"Higher guard, higher."
"Ow"
"Agghhh"
"My foot!"
"Keep your guard up then! Stop looking at what they are doing and focus on yourself!"
"But- ow"
"Guard"
"Screw you, you think you are so-ow"
"Stop insulting me and hit me already!"
"Take that!"
"Don't yell out when you are about to strike"
"Fine"
"Fine what?"
"Fine, loser"
"What?"
"I said fine, lo-fuck, my arm, you bastard"
"Guard up"
"You just cut my guard off"
"Medic"
-sigh-
Yorishou had been asked to take a few academy students through fighting styles, these were meant to be the best of their group, the crème de la crème of the class, the very best in their peers at weapon skill. But so far, 5 vs him, and not one had so much as made him sweat or nicked him. They would need to try a lot harder if they ever planned to take out a hollow, a hollow would have eaten them all by now. Guard too low, guard too high, too fast striking, too hasty, they all had their faults. What they really needed was an example. However their teacher was otherwise taken, leaving him with his best students and a division 4 team for when the delicate little flowers were hurt. While he did not really condone violence unless needed. Training was another thing all together. And he was sure that kids arm would be fine when they had stuck it back on. Maybe.
"Ok, again, you three, around me and attack at once."
They all slashed forwards, he parried two, sending one into the third, one got a hilt in the face, one fell over and the third backed away, lowering his sword in defeat. Yorishou stepped behind him, levelling his sword on the students shoulder. "You would retreat, not looking where you are going, while facing a stronger, faster opponent?"
He tapped the shoulder with the sword, the student spinning around, sword out, he stepped to the side, tapping the student on the side of his head with the flat side of the blade, the student went stumbling. He felt someone else approach from behind, pretending he did not notice until the person was close, when he would spin around and block the obvious attack coming. "Not bad attacking when I am distracted, but you will have to try a lot harder to get the jump on someone like me."

Meilin watched on as the Academy students got instructed on how to use a sword. She had only came across this scene by chance and being that she was a weapon enthusiast herself decided to stop and take a quick peek. She just couldn't help herself. However these students were... were not up to snuff to say the least. You could tell the guy teaching them, more like abusing them, wasn't impressed in the least. Hell, he didn't even seem to be working up a sweat. These academy students were getting weaker and weaker, only everyone once in a while some prodigy erupts out of nowhere. Though more often than not they tend to die early because they go off all gung-ho thinking nobody is stronger than they are.
Hmm, perhaps she should help this other shinigami here help teach these young ones a lesson. She placed a foot on the railing for the balcony and jumped down, heading straight for the shinigami who had knocked the other three down. With a smile on her face, she drew one of her swords and went for the obvious strike to the back of the head, which he managed to block. Had he not she would've stopped just a fraction of an inch away from him.
She chuckled at his trash talk, she would've been surprised if he couldn't have sensed her coming with her massive reiatsu. "Don't flatter yourself. I expect someone in diapers to be able to block that." Of course this jab was more to the useless students around them than to the shinigami before her. "It seems like you kiddies could use an extra tutor." She sheathed her zanpakutō and used her right hand to put her a strand of loose hair back into place. Her deep blue eyes scanned the crowd of students determining if any of them was worth it.
"So who want's to give it a go with me?" She glanced to her right at the shinigami she had sneak attacked earlier. "How about you?"

Yorishou copied the newcomers actions, sheathing his own sword, mirroring her to the second. This was partly manners, showing that he was respecting her action and her presence there. Partly to show the younger ones who may not know who she was that they should show likewise respect and reframe from attacking during the interaction. He was not sure who she was, but to talk so surely and, to be frank, conveniently. He had been wanting someone else to spar with to show the younger ones what they could achieve if they practiced. And it seemed this, at a glance, duel zanpakutou user, could be interested. He only hoped her swordplay was as flashy as her speech.
Stepping aside as she addressed the students, challenging them, of course, none reacted. They had spent the last hour or so being beaten up by him, of course they would not want to fight her, especially as her entrance and action so far made it looks like she was the superior skilled one. However the students also knew that he was part of the 11th division, and being new as they were, they pitied the lady. Challenging an 11th to a swordfight was asking to be killed in their opinion. Rumours spread around in the academy, stereotypes if you will.
He bowed his head at her question, "Very well, lets show the students something to remember" he flashed a smile at the students who smirked back nervously "You might want to step back a bit, this could get dangerous" the students retreated to a safe distance, the one without an arm re-joined them, his arm in a sling but the fingers wiggling slightly showed it had been healed. He took out his own sword, getting to around 10m away, the students to his right (your left). Swinging the sword around 360 vertically, he stabbed the ground a couple of times, bringing it around in front on him in a basic stance. His left arm behind him, his right arm brought it up in front of him. He bowed in respect of the fight "No name calling, no biting, stepping is allowed but lets make sure the kids can keep up."

