounding area. Knowing her powers were meant solely for destruction meant the surrounding area would be quickly destroyed however he would be caught in the Fullbring's wake.
"We'll battle on the water. If we lure them into the water they will drown. From there we can land a decisive blow while they are submerged." The sound of crashing limbs and two roars came from behind them, however, more beasts were still present along their sides but stayed at a distance. "This isn't good. If they get ahead of us then we are done for. Speed up the pace." Sumire increased her speed to stay ahead of the Hollow, keeping herself just slow enough so Jackson wouldn't be left behind.
Shortly they would reach the lake where she would dash across the surface, using her Soul Communication to solidify the water beneath her feet. "Keep running! I can solidify the water near me. The plan is simple. Stay near me at all times. Make them come to us, which I will bind them with my abilities for a limited time. It will be up to you to strike."

Jackson, hearing the sudden roars and crashing branches realized fully the predicament they were in. A rush of adrenaline washed over him bringing forth a euphoria of battle awareness he had rarely experienced in his short life. His life would become shorter if he held back and realizing this he absorbed his purple tendrils, enhancing his own prowess. His reiatsu suddenly enhanced his muscles, his blood flow, his reaction times, and the world seemed to slow suddenly as if he had ascended to a greater understanding of the world. His speed suddenly doubled and almost surpassed this woman had he not caught himself and slowed to keep pace with her. Not realizing she was slowing herself to allow him to keep up. A katana formed within his right hand made of pure reiryoku, seemingly to seep from his hand itself and then formally materialize in his grasp.
"I have it with me," He accidentally yells in the heat of the moment, slightly motioning towards his sword. "I hope you're right about the water, but I can keep up if you run faster!" As he finished his sentence he slightly increased his speed, surpassing his normal limits but only scratching his released power. His grip tightened as he prepared for what was to come, the sounds of the beasts coming closer and closer. His heart lightened slightly as the brush grew thinner, hinting towards the nearby lake they would use as their battlefield.

A thunderous boom ripped across dark skies. The little light gray clouds allowed came from occasional white flashes. Though dim vision wasn't hampered yet with rainfall further problems arose. A faint drizzle signified the coming rain yet Sumire's body remained untouched by falling moisture. Compressed wind surrounded Sumire which acted as a shell to prevent raindrops from reaching her body; Wet clothes were annoying though she doubted staying dray could last much longer.
The young Mage cared about appearances though battle meant possibly tarnishing her beloved attire. With hair manipulated and curled into a bun, a hood from a hidden compartment in her coat covered her head so she could keep her head from getting wet. She then released the small barrier of wind surrounding herself as she scrambled twenty feet out into the water. She remained attentive to where the Hollow were, especially a large werewolf like Hollow who easily stood three meters tall on just all fours.
It roared and looked at the fellow wolf-like Hollow with a snarl. The smaller Hollow looked around, sniffing the air and howled for the other four in its pack. Though they could not be seen, their howls came from far apart on the left and right sides of the lake. Sumire clicked her teeth in frustration as she leaned forwards with fingers lightly clinching at her sides. "It's uncommon for them to work together like this." She spoke softly to herself. " Keep your wits about you, we've nowhere else to go." She rose her voice towards Jackson.
"With two in front, and a possibility of two or more to our left and right. Even though I can't see them from behind the brush, I can feel them. Look at the large wolf creature at the shore. He is producing more chi than the others. Familiarize yourself with that feeling." She snickered in disgust. "Training someone I just first meet in a situation like this, hilarious." She winked. "You can call me Master, or Sumire will do just fine."

Jackson's Jacket deflected most of the rain drops, the rest clinging to his hair and beading down his body. He pressed on, ignoring the nuisance with precise and simple movements that would force the rain to land slightly before his eyes and angling his face downward slighty, raising his eyes the rain would drip harmlessly down his sights, but not into the orbs he used to assess his surroundings.
"I know that!" He said back in a raised voice just below yelling, "You know, no one asked you to train me." Despite the word choice the obvious luster in his tone was clear. He was fond of this moment, enjoying it and the negativity she seemed to exude infected his courage and hope. and so to shrug it off he smiled, wide and mouth slightly open, "When we get out of here I'll decide whether I should call you master or just sue!" He turned to smile at her and ensure his positive glow radiated through him towards her. He felt like he was no longer of this world as he stood atop the water's glimmering surface. This woman was capable of terrific and likely horrifying things. As he prepared for the beasts to come at them, he clenched his katana tight in his right hand, having sumire be to his left now. If they came at them, he would be sure to force their early demise at the end of his sword.

