The old training grounds. A place familiar to Kiyu and all the time he had spend here learning the craft of his art. The Bakudo artist back here now realizing that it he would need more than just bakudo in order to be well rounded as a leader of the kido arts. With him, as always, would be his two zanpakuto blades, hanging perfectly upon his left side, sheathed and secured through the sash around his waist. On this occasion, he would also happen to have with him kido notes borrowed from the kidoshu library. IT was time to learn some spells. He had selected two spells he would want to learn; one powerful hado, and a Bakudo of formidable strength. The first being ofcourse Hiryugekizokushintenraiho. A very long name for a Hado that produces a very satisfying explosion.
As always, Kiyu began to concentrate on his reiatsu, making sure that it was well condensed and focused onto himself. This would also aide him with his reiatsu control, being that he had lost some of the ability to do so recently. A wave of surging pulses of reiatsu began to surround him as both hands slowly rose. He began to speak out using the incantation of the hado.
Dipolar tension, strike out! Burning streams fall from the maw of the great winged serpent, decimating all with thunderous potential! Hado no Hachijuu Hachi; Hiryugekizokushitenraiho!
The energy gathered on to his right palm as it aimed toward a nearby practice dummy. Thankfully the land was vast and open, and thus, as long as he was able to control his reiatsu and reiryoku, then nobody else nearby should be in any danger. He focused to keep his reiatsu from flaring out of control while trying to gather the reiryoku to use this technique, but his control was under par, and thus, the result was that the orb burned out before it could even fire.
Name: Hadō #88 Hiryugekizokushintenraiho (Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon) Class: Kido Tier: VI Type: Offensive Range: Medium (30m) Incantation: Dipolar tension, strike out! Burning streams fall from the maw of the great winged serpent, decimating all with thunderous potential! Description: Fires a gigantic electricity blast of spiritual energy at Cero speed resulting in an truly enormous explosion. With incantation, the range is boosted to 50m and it acquires stunning effects.
He went back in to review the notes he wrote down in his booklet, he knew for sure that there was something that he wasn't doing right. It was not the incant, but perhaps there was a problem with his control of the kido. The kido does demand a high amount of energy to be used, and sure enough, there would he would have to make sure his control was deeply refined. Once again, he would start at the same stance, arms relaxed and breathing calm. His reiatsu starting to flare up again as he focused his reiryoku. He had to make sure his reiatsu would not disturb the process of this training, thus, he would need to maintain focus on his flaring just to be sure that it was not a factor. His control of it would definitely improve by the end of this training, but by how much exactly. His arms began to rise again, palms aiming in front as both extremities became parallel to the ground.

His reiatsu began to flare up like an air vent put into the highest setting, as he concentrated to have that lowered, the orb of bright blue formed into his palm. It almost was ready to use, however, noted that it wasn't there yet, and to avoid damaging himself from a back fire, he aimed up and launched the beam that shortly exploded after all the energy had been fired from his hand. He ducked and covered as the shock from the explosion swooped over him. He was happy he recognized the potential danger and acted as he did. To rest, he would sit by a tree, and began to meditate while concentrating on his reiatsu.

Adamant to continue with the training, he allowed enough time to pass to recover himself from that terrible near miss of an explosion. His resolve without falter supplied the shinigami with determination to attempt the kido again. Taking his upright stance with mind at ease, his energy pulsated with effervescent enthusiasm. The anxiety of his own mental dialogue of motivation helped him through and be unscathed by what he nearly avoided, going through the same routine, his arms rose with a calm, and assertive motion, the incantation escaped his lips, syllable by enunciated syllable. His rabid reiatsu calming to a tamed force with strength.

