It had been such a long time since the last visit to Hueco Mundo that Fuyuki had almost forgotten what his home land looked like. A vast amount of time had passed since he had left to the human world. Theocelese had vanished once again prompting the now grown vasto to leave. He went searching for him at first but when he had no luck he changed his mission. It took a few weeks before he found the person he was searching for, the one who would help him, Solinex. His adopted father who he was forced onto by Theocelese when the Greek took him in. They were all a rag tag group but Solinex was someone he truly considered to be family. He was one of only two he considered family.
He had found him once again roaming the earth with a group of gypsies. It was fitting that the magician had taken up the life considering that he was never one to stay put. When they had reunited it was all fun and games. Fuyuki with Solinex had left the group to start their own carnival. Most of the human performers did not know why they were so special but they didn’t question it either. Night and day, they performed together on stage providing the audience’s many laughs, tears, and enjoyment.
“Solinex, do you ever miss them?” Asked the blue haired man as they ate dinner quietly in their travel camper. He waited with a long look on his face as the other man was finishing his food. ”Of course..” was all that he could muster before he went back to eating his food. Solinex had changed over time. He had become quiet after they reunited again but the man never tried to pry into what happened. He only knew that his best friend was a lot more cautious with his life and seemed to not be as carefree. On stage it was different, the show must go on, but that act would be dropped immediately after the performance.
Fuyuki worried for his friend and insisted that he stay close. He wanted to alleviate the depression that Solinex had been drowning in. He knew all too well just how draining it could be, depression was a succubus, always looking to suck the last bit of life out. Even though they were technically creatures of an after life they were still alive. Some would try to call it fate, but others called it a curse.
They continued traveling city to city together entertaining the masses until one day they happened to come back to the Japanese city most known for all spiritual events, Karakura Town. He could tell the moment they entered the city that Solinex was tense, all the man could muster was, “It’s going to be okay Soli, we’ll be in town for a night and back out by the morning.” He could see that it was not working though as Solinex suddenly threw himself into preparing for the act.
By nightfall they had begun their escapades with the show starting as usual with Fuyuki performing ice ‘magic.’ Soon it would lead into the second part of the act and then the third until they would reach the finale. Where Solinex would perform his ‘magic’ act which was quite the showing. However on this night half way through his finale something sparked. He saw it in Solinex before he felt it. His character changed he became more flustered and was beginning to rush. The audience started to boo as he begun to fumble over his words and lose most of his stage equipment. Fuyuki quickly ran over to the cat and drug him off stage before it could get any worse.
As he was pushing his friend off the stage he caught the look of someone adorned in odd garments. They almost looked like they were dressed in military outfit and the key thing he had noticed was a cross looking symbol. He could feel the hairs on his neck rising as he himself started to hurry along now. “We should go my friend. Something is wrong.” As they made their way backstage to the other entertainers he noticed that the door was slightly ajar. Before either of them could peek inside they heard a muffled scream and then the smell of iron in the air.
Both darted to the side to escape from that area. As they rushed away they noticed that they were being tailed by three men dressed in the same outfit of the one man. He heard Solinex mumbling something franticly as they hastened their pace. Within moments they had been blocked off by more of the members of this ‘group.’ They tried to go down a side street but there was more of them and before they knew it they were cornered. Suddenly a flash of light blurred past Fuyuki and then another. They were being assaulted with a volley of arrows that both vastos managed to avoid due to their feline senses.
Before they could fight back though Solinex opened a portal to Hueco Mundo and pulled them inside of it. He was suddenly stronger than before thanks to the adrenaline pumping and the fact that he wanted them to survive. As they came out into the sands Solinex started to speak quickly, so fast in fact that Fuyuki could barely process it all. ”They’re going to still come hurry!” He yelled as they ran across the dunes. It only took a few minutes of them running at full speed that they reached a small opening to a cave that both used to use to play hide and seek. As they both fell to their bottoms he noticed something was wrong. There was blood, a massive amount was pouring out from Solinex, all his sides were wounds were the arrows had pierced him.