Meilin smiled, this one seemed sure of himself. She wondered which squad he was from. She glanced at the insignia on his uniform which gave her the answer she wanted. The 11th division, the muscle bound squad. Well she shouldn't muscle bound, but they were the most athletic. Perhaps this would be fun than she thought. She waited as her opponent readied himself after taking her up on her challenge. She watched as he did his routine, strange she'd never seen anything like this before, but to each there own.
Once he was done and took his stance, he bowed to Meilin. It seems he was also one to be very respectful. "I make no promises about them being able to keep up. I mean we do want to give them something to work for." She said as she returned the bow. She smiled then, and took off a bit faster than most shinigami at her level were usually capable of without shunpo.
"Meilin Tachibana, Squad 1, Unseated, Noble Guard." She introduced herself as she quickly ate up the 10m distance between them, her right quickly reached to her left hip and grabbed onto the hilt of her zanpakuto. She drew quickly, a diagonal slash aiming from the lower left to the upper right. In truth, it was a drawing skill mostly used to end fights quickly between masters, but she decided she'd give the little kids a little show on how to properly wield a sword. As she carried through with her strike her left hand settled onto her other hilt, ready to draw and counter should the need arise.

He stood still until the last second, then arrogantly just moved to the side, going under her blade, his body matching the angle of her blade. His own sword was in front of him, should she change the angle of her sword it was in the way to block. He grabbed her shoulder, keeping the blade away from him and blocking her other one should she draw it with his body. He spun, pushing off of her shoulder and leapt into the air, spinning while doing so until some space was between them. So the students were now on the left of both of them with Yorishou behind her.
He put his sword down low, would wait until she had turned around to him and then attacked. He would swipe from right to left, back down diagonally to the right, the sword loosened in his hand, holding the sword backhand and slicing at her legs. His legs were slightly out front, ready to dart backwards if she counter attacked or anything he could not block. Looking up dead into her eyes "Yorishou Kiyoshi, The Mettle Prince of division 11." He said loudly. It was a dangerous attack to do, full of holes and such.
But he was not fighting to be good, he was fighting to show different attacks, styles. And whether this division 1 could spot them. He assumed she was the same, giving eachother weak, simple attacks to gauge eachothers strength. It was just a matter of time before they turned up the heat a little, but he had the feeling the students would need to back up some more if they got serious.

He made easy work of her initial attack, spinning to the outside of her blade and using body to keep the second in check. Not bad, not bad at all. She shifted her weight rocking back onto her heel as she followed his turn, so that she never lost sight of him as he moved around her. As he leapt in the air to get away she smirked. What was it about the sky that felt so safe. She pushed off again at the same speed, reaching the spot he landed in at the same time as him.
He'd accounted for everything in this get away strategy of his, except for the fact that she was a tad faster than him currently, while taking to the skies momentarily removed him from her range it still gave her the time to cover the distance he was trying to gain. "Leaving so soon?"
She charged, going for a shoulder check with her left shoulder, she attempted to push him backwards some more since he wanted to get away so much. Hopefully she would have caught him off guard and been able to knock him off balance, making it harder to dodge her follow up as her right hand came swinging down from the upper right once more.

The voice held no sign of animosity or anger, but there was a sharpness and a certainty there that made it quite clear any other person would've been shouting right now. The speaker entered the training room slowly, surveying the room. There was around him an oddly clean smell, something that reminded momentarily of orange zest and coconuts. He hardly even seemed aware of it, or of the looks of baffled silence that the three younger shinigami had at this point. He wasn't wearing his official robes today, so his armor-mostly ornamental of course, just there to make sure he didn't provoke someone into a stupid act by appearing a civilian- was on full display.
Shio stretched ever so slightly, his weapon held in one hand as he walked forward. There wasn't any sense of hurry about him, nor any sense of arrogance. He simply walked into the room as if he were entering his own home, absolutely comfortable and quietly curious. He finally sat down next to the students themselves, smiling slightly and touching his hand to the cheek of one. The one with the wounded arm, in fact. He let it linger there for just a second, until he felt their muscles relax, and then nodded slightly.
"What's your name, soldier?"
"Danto. I'm a squad three."
"Well here's your problem. You shouldn't have been talking while you fought at all. Anything that needs to be said during a fight should be brought up when the fight ends. Now get out of here. You're not going to learn anything from sitting there and cradling your sore parts. These two are getting whipped into a frenzy, and I'm honestly not sure they even know why they're fighting anymore. It's only going to get worse, and in a minute or two you'll just hear clangs and profanities."
He rose slowly once more, holding up his tanto and looking at it experimentally.
"It's a bit of a conundrum. I can't really have a swordfight without using my shikai. But if I do, both of you will no doubt feel compelled to do so as well. I know how these sort of things go."

