How long had the time's clock ticked since Theocelese came back to this site? Every swing of the pendulum counted as months, but for the Arrancar, it felt like years since he lost one of the last two links which bound him to this world. And now, the other was severed. Despite the hundreds of years it took for his kind to rise to dominance, it only took him a handful of months. Funny how time was ironic in such ways, both his mortal parents and child outlived him. Now both were gone, and in his hands he held the remaining ashes of his mother and father. He wanted them, the three of of them to be together, and at the location of his former home and business, a memorial was erected for the lives lost. Such a low time for him to be at, when Theocelese tried to be someone and something he was not. That night, hundreds perished...and he did nothing to prevent such a massive loss of life. No longer. Before he would set out to the Soul Society, Theocelese chose to sever his ties to those who would rather set him on a path of dishonor.
The man knelt down, placing the hybrid urn into the small hole in the ground. From the mix of ashes and potted soil, a rose plant would bloom and it would be tended to daily. Theocelese saw to that, and now able to don the guise of the only two other spiritual types worth donning, business was easy to see to in the human world. Money held no end for whatever project he chose to see funded. The memorial came from his coffers, which admittedly, came from the purging of street gangs. Not just in this country, but many others. Even in a faux body, mortal weapons used against him were merely snickered at.
In silence, he buried the urn and looked to the marble statue, polished and glistening from the setting sun's light. From a pocket, Theocelese withdrew a cigarette, lit it, and stood to his feet. A swelling desire to break his kin and lose himself a bottle both hit hard, and more than likely, he would do both with no idea in which order they would be done. It wouldn't be the first time he went on a drunken rampage, and these days, it certainly wouldn't be the last.
theres so much shit i woulda had to post here but he's wearing the chameleon shigai and has all standard gear, including alliance issue stuff ill get into more detail next post =P image is what his shigai looks like
Gage waited patiently, not hiding his presence but not being overwhelmingly obvious about it either. He, just as much as Theo, knew the importance of letting someone find their peace. Perhaps this was not the time or the place for such conversations but times were dire and his own options were running slim leaving him in a tight spot. Soul Society would never approve his actions on the off chance that the repercussions were greater in threat than the Quincy that he sought to end. Blood shed was inevitable, the loss of life being something that he has nearly become used to, his own reactions to it being jaded and uncaring. Hopefully Theo would be able to help him find a place for the pent up rage and hatred, a project that would not only turn the tide but make humans invaluable to the success of Soul Societies survival.
"Theo." It was a small hello but in it he was sharing himself, his own loss making him relate with the Hollow. "I know this isn't a great time but I need your help." He was speaking of the resources that Hueco Mundo could provide for his project. Las Noches was the only place, aside from Soul Society, that would allow him the chance to perfect this and he had only one chance.
An idle drag off of his cigarette came as he sensed the strong presence approach. At first, Theocelese had thought it another attack--but two things prevented the man from lashing out. The cretins scattered amongst the Menos Forest would need decades to become this powerful, and if they did make their feeble attacks, it was always in stealth and from the shadows. The cigarette helped to keep his nerves calm, and rather than grow curious as to who this person was, Theocelese instead began to ponder on how this other man knew who he was. For all intents and purposes, the truth of what he became should have not been recognized. There were few and far between who knew the faux body he possessed. Was it Seran? It could have been the only one, as far as Theocelese knew, his crafty friend still lived mostly within Las Noches. The man's arm lowered, and his thumb flicked the cigarette. Ashes fell to the grass below, turning almost invisible with the aid of the nightly state of the town.
Two options came to his mind, and it appeared at first that Theocelese hadn't either heard Gage, or decided to disregard acknowledging the man. He dwelt on what he could do. To instantly give into the subject at hand was one thing, but not knowing who had such valuable information on him superseded aiding anyone.
"You are mistaken." The man spoke in a heavily accented Japanese, clearly, he was not from this country. "I am not the aforementioned person, young man. Who told you such things?" His arm rose again, and in one deep pull from the cigarette, Theocelese nearly finished the stick. Still, Theocelese kept his back to the person who so abruptly approached him.
"Theocelese. Please, I am not here to waste your time. I would know your energy from a mile away. You have invited me here before at the request of Seran. Its me, Gage. I was going to work with you on your 'seed' project. We had several others present consulting on the project. I went into the Quarts Forest to find materials for you." Gage couldn't help but recognize the energy. It was subdued but in a similar fashion to that of a rushing river is held back by a dam. At a moments call he could bring forth more energy than any other he had yet to face. Pulling out a small metal box from his pocket he holds it in one hand, its contents more valuable than anything likely here in all of Las Noches. His stomach turns from anxiety, it was not that Theo had ever shown himself to be rash but there was only one other being in many realms that knew about this item.
