It was not often anymore that Abel found himself in the human world, let alone a place other than Germany or France. Roaming on his lonesome, he sought to venture Japan and it's fabled Karakura town. A lively little place, and it just so happened to provide an abundance of spiritual activity. To say Abel wasn't looking for something would be a mistake.
'Still don't quite know what it is though...' Trekking along a treeline at the border of the town's outer limits, the sun had begun to make it's decline unto the horizon. Nightfall would be upon Karakura soon enough, and with it Abel would await to see any signs of a spiritual entity in the area. While he wasn't exactly very good at sensing anything, he could at least allow his reiatsu to go uncapped in order to work as a two-way tracking device. If any hollow came to investigate, they'd find him waiting there with a smug smirk on his face.
Dangling from it's tied position on his wrist was Abel's Quincy Cross, which was already slightly emanating reishi in order to construct his sword. Proving reluctant to do that just yet, Abel instead resumed his onward moving pace back towards the suburban terrain filled with civilian life. Children could be heard in the distance, screaming and laughing as if they were playing a game of some kind.
'It's been awhile since I got to have any fun...' So far for Abel, life as a Soldat of the Vandenreich was not cutting it for him. Or at least, the criticism from his supposed comrades made him doubt himself, second-guessing every decision and resolve of his under the scrutiny of others. It was a joke. Or rather, it should be. But as his thoughts delved deeper into frustration, something grabbed his sense. He heard footsteps coming from somewhere around him, looking around the rural streets to rest his eyes upon...

Fryst was running late, more than late, thanks to that stupid traffic jam from the road running into town. The clip clop of her heels on the pavement rattled down the sidewalk that ran along the street on the outter limit's of karakura town. Stupid Alex, she saved his life and all he did in return was make her late for her rehersal! Her regular blonde braid bounced on her shoulder as she ran, or jogged.. well pranced was more like it. Running in heels was difficult even for her, and at the end of the day she was still wearing that same stylish high dollar mid thigh pencil skirt and a fashionable and yet expensive white button up. Her crystal blue eyes looking around the basically empty street for a cab, not seeing the poor man in front of her who had just turned towards her clip clopping.
"Nyaahh!"
She let out in surprise as she would collide with the poor man. Falling back on her rump, knees pushed together she rubbed her forehead and nose which is the main part of her face that would have collided with his chest and chin, she was only five foot three inches tall after all. Thank the gods she was in her human flesh technique.. otherwise she may have slammed into him and sent him flying.. stupid cabs always driving into traffic jams. She looked up slowly to where ever the man had ended up, her voice cutely inflecting.
"I-I'm sorry sir.. you aren't hurt are you?"
Her crystal blue eyes landing to look into his intense ones.

The sudden collision of two bodies, and the pained exclamation of a lady before him were all that gained Abel's current attention as he stumbled back and barely managed to keep himself upright with hands against the pavement.
Collecting what composure he could, Abel's tense expression gradually faded, turning into something that better reflected his concern. A light smile tugged at the edge of his lips, lightly scratching the back of his head nervously. "Uh no...no, I'm not." Swiftly dusting himself off and taking a stand, Abel wasted no time in reaching outward with his hand to assist the lady in standing back up. "Apologies, I wasn't watching where I was headed..." Gazing back into her eyes, Abel felt the need to say more. Introducing himself was a start.
"My name is Abel. If you don't mind my asking...what brings you out here at the brink of nightfall?" Probably not the best means of striking up conversation, but Abel never claimed to be good at any of that. In fact, nothing was known about the other between the two. Having now taken the time to sense her presence, of course, Abel was comfortable to acknowledge that this girl was in fact human. Letting down his guard, Abel allowed the hand scratching his head to rest once more at his side, allowing his Quincy Cross to dangle and glint in the dwindling evening's sunlight.

