Rain, falling hard and fast, the grey showers once more encroached upon the streets of karakura town. Colorful umbrellas dotted the corners and turns of the quiet town, occasionally the splashing of puddles echoed with the laughter of children as they frolicked about in mother nature's cleansing rain. Atop a building he sat, golden hair matted to his face as droplets cascading down his soft peach skin; watching two girls twirl around innocently in the rain, his blue eyes shimmered gently at the sight, they were young, ignorant, unknown to the ways of the world. He envied them in their frolicking, to be so carefree, to live in the moment and not consider anything else. Their's was a life to be lived.
The soft muffle of voices murmured from behind him, two shinigami, omnitsukido from the black apparel, lay tied up behind him, both were initially unconscious but one was beginning to stir, to him the blonde turned a side eye to, the omnitsukido were known as elite assassins of the 2nd division, they moved like shadows and struck like lightning, their speed was unrivalled in all of the gotei. Tied up as they were it was hard to envision these two oafs zipping around in the shadows, they knew nothing of stealth, nothing of the art of killing from the dark. They were simply children with wooden toys for weapons.
Their captain however was supposed to a master class assassin, said to kill with two strikes, an impressive feat even for a rumor, hopefully whoever she was she would put up a better fight than they had. Turning his head back to the grey skies above he let the rain run down his face and over his ninja garb, black as night and skin tight at the legs and arms whilst slightly inflated around the body to distort it slightly such that a clean hit would be hard to land.
On his back lay two ninjato, crafted especially for him, they had served him well and they had yet to show the wear and tear of battle, let alone break. Still it wasn't everyday one fought a captain class shinigami, he was surprised he had made it this far, slipping in and out of the gotei was a far more simpler task than he'd imagined, undetected and unsensed he had managed to get use an illusion to get one of her subordinates to try and kill her, on him he had left a message specifically for her to come alone, he had then proceeded to kidnap another two members as incentive. Any presence other than the captains would result in their immediate death and he would be gone before they even found the corpses.
If the captain really did value her squad, then she would come alone, being a master assassin it would not be hard for her to leave the gotei unnoticed. His body shivered slightly with anticipation. . . or maybe it was just the cold air from the rain, either way this was not about to be a normal day. Standing up he grabbed his oni mask, sliding it onto his face with a soft click, the face of a demon complimenting his dark regalia.
You two keep quiet till mommy comes to get you y'hear. Any peep from either of you and you'll be gutted like a pair of thanksgiving turkeys.
He childishly patted one on the head before mysteriously fading into the greyness of the rain. Nope this would be the farthest thing from a normal day.
{Items on Person}Name: Burg Schatten (Shadow Fang x2) Class: Item Creation Type: Item Tier: VII Range: Ninjato Reach Description: [X] A pair of silvery ninjato crafted by Urahara Kisuke, the edge of the blade is a very bright white such that it gives the appearance of glowing, the hilt and handle are also tailor made to fit the user's hand allowing for smooth and fast swings, when swung however they emit shadowy reiatsu similar to the users.
It was 10 minutes past the deadline for the daily report. Suì-Fēng's cruel eyes narrowed, moving her face to a scowl. They were never late. Never. With force she slammed open her office's sliding door. Such insolence."
As she pushed out into the halls of her Division, something felt... Wrong. Her senses heightened by a feeling in the air. her eyes twitched down the hallway, as her right hand grasped her blade's hilt instinctively. The blade lightly sang as a few inches were exposed, shining even in the dim evening light.
Feeling the imminent danger, Suì-Fēng uses her Utsusemi skill, leaving a temporary vision of herself in that still, battle-ready stance, as she shoots at a master's speed behind high up in the ceiling area of the hall, swinging her leg into a windmill kick, making purchase on the black figure who was seemingly preparing to dart down and make a move on where she once was. Her foot making contact with the stomach of the silent assassin, shooting the form into the hallway wall, up just below the ceiling. A cough of surprise and pain passing through the mouth covering mask that the unknown person was wearing. They slide down to the floor with a slump, eyes closed, like the force of the kick, and the added impact of their head slamming into the wooden wall had temporarily knocked them unconscious.
Suì-Fēng Has disappeared back into a burst of extreme shunpo speed after the attack was landed reappeared by the unconscious foe, looking down at what looked to be one of her own operatives. Focus twisted to anger on the woman's face as her foot lifted from to the ground onto the throat of the enemy. she surveyed him for a moment when her eyes hit a corner of white against the black of the uniform of the Stealth ops member in front of her.
She released her foot's grip on the subordinates throat as she called for her Hell Butterfly to call in all of her units to take the person into custody, while dropping to a crouch, using her middle and pointer fingers to slide into the pocket and snatching the note out. pulling it closer the paper fell open and read of what had gone on briefly with the thread of two more members now missing.
Her expressed jolted to shock as she shot back up to a stand, whipping around to find, as she expected, all of her force members standing in a row silently behind her. Her eyes shot down the line quickly counting over the bodies ready in the row. It was true. Her mouth shut to a tight line, her eyes large with focus, not showing a sign of worry to her other subordinates. "Seems this one was drinking on the job. Because of his behavior you all will be on double duty. The two not present are on a special mission upon my personal request and will not be reporting in tonight. I too must now leave for this matter. Do not concern yourselves with it's implements. You won't have time too. Thanks to this man here you will all be too busy doing intense surveys of the Division. No rest of leaving your newly assigned mission until I return and release you. Pair up and stay in contact with the rest of the Division on duty. I want this treated like a real scenario. Like because this one was drunk someone got in and we were on high alert. Take him into holding and begin the simulation. Dismissed!" Her voice stayed even and as commanding as ever.