"I need access to your research facilities. Free of your Arrancar for some time. I can help turn the tide on the Quincy invasions but I need solitude and equipment. Things that the human realm does not have and Soul Society would never allow." He was grasping at straws, reaching for a hope that maybe Theocelese's anger towards the Quincy for invading his realm would influence him enough to allow Gage this respite.
There was another stretch of pregnant silence, though it could be interpreted as the man trying to be more of a mystic than anything else, had Gage seen the Arrancar's facial expression sans mask and well..his actual face, doubt and perhaps a small trace of hysteria sung loudly through his eyes. He remembered bits of that, snippets here and there of events that did come to pass, but it was cloudy and muddled. Theocelese's eyes moved from left to right, a hand rose to scratch at the top of his head to get at an itch clawing at the meat of his mind. Gage, yes, that name was familiar, but he couldn't put the exact face to the name. Had the re-opened wounds of his past ruined his psyche more than originally thought? The final drag was taken, yet he kept the smoldering and stinking filter in between his gloved hands.
His original supposition was correct. Seran definitely had divulged something, and although he heard the human's words, Theocelese remained silent for just a few moments longer. With a deep inhale of fresh air, he finally turned. The original emotions were culled, leaving nothing to be picked up in his eyes. Those same eyes immediately went to the box held. Just then, it was as if the words finally sunk in. The clean-shaven face contorted slightly, his lips curling back slightly and brows narrowing deeply. It did not take an overly keen mind to realize the mere mention of the Quincy won Theocelese over, for the time being at least. One did not make such a powerful expression, even as brief as it was made, without showcasing loss.
"I rebelled to garner things that escape my comprehension. A brilliant, but twisted mind was eradicated, and in that purging much knowledge was lost as well. Seran has made wonderful use of our facilities, but he is secluded as of late." Finally, Theocelese's eyes locked onto Gage's, almost forcing contact to be made. "I will allow you access to what you need..." The words tapered off, and Gage would have been an idiot to not expect a continuation. "...However...I must know what you are making, what you need and an understanding that you will not be alone, but you will remain undisturbed. I will be with you."
His hand rose, and gently tapped the empty air to render it a wound in reality. "Come, we will discuss all of this over a meal."
The Garganta, as it almost always did, would lead the duo to his diner. Had Gage remembered anything about Theocelese, whether from experience, through Seran or simple observation...it was that his sense of tradition was absolute, and as a host, would not accept any form of 'no' to hospitality. Then again, Gage could profusely decline and risk being shut down completely.
Gage watched in silence as Theo seemed to question if he could remember him. His stance was casual but still, Gage could not let his guard down yet. If this man decided to he could have his head on a spear if he was not warry. Though he came here out of desperation he had known from the beginning that the enemy of his enemy could be his friend. However in this situation it would be a tentative coexistence, his own nerves making the hairs on his arms stand on end. He wanted... no he needed this to work. He was desperate and that makes him irrational sometimes.
Finally he spoke, the silence broken by odd speech and an even odder message. Theo had lost a portion of his memories? But he remembered Seran at the least, meaning that he had some kind of connection to get his work done. Then Theo said it. He was granting his permission, the labs and research facility being open for him to labor in. He felt his stomach do a flip as the prospect of getting this work done seemed to be closer than it has been in a year. Another break of silence as he seemed to be mid thought.
"ahh..." Gage trails off before the an speaks again. Speaking of how he would be alone save for Theo's presence did not bother him. If anything it would be useful to have someone around if things go sour during the actual execution of the ritual and it serves even better that it would be someone possibly strong enough to intervene should the time come. But first food. Gage was not exactly hungry, his mind distracted by the possibilities now at hand. He had so much work to do but a meal couldn't hurt. He had eaten over four hours ago so something in his belly would do him some good. "Lead the way." Gage had to collect his thoughts. There was a lot of work to be done and he was going to have to explain it for the most part to Theo in his own restaurant, the food being a bit of a mystery. Hopefully not too spicy though.
"Please seat yourself, help yourself to whatever drinks you wish. The bar is past those saloon doors."