She sighs looking over at her phone and hitting the button after he asked what she was doing out near the brink of night. Could a girl not walk around these days? she always got that line, asking what she was doing out here.. this guy was probably the fourth person that had a reiatsu that had ask- she had a sharp intake of breath for a moment.. crap he had a reiatsu.. it was quincy like Liam's but different. But she put on a brave smile, her face lighting up.
"Well I was trying to make it to a rehersal in time but.. the traffic coming into town got a little dicey. I tried to run there but ehhh that is sorta pointless since it is across town."
She sighed, well at least she had told the truth, she really had been trying to get there but it was pointless now. She couldn't use sonido to get nearer without tipping off this nice man. Even then the spiritual inhabitants of the city had always intruiged her, she had lived here for nine months and only seen a few of them more than once there were so many. She eventually took his hand and stood up dusting herself off looking around, it was getting dark, crap. she looked around and shivered a little bit.
"Guess I'll just go home or maybe for some coffee or something. Would...."
She paused for a moment hesitating, it was a little odd. It wasn't like she couldn't take care of herself, but she was a normal girl after all. Walking to somewhere on the edges of town alone.. eh made her shiver to think of the possibilities of having to kill some human male that got any perverted ideas. So she sucked it up and asked.
"This may be a little suden but would you mind walking me to a coffee shop I know nearby? Honestly I wasn't thinking and well a girl shouldn't be walking alone at night on these outskirts. You seem nice enough not to try and take advantage of the situation.. wow that came out wrong.. umm.. I'll even pay for your help?"
She internally rolled her eyes at herself, stupid shy bashful Fryst.. always making things awkward.

"Uh yeah, sure." Not very certain as to why he felt obligated to accept her invitation, Abel gestured for the girl to lead the way to the coffee shop. Obviously it wasn't the money he was interested in, but it was hard for Abel to believe he was already somehow close to her.
Realizing then that he was allowing himself to be openly sensed by reiatsu, Abel was suddenly filled with panick within, bottling up his reiatsu as best he could. Though truthfully, he knew he wasn't very good at it, or much anything else for that matter concerning the use of his reishi and reiatsu. If there were a hollow nearby, it would probably be able to find them. Looking to check for his Quincy cross, he smiled to see it residing at it's normal spot around his right wrist.
"So...what's your name?" Maybe it was a little sudden, but Abel just had to get his mind off of the subject of his uselessness. Not only that, but he was genuinely interested. Abel would have imagined most girls yelling at him and making a fuss after literally bumping into one another like that. Perhaps there was some serendipity in store for him yet?
"Not that you have to tell me, anyway. Just makes things easier...kinda." Wow, it felt really weird talking right about now. Deciding it best for him to shut up, Abel's feet waited to carry him alongside the lady until they arrived at the coffee shop. Wondering about if he was really going to consider taking her money, there was a plausible intermission that provided her ample time to give him an answer.

Fryst blinked and blushed, embarassed she hadn't thought to introduce herself before asking the stranger to walk her to the coffee shop she stuttered for a moment, her own mind turning to why he had attempted to reign in his reiatsu, perhaps he was suspicious?
"Umm F-fryst, Fryst Dronning. Sorry that was rude of me not to even introduce myself before asking this of you."
She finished talking as they arrived at the coffee shop, or rather in front of it and she smiled at the lovely aroma of the treats inside.
"Umm do you want to.. have some coffee with me while I wait on a cab to take me home? I'll buy... erm.. what was your name again I'm sorry?"
She had a small tinge of a blush on her cheeks now as it looked like she was doing something she would never normally do, but he had a pleasent aura around him. Quincy or no it was nice to have someone to talk to and not be one of those drones stuck in a phone. She motioned inside the shop with a shrug as if to express physically her question with a smile.