The forms shimmered out as dismissal was called. No one batted an eye of whimpered out a complaint as she spoke. They knew better than that by now, working in the lethal Stealth ops behind the Captain before them. Such foolishness was weeded out long ago. Some may think this solitary choice to step into danger alone, as the note had asked. To keep those captured members of her Division alive. This was not so. No. She would go alone to silence the insolent fool who dared challenge her in such a way, her self. To her those men were already dead. Fine. If you aren't strong enough to survive, death was the outcome. This was the way of the world. It always had been.
A cruel grin crossed the Captain's lips as she too shimmered out. Her form reappeared above the Division, running across the rooftops towards the Portal back to the Human World town of Karakura. Here I come. She thought as she shot into the blackness of the gate.
~Skip to when she is approaching for time's sake~
Suì-Fēng Shot over the human homes, starting to sense the familiar reiatsu of her subordinates. It would seem the were alive still after all. She shimmered out and back in a few roofs away from the figure standing over the bound forms of the Stealth ops members. A taller long blonde hair's male figure, with his hand on one of her men. She currently had her own reiatsu suppressed, but she knew her arrival was out and the open as well as it being expected, she did not imagine she would be exactly a surprise.
Her face was calm. Like the calm before the storm. Her arms crossed tightly in front of her chest, feet shoulder- width apart. The rain beat against her, dampening her wardrobe. "You couldn't pick a nicer night to do this?" Suì-Fēng called out, her eyebrow slightly raised, voice firm.
He hadn'texpected to hear the voice speak so quickly, the reiatsu in the area was so low he had almost dismissed it as human. Well and truly impeccable, this would be an interesting exchange, from the greyness of the rain his blackened figure appeared, the oni mask hiding his face from recognition. His eyes immediately going to work on her, the captains garb she wore masked a petite frame, no doubt she would be extremely fast, her eyes as cold as his own and her tongue as cold as steel. Even without crossing blades he could feel the killing intent emanating from her, she was the real thing, unlike her lackeys that lay tied up behind him she was someone he would have to take seriously from the get go.
I apologize that our environment couldn't be more scenic, but I figured that any further away you would not have been fresh for the fight and as such it would not have been fair.
His eyes remained locked on her, he couldn't focus on one specific body part, no to do so would be suicide, her entire body must be considered as a weapon and he would treat as such.
That being said I think the rain adds a nice touch, don't you?
Though she couldn't see it, there was a smile forming on his lips, an excited one at that.
I hope you know you've opened a kettle of worms , his doll echoed from deep within the recesses of his mind, though he hadn't been summoned Schatten Damon remained attached as ring on his wrists, the doll would only be used if the situation grew dire, for now he would rely on his skill alone; it would have to be enough.
I have heard you can kill in two strikes, so lets make this a best of three then shall we? two clean hits decides the victor.
As an assassin any hit you landed on your foe would be deadly if not nigh fatal, she understood this as well as he. Drawing his hands together he softly cracked his knuckles, extending and retracting the fingers, this would be intense and fast he would have to be prepared for both and most importantly. . . he would have to strike first.
His dark form flickered momentarily in the rain, appearing slightly above her he lashed out with his right leg to catch her on the neck; for those weaker than he was this would be a killing blow, but for her it was a measure of her strength in contrast to his own, their first round had begun.
Suì-Fēng's eyes filled with surprise as her face fell into shock. Her stiff stature seemed to drop her confident composer as the man disappeared at a speed that almost matched her own. He's fast! She thought as she felt the ever so slight pause in the light wind and rain behind her. Her naturally reacting head turned, eyes following saw a glimpse of the blurring vision of the man returning behind and slightly above her, leg shooting down to make contact.
She herself used her Shunpo to disappear from the inbound strike, using her Utsusemi after image to hopefully pause him enough from noticing her own disappearing act, and instead follow through if he had the speed to stop midstrike and respond to her move. Suì-Fēng then reappearing to his left side, making a side-stepping kick, pulling up and in her left leg, shooting it out with great force aiming for the mid of his torso. She didn't dare make the same mistake and appear at an area where the wind would suddenly be blocked from or to pause the constant that was the rain's falling on each person. First to three, huh? Fine. I'll teach you for the insult to my pride in that much time.
For his first strike to land uncontested was, to say the least, far too easy. Something was up, yet her image appeared stricken, and the illusion would have worked had he not been paying attention, the neck did not make an audible snap as it usually did when his strike landed, given her frame it was nigh impossible she had the muscular fortitude to repel his strike, let alone take it full on. It was only when the immage flickered from view that realized the nature of what had occured.
A clever trick I'll give her that
He'd barely finished his own coherent thought before she appeared to his left, his blue eyes sliding across in reaction to her new position, given his initial kick struck air it was easy enough for him to quickly and instinctively plant his foot and pivot, directing his torso away from the oncoming kick as he twirled around the extended limb with an electric speed, his own garb ghosting hers as he let her momentum carry her forward before his frame flickered from view once mid movement.
Appearing before her, slightly to her right, he would complete his twirl, his left elbow raised and perfectly positioned such that it would smash into her chest as he finished his twirl, the transition was nigh perfect and even she would be hard pressed to respond, but then again this was what separated the captain class shinigami from their lower subordinates.
Their exchange was yet to reach its peak, but already he exhilaration of his blood pumping through his veins, this would be decided by a hair's thread, and he knew it.