That was all the Arrancar said before disappearing into the back. The sounds of kitchenware being readied and the smell of the stove would stand out first. Theocelese did not know Gage at all, though if there was one thing he knew almost everyone liked, it was a good burger. For the both of them, Theocelese made a half-pound patty, seasoned with salt, pepper, oregano and just a pinch of Old Bay seasoning. When the meat hit the grill, he cut up several potatoes to make fries and readied two onion buns. The buns were lightly toasted with a torch on all sides, just enough to give it the right amount of crunch but not so long any of the bread yielded charcoal spots. For Seran's friend, he would have a bacon and cheddar burger at the ready, loaded with fries. For himself, the same, but he added a fried egg and a small bit of leftover sausage gravy. All in all, it took Theocelese roughly fifteen minutes to step out of the kitchen, no longer donning his Shigai, but appearing as he would normally. With both plates held in each hand, he would approach where Gage sat, and deliver the plate before setting his own down. Once he grabbed a drink, an ice cold and sweating bottle of Dr.Pepper, Theocelese finally took his seat and began to unwravel the black, cloth napkin containing the cutlery.
"Tell me of your plans, and why the urgency to see them through?"
Gage smiles and heads through the saloon doors, looking the room over and taking in how homely everything looks. From the outside looking in someone would even believe that it was just another restaurant being run by just another man. Grabbing a glass and filling it with water from the tap he heads to a table through the saloon doors again. Taking his seat he continues to look around, pulling his phone out and tapping away. There were a lot of moving parts that he needed to take care of and sitting still was something he was never fond of.
Then the smells hit the air. It was mouth watering, he couldn't really tell what was being cooked but he could definitely come to the decision that he wanted some of it. It didn't matter that he wasn't very hungry right now. Just the scent alone twisted his stomach in such a way to make him feel like he hadn't eaten in a day. "What the hell is he cooking in there?" His mind was half split now between the food sizzling in the kitchen and his phone, getting his assistance to assemble his things so that he could do his work away from his shop.
"First of all, the rush is entirely because of the situation we are in. We know little to nothing about what they are actually capable of. The Quincy I mean. They have no disregard for killing people on a large scale and taking those that they want. If they were to decide to do another Invasion today Soul Society does not have the Manpower or the strength to mount a defense. Hueco Mundo I imagine is also trying to recover from their own attack. The human world however is still defenseless. Everyone looks at it like the humans that live here are expendable but we are not. I know that if you die you become a soul that either wanders the Earth or goes to Soul Society. That doesn't happen if they are killed by Quincy though. I imagine a hollow knows that as well as everyone else."
"As for what I am making. I have heard...no. I know for a fact that there are books on Soul Alchemy. The transmutation of souls from one body to the next or from multiple Souls into a single one. I know for a fact that if I could get my hands on these books and have enough room to work that I could take a Shinigami and bind his powers into a human. Not as a substitute Soul Reaper though. His Spirit would not have to leave the body to Manifest. This would be a fusion of the human and the Shinigami. The first living Shinigami."
Theocelese listened, idly munching on a few of the fresh cut french fries. It appeared that Theocelese lost his appetite, that was not so. Ideas came to his mind, plans that never left the drawing board, so to speak. With this young man's explanation...that could have very well expedited. Theocelese took a small sip of his drink and followed up with this by wiping at his lips with the cloth napkin. Said napkin was then folded nearly into a small triangle, then set beside the plate. "Of all the realms, yours has the most to lose. But you are correct, Young Gage. If the Quincy were to attack right now, there is very little of our numbers left. A skeleton crew, compared to the forces once under my command." Rising from his seat, the Arrancar put up a finger to gain a moment of time. His feet took him back behind the counter, from which he retrieved a medium sized, clear bottle as well as two drinking glasses. Once back at the table, he set the glass for his guest down first, then his own. The cork keeping the bottle sealed revealed an overpowering smell of alcohol...with a hint of citrus. No doubt, this was some kind of moonshine.
"I have never heard of this Soul Alchemy, though I am aware that ancient alchemy and spiritual rituals could be potent. Your method of combining souls, is this the most you are able to accomplish? Can you work with...geneticist notes?" Looking more intrigued than ever, Theocelese's elbows pressed against the table as he leaned in, his fingers crossing with one another. A raising of his eyebrow no doubt led him eager to hear more. "My predecessor, he created data on...a great deal of subjects. One thing he managed to do was to create Arrancar who held no purpose other than to be eaten and in doing the process, he could regenerate completely." Theocelese paused for a moment, then added. "I have not tapped into their numbers. Not yet..." Finally, the Arrancar took a drink from his glass but did not look affected.