"No really, it's fine. I was a complete stranger up until a few moments ago." Abel chimed in after Fryst formally introduced herself, noticing that they had arrived to their destination. Being asked his name again, he was of course obliged to answer once more.
"I am Abel. Abel Delacroix." The manner in which he spoke seemed lackluster, as if there was no pride behind his words. For a pure-blooded Quincy, that was nigh unheard of. Stepping into the door, he was greeted by the pungent fragrance of freshly baked goods. Even from where he stood just inside the door, the ornate display of something so simple brought a light smile to his face. Allowing Fryst to come inside and order first, Abel would simply go for a most delicious treat and finish his order there with a black coffee.
Judging by the subtle blushing he scarcely saw upon Fryst's cheeks while entering, their "coffee stop" could potentially turn into a pleasant chat. Which for Abel, anything was better than being at the Vandenreich training area right about now, where his fellow Soldat would be trying to beat him to death while making it look like a "tragic accident". Normal life was so much more appealing than being a foot-soldier for a cause you couldn't fully believe in, or prove yourself to. "Wow...I have never been here before, it looks and smells so great. What uh...what would you recommend, Fryst?" Glancing back towards her, Abel waited for some sort of "usual" for her. It began to make him wonder more about Fryst. What sort of pastries did she like? What blend of coffee did she prefer?
It felt odd as he began to question so much about a simple stop for coffee, his light smile returning to a mildly content expression. Noticing the sun's rays gleaming in their final moments, he was sure they would have to be on their way sooner or later. Regardless, Abel made a mental note to himself to squeeze what enjoyment he could out of this time. Before long, he'd by right back in the clutches of the Vandenreich army, vying to make his own living in the competitive snake pit that was the lower echelon of Soldat.

She smiled back at him as he let her go first seeming yo have agreed to at least have some coffee on her. She gave the older lady behind the counter a cute little wave.
"Hi hi Taki-chan! I'll have my regular and ummm..."
She looked back at her new companion tilting her head and tapping her chin as she considered what she should suggest for him. Hmmm something sweet so.. ooo yes that sounded good.
"He'll have the ginger bread cappucinno!"
She gave a little giggle and opened her little clasp wallter she retrieved from her pocket and gave the appropriate yne amount with a few hundred extra for Taki holding up her hand and shaking her head to tell Taki to keep it. The older lady scowled at her but kept the money as Fryst gave another little giggle and made her way over to a small table for two by the window so she could look out.
"I hope you like sweet stuff Abel-san, because I got you the best one, it has a lot of caffine in it too soooo, sorry in advanced."
She did a little apologetic bow of her head towards the man,

There was a bit of reluctance on Abel's end, but as they seated themselves near the window he was able to distract himself momentarily from all of the pent-up social tension. He let out his breath in a low hum, being something akin to a sigh as his eyes wandered back towards Fryst when their drinks arrived.
"I can manage." Clasping his hand around the beverage, Abel wasted no time sampling the contents. As expected, the rich gingerbread flavor made it hard to notice all the caffeine. Yet, after downing a third of the contents he could tell it would be best to stop before entering cardiac arrest.
"Thanks, by the way." His hands clasped together like some sort of nervous quirk. "It's nice to meet someone who I can just..." Abel's hands now gestured in-between his and Fryst's drinks. "Sit down and have a cup of coffee with. You'd be surprised how hard it is for me to find people like that." Then again as Abel thought of it, Fryst would also be surprised to find out what exactly he was...
"A soldier of God."
Who would even believe of such a thing? Certainly not Abel.
Fryst sighed, she knew why he was saying that. She did have an idea, the second someone found out what she was they always acted fearful, especially as powerful as she was. She was the strongest Arrancar she knew about still living. There had been Stark-kun but he died in Aizen's stupid frivolous war. So she took a sip of her drink smiling at it's taste she said it almost non chalantly, a little cute bounce in her voice.
"Ya I know, you Quincy's have a real tough time making friends..."
She let that just sit there for a moment to see what he would say, she wouldn't tell him what she was, not yet anyways. She could hide it just as easily as she needed to after all, just pose as a spiritually gifted human. After a moment she gave a little innocent giggle.
"I didn't want you to think I was outright lying to you or something but I could tell ya know? You don't have to be scared or anything.. I'm a nice girl after all.. or I like to think I am.."
She shrugged while looking at him with her bright crystal blue eyes, slurping from her straw for a moment.
"Really I can just see and sense ghosts and things.. sorta. Lets just leave it at that for now okay?"