Before he could say anything, the man spat out blood that covered Fuyuki’s face. He started to sink backwards almost being swallowed up by the cave. Fuyuki’s body shook as he saw his friend raising his hand to cup his face. He wanted to speak but couldn’t. Fuyuki could now see that there was a major hole in Solinex’s stomach region. He couldn’t even begin to imagine how the magician made it all the way there without killing over in the first place.
There were footsteps suddenly as he could hear people approaching him. Solinex ignored them as he looked on at the man sitting before him. He looked at him like a proud father for the first time, and then there was only the look of a lost soul. Fuyuki had no chance to say goodbye as his adopted father was attacked once more, his body desecrated by the blast, leaving him there alone. His only way out blocked like a cork in a wine bottle. As they attempted to move closer the cave was suddenly being coated in ice from the sheer pressure of Fuyuki.
His entire body shook with rage that was mixing with grief. There was no time for words only revenge. He let out a primal scream that bounced off the walls of the cave echoing out. It was eerily like a lion roaring only magnified so much that it could reach all the way to Las Noches. It was his war cry signaling the start of his retaliation.
There was nothing that he could have done. Solinex did not wish to be found, and Theocelese respected that. The feline-like Arrancar witnessed first hand the plague afflicting the former Eighth Espada. Anger was something not foreign to Theocelese, but never had it been so...terrifying before. Holes were riddled in the walls of Las Noches, furniture shattered, and when Theocelese wasn't a violent threat to the others around him, he wasn't sober. Or awake for that matter. He'd drunk himself into sleep far too many times than anyone could have ever remembered him doing. Save for the few parties where everyone drank themselves into oblivion, Theocelese rarely touched a bottle. There were few that could subside his fury, and even that that took considerable effort. He'd nearly destroyed the damn fortress. The day Solinex left...that day Theocelese would remember for the rest of his life. It took one wrong look from one of the other Arrancar that caused him to snap, vision clouded in a red haze. Solinex's voice, distorted, broke through.
"Master Theocelese! Leave thy friend free from thy anger!" The feline Arrancar demanded, going so far as to try to pull the Grecian away.
And what was this attempt to keep all parties involved from coming to blows greeted with? A backhanded strike that sent Solinex stumbling back. Theocelese, without any comprehensible words, muttered curses in an unknown language, grabbed what few bottles of home-brew alcohol remained before ripping the cabinet from its position to fall crashing to the floor, splintering into a hundred pieces of crystal shards and wooden spikes. When they first met, back in the days where all of Hueco Mundo found itself subdued by the rogue-Shinigami, Sosuke Aizen, he'd just killed Szayel and happened across Solinex not too long after. Most of the other Espada were known for their cruelty and lack of compassion for others. Theocelese promised he was not.
"I'm not like the others, my dear Solinex." He told the other Arrancar. "My intentions of you are not foul, and you are not some puppet or tool to me. I'll never hurt you, and I'd never force you do something you'd never truly want to do." Truth be told, Solinex, Cross and Ikana were the ones he felt closest to. The former two were like the wild and wacky sons he'd never had before, they were brothers to his daughter. Ikana was a creature of a different sort...perhaps they could have been something more in the time after Las Noches' liberation, but she disappeared not too long after of her own volition. They were loyal. They were family. And Theocelese loved them, far more than anyone else in his life as a ghost. Perhaps, even more than Cross, he loved Solinex most of all. After his ordeal with the Trojans, when all others searched for him in both the human world and Hueco Mundo, it was his most beloved son who found him, nearly on death's door. It was Solinex who remained at his side and helped nurse him back to help. The conversations were...Well, Theocelese couldn't remember most exchanges. The painkillers made him go in and out of consciousness.
"How did you find me?" He'd asked Solinex, keeping the young lad's forearm gripped loosely with his hand.
"I followed thy spire of power which turned night to day, Master. I felt thy presence across't all of Hueco Mundo."
And for all that this soul did for him, Theocelese could not even accept help in being saved from himself. He'd betrayed Solinex, and as a result, the Arrancar left. Time passed, and when some semblance of the caring father-figure to the former Fraccion returned, he went looking. High and low, The Lion searched for his cub but to no avail.