"I will not lie to you, Gage...I need more troops, and most importantly, I am in need of generals to lead them. Generals created from my own genetic structure, sons and daughters who will see this war to the end if I am to die. There is no telling what the future may hold, and should I be erased from existence, there must be suitable replacements that I can trust to not turn into tyrannical warlords." The implication that perhaps there was some method of research locked away within the former Eighth Espada's database now presented itself. Before a reply could be given, Theocelese rose his hand up.
"Do what you must to secure the Human Realm, but know I must have security here as well. If you can do this for me--if this is at all within the infinite possibilities of the universe, I will grant you access to anything and everything my laboratories hold. I will even acquire any necessary requisition from the Seireitei, if needed. The last construct-binding parasite in my possession is yours to do with as you please, as well."
Gage leans back, his stomach contently filled with the Fantastic Burger and it's side of fries. The dr. Pepper flavor lingers on his tongue leaving him with a rather satisfied smile. Theo continues to talk, speaking of the numbers that he lost and how few he had left to defend his own realm. Even that he understood the risk that the human world was under with no one to protect it.
Soul Society claimed that human lives were their job to save however the attack on them proved that they were both on able to defend themselves properly at the time, much less spare any of the Shinigami to protect the Human Realm. There were even those inside the society that believed human lives lost were miniscule and not worth concern. That did not sit well with him at all.
“You're right, the attack from the Quincy in hueco mundo was devastating for you. Especially after Soul Society attacked. But even now with your ravaged numbers the human world is undefended entirely. We have three maybe four people both interested and capable of involving themselves in this scale of combat. That's not enough. This is why I am in such a rush. If the next attack were to come next month, hundreds if not thousands of human lives could be lost.”
Thoe seemed to be well receptive of his comments, offering some of his own personal resources. Gage had on several occasions worked at an advanced level in genetics. One or two of his papers were even published in the human world however he had never applied that theory to anything in the spiritual world. It was not that he couldn't do it. He had just never made the attempt.
“I do know a good deal of human genetics and the theories behind them. However I've never actually implemented them in spiritual genetics. Most of my work tends to rely on spiritual bindings and contracts. However, at this state," Gage wave about casually. "I would be willing to take anything that can help. If I can use any of that information I would be more than welcome to receiving it. Thank you.”
The thought of a Hollow capable of regenerating itself even after being consumed intrigued him. If that was true then it could potentially mean a endless food source. Something that would give Hollows no reason to travel back to the human Realm to feed. Gage would have to look into it some more another time. Perhaps there was a way to quench the Hunger of Hueco Mundo.
Even then though, Theo was speaking about adding more soldiers to his Arsenal, even generals to lead them. Even if this man, as cordial as he seemed, was not the same man that attacked the human realm with the vasto Lorde Gage remembers it all in detail. The loss of life that day was tragic and unforgivable. However Gage did find himself in a tight spot, he needed this help and time. But he couldn't arm this man with a full-fledged Army if he was simply going to march it into the human world once again to wage war with Soul Society.
“ I understand your situation. More than most. If you do not have the right people in place to take over after you everything you have done up till now can be erased by the wrong person trying to take charge. I don't want to see another murderous soul leading a army of Hollows into the human world to wreak havoc just so that they can get the attention of Soul Society,” Gage remembers the fires and the screaming. He remembers the blood and the crunch of breaking bones. He still thinks about it on quiet days when he has no work to be done leaving him sick to the stomach.
“So that being the case I will do what I can to help you too, if it's within my power. However, I need your word that you will never march your army into the human world to wage war. I understand that Hallows need to feed. It is the circle of life and it is not something that I am trying to interrupt. However I will not watch Hollows threatening human life so that they can squabble with Soul Reapers over some disputes between their leaders.”
“If you agree to this term then it becomes a binding contract, something that I learned about a long time ago from a friend. If you agree, then you will never wage war with sole Society in the human realm. However if you do break the contract it will burn you to a fraction of who you used to be.” Gage stands and reaches out, his palm glowing green with a vibrant purple rune glowing in his hand. If Theo agrees and shakes it will seal the contract and make the agreement permanent.
OoC Plot tech: by shaking hands Theo agrees to Never March a hollow Army into the human world to wage war. If he attempts to break the contract or use wording loopholes to break the intent of the contract it will subtract three ranks from Theo's ranked at the time that the contract is broken. The Lost ranks will last for either 7 years or however long it takes for Theo to regain full power which can be done by consuming a AL rank creature.