As he landed he realised his tactic had been disrupted, a flash of black as the 1st charged into him, he moved his sword out of the way to avoid impaling her. Resting one hand on the shoulder she used, he would be sent flying backwards, past a new figure standing there holding a short sword or a dagger. His movement too fast to see what exactly he was holding. Having pushed off just after the jump, he spun sideways through the air, turning it into a hand spring and double kicked towards the man. He had just sent the students away and so the fight would need to get interesting to make up for the aim of the spar being ruined.
"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" he did not know this man, but as he got closer he saw the small blade the man held. No one ran around with random weapons unless they were going somewhere. He was just standing there watching, so that was this mans zanpakutou. Interesting. No one in 11th would have a sword that small, and he knew everyone in 11th. Almost everyone. He would certainly have heard if one of them had such a weapon. He held his sword at his waist, ready to flick down and parry should the shinigami attack his legs with his blade.

The other shinigami had once again evaded her attack. She had to admit he was rather good at not being hit, but He seemed to have a problem with staying on the ground. Her eyes followed his movements as he went backwards, springing off his hand into the back flip. Training with Tatsuya-senpai over the years taught her to cut those movements out of her swordplay. Keeping all her habits, small and miniscule. Or at least she tried to anyways.
As she watched the 11th squad shinigami perform his gymnastics she heard another voice speak up, and looked over. It seemed they had a newcomer and he had realized this was no longer about teaching the students. How astute of him. Meilin didn't care about educating those three fools at in the first place. She was just hear for the fun of taking on someone worth having a spar with.
The new shinigami sent the students away, which was fine by Meilin. All he did was give them more room to play really. Though it wasn't long before her other opponent caught her attention once more. Her initial target was now... targeting the newcomer? What, why? Did he not want to play with her anymore? Her blue eyes glanced back at the other boy to see him holding a dagger in his hand. Hmm, it would be difficult to use that in this fight? She wondered what the new dude had in him. Perhaps she would wait and see what he would do to defend against this sudden random attack. Then and only then, would Meilin bother to interfere.

Shio's tone was soft and lilting, all hint of animosity and seriousness seeming to have evaporated from the attempt of Yorishou to strike him in such a roundabout, obvious way. Shio's zanpakuto was extended, with a gesture remarkably similar to a severe teacher attempting to prod someone with a ruler. As he did, he began to murmur, in the soft tones of one who was used to speaking them time and time again, with an odd lilting cadence that brought to mind old childhood rhymes.
"The skies blacken and your foul deeds are for naught. Oh dark and tremulous being, be undone."
Yorishou's feet planted themselves firmly against a golden-yellow barrier, which held firmly in place, even pressing forward just so slightly at the point of impact as if it were a trampoline. Shio shuffled to the side slowly, with an almost smooth gliding motion, approaching the other combatant and running a hand through his hair. He didn't seem at all upset or worried by the fact he had just been attacked, extending his hand slowly. The warm, unconcerned smile on his face was almost disturbing, as he glanced back over his shoulder towards the other one.
"Shio Mora, division one. Unseated. Please do go easy on me. I wasn't expecting to be dragged into a real fight today, and I'm honestly not sure if I could handle your animosity. We might even have to work together one day." He flashed the smallest bit of white from between his lips, the sweet, vaguely tropical smell around him all the more notable now.