The delicate nature behind Fryst's eyes and voice spoke volumes to him, but in Abel's mind there was turmoil. Every instinct Abel was enduring betrayed any sense of trusting her, and it caused his expression to grow flat. Yet inside, the gears of his brain were churning...
'She "likes to think of herself as a nice girl"?' What was that about? More over, how did she know exactly what he was... 'It must have been when we were outside and I let my reiatsu spill out on purpose...son of a...'"So..." Abel maintained eye contact with Fryst, mostly due to his growing paranoia. Being a Quincy wasn't exactly all that much of a blessing as it was a burden.
Not to mention plenty of spiritual races out there enjoyed fighting. After all, of what good use would their power be in the first place if they had never thought to use them? None, and that is exactly why they all used their powers. Even the Quincy could not absolve themselves from as much...
"You've met a Quincy before, I take it?" His attention seemed to devote itself to the conversation at hand, beginning to let go of his pessimistic attitude and embrace the opportunity presented to him. "How did that turn out?"
She smiled at him, his reaction was not what she was expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise. At least he was nice about it and curious. She gave him another smile and nodded.
"I have, and it went very well. Given his short fallings of being a pervert Liam-kun is nice, if not a little unorthodox. I would count him among my friends without a doubt hehe."
She watched her companions face closely for reactions to her giggles and words, she was enjoying herself. She liked meeting new people and whatnot, they just normally didn't like her. Or rather what she was, given her overwhelming strength they tended to side with fear more than anything else, she still remembered how raidens face looked when he attacked her friend and she had to hurt him. The things she had done to him were in sufferable, but she, at that time, had lost control of her emotions, froze a city block solid, ripped off his arm and fed it to her hollow protector.. ya she shouldn't revisit those memories. She was not proud of them and niether was that her personality.
"You guys should really get out more, I think you are really cool, the items you make and the bows and everything, they are pretty."
She smiled at him hoping her honest compliments hit their mark.

Fryst surely knew how to delicately phrase herself, and that was admirable. Complimenting his race was a better decision to make than shedding further light on just how "bad at making friends" they really are. In truth, they were out to make enemies. "The enemies of God", as the Vandenreich would dis-allude a young earnest Quincy into believing...
"A pervert named Liam, huh?" Apparently she may have been fond of that, though perhaps this other Quincy was an actual charmer? Abel smiled at the thought of seeing another Quincy use a bow, though not in the same sense as Fryst smiled about their being "pretty".
"Never heard of him. I don't use a bow, either. That's not how I was raised, anyway." Of course, Abel was not like many other Quincy to begin with. That wasn't to say it was a good thing, however... "Did he happen to be a part of the Vandenreich?" Asking no more than that, Abel resumed his silence while drinking away at the gingerbread cappuccino, mauling over his available options.
Perhaps neither of them knew what the Vandenreich was? The order is in-hiding after all, within the shadow of their oldest enemy. It wouldn't be very unlikely, but in any event he assumed Fryst would have some sort of clue what he was talking about. If not, he'd just need to sit tight and say no more of it. Giving their position away wasn't a task for some pure-blooded soldat who was already in question for being too weak to be of use to their cause.
But what about his own? What was Abel's cause? The sad part was, he really didn't know. He was waiting on a God...
She giggled, at his repeating of her name for Liam, he was a pervert always hitting on her and whatnot, so lude. But at his heart he was a good guy and she respected that, it allowed her to see a different side of him than just the side that she had to slap into the dirt a few times. She was surprised to hear he didn't use a bow though, was that even possible? Was he even a quincy then? Apparently so.
"The Vanderwhata? I don't know.. I never thought to ask him about if he belonged to the..whatever you called it.. is it like some cool club for just you quincies?"
She blinked at him curiously. She was honestly wondering what that was now, was it some sorta like quincy royal family? Maybe like a shinigami haters club? Or maybe they just stuck together as a group like the shinigami did because there wen't that many.. the quincy not the shinigami. Hmmm soo many questions, yet she didn't wanna be rude or prying at the same time. Her face however spelled her excitment and curiousity all over it.