When the Quincy attacked, those he called family came to mind first--but only until the waves of wrath enveloped him. The battle was one yes, but many were gone. Permanently. Tia had been captured as prisoner, and now Las Noches remained manned by but a mere skeleton crew. It hadn't been until this day that Theocelese thought the inevitable would actually come to pass. Those he had not seen in...he didn't know how long now...considered them already gone, but in his heart he couldn't believe it until there was actual closure. He'd been in a session of prayer when he felt it. Fuyuki. No generation of Reiatsu was that powerful unless...
With armaments haphazardly attached to his person, Theocelese exploded out into the desert, following the location of power and it was then he sensed the others. Quincy....and....Solinex? His was weak--vastly diminishing, and this fact spurned Theocelese faster. Behind the wall of ice, the beautiful Noxa sang, her curved, hooked teeth chewing, biting, sawing at these despots until their screams were cut short by the guttural tearing of their throats. Nearly lost to the rage again, Theocelese butchered the bodies, mutilating the corpses to such an extent it was nearly impossible to tell these beings had ever once looked remotely human. His dilated pupils turned to the ice, and Theocelese roared loudly, his fists battering against the wall causing bloodied flecks and chunks of ice to fly about until Noxa was taken to it, and he was all too determined to saw through the blockade to get to the other side.

Everything faded to darkness after his scream of rage. He lost himself in it, momentarily losing all control, and when he had come to most of them had been eviscerated. The walls of ice covered in blood sliding down the cold surface. Bodies were everywhere with multiples of them being pierced through with pikes of ice. He still trembled with fury that he had never known before, but it was not enough as he was soon over run. They vastly outnumbered him even with the immense strength he now possessed the odds were just too stacked. Soon his body was becoming riddled with wounds from their attacks until finally he started to falter.
As he started to come out of his rage he could barely make out one of the men he just killed with his bare hands. Just as soon as the soul left that man his place was taken by another. They were swarming like locusts. He continued to fight on trying to take down as many as he could. If this was going to be it, he would kill them all. Fuyuki was soon out of options though as he felt his body being slammed into a wall. There was one man who was vastly superior to them all, the one from the show, and the one who was leading them. He had waited for the right moment keeping a close eye on Fuyuki’s actions. He could not get too close once the vasto went into his fit of rage; no that would have meant death.
He let the peons move in to attack one by one they fell to the man and he continued to bide his time. Once he saw the opening though he slammed his blade into Fuyuki’s back and pierced him into the wall. “He’s mine.” Was enough to send the others reeling back to the entrance of the cave. Pulling the blade out caused Fuyuki’s blood to splatter across the cave ceiling but no one would know as the crimson river rained down like a song that Theocelese once sang to him. The leader laughed as he sliced at the ice magician’s back causing multiple gashes to start forming but Fuyuki refused to fall.
It merely riled up the vasto more he needed just enough time to regain his energy, but this man wasn’t allowing that. He grabbed him by the hair and proceeded to use it to lift Fuyuki into the air. He had enough strength to swing him over his shoulder and slam him down into the cave flooring. He was being tossed around like a sack of potatoes and at this point he was basically just that. The quincy stepped over him to look him directly in the eyes as he continued to torment him. “You disgusting hollows will all die. We the quincies are going to eradicate you all!” The quincy leader placed the heel of his left foot deep into Fuyuki’s throat causing him to gasp for air as he was being choked. He could feel it the sweet embrace of death coming ever close but there was also something else. Something was coming, a raging monster was outside pounding to be let in, Fuyuki could feel him. He grinned causing the quincy to prepare his final attack that would bring about the end of the vasto. With a last act of defiance Fuyuki lifted his left hand and pointed a single finger at his opponent. A gesture taught to him by the same raging monster that was outside.