"Understand this, young Gage, I have quarrels to attend to in the world I have died time and time again. There are the heads of people once worshiped as deities that I must claim for vengeance sake. This has nothing to do with the Soul Society, this is...my past merely catching up with me. I will set this term--This personal task will not be impeded upon by my oath to you. I will track down the accursed Sun God and what he has sown, he will reap." Theocelese raised his own corresponding arm to shake, but did not yet. He spoke with such severity in his voice, it felt as though he were on the verge of losing his calm. The Arrancar cracked a melancholic smile, and his words came out low, measured and soft. "You would have the same untenable stance if you knew who was ultimately responsible for the death of your wife...twice..." Theocelese let this sink in, though through these statements there was the obvious implications that this task was something he would venture to do alone. No others would walk down this crimson path beside him.
Finally, Theocelese embraced Gage. It was not a simple handshake, but a firm grasp on the human's forearm and a closing of the gap to put his other arm to the young man's back. "You will no longer be alone in defense of your world, my previous home. I know a few groups still strong in number from my time as a mortal, I'll see to it they join us...and you have my shield to protect you." What a Hell of a feeling it was to be...emotional. Having felt nothing for so long took its toll out on a man, and this conversation led Theocelese to a minor, mental breaking point. "Words are not enough to express to errors of my judgments and decisions, what I helped allow to happen, and to what you were forced to witness. These mistakes shall never happen again."
And it was with these words and this warrior's embrace that marked the beginning of his oath. Not just to Gage, or himself, but to the people in another universe he could still call friends, neighbors and customers. This marked the day that he would be bound by his honour to keep the human world a neutral stage, no matter how his affairs with the Gotei turned out. This interesting character gave hope to Theocelese in many ways. It wasn't the prospect of an army, or powerful children to help take on leadership should he fall. No. Although the chances were remote, less than a single percent in all actuality...Maybe Gage could give him what he wanted and yearned for what seemed like thousands of years. Family. A return to normality, a literal rewinding of the clock to a time before he was forced to endure in this Eternal War. Though the interest was not expressed quite yet, to have Sophia and Alexandra returned to him...There was no force in existence that would stop the Grecian from having them back. Perhaps his sword and shield could be nothing more than a mantlepiece set, after all.
Finally, Theocelese released Gage and he nodded towards the diner's internal exit. When Gage was ready to leave, he would be escorted to the laboratory. "I take it there is much work to be done. You should not be delayed any longer."
Theo spoke with such a calm, solemn voice that gauge simply waited for him to finish what he had to say. At first it almost sounded as if he was going to turn down the offer but not the case. He simply had prior engagements in the human world that he had to tend to. He had to go back to the human world to take care of someone that he refers to as the sun god, interesting enough but none of Gages business so he would let it be for the time being.
To lose your wife, as hard as it may be would still leave the chance of seeing her in the after life. But twice, losing someone, would be a harder blow than dying yourself. “I am sorry for your loss. I have lost people before but never...twice. I have no qualms with you doing what you have to in the human world. Its It's just this spat with soul society has gotten far out of hand.” At the mention of possibly getting more help though Gage couldn’t help but smile, others in the human world joining their ranks along with the promise of Theo to lend his shield when the time demand it. He seemed to be genuinely remorseful for his actions, the past actually making him uncomfortable. “I hope so. I never want to see that kind of bloodshed pointlessly again. One day. One day that beast of a hollow will get what's coming to him.”
The embrace was strong, sealing the deal and making the contract official. A weight seemed to be lifted off his shoulders, almost as if he saw one less threat to the world. But that was small in comparison to the work he just had fall into his lap. There was so much to do.
“Yes, more work than we are both aware of likely.” Walking over to the door Gage stands aside and let's Theo take the lead.
"Pray to whatever gods you will that such hatred never encompasses your true self, young man. I am almost lost to it." There was no further diving into that subject, mostly to the Arrancar himself not wishing to do so at the moment. Now wasn't the right time, but the small hint of intrigue in the human's face gave Theocelese the notion that perhaps he could share the final days of his mortal life to the other man. Only the gods themselves and Theocelese knew what was lost and set into motion on that night. For the time being, however, Gage was led down a series of Las Noches' inner workings. Hallways reconstructed and repainted by one of the Arrancar's lost sons. Murals that rivaled the most archaic of cathedral paintings spread for hundreds of yards, illuminated by high-hanging braziers ever-ablaze. The walk lasted no longer than ten minutes or so, and at the end of a few corridor turns and descending stairs, a rather futuristic looking door lay ahead down a hall glowing in ambient, synthetic lights. The Arrancar nodded to continue forward and when at the door, his hand moved to rest on a black screen. Several green lights at the top blipped in rapid succession.