Once again, his reiatsu flared wildly, his focused sparked and triggered that needed focus to keep it check as the blue orb grew. He knew he was getting close to getting this right, however, just like before, with a last ditch effort, the energy he had gathered would furiously launch forward, aiming toward the practice dummy designed to take a beating, but nothing of this caliber. The beam of explosive energy disintegrated the dummy upon contact, let alone burned anything that remained into ashes when the resulting explosion covered the field in front of the blonde shinigami. Covering his face from the gust of dirt and debris, Kiyu rose his arm over his eyes, as his robes and hair wavered sporadically. He has witnessed this spell before, and this was not as powerful as it should be. He was missing something more, he needed to focus more energy into this technique. He needed to be successful and be able to repeat this process every time he would try to perform this amazing spell.

Boasted with confidence, Kiyu only took a few moments to collect himself from that last attempt. The way he had progressed, he wanted to make sure that his next use would have a more suitable target that cleared enough distance to make sure he was safe from the blast of this spell. He understood more than anybody how badly one could hurt themselves when practicing Kido, having been found passed out previously during a session, taken to a hospital to recover. That blessing in disguise was how he met Karina. With a smile on his face, genuine bliss refilled his resolve. There was something about that girl that made gave him hope for lack of better words. Truthfully, he enjoyed her company and presence, and whether he wanted to admit, she gave him more push to better himself mentally.
He prepared the next demonstration. Arms dropped to his sides, gratuitously he ascended his extremities, creating perfect right angles as his arms were now perpendicular to his body and parallel to the ground. He spoke out, clear and without error, the incantation for this spell. The blue orb of energy growing from the epicenter of his palms. The sky almost darkened in contrast to the brilliance of this energy. His reiatsu flaring but faster than before, calmed as he focused to execute this kido.

The mass of his reiryoku gathered into one spot, almost unexpectedly, the push back of the exertion of the beam slid him a few inches backwards as the azure energy flew with radiant fervor. The practice dummy about 30 meters away was soon blanketed by the hue of this amazing spell, as the explosion obliterated it and flashes of red towered over the field. He looked up in awe at the show as the massive wall of fire rose before slowly fading into oblivion. The flames along the ground slowly diminished as well, Kiyu knew he got the spell right, but he would do attempt it again, to make sure that it has been properly learned and perfected.

It was a little ironic to think of a person who was highly skilled in Bakudo suddenly needing to reteach himself how to use the spells he had learned long ago. It wasn't that his memory was faulty, but that his energy was completely new, it felt different than what he had originally. Perhaps it had matured, or even altered during his voluntary services. All that mattered was that he was capable of performing the art that he admired, even if it was a hado spell, he was content with knowing that the support would always be available. After taking a bit to recover his exhausted energy and focus, he stood back up, abandoning the shade underneath the tree. The training ground has seen its fair share of punishment; evidence of abuse and use can be seen, and it was indisputable the frequency of use. There was at least one soul that would be present, perfecting that trigger and execution, learning a new talent, expanding his wide knowledge to new heights. It was time to proceed, he had to look ahead and look at the path he had already paved, and not the path behind him.
His arms dropped down once more, the energy already causing torrents of his reiatsu to flare. Keeping his control sharp, he'd isolate his reiryoku into his palms they became conjoined. The spherical orb expanded as Kiyu fed it his focused energy; already compounding the spell as he spoke out every word of the incantation. With the combined motivation of his resolve and desire to become stronger, the words, the energy, it all came like it was second nature.
Dipolar tension, strike out! Burning streams fall from the maw of the great winged serpent, decimating all with thunderous potential! Hado no hachijuu Hachi; Hiryugekizushitenraiho!
Fully expecting the push back from the recoil, Kiyu planted his right foot against the ground behind him as the azure beam propelled toward the target about 30 meters away. Much like his previous attempt, the dummy stood no chance in even surviving, let alone there being any proof that it had ever existed prior to being hit by the spell. His arms would slowly fall back to his side as Kiyu watched the result of his progress. Now it would be time to move on to another spell... a Bakudo.