Noxa’s teeth churned still st the ice, her engine roaring like a foul daemonette. Inside the cave, the Quincy knew by now who it was looking to gain entrance into the cave. Löwe aus der Mitternacht, the Quincy called him, the Lion of Midnight. Just like the many thousands of Hollow before them, those of the Wandenreich of lesser rank spoke in hushed whispers of the Arrancar. He never fought in any shred of daylight, Hueco Mundo being the realm of eternal night and all. There was a deafening crash as the ice gave way, exploding inwards as Theocelese burst forth, his arm cocked back with the chain axe held in hand. The weapon was thrown, hitting the Quincy assaulting Fuyuki in the side. The obscene display of gore that followed was unlike most had ever seen. Noxa bit deep, ripping and tearing into the leader until his torso was viciously carved in half st the side. Theocelese drew his ancient blade next, eyes unable to focus on anything that did not register as a threat. Whoever was left, theocelese butchered like helpless lambs.
“Fuyuki...Solinex...” the names that escaped his throat was like hot lava. His blade dropped to the ground as he rushed to the blue haired arrancar, lifting him up in both arms. He carried the boy to Solinex, clutching him tightly.”What happened...l” he barely managed to get out. His fingers twitched violently at first, and the look of horrendous, mind breaking anger was writ across his face. The sudden realization helped to subdue this, for the time being

Fuyuki chuckled softly as the man that once stood above him was cleaved. He had made it in time to finish off the quincy threat but there was still the fact that they both lost a dear friend. After a few moments it was just those two alive in the cave and he could feel the anger still radiating off his friend who now lifted him up. His back was stained with blood that continued to drip at a slower pace akin to an iv put into the sick. His entire body was on fire that was not going to go out with a simple covering of ice or bandage. He was trying to heal with his regeneration, but the wounds inflicted would need their time. “Can you stand?” He was asked.
“I think I can.” He replied softly as he tried to wiggle away from Theocelese. “We were caught off guard, the two of us had been traveling together, and at the last performance they showed up. I never heard of them before but Solinex did. He was scared..” He looked at the body of his friend his death still not fully clicking yet. “I think this wasn’t the first time.” He mustered up the strength to reach out to Solinex’s hand and quietly placed it in his.
He was quiet for a moment allowing time for the other man to speak and to allow himself a moment to think. Memories faded in and out in his mind as he looked at the cold body. There were happy memories, sad memories, but each one held for significance for a reason. Tears started to slide down his face as the death was finally sinking in and as they rolled off his cheek they turned into ice dropping onto the ground. “Why did this happen to him?” It was a question which he did not need an answer for.
The turmoil grew inside of him as he thought about how unfair it was and each second that passed his anger grew. He slammed his hands into the ground refusing to move from the body as he continued to mourn for his friend. He barely could remember that he was there with Theocelese, zoning in and out, trying to refuse to cooperate with the world around him. Fuyuki had grown up quite a bit but there was still the fact that to him Solinex was his father who he thought would never die.
There was no rage. Or maybe there was, but to just such an extent that his body became completely numb. Solinex lay there, motionless now and he was too late. Theocelese said nothing, just sat there on his knees for a good long while. And then, he finally answered the boy Arrancar. "This happened because of me." Was all he managed to say in no more than a whisper. He picked up the body with both arms, cradling Solinex to him. "Come, boy. He deserves a proper funeral. Grab my weapons." The words were spoken as if they were just fact. Fuyuki was no stranger to Theocelese, and anyone who was no stranger to the man knew he was passionate in almost all things. There was no passion in his voice...rather, there was absolutely nothing there. Whatever ate at the man, he was bottling it to such an extent that the repercussions down the line could prove to be catastrophic for anyone around him. The trek back to Las Noches was a silent one, but this was to be no mere burial. His son would not be placed under six feet of sand. Theocelese's footsteps led him to the medical bay, and upon what looked like an operating table, Solinex Dalto was placed.
"I know what Solinex was to you, boy. We must accept what has happened and give him the honour he deserves. Go to my room, and near my shrines is small chest containing what we will need. Go now."

The two of them traveled the far distance back to ‘home’ with him carrying the weapons of Theo. Solinex at least what was left of him was carried there by the Greek man. They crossed the dunes in silence as Fuyuki was still numb to the world around him. His face was almost stained from the tears that were shed for his friend. It took some time but before he knew it they were in the medical bay of their home where the body of Solinex was laid. He dropped the weapons by the door that led out of the room and rested his shoulder against the door way.