The door split in two, half falling into the floor while the other rose into the ceiling. A gust of cold air burst from inside the well-light area. The rustic smell of Las Noches' halls gave way to something one could only smell in a hospital. An overt cleanliness, as if the entire area was scrubbed from top to bottom every day cycle. In contrast to the smell of the laboratory, it was not solid white like one might imagine. Steel coloured walls decorated with clocks for the times in almost every major city in each continent lined the walls. Row upon row of computer systems lay underneath the clocks, silently humming. At the center of it all was a single massive screen at least twenty feet long rested firmly against the wall and multiple smaller screens with the corresponding equipment, angled to encompass a sitting station all appeared to be offline, but operational. Four comfortable, black, leather computer chairs appeared as if they hadn't been used in some time. Theocelese stopped here first.
"Our entire database. It holds all of the information gathered from the previous Eighth Espada, such as the profiles of every Hollow or Arrancar once in service to that bastard Aizen. There are also some dossiers on a few Shinigami as well. Seran has gone through and updated the alive and dead statuses. All of Szayel's research and data are stored there as well. We do have everything backed up in case we lose Las Noches and must destroy it."
After a few moments, he continued onwards. Again, the large area looked sectioned off by another secure door in which the Arrancar used his hand to open. Once more, green lights atop the black screen flickered to life before the door opened in the same fashion as the other one. Not surprisingly, the scenery remained the same with the walls and cleanly stench. Instead of clocks of computer systems, however, rows of steel crates and cages lined the left area of the laboratory. Glass containers filled with a translucent, green liquid and small monitoring screens hooked up to the tanks covered the right. In the center looked somewhat like a quarantine area. Metallic rooms with a viewing glass took up much of the interior. Whatever Seran did his testing on, it looked as though this is the area he would have done it.
"The next portion I have converted to a forge. I doubt you have much interest there...but how do we get started?"
Gage walked in silence, taking in the vastness of the halls. The last time that he was here he only had a day to get to look around and even then he was restricted to a particular area of the fortress, never exposed to something like this. Something so...personal. The paintings on the wall were ripe with emotion, each one massive and attributing someone like a god or an idol. It was rather stunning and he could not find himself dallying momentarily to look at it all. Quickening his pace he closes ground back to Theo, matching stride and casually looking up and down the halls, surprised with how regal everything seemed to be. Fit for a king some would say.
Then they reached the good portion of the walk, the doors vanishing into recesses in the ceiling and floor after being opened by Theo's print. The smell of sterilized work space washed over him, a grin reaching his face. It was a good sign, the smell signaling that it was kept up with, the room not being left to its own devices but properly managed. The massive workspace was perfect, isolated from Soul Society while simultaneously having the resources at a glance for nearly everything. Fantastic! Even a forge! Gage was smiling, not like a child in a toy store but like someone who had just found some purpose. Walking over to the computer Gage begins to type away, pulling up some of the Alive and Dead rosters to glace over. "First. I need metal, pure silver or steel. Titanium has good properties but tends to be too resilient to work with. If you have any to spare I am going to need a list of how much. Second I need some time to go over your records. Is it safe to say that you have all your books from where ever you have them stored copied onto the computer?"
Flipping through the list he comes to the hollows of Las Noches. Dead, dead, dead, alive, alive, unknown, dead, dead, captured. Opening the file on the captured Arrancar he gives it a quick scan. "Whats with her?" Gage gestures to a female with rather flattering olive skin, aqua marine eyes and blond hair cut short on her head. Tier Harribel. Supposedly the third espada in the Aizen incident. Captured.
"I have a good deal of steel and silver here. I may not be able to construct things as Seran does, however I am fully capable of crafting a weapon, or a shield, or a piece of armour. I have also dabbled into jewelry as well." Theocelese began, producing a cigarette and lighting it quickly so as to continue. "Normal construction materials are easily garnered and brought back here. I have used my Shigai's Alter-Ego as a...means to still have some influence. Suffice it to say that I can easily acquire you silver as well as steel in an even larger quantity. As for right now, I have roughly a hundred kilograms of silver, and a thousand in steel. More of both if we melt down my collection. Most of it, some I...cannot get rid of." These were, of course, the sets of armour and weapons made for his lost sons. Solinex and Cross, to name his most favoured. The thought of them was enough to nearly sever the cigarette butt between his teeth. As the conversation moved forward and Tia was brought into the picture, Theocelese's agitation grew to be so thick, the threat of his proximity was palpable.