"Never mind that." His sudden change of tone sternly indicated it was of no interest to him to speak further of the Vandenreich. She didn't get the name right the first time, which was good. She probably wouldn't remember, or at least Abel had hoped so...
"You just wouldn't understand, and that's all there is to say about it. Really." Of course, that wasn't the whole truth. She seemed pretty kindred up to this point, and wasn't showing many signs of that changing anytime soon. Yet his eyes went dull, and looked forward as if simply spacing out. Fryst was one of the first people Abel encountered that knew about him without being like him.
And seeing as Fryst did not want him to know more about her spiritual nature, this moment wasn't exactly something that sat well with him. "Anyways...it's weird that you invited me out for some coffee after already knowing that...don't you think?" Realistically, the idea didn't seem all that strange to him. Save for the fact she was also spiritually aware, and apparently proficient enough to completely avoid his detection. Abel could not pick up even the most subtle trace of reiatsu emitting from Fryst, deciding now to flare his own in hopes of changing that. Yet his effort was in vain...
"It also doesn't seem very fair that you know what I am without telling me much about yourself. You sure you don't have any kind of powers?"'It would explain why I can't really sense her, but...' Abel could always sense a spiritual presence, even if that much more faint than his own. It didn't seem right, and the way she wanted to keep quiet made it make all the more sense to him.
'She might be holding something back from me. Not cool.'
She sighed as he seemed to get serious and shut down her questions. She puffed out her cheeks in a cute show of annoyance. She would totally understand if he took the time to explain it to her! She wasn't some idiot! Furrowing her brow, then he started talking about how it was wierd how she invited him out to coffee knowing what he was, and he seemed to be getting suspicious which made her feel really bad and guilty. His last words made her feel like she had trapped him into this knowing what he was and she frowned. She sighed speaking,
"They aren't powers they are a curse really, no one who learns about them ever wants to stay close to me. So I don't have any powers no... I have this stupid curse on me... but if you really want to see them I guess it's not fair that I know about you, and you don't know about me..."
She looked up at him sadly now, having thought about it, she had been manipulating him a little bit and the more she realized this the worse she felt. Frowning some more she sighed.
"How about this, we'll go for a walk and I'll show at the park across the street okay, Taki-chan would have heart attack if something happened in here okay.. and .. and you might not like me afterwards. But if I show you this you have to tell me what the Vandersomethings is okay?"
She looked up at him pleading hoping he would say it wasn't necessary. This was the last thing she wanted to happen, her and her stupid mouth always getting her in trouble.

Further down the rabbit hole they went. Fryst was indeed exceeding his expectations, but Abel was never able to be so sure what with her unique..."disguise", was it? It didn't really seem like one, but apparently she could hide her spiritual signature...and she did have some form of power, even going as far as to consider it a sort of curse.
It was sad, really, because sometimes Abel felt the same about his own powers as a Quincy. The innate "ability" to completely destroy a soul from existence. Why mortal man would be given responsibility over such power was beyond what Abel could fathom. Yet it was real. Not even Fryst could deny that, no matter what curse she had of her own. "I accept." Calmly taking a stand, Abel awaited Fryst to make sure she made good on her word. Though it was odd how she mentioned he may not like her afterwards.
It got him thinking...
'Maybe she gets really ugly, or something?' It was hard to imagine what a girl like her meant by saying such a thing when it came to a form of power. It gave him a subtle sense of unease, but that wasn't going to stop Abel from following.
"Let's get going then, shall we?" Abel was already headed for the door by the time he could finish the question given. Perhaps he was starting to grow fond of Fryst? ...Too fond?
She stood up taking her cup with her smiling at Taki-chan and giving a little wave, the poor old woman giving fryst the thumbs up since this was the first guy she had even seen fryst with. Fryst blushed and just shook her head with a little giggle as they walked out, leading the way towards the park. She walked a little ways into it and gave him a smile.
"Okay Abel-san, here goes you might wanna.. take a few steps back though.."
She took a deep breath, this was gonna be bad since she hadn't unleashed her power in a long time. She frowned rolling her head for a moment and then her skin, her very skin began to dissapate. It began turning into hundreds, no thousands of snow flakes floating off of her body, beneath it revealing.. nothing but more skin, the only changes seeming to be her clothing, an elegant blue dress with a sheer cape coming off of it, a bone tiara all that was left of her mask would appear just in the front of her hairline. The most noticable change would be her hollow hole, about the size of a baseball, above her navel but below her breasts, centered.
She would turn to face him with a look for a moment mouthing something.
"I'm sorry"
Just then as the last of the snowflakes left her body a massive force flowed out from her sending out a shockwave of power. Her reiatsu flooded the area, everything below her feet and in the area of the park in a fifty meter radius around her frosted over. It sat there for a good long moment as she decided what to do. After that moment was up she took a deep breath condensing her massive reiatsu back onto herself and about a foot area around her. Leaving the ground around them frosted heavily. Her voice was hopeful and cheery.

