PERSONALITY
The name Hisaya Aozaki is known throughout not just Naruki City, not just Japan, but the world at large. A tall, imposing woman whose brilliance is exuded with each action. Each movement, each word, each finger twitch is calculated and processed within Hisaya’s brain, practically being the embodiment of “think before acting.” As a businesswoman, Hisaya is cold, analytical, the very model of the Aozaki family lineage. Being a “woman in a man’s world” has sharpened her instincts and toughened her to make her an effective “Ice Queen” to any that wish to stand against her. Respect was fiercely earned and well deserved around her, rumors circulating that those who disrespect her even a modicum will find themselves penniless on the streets begging for money. Hisaya is not perfect, however, and much of the image she has garnered comes along with the lifestyle garnered from the Japanese workforce. Hisaya becomes a much different person when not in the workplace, even when discussing things alongside business associates she might have just engaged in a series of meetings with.
Hisaya is respectful to a fault, but kind hearted and keeps the best interests of her people in mind. No expense is too great to keep each worker under her command happy, and frequently she will take her subordinates out for drinks after each work day. Many might think that from her cold exterior it would be suicide to ask for a raise from the Aozaki head, but this is false. She is happy to give out raises to those she feels have been performing their utmost, though isn’t afraid to dock pay harshly should someone be underperforming of their own volition. She walks softly and carries a big stick, promoting success and a strong work ethic. Though she respects her rivals, she makes it clear that the Aozaki Corporation will lead not just Japan, but the world in technological marvels and scientific pursuits. One important question always comes up among the citizens of Naruki City… Just what does the Aozaki Corporation do? On the outside, the corporation has two branches. One deals with research and manufacturing of a variety of inventions Hisaya or her team comes up with, and the other deals with the marketing aspects. …But this is all just a façade.
Truthfully, the Aozaki Corporation has a much more sinister purpose lying down below the surface… literally! An entire headquarters is kept underground the Aozaki Corporation’s HQ, where a team of different scientists, soldiers, etc. conduct daily activities involving the spiritual world. At the helm is the ruthless, sarcastic, easily excitable Hisaya. Hisaya leads a hypocritical existence: while many might see her as a misanthrope, having given up on humanity at large, Hisaya puts a huge chunk of time and effort into improving technology and science for the world around her. Unlike her family’s initial values, which were to start the underground Aozaki Corporation as a security force against Hollowkind, Hisaya has twisted the organization far away from its initial premise in line with her personality. Most experiements are conducted by Hisaya herself, as she captures Hollow and Hollowkind from different places around the world to experiment upon them. Nobody is safe from Hisaya’s wandering grasp, as even Fullbringers have been captured due to the Hollow reiatsu sensed within them. Hisaya is a Titan, and the Aozaki Corporation is her iron fists.
Though Hisaya claims to not conduct her work due to a sense of morality, certain lines will not be crossed. Well aware of the spiritual balance due to various dealings with Shinigami around the world, Hisaya released the Hollow she had captured in the past for Shinigami to purify and would stay her hand from capturing Shinigami unless they turned out to be rogue upon which they would disappear without a trace. Now that Hisaya has become a Substitute-Shinigami, however, she is a lot wilder in her kidnappings and purifies the Hollow herself, having even captured Quincy in the past or been delivered them as prisoners due to their habit of upsetting the balance. Hisaya’s true lack of morals resides in the fact that she has captured children and seemingly innocent Arrancar in the past. No price is too great, she claims, although things have definitely taken a toll on her psyche. She sacrifices most of her sanity for the ultimate goal, which is to improve humanity with the hopes of saving it from itself.
She knows this is not an achievable possibility currently, due to concepts such as politics and religion stifling any creativity, but plans to make the Aozaki Corporation so big that she is able to use her immense amount of power to force people to listen. All things come to those who wait, however, and Hisaya has been waiting for many, many years. Her obsession with all aspects of technology, science, and even some medical pursuits primarily revolve around Hollow and Hollowkind, finding an existence that “shouldn’t be” absolutely marvelous and wanting to know everything about them. Hisaya is an oddity as a member of the Gotei 13, though such an oddity is only permitted due to the mad scientist tendencies of one Mayuri Kurotsuchi. The Aozaki has had agreements with the Soul Society since Hisaya’s ancestor founded the corporation many, many years ago, though it took a nice silver tongue to be able to convince the militaristic Shinigami to comply with her activities. Essentially it came down to this: If they wished for her to be a part of the Crisis Core project, they would need to turn a blind eye to her activities.
While this wasn’t entirely agreed upon, Hisaya was happy enough to reach a compromise. Some more common, somewhat comical, ordinary traits revolving around Hisaya are her Sapiosexuality – a sexual attraction to intelligence, along with collecting various stuffed animals she stitched herself. Hisaya enjoys music, taking long drives around the city, visiting amusement parks and a slew of other, common things most humans enjoy… Because, at the end of the day, Hisaya Aozaki might seem like a monster to many but she is still a human. Retaining her humanity is a big deal to the woman, which is why she refuses to allow herself to fall to the level of a beast and has forced her vice-president to make an agreement with her: If she were to ever fall too far, he is to kill her no matter what the cost may be.