The fickle emotion called trust left both conflicted. What little faith either held spelt certain doom unless teamwork prospered. Already Jackson proved himself ignorant about spiritual matters, and, while Sumire knew only so much, working alongside Jackson increased her survivability. Shear courage would not bring victory today but when might and magic work as one evil can be undone. Sumire believed little in her new, personal, meat shield. So long he continued playing the fool's role they remained in a dangerous position.
Readied, Sumire kept an ever watchful gaze on both those in front, not forgetting their unseen enemies left and right. The smaller Hollow next to its larger alpha took several steps back before running toward water's edge. It leapt thirty feet into the air. "Hold." Said Sumire, telling him to wait patiently for a good moment. The Hollow raised its right arm then extended it outwards, stretching it towards Jackson as if it were made of rubber. However, Sumire rotated her left arm at the elbow and willed a stream of water to rocket upwards and wrap around the beast's arm.
"Now!" She tugged her left are to her left hip, willing the tendril of water to jerk the Hollow's arm and the Hollow towards Jackson's left, within striking range of his sword.

As the beast began to soar by Jackson suddenly gathered his stance, both feet set apart to establish a foundation of perfect balance and channel his powers through his blade. He raised his right hand and stabbed suddenly just after the beasts hand, then he twisted his shoulders as if braced, pressing his left hand upon the upper hilt of his katana. With sheer strength he held himself and blade ready, a thin purple sheen seen within the grain of the blade, allowing it to stab within the beast and then hold, as she had said, forcing the beast to ride itself along the blade. It sliced through its arm, then mask, then torso and finally towards the end Jackson twisted the blade downwards, forced it deeper and pushed down, allowing it to suddenly cut an angle down the entire left leg, severing the limb.
Unable to deter his focus anywhere else his smile dissipated, the emotions of Hatred, Vengeance, Anger, and pure resolve resonated within him. He rose to repeat his stance, then looked at the larger hollow before them as if daring him to make a move. Nothing but the deadly serious determination he held painted his face, as if he experienced no emotions like a psychopathic murderer. His grip tightened and he said, "Good work Sumire." His tone grim and lacking any kind of flair he had before worked so hard to push across. The only difference being that he could feel the reiatsu pumping through his veins, strengthening him.

Violent and brutal, a wounded enemy writhed in pain. Though the beast whaled while wallowing upon hardened water Sumire's heart held no pity. Without mercy her right arm flung inward towards her chest, willing the water to carry the broken vessel towards her location. Her stance body spun rightward in place with right leg rising above her head. And with a mighty downward axe kick white bone cracked. Shards scattered yet a large piece was grasped, that of the size of a marble, as the Hollow broke through the solid water below.
The mask fragment felt cold within her palm and caused her hand to tingle. Teeth grit in irritation as she questioned to herself why her heart calmed. The sensation sickened her but she couldn't worry about it, for now. Placing the piece into her right pocket she felt the Hollow below giving a very weak Reiatsu signature and unable to move. "Same to you." Sumire smirked with right arm beneath her chest and fingers halfway curled. Her left forearm remained at left side, still controlling the water beneath their feet.
"I doubt they will try that again. Like Humans and animals alike, they learn from their mistakes. But we have another problem." A sharp hiss of air shot from her teeth as the two hidden beasts from their left and right released loud howls that caused Sumire to close her right eye and cover her right ear. She was worried how well she could keep up the solid water around them while supporting Jackson. For her, direct combat wasn't a reasonable action. "Do you have some sort of ranged attack? Like a bullet of spiritual energy? I have not tried myself in a long time but now might be as good a time as any. What do you say?"
He watched her axe kick brutally maim the beast, and where some would have found the violent action sickening he simply found it satisfying. Well deserved he thought, unthinking beasts that consume all life that they can get their maws upon. Nothing was new to Jackson in this regard, so he turned and focused intently upon the larger beast ahead of him.
"Dead creatures do not learn." He replied to her announcement of their learning ability and adaptiveness. He didn't mean to sound as if what she said held no meaning, but he had assumed as much with his enemies. What he cared about was what this being was going to use his two allies for in order to get through to them. He doubted they would tire and let them leave peacefully. Then the howl came, forcing a grimace across Jackson's visage as he clenched his teeth and muscles attempting to power through it. His eyes did not close but they did squint, hindering his sight for just a moment. A moment too long he thought as he realized the weakness for what it was.
"No I am a swordman and Ju-Jitsu fighter, but you can fire energy like a bullet? I always just used my chi to enhance my body and strengthen my sword. How do you do this, before they exploit their howls and pounce while we reel from the decibels."