Following Fryst outside, there was plenty of hyped up expectations brewing within. Doing his best to keep them pent up, Abel observed further as Fryst began to utilize her "power". Her skin now dissolving from sight, she looked back over to Abel and looked toward him as if she were being apologetic about something. 'What is she doing that fo-'
Gravity.
Would Abel have been able to speak at this point, he probably would've said something along the lines of "You trying to kill me or something?!" But instead, he felt his body being slammed by an immense pressure that suddenly began overwhelming the area. It was...Fryst's reiatsu?
'Damnit.' He let his guard down, and now Abel was paying for it. The reiatsu was so dense that his limbs now gave out, Abel flat against the ground on his stomach as he tried to keep his head up. This only hindered him further, the reiatsu daring to asphyxiate him as he struggled to speak further.
"I..can't...bre-" It was at this point that Abel gave up, his reiatsu beginning to dwindle under the immense pressure of her own. Not only that, but Hollow reiatsu was capable of killing Quincy. He could feel it. Awful was putting it lightly...though it seemed that her reiatsu began reeling back in. Perhaps she wasn't going to hurt him, then?
Even still, however, Abel yearned for the chance to get away from her, even though as he gazed over towards Fryst from the ground, he was tantalized by her beauty. Even as the frost covered the surrounding area, as well as himself, the ornate fabric adorned on her body could be enjoyed even from his sprawled position on the ground.
And while he could certainly relate to why someone wouldn't want to be around Fryst when she uses her power due to it's innate effect, he still found himself captured by the moment. Or at least, the state of shock her reiatsu put him in seemed to keep him there, simply gazing towards Fryst as her frost thawed.
"Please remind me...to never...do that again."'To think that I just almost died...I suppose I should be glad we're apparently becoming friends. Even if she is an Arrancar.' Abel thought to himself, waiting another moment before trying to move on his own. The reiatsu had worn him down. Even existing in her presence was a struggle, it seemed. He'd wait for Fryst's power to subside...and then he could worry about the fact that Fryst was the most powerful Arrancar, or even spiritual being that he has ever yet faced.
Fryst sighed as she had accidentally knocked him to the ground, like flat on the ground do to her un relented outburst of power. She sighed and hoped he never had to see her when she was serious or fighting, her ressurection could potentially kill him or worse. She sighed and sucked it in just a little bit more and used sonido, disappearing in a buzz of static she reappeared kneeling down next to him, waving her hand and all the ice around them disappeared into the air. She offered him a hand to help him up, now that he knew there was no point in hiding what she was hence the Sonido. She was masterful in its execution after all and it was one of the few things about her powers that she enjoys.
She nervously began playing with her braid now looking at him apologetically.
"I'm so sorry Abel-san.. I tried to warn you but... ugh I'm just sorry this stupid strength of mine. I hate showing people it because of that."
Opposed to the very very cold air around them changed by her reiatsu her touch would feel warm to him. She gave a little innocent giggle.
"But I meant you no harm.. I promise, that just sorta happens when I release my powers you know? It's well lets just say this isn't my final form and leave it at that?"
She nodded to him plopping down next to him.
"So tell me all about this vanderwhatchamacallit."