“Alright..” Was all he said as he walked away. His thoughts were cloudy as he moved down the hall. He remembered the first time that Theocelese brought him to Solinex. There was a part of him that wanted to smile but he just couldn’t allow it to happen. As he entered the room he looked for the small chest seeing it in the exact place he was told it would be. It took only a few minutes for him to be back on his way but to him it felt like a life time. He felt it in his soul that soon part of him was going to be put to rest and that it would change him forever.
Fuyuki arrived in the medical bay again and cautiously brought over the chest. No doubt the pain he was going through had to be ten times worse for this man. To him they were all his children, his brothers, his family. He was the one that brought them all together, the glue that bound them, and the center piece of it all. He remained quiet as he waited to see what his friend would do for this unfortunate circumstance.
Fuyuki left Theocelese and silence took the room, deafening the Arrancar's own ears. He wanted to scream and unleash his fury on everything around him, he wanted to level this entire fucking place. For the many joyous times it gave him and those he held close, the losses were a toll on his psyche that he would never truly recover from. But...for everyone else who still breathed, Theocelese did as he had to. Despite the painful spikes in his mind, the white hot migraines and twitching fingers which grew to insurmountable levels the worse his agitation became, he'd have to learn to control himself. Perhaps, once the essence of the Sun God was absorbed, all of this would subside. For the time being, Theocelese undressed the dead boy. Cloth and hot water were gathered, one for the body, and one for the hair, and by the time Fuyuki returned, the older appearing Arrancar was merely waiting.
Without a word, Theocelese dug into the chest, pulling out various oils and spices. Into the water they went, and with the rags, the Grecian began cleaning the body. "We will not remember him like this, boy. Come and help me." He said this, and nothing more. Unless Fuyuki spoke, they would cleanse their fallen son and father, respectively, of blood. The wounds, sewn closed and lastly, Solinex's hair washed to a vibrant shine. Theocelese made several thick braids of the hair, taking personal trinkets, charms and the like from his own collection and intertwining them in the braids. Small cones of incense were set upon the slab, lit, and allowed to fill the room with the archaic scents and smoke of a time only known to most from textbooks. "Two coins, place one on each eye." He said to Fuyuki, allowing the boy to finish the last step of this part of the ceremony.

The man placed each coin where the Greek told him too. He was able to hide his emotions better now that sometime passed but it was still troublesome. As they cleaned and mended the body he wondered just what was going on in Theocelese’s mind. It had to be filled with turmoil once again. He spoke about building something called a pyre and simply nodded to the man. If it meant them building something in honor of Solinex he would follow the lead presented to him. “What do we need to build it?” He asked as he moved a couple inches away from the table.
He waited for Theocelese to tell him what they needed before he would go to get it. He swayed just a bit as he started to get uneasy. His wounds were still taking time to heal, and he needed to rest. However, he still wanted to help with this process, so they could both put him to rest. The magician still had one show that needed to be put on, but it would be his last to ever have. Fuyuki just hoped it would be good enough but then when he looked at the Grecian he knew it would be.
Theocelese looked to Fuyuki, face still lacking much, if any emotion, but the masked pain didn't escape his eyes. "Go and rest, boy." There was a sudden change of heart, it seemed. Maybe he'd been so blind as to notice Fuyuki's own injuries until this point, and the few that managed to break his godly skin were paid no attention to. He hadn't bothered to heal them quickly, but left them to scab over. If they broke, they broke. "This is a father's burden to bear. I'll fetch for you when I am finished." These were the last words spoken before Theocelese left.
Wood was no problem to find here in Las Noches. The abundance of lumber and nails from the many reconstructive efforts were what he intended to use. And so, for what seemed like at least a few hours, the sounds of his hammers hitting the nails into place could be heard. They echoed inside the domed, yellow desert of Las Noches. Each strike was delivered with more than enough force, an attempt to try and slowly unleash his repressed anger. Many boards were broken, and were needed to be replaced. Theocelese always hated this part of the fortress...but Solinex loved it. Whenever Theocelese could pry the boy away from his majestic paintings to do some sparring, it was always in the light. Never in the dark.