"During our sortie with the Quincy, Tia was captured. Out of all the other Espada, her and a few others were the only ones I could grow to care for, despite how infrequent our interactions. I am ashamed to admit I was lost to the rage to realize this when they withdrew. I have conversed with my remaining forces and put together a strike team to find her after I made peace with the loss of my mother, father and daughter. There are two things obfuscating us from setting out. The first is we are unaware exactly the Quincy are located, and secondly, we have no way to effectively pierce through their defenses. Ideally, once her location is found, my team and I would need to be able to punch a hole in a manner devastating enough that we could safely return her home. Seran has...disappeared. To do who knows what, hopefully to make us a weapon to aid us in winning this war."
It was interesting, this man- no this arrancar, was more human like than many of the Shinigami in Soul Society. He had lost family but was not driven by the missing emotion. He had anger but was not a raging behemoth. There was sorrow but no lingering despair. Humanity was not a lost trait on this Arrancar but even so there was something lingering beneath the surface. There always was, some kind of hidden motive or goal that drives the hollows towards their conquests. Hopefully in time when it surfaces Gage would be ready to handle the repercussions of working with him.
"Well the steel will be more than enough and the silver can make a plating on the inside so that will be fine. Chances are that if you have that much material I wont need to melt anything down but if we start to come close we can go over the options." Gage smiles as he reads through the profiles, several of these Arrancar were simply flak, their abilities and strengths being but a nuisance but others were actually rather intriguing. This...Urriqula. Urriuila? This Espada was capable of some kind of Hollow final release that placed him among the top combatants of Soul Society. Perhaps this would be something of use if he could find someway to replicate it in the hollows around them.
"Well I can't vouch on anything that Seran is doing. That man is more a mystery to me than to you so you would have a better chance guessing what he is up to. However I can say that if you feel that this Tia is capable of providing some insight or even combative strength to the cause then I can say that she is likely at the top of our priorities. I don't know where the Quincy are either but if they are anywhere that it is possible to travel to then I will find a way to get there. As far as attacking, I don't know about the validity of doing that. They have nearly twenty captain grade Sternritters and as confident as I am in your ability I can also be confident that those numbers may be a hair too much for you. Much less anyone that you deem worthy of being your sidekick on this escapade." Gage continued to mull over the options, the chances of survival being a considerable amount less than 'meek'. Digging into the archives on the copied library Gage begins to scan for the books he is looking for, the compilation of documents spanning tens of thousands of books. Great...
"From the accounts spoken to me by her Fraccion, she was capable of handling multiple Captains chosen to confront Aizen by their leader. I speak from personal experience in that I felt her strength. She is as I am, the pinnacle of my kind's evolution. That is to not be overlooked nor underestimated." Theocelese spoke, continuing to pull drags from his cigarette here and there. He weighed the probability and numbers in his own mind. At least twenty Captain level generals at their disposal, but how many of them were there, guarding the "Queen" of Las Noches? In a semi-irritated exhale of smoke, the Arrancar took a few steps to the console and to one of the extra keyboards. "Key word searches are your best friend here. Your work is not relevant to those who have lived here and so, you must move on." He mentioned, only pushing Gage to what needed to be done. Curiosity was one thing...but with the urgency spoken about what needed to be accomplished, Theocelese did not understand what looking at the Espada profiles would do to help them. He did feel the need to comment about Ulquirra coming about, though. "An interesting creature that one. Far stronger than most would give him credit, but a simple puppet none the less. We almost came to blows due to the human girl held prisoner here. Inoue Orihime. My daughter attended the same high school as her. I told Schiffer if he were to ever mistreat her, we would be having more than words. He responded by telling me if I tried to liberate her again, he would hunt me down and eradicate me." Theocelese paused to scoff and his next statement was something muttered more to himself than to Gage. "He would have never won that engagement. His reasons for fighting were too ignoble."