"Oh for, really" he snapped as soon as his feet hit the barrier. He was no novice, he knew it was a binding kido, they were taught all of this stuff in the academy. Even if he could not do it himself, he still knew what they did. He immediately swung his sword around, forming a large hammer that shattered the shield, freeing him. The hammer disappeared from his sword, landing on the small of his back and springing with his hands back to his feet. He turned around, stupid division 1s, first of all they butt into his training. He thought it was no coincidence they were here, ganging up on him then acting like it was a co-incidence. He turned on the balls of his feet, cracking his neck as he turned and adjusting his jaw before making after the man as he talked to the female. He had forgotten their names already, too far away to hear his and had not fully heard the womans in the midst of a battle.
The man glanced over his shoulder, and would spot Yorishou walking briskly towards him. Sword raised "I don't know if you noticed, but this is a sword fight. Keep your kido out or I will be inclined to breaking out a few of my own abilities" He held no spite in his voice, just confidence. "You obviously heard me before so lets dispense with the pleasantries and get down to the fun part." placing a second hand on his sword, he slashed across the man, left to right, no matter which way the man faced.

She watched as the young man ended the bout quickly using a kido. Hmm it wasn't quite what she was hoping for, she wanted to see his dagger in action but she supposed she had to admit he was resourceful. If he were to join in on the fun then she'd have to keep an eye out for that pesky kido. Fortunately most of them took time to perform as they required an incantation to be used to their full potential. It was why she wasn't fond of them. They required too much time, and was dangerous to do alone in a one versus one situation. Worse if it were many against one. Whereas with her reiryoku techniques all she had to do was manipulate her spiritual energy.
Point number two as to why she didn't really like kido came across quickly as Yorishou broke through the spell. Most shinigami, even if they didn't use kido, knew most of them and their effects. Seeing as they all had to learn it in the Academy. Her personal techniques were only known to those who saw them, and she didn't often use them.
As the other male approached her and introduced himself as a member of her squad, she smiled and pointed with her right hand behind him. "That's sweet, but you should really pay attention. He's coming. Try to stick to just the dagger this time." She goaded him on, wanting to try one more time to see what the kid had. If he did nothing, well then she'd simply pick back up where she had left off. Hell, she'd do that either way. This was her fight initially anyhow. Though she was glad to be getting a peek at their techniques before they were used against her.

"What I noticed was a stray dropkick. I don't have any intention of playing fair while you decline to reciprocate."
Shio's voice was as mild and fluting as earlier, almost like a bird cry as he turned back towards the battle-crazed shinigami. The eleventh division had its purpose, naturally. Sometimes Shio felt like that purpose was to frustrate those more civilized with their antics and their constant insistence on outright ludicrous displays of superiority. He turned towards Yorishou, his hand slowly and idly slipping over the guard of his tanto, revealing the blade for the first time. A sideways swipe was quite dangerous, well-poised to bifurcate him if his opponent was suitably strong. Shio would need some very skilled leverage to avoid this blow.
Shio's blade slid out, the pommel so remarkably short, his reach only barely managing to allow his weapon to impact the tip of the blade before it would've impacted his torso. A simple, smooth flick of the wrist sent the blow up and to the side...which was unfortunately towards his head. The blow had turned from a gore-bringer to an eye-gouger, almost certainly bad enough to leave Shio's guard down. But the angle was off now, and if he tilted his head just so...
He'd find himself knocked onto his ass rather than left with a concussion, rubbing against the tender and leaking spot over his scalp, already spilling blood over his face and eyes. The hit had been painful, no doubt about that...and getting back up to his feet could waste him some precious time. But while he was down here, he could at least have a moment or two to think and figure out his next action.
{Spoiler} Alright, so by blocking your attack with a basic action, Shio is able to reduce the damage by one tier, making it into a tier 2. Since the new target is his head, it's still a pretty nasty blow, but it's nothing that'll leave him unable to continue.

Yorishou's eyes widened as the female tipped off the new guy, he turned just in time, blocking his attack with a glancing angle. His blade skimmed over the top of the opponents dagger, moving it up and around to the side. A typical 11th division would keep the sword going, taking a little too much off the top than the 1st division male would have liked. But luckily for him, Yorishou had an IQ higher than a planktons droppings and had the adrenaline control to turn his blade, hitting the man with the side of the edge just in time to avoid major damage. He was not sure how tough the mans skin was but even then edge of the blunt end seemed to have drawn more than enough blood.
He immediately withdrew his sword, spinning around him and engaging the female until the male was prepared to re-join the fight. Turning the spin into another simple slash from right to left across her upper chest, just above her breast. He heard the man behind him say something however Yorishou did not quite catch it over the whistle of wind in his ears. The slash was wild, and would be followed through, spinning again and slashing from top right to bottom left.