A wide smile appeared on his face as he began reading through the notes of the bakudo he was about to practice. Nothing brought Kiyu more joy than practicing an art that he loved, and in this case, this was a bakudo that he had previously learned, but due to the change of his reiryoku, it was like he didn't know how to use the kido at all. He noted the execution, the stance, everything about the bakudo, refreshing his memory of the basics. He knew very well how the kido was suppose to feel like when it was properly executed, as well as how it is displayed. With one arm aiming outward, he located another nearby dummy, one that was not destroyed by a hiryugekizushitenraiho... and began. The incantation was slowly recited, gathering his reiryoku as he always would. His reiatsu flaring again from the formation of learning this spell once again... Kiyu did his best to contain it while he focused.
Bakudo no Nanajuu Kyuu: Kuyou Shibari!
The energy was gathered, however as it executed, it dispersed all wrong, the black holes scattered wildly and had no real aim as to where they were being attempted to aim at. At least he was able to get some execution off while trying to get this kido right. He couldn't be too upset at the result. Controlling his reiatsu seemed to be important during his attempts, thus, focusing on reiatsu at the same time as attempting the kido would greatly benefit his cause and progress. He softly rubbed his right temple, skimming through the notes that he had previously acquired at the library, noted somethings and even changed a few notes during this initial phase. Perfection was key, and any slip up could mean a horrid fate for either himself or somebody he truly needed to protect.
Name: Bakudo #79 Kuyou Shibari (Nine Sunlight Traps) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: VI Range: 50 Meters Incantation: Unknown Description: Creates eight black holes the emit spiritual energy in the personal space surrounding the target with a ninth black hole manifesting in the center of the targets chest.
There was not much time to divulge in his own awkward curiosities. The quicker he attempted and practiced these kidos, the faster he would feel confident about other things he needs. With a deep breath, he began to contemplate about what his future may actually hold; not certain of things can be pretty mind-wrecking, given something he had was lost, this .... for lack of better words, replacement has been given Kiyu mixed feelings about it all. Certainly he had not taken too long to master the use of his new zanpakuto's shikai form, however, he had faced the trials of obtaining Bankai, and this time, he had two spirits to contend with, and not just one. Once again, his right arm would raise, hand and fingers stretched out as he cited the spell's incantation for a second time. There was no need to be hasty, Kiyu needed to concentrate on two things, keeping his reiatsu from disturbing the execution of his kido, and making sure that the black holes aren't flying wherever they please.
Bakudo no Nanajuu Kyuu; Kuyou Shibari!
The kido fired off however, it seemed that this time the black holes were too crowded together, and when the ninth black hole appeared over the dummy, it completely caused all of them to disperse with no organized trajectory. Ducking to avoid one of them, Kiyu brushed his hair back with one hand, while he held open the his notes. Something was off; definitely his execution, but he didn't understand why. He followed the notes exactly and even repeated the instructions step by step. Perhaps there was something else needed... an instinct or even determining factor. This was a binding Kido after all, and in order to be successfully bind your opponent, all the factors needed to be keyed in to securely fasten them down.... maybe, there was something Kiyu was missing... something that he had forgotten as well.

Not only did his reiryoku change from his previous state, but his reiatsu did as well. Kiyu's old natural reiatsu was perfectly akin for Bakudo, perhaps it was why he loved that Kido type as oppose to Hado or anything else for that matter. Maybe it was time to solely concentrate on how his reiatsu reacted to creating the Kido, as oppose to trying to contain it. Maybe it worked perfectly for Hiryugekizushitenraiho, baring that he needed to compact a lot of energy into one space before unleashing it, but this time... perhaps he needed to focus his reiatsu a different way. As he prepared to gather his reiryoku, Kiyu closed his eyes and was solely attentive to how his reiatsu was reacting. He spoke out the incantation, and immediately felt what was going on. His reiatsu was naturally trying to disperse itself, trying to evenly surround him while this Kido was being formed, however, he knew that the only thing he needed to evenly distribute was the bakudo itself into nine parts. Perhaps that is what he needed to do with his reiatsu to match the reiryoku flow of Kuyou Shibari.
Bakudo no Nanajuu Kyuu; Kuyou Shibari!
He focused his reiatsu, attempting to coat his reiryoku and himself with it, while matching the flow of the reiryoku. The first eight black holes began to appear around the dummy, planting one by one to different spots, and finally the ninth one centered on the dummy's body. At first look, it seemed like a successful execution, but as Kiyu drew closer, he noticed that the black holes were completely unaligned, and some planted behind the practice doll and even some were in front. It took Kiyu needing to draw closer to notice this. He knew he was getting there, but he needed to make sure that this Kido was perfect.

