Okay, so...
What it says on the tin. This board isn't used enough and I feel like, after having seen a few people mention things that "should" happen or complain about some small things (which isn't a bad thing, don't misunderstand!), this kind of topic would help staff keep an eye on some things that might need to change or some members' concerns. Helps to keep things organized and the public's interests in mind, y'know?
Bear in mind that this topic is NOT FOR GIANT CHANGES OR DISCUSSIONS THAT WILL TAKE UP PAGES. The only purpose is to toss out small things that you feel need to happen or little things that might be bugging you. Little is subjective, but as long as it's not something as huge as "THE ENTIRE ___ GUIDE NEEDS TO BE REVAMPED" it should be fine. Think small things like "Hey __ isn't clarified could you toss this in one of the guides" and whatnot.
Most importantly of all, KEEP THINGS CIVIL. We're adults and we should be able to act like adults. A huge point of this thread is to cut down a shit ton of Feedback Board threads in the future over small matters while also taking the first plunge to get others to reply to it. Let's not derail it by starting fights or having snippy attitudes. I implore staff to delete any responses they see as nonconstructive, especially ones that try to bash staff because this is NOT the place to do it. Constructive criticism or no criticism at all.
I also implore you guys to keep any personal attacks out of things, especially on individual staff members. The members are just as much a team as the staff are, so let's keep that team mentality instead of tossing blame. Remember, the importance here is to find solutions, not start more problems. I'll be sure to edit this top post accordingly with the different concerns you all have as well as tagging the account you post in here with so people know who brought up the concern. Might as well give credit where credit is due, right? Let's try to avoid repeat concerns as well. Only need to mention something once to get it's attention, yes? I'll also be removing things as staff fix them!
I'll start with a small one. Let's get the ball rolling people!
- 1. The Face Claim List needs to be updated. (Courtesy of Mariana Castilla) (Status: Acknowledged!)
- 2. A section of the Profile Templates should be made for character themes. (Courtesy of BM) (Status: Acknowledged!)
- 3. Clarification on the durability and sharpness of a Seele Schneider in the Quincy guide. (Courtesy of Liam O'Brian) (Status: Acknowledged!)
- 4. Clarification on why the first post for profiles is locked. (Courtesy of Liam O'Brian) (Status: Acknowledged!)
- 5. Suggestion to move the "difficulty" and "face claim" portions of a profile to the second post. (Courtesy of Liam O'Brian) (Status: Acknowledged!)

I do believe BM told me to mention something about adding a spot for theme music in the character applications.

Just two little things I would like to ask.
First off, the Quincy item guide does not tell me the durability and sharpness of a Seele Schneider. Is it the same as a sealed Zan? Shikai? What happens when they clash? Am I able to just run around shouting "LULZ CHAINSAW!!" and hack up everything I see?
The second thing is in regards to profiles. While I do understand the second post being locked. I am curious as to why the first one is. I am the kind of person who is forever making small tweaks to my character's personalities as they progress as well as occasionally adding in small snippets to their history. So I'd rather not have to bother a mod when I want to make a minor change to my character's way of thinking.
I get the difficulty and face claim is located at the bottom of the first post, but would it be too much of a bother to move it down to the second one?

Update From ModsOn face claim list, we are aware of this and its on the to-do list for the mods, along with census, who plays who etc.... [UPDATE] The plan is too clean these during the December checks. After talking to Kaz, it appears that there is a guide for mini-profile music themes in the Rules Section. For Seele Schneider, the general understanding is that it is itself considered a level of sharpness, being probably the highest level attainable due to chainsaw-like blade that cannot be emulated without an actual Seele made by a quincy. In terms of durability it would be comparable to your spirit weapon. On profiles being locked, we understand that in some ways it can be inconvenient, but you have to understand the the profile archive is like the site hard copy of your profile, and if it were unlocked not only would you be able to edit it, but ANYONE with an account would be able to as well. Imagine if you will someone disgruntled or even a troll randomly stumbling upon the site and realizing this fact. Potentially all the profiles could have their first post completely removed with no way to retrieve it outside of member backups which is its own can of worms. Our recommendation for this would be the following: 1. If you don't already, PM a mod and ask for a copy of your profile. 2. Make a "faux" version in either character lists or art corner section. This can then be edited any time you want and even linked in your signature. 3. Whenever you made a decent number or 1-2 substantial changes, put up for a profile modification. On difficulty and face-claims, it was my understanding that this was connected to the above question.

I'm not sure how the whole "automated post" system works, but as best I can tell it is giving points for the posts made, but not for the weekly post goals.
Are we supposed to post requests for those, the same way we would plot bonuses?

Here gooooes
1) Whilst important, atm I'm only answering the tech/cody related questions in this thread since that's my job
2) If this is for music themes, you can put a single character music theme in the mini profile (no, I won't add more). As for adding youtube links and stuff in the profile, this would likely be in the first post, but it's totally possible! I'llthinkaboutit. I just don't really want to edit the templates again
3) See 1)
4) Pretty much what BM said, but I'd like to add that you can only lock threads, you can't lock posts. In order to make it so that the first post is accessible and the second one isn't, the second post would have to be created by another member (likely a staffer). In order to do THAT, well I got no clue.
5) I'm not sure why this is necessary TBH. The appearance for which the face claim is used is all detailed in the first post, and the difficulty was meant to be easily editable as well. Both are easier to edit from the (usually smaller) first post so I'd like a more practical reason for changing it than simple preference.
THE AUTOMATED POST SYSTEMOkay, this thing can be finicky. Please make sure you have the below list done before asking about whether it doesn't work.
1) The week long period is NOT from a specific day - it is from the day you make the first post.
2) A period of seven days MUST pass before plot points are received - you will not receive them if you made 10 posts in 3 days.
3) You will only receive ONE PP bonus - If you make 20 posts in 7 days, you will not receive the one for 10 posts as well.
Example:
Wednesday: Make 3 posts Thursday: -- Friday: Make 2 posts. Saturday: Make 4 posts. (total 9 at this point) Sunday: -- Monday -- Tuesday: -- Wednesday -- Thursday: Make 4 posts. (total of 10 counting from the previous Friday) Friday: Receive 10 post bonus counting from the previous Friday. It would only count the 4 posts you made on that day, not the 9 altogether at that point.
If however, you have posted at least 10 posts within 7 days and have waited 7 days since the first of those ten posts and you still haven't received your points, please let me know so I might be able to fix it.

I distinctly remember making 20 posts between 11/15 and 11/22. You can check the post logs for me if you want. It's been roughly 3 days since the period ended, and I still haven't gotten anything.
If it's a problem with the system itself, that's perfectly fine with me. I don't even mind so much if I miss out on my points. I just want to make sure this isn't a persistent issue others will have to deal with as well.