With a few keystrokes, the Arrancar did a direct search specifically 'Geneticist Notes'. This pulled up the proper files he thought the human may need. Another puff of smoke exited Theocelese's nostrils as he stood up straight once more. "Use the knowledge here, use whatever resources you need from my forge. I..." Theocelese stopped suddenly before going back to the keyboard. He typed at the keys rapidly, spelling out 'Future'. A few more clicks and another puff from his smoke. "I never thought of this before...Saving Hallibel, I mean. To get her back. Look." In a surprising display of technical know-how, the Arrancar brought up the blueprints for what looked like a simple pad. At the very top, it read: 'Transponder and Teleportation' .
"What I read from this...it was supposed to allow Aizen's troops to be deployed instantly. No Garganta, no portals, no risk of the Cleaner. It never got beyond this point, I believe I am at fault but...I will risk the use of a prototype if need be. I am capable of departing from an area with haste, and in violent fashion, this method of shattering the dimensions briefly leaves a window for pursuers. We cannot have that." This got Theocelese to thinking. "I could use my method to get there from a desolate location, and use what you can make of this device to return safely with no one on our tail. It would certainly throw her captors off," Theocelese began, replacing his spent cigarette for a fresh one from his pocket. A Zippo's click ignited a newborn cherry. "You speak of the power of these Sternritters, Gage. They are strong...yes...but would their commander have every single one of them positioned to garrison a single Arrancar? No. Would these Quincy expect a sudden attack? No. I do believe it would throw them off, perhaps even damage their morale." He looked to the human now, waiting to see the response. Though it was abundantly clear that this would be happening, with or without Gage's help. With the other man's aid, Theocelese might be able to pull this off far more efficiently.
It was an interesting thought to consider, another hollow out there that was developed to the same level as Theo. Either that or it had reached the same level of evolution but it had not reached the same level of strength. In both cases though, Theo was convinced that she could be of use and play a major role as an asset to the coming months. That in itself was enough of a reason for Gage to put this decently high on his to-do list, should the chance ever arrive. All of this however was conditional on the fact that they can even find where the Quincy are hiding. For now it was not even a possibility so setting the thought aside and compartmentalizing his options he focuses on the task at hand.
Typing in nearly 30 keywords and sending them in precedence for the search engine to go through he is returned a list of nearly 25 books, each being scanned to the computer but computer scans are still only computer scans. “You wouldn't happen to have these still on hard copy would you? Working with a computer or printing these Pages out will work but sometimes it's just better to have the original. I'm also going to need a little bit of time to go over them and get rid of the ones that I'm not going to need. This one here,” Gage points at an older book in a dead loose dialect of Latin,” is the book that I was talking about. If you still have it then I think we have most everything we need to get started and make this happen.”
Ooc: might not be the longest post doing this on mobile
———— Theocelese let out a little snort of a laugh. Gage could not be blamed for not knowing him on a more personal level, but even when a man such as himself only held an internal negative demeanor had to give into the humor of the question asked. “Mmm...one does not run an extremely successful and legitimate business without keeping proper physical paperwork. Having continually updated copies helps as well. As with the electronic files having independent copies, I have alphabetically organized tomes as well.” With a few steps towards a wall bearing only clocks, theocelese stopped underneath the one marked ‘Athens’. He touched the wall, and in a moment the wall slid up. He waved to gage to enter the hidden tomb of tomes.
“All I ask is you put back everything the way you found it.” Theocelese walked a bit further in and clapped his hands. The room illuminated. Yes, the arrancar installed clap on lights inside the hidden storage room. In his defense it was practical and anyone breaking in would have a harder time finding anything if there were no lights. More than likely one hand would be used for a torch which left only a single free hand. Hell, who really knew? Maybe he had some sitting in a box and needed to use them.
Gage laughed slightly at the sight of the library opening up in front of him, thousands of tomes all neatly tucked away in order, each with a place of their own. Grinning he glances at the list of books and starts walking into the shelves, snagging them one at a time before setting them aside. "Sure, I can put them all back." It was a lie though. Gage was notorious for accidentally leaving things out, most of his cleaning being done by hired help or by what ever automated systems he happened to have in his home. It was not a lack of caring, just a lack of interest. He simply had more important things on his mind most of the time to tend to rather than thinking about what he needed to tidy up.
"Perfect. So I need to have a night, I can get all this taken in tonight so we can start working on the actual construction in the morning. I dont suppose that you would happen to have a kitchen here. I am probably going to pull an all nighter and I might need some coffee." Gage immediately sat down and started in the first book , quickly taking notes on what he could understand and cross referencing them to things that he didn't so that he could translate it properly. Who knew that all those years in school studying latin would actually pay off for more than writing secret notes to his High School girlfriend.