Meilin watched as the two males tangoed for a short period. From what she could see they were both fairly good, but newcomer seemed to either be holding back or just didn't know how to properly use a dagger. Not that she was an expert so she'd keep that remark to herself for now. Her eyes followed them closely watching as Yorishou stepped by his fallen opponent to carry on his onslaught against her.
"And I thought you'd never come back."
When the first slash came she stepped back just out of range of his sword, doing a similar action to dodge the second. She had to admit he was pretty fast, he came a lot closer to hitting her than most people did. Meilin stepped forward immediately after the second swipe with her right foot and made to strike down hard with her blade towards the shinigami's now open shoulder.
Regardless of whether or not he managed to block or dodge she would stop short of hitting him and simply tapping his shoulder should the blow land before performing a shunpo and appearing in front of Shio with slightly bended knees as she tried to scissor both her swords at his throat.
"Stay sharp if you plan on playing this game, you might get hurt."

Shio was still ever-so-gently probing at the side of his head, gauging the severity of the wound. He could already tell that the shinigami had held back, and he wasn't in any immediate danger. The skin had broken, but it was more of a slow oozing than a true bleed. Nothing that couldn't heal within a day or two. He probably wouldn't even need kido to speed it up, if all went well. He was already in the process of pushing to his feet once more, that same odd expression of preoccupation on his face as he began to brush off his outfit with one hand. Meilin had already started trying to continue the fight while he was indisposed, going for a pretty nasty blow onto Yorishou's shoulder...only for her to shunpo past him? There was only one explanation for that.
She was in front of him in a split second, trying to lever her blades towards him like she was wielding an enormous pair of scissors. It was an odd image, one that almost made Shio giggle, but he had a feeling that would make the throbbing in his skull even worse. Still, his hand flashed up almost before he realized it, clashing against one of her blades. The force behind her blows wasn't inconsiderable, but some deep-down part of Shio had already decided on his course of action. If he was any judge, the hand Meilin favored was the left, and all it'd take was a slight adjustment, just a few degrees off. Having both of her blades so close together made it hard to dodge anywhere but backwards, and that was almost certainly her hope. But he wasn't going to fall for anything that simple. Instead, he swung his tanto towards her blade from the outside, prepared to tangle the two together and leave her attack as little more than a mess of metal, aimed straight for him. It'd still hurt like a bitch, but he'd be able to handle a little pain.
"Can we please skip the banter? I've already got a headache. I just want to finish up here, and go back to my quarters."

She was no-ones fool, that was for sure, expertly dodging both of his attacks then neatly going in for a reply. However neither was he, his speed may have not been on his side but the distance between her sword and his open shoulder was a distance even her increased speed could not close in time. He continued the spin, putting a little extra power into it and narrowing avoiding her blade as it would sail past him. He moved around again, as her attack would have in turn, hopefully left her shoulder open. It had not, his blade meeting thin again as she went to deal with the male 1st division. It was not exactly a smooth fight, it seemed more like a 1v1v1 than a all v all. Having small fights between two of them than a fight between all three. This was definitely not going to give him anything, to get better and actually train, he would need practice in a difficult fight. Not an interesting fight with one person.
It was time to kick this fight up a notch. He turned around dramatically, once again swinging his sword around either side of him before it settled into his hand. Sliding it into his sheath slightly loose. He ran up behind the male, jumping/stepping into a two feet kick, he would bounce off the male, then flip backwards, the sword falling out of the sheath and then, landing on his hands he would kick the sword by the hilt towards the left leg of the male, if the male moved, it would hit the front of the females right leg. Then lowering himself gymnastically backwards onto his feet, looking for the reaction.