HISTORY
Shuu Aozaki. The first in the ancient Aozaki line. Spiritually aware from the day he was born, Shuu had a dream when founding the Aozaki Corporation: He wished to protect the rest of the world from these dark abominations called Hollow, whom had taken his parents after he was but thirteen years old. Many allies were gained over time, alongside other members of the family who were spiritually aware and agreed with this plan. As time passed, the Aozaki Corporation flourished and would be the silent protectors of Naruki City from the Hollow they came across. Alongside these desires was a desire to be a successful company, which is why Hisaya’s father, Kyousuke, came up with the idea to separate the corporation into two divisions. The Corporation gained a positive reputation across the world for the absolute genius that lied within Kyousuke Aozaki’s brain, which was successfully passed onto his daughter when she was born. Instead of going to public school, Hisaya was home tutored by the best tutors money could buy and even then her scientific mind was stifled. Soon Hisaya began becoming a transfer student to various other countries, learning many languages and returning home with more knowledge she thought she would ever acquire.
As Kyousuke grew older, Hisaya grew smarter. Her mother died very early in her life, leaving a hole that was forced to be filled by her rather abusive aunt. What her aunt did not realize was that Kyousuke wasn’t the only one who had connections. Soon her aunt “disappeared”, found dead only many months later with the one responsible being caught and sent to prison. No one ever knew who hired the hitman, though there were suspicions from Kyousuke that his own daughter had done so. Noticing these suspicions, the ever ambitious Hisaya turned her attention toward her father. She felt he had grown soft and did not truly recognize the potential the Aozaki Corporation had. In her early teen years, Hisaya made sure to push Kyousuke as much as possible into advancing the Corporation’s size and pretty soon the Corporation had gained one of the largest popularities in any company in the world. It was a behemoth of a company, with the feeble and elderly Kyousuke at the helm… This had to change.
And it did. As Hisaya neared her twenties, she began educating herself on the various spiritual races they had records on and the relationship the Aozaki Corporation had with the Soul Society. Being elderly, Kyousuke was deemed mentally unfit to continue his duties by his daughter and forced into retirement, leaving Kyousuke’s “heir” at the helm. Factoring out a month’s time to deal with her father’s funeral preparations as he passed on, along with getting herself in a better mental state, when Hisaya returned many claimed her to be a changed woman. She was stronger, quieter, and much more respectful. She negotiated deals her father never could have thought to negotiate, and the relationship between the Aozaki Corporation and the other large companies of the world was improved substantially. However, with these positive improvements came sinister changes to the underground aspect of the Corporation. The Aozaki Corporation soon shifted from their more moralistic ways to the “greater good”, finding the needs of the many greater than the needs of the few.
This caused a large blanket of concern to cover many employees, and one of Hisaya’s first examples of power came in an event known in Naruki City as the Great Exile. A record one hundred and seventy-eight employees of the Corporation were fired in the blink of an eye, Hisaya claiming publically that they had failed to perform their duties and were being replaced by far more competent people. Each person under Hisaya’s control now agreed wholeheartedly with Hisaya’s new vision, giving her a much larger range of control. The experiments conducted by Hisaya’s Corporation were heinous, made some stomachs turn and some people retire due to the sheer mental shock, but Hisaya soldiered on. Members of the Aozaki family came to oppose her, but each one found themselves suffering the same fate as her aunt. None would stand in the way of Hisaya’s ambition… Then, as Hisaya began to reach her early thirties, fate came a’calling…
Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Captain of the Twelfth Division of the Soul Society noticed Hisaya’s prowess and sent some of his Shinigami to fetch her. Accepting, alongside two of her bodyguards, Hisaya was led into a mutual meeting place in the Human World where she and the group were attacked by a multitude of Hollow. Each Hollow was destroyed through Hisaya’s extravagant show of power, showcasing that she was not a human to be trifled with in more than one regard. The representative Shinigami applauded her skill, claiming the Hollow were intentionally used as a way to gauge Hisaya’s skill. The Shinigami soon led her to the Soul Society, though the trip unfortunately killed her two bodyguards. Oh well, necessary casualties. Her talks with Kurotsuchi went on for many, many hours, two highly intelligent individuals engaged in what they considered a battle of wits. Hisaya came out of the talks feeling as she had lost, and agreed to the project. In exchange for her services, the Soul Society would turn a blind eye to her actions so long as the knowledge gained was shared with the Twelfth Division solely, rather than the Gotei 13 at large.
Accepting, providing she was allowed access to some of the Twelfth Division’s records, Hisaya underwent the rather painful process. Through sheer force of will and indomitable courage, Hisaya came out of the process a full-fledged Substitute Shinigami. Accepting her badge and orders handed down to her from her Captain, Hisaya went back to the human world and began to train herself in a section of the underground Corporation constructed solely for this purpose. Pretty soon she was able to gain a Shikai, an impressive feat granted to the woman whose acquirement did not impress nor surprise the Twelfth Captain. After all, he had picked her up for a reason. Now, in her late thirties, Hisaya has mastered the abilities laid out to her as well as gained a rather dominating personality over her Zanpakutou spirit, claiming that there are none above nor beneath her for only those that walked the same ground as her deserved recognition…
As our story continues, what fate will befall the Aozaki Corporation and its steel Corporate Executive Officer?