Understanding what he needed to do now, Kiyu wasted no time in preparing himself for another attempt. This time, he would immediately start focusing on his reiatsu, making sure to not only bring it in, but to also match the flow of his reiryoku to his hand as it formed the eight black holes with the ninth coming at the end of the spell's execution. His right arm extended out in front, and the calm determination filling Kiyu with the brightest of hopes. The incantation cited at normal pace as Kiyu began to trust his natural ability in the art. IT all seemed to start to come together again, realizing that he had not truly lost his gift, but had to rediscover it in a new way. His eyes opened up, seeing the world in a new light, and it didn't frighten him. He chuckled, almost as if his worries were now insignificant given the familiarity and parallels to his previous experiences.
Bakudo no Nanajuu Kyuu; Kuyou Shibari!
His reiatsu flared at the last moment as the eight black holes launched from his finger tips, planting around the dummy, seemingly aligning so that it was to the sides, above, and just underneath where the dummy stood upon the wooden stake. The ninth black hole planting strongly on the test doll. He couldn't avoid it, he was truly at ease at this point, understanding that nothing stays lost forever. Even though he had a long way to go, he knew that he would be successful during his trials, and that he can look forward to the day where he would ask his zanpakuto about the wonders of the bankai it has in store for him. There was one more thing that he wanted to test out, and that was truly discovering how much different his reiatsu control is now that he understood a lot more what happens when executing a kido, while he contained it from acting wildly. With the strength and energy demand of the kido had just learned, it was an incredible feat just having done this at the time he had done so.

As Kiyu prepared himself, he wanted to test out two things; the strength of his reiatsu over another object, and finally, how much he was able to compress and hide his reiatsu. Approaching the practice dummy, he looked over and around, and began to exert his reiatsu. Slowly, the pressure began to build up, and the density increased. Normally, there would be just some shaking when it comes to how his spiritual pressure felt, but as he continued, the dummy began to shiver under the weight of his reiatsu. Where it normally stopped, the build surpassed that, and continued forth. Kiyu was surprised just how much stronger his reiatsu felt, and kept going till the shiver started to turn into quaking. The dummy clattered about in place, almost seemingly ready to tear apart into shreds and completely collapse. Kiyu proceeded, his reiatsu still increasing in density, and the intensity of the effect on the dummy increasing. With one final push, Kiyu's reiatsu skyrocketed, with a yell, his reiatsu exploded, causing the dummy to completely fall apart and get carried away by Kiyu's power.
Immediately, while this pressure was up, Kiyu began to suppress. Quickly drawing it back in, calming the area around him as his reiatsu started to fade more and more. Soon there was no evidence of his reiatsu even after such a effervescent demonstration. Picking up his things, feeling completely content with the results, it was time to head back to the barracks, maybe squeeze in a quick physical work out, and finally head home for the day. Most of the time, Kiyu was focused on his training, and improving on his knowledge and skills as a shinigami and all the shinigami arts. Soon, he would feel completely prepared for the challenge that was ahead, one that would truly test his abilities as a shinigami, and his understanding on how to use Shikai. Without all the preparation, Kiyu would definitely find it difficult to deal with, especially given how under prepared and lucky he was when he had first obtained his bankai with Ekishou. He knew that this time, he won't let that happen again.