Hmm once more, the shinigami made a not bad move parrying with his dagger though for some reason he always seemed to end up leaving himself open after that. Almost as if he were begging to be impaled by her blades. Seeing as she wasn't playing to wound anyone here today she allowed her body to go along with his parry. Her left foot stepping in front of her right as she moved towards Shio's outside, diverting the tips of her swords away from his shoulder.
As she did so she caught a glimpse of Yorishou coming towards them just as he exited his shunpo and attempted his drop kick. Meilin decided to use this to her advantage, continuing her turn on the ball of her right foot, she brought the the back of her right blade up towards Shio's neck in attempt to hit him there as turned her back towards Yorishou.
Though this didn't mean she took her attention off him as she watched him from the corner of her eyes. Should his drop kick land, Shio would most probably sent forward into her blade, putting him down for a few seconds at the least. Regardless Meilin didn't wait to see if this would happen as she bounced backwards as she swung her right blade towards Shio's neck, her own drop kick now aimed at Yorishou's face at the same time. In his his current position, it would be hard for him to dodge.
{Spoiler}Overwhelming Power: This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%.
Oh, child! Child! Enough of this tomfoolery! Stop playing little games with these two! You're a shinigami, a proud member of a proud race! Let them see you spread your feathers!
It's a two-on-one, Lethia. No unseated shinigami could handle themselves in a two-on-one. It's natural that I'd lose.
A second, a dreadful cold silent second. As always, Shio was ready to wait out the silence, to let his meddling 'mother' have her attempt to un-nerve him, put him off of his game. It was a familiar trick, one he'd gotten very good at waiting out. This silence wouldn't trip him up, wouldn't make him forget what was important here. He was just training, and beyond that he was out-numbered. What point was there to trying to make these two start pulling out their hair over the simple fact that their opponent was outperforming them? Where was the benefit in pushing himself back to the side of things? He was perfectly content to walk the wide, simple road of mediocrity.
You mean it's better that you lose.
Shio rocked like he'd been slapped, even before Yorishou had managed to attack. He inhaled, feeling the words escaping his lungs even before he realized what he was saying, even before he felt his hand sliding behind himself, holding his tanto in it. He felt his reaitsu starting to surge and expand, the smell of tropical fruits growing stronger, almost cloying now...like they had suddenly begun fighting in a produce department that had gone overripe. His grip remained easy and careful on his zanpakuto, but the knuckles were turning white for no explicable reason.
"Break and mend, Taroba."
It was instant, and it was almost unsettling to watch; the small blade in Shio's hand began to melt and run together, turning from metal into something else entirely. A bright light filled the air, hovering just a few inches from Shio's head. Like a floating lantern, the foxfire waited patiently for some foolish soul to follow after it. In the split second it took Yorishou to finish his dropkick, Shio's miniscule dagger had turned into an enormous, almost frighteningly large slab of glimmering white, something that looked quite well-suited to decapitate a horse and its rider in a single smooth swing. His hand rested carefully on the top, and Yorishou would've found it surprisingly unyielding, like kicking a wall.
In the same instant, Shio's head turned ever so slightly to the side, his lips opening in the faint manner of one who seemed like they were about to whisper sweet nothings. Instead, his lips clamped down ever so slightly around the foxfire hovering just above his shoulder, holding it in his mouth for a split second. The light was snuffed out, bringing into stark contrast the rest of the room...and making it nearly impossible not to notice as Shio's blade once more melted and ran loose, turning into something that resembled a rapier, complete with an elaborate handguard. The weapon flashed through the air, already seeming to whip around in an oddly flexible way. Shio had already released the wick of his weapon, flame springing to life just over his hand as he smiled that same serene grin at Meilin. His weapon whipped upwards, his blade flicking outwards towards Meilin's wrist, the guard perfectly poised to catch her blade, and halt her spinning motion.
Had the 11th division brute decided to follow through on his attempt to bounce away, he would've been well-poised to land another strike if he felt so inclined. But there was something glittering in Shio's eyes now, and as he looked back at Yorishou, he almost sounded excited.
"I did ask rather nicely for you to go easy on me. I guess you can release yours too, if you think you need it."
Description: By snuffing out the wick atop his shikai, Shio is capable of allowing his shikai to lose its rigidity, becoming as malleable as the wax it's made of. While in this form he can remold and forge the zanpakuto, allowing it to take on whatever new weapon form he prefers.

If Meilin continued with her kick then Yorishou would look up just in time to see her feet collide with his face, her extra speed overwhelming his reaction time. Falling over backwards and taking a minor head shaking, but turning it into a roll and coming up again, head tilted first to see if she would continue her attack, ready to dodge or parry if needed.
If Shio had caught her hand and prevented the spin then he would remain where he was and watch the situation unfurl. He knew as soon as that dagger became a sturdy wall that he had released, the reiatsu coming out of the 1st divisions was palpable. However it was clear the female could stand up to him, despite already being in release he knew she was holding back. But the fact that the male had to release to block Yorishou in sealed said a lot about their difference in...not power, they seemed to be around the same level. But experience? He did not seem like the fighting type, more the reading books on how to fight type.
Either way he would face the pair, spinning his sword again in what was becoming an arrogant habit. "Seeing as this is at bedrock, a training exercise, I will retain my release for now. There is more improvement to be gained by fighting two shikai than three shikai fighting." Leaning on his left leg and holding his sword downwards with his right hand, it trailed along the floor next to him as he walked back towards them. Looking at ease and open, however every step and movement of his shoulders birthed a new possibility of defence or attack.