Ten feet tall, the pyre was finished quickly and a single torch constructed, lit and stuck in the sand. But he'd not let it be just simply wood. His son's bed would be placed atop it all, and his paints splashed along the wooden construct in what looked like a haphazard manner. No one would understand but Theocelese, and maybe Fuyuki. Solinex once sat his master down, attempting to help better teach him the arts, but when the Eighth Espada mentioned what he painted wasn't any good, Solinex simply took his brush dipped in paint and swept the air with it, leaving nothing but chaotic lines on the canvas. He explained to Theocelese that art was not a Mona Lisa, or the Sistine Chapel. It came from the heart and the soul. And it was that very painting which Theocelese laid on the mattress. That very act cracked the veneer of calmness about him, and in that moment, Theocelese was lost to his own suffering.
One of the many, still standing nearby red pillars scattered around the inside of Las Noches was the victim of his wrath. He punched at the stone several times, each blow knocking away chunks of rock until the red piece began to fell. With an agonized cry, Theocelese grabbed hold of it, and with tensed muscles, brought it down crashing opposite of the freshly built pyre. The fresh cloud of sand that erupted up was quickly blown into ash as Theocelese let a Cero loose. And then another. And then another. Amid the smoke, the Arrancar stood there, panting heavily but not from exhaustion, but to contain the disease that thundered in both his mind and veins.
He stormed back inside the halls once more, giving the order for another Arrancar passing by to go and fetch the blue haired boy. Theocelese, in the meanwhile, went to down to retrieve Solinex's body. By the time Fuyuki was taken to the inner cloister, Theocelese would be waiting for him, torch in hand. Solinex, now resting on his bed one last time with the lavish curtains drawn to a close, save for the one his father stood beside.

Fuyuki nodded to the man before walking away without so much as a look back. He made his way to the room he once stayed in and as he walked past he motioned to one of the others that stayed there. He would need assistance with cleaning the wounds and bandaging them. The vasto walked in silence other than the footsteps that carried him along. Once he crossed the threshold his mind was filled once more with additional memories of when he was a cat hollow and the many times he played hide and seek with his friends. He walked past one of the cat posts he used to climb on as he made his way into the bathroom.
It was there that he undressed from his tattered shirt while his assistant brought in the multiple healing applications and bandages. He didn’t have to really communicate with them as they started to assist him with cleaning the multiple wounds. Fuyuki winced as they cleaned his back. The lashes had left quite the gash, his regeneration skills were starting to help, but there seemed to be some scarring left. Those moments replayed in his mind again and again. His heart was starting to be burdened by hatred that was finding it’s place inside.
He wanted to tear everything apart, his anger was starting to boil over again as his hands trembled, he started to growl lowly. His animalistic side was coming out as he thought about what happened. The assistant finished applying the last bandage before hurrying out the door afraid of what was coming. The entire bathroom slowly froze over from his reiatsu pouring out, the water droplets leaking from the sink faucet formed an icicle, and the smooth tile was glossed over with a layer of ice. Fuyuki slammed his fists into the sink shattering most of it into a million pieces.
His tantrum lasted long enough for the entire bathroom to be destroyed and even the door frame that was brought down. Fuyuki bandaged his hand now that it had fresh wounds and walked out of the destruction. He would have to find a way to fix the bathroom before Theocelese found out or he would be in trouble. His path was taking him to the kitchen, so he could find some food before someone came running for him, they spoke of the Grecian being ready, and so he drifted of course.
It took a few minutes to get over to the pyre but as he made it there he saw Theo standing with a torch. ’It has to be part of his customs.’ He thought to himself as he saw what looked like a massive tribute to Solinex. He was told to speak some final words, but they didn’t come so quickly. He stood silently looking at where the body laid no longer filled with life. Fuyuki took his time to gather his thoughts and begun to speak.
“Solinex, you were a lot more to me than just a friend. Ever since Theocelese brought us together you’ve been an adoptive father to me. One that was forced of course, I know you never intended to be my mentor, but we always got lumped together. The first time we were separated I was afraid, I was scared and alone. Without you or Theo’ I was always on the run again. If it wasn’t for that I would have never been able to push forward though. I wanted to find you though and because of that I had to get stronger. So, thank you because of you I was able to evolve further. It still wasn’t good enough though because I lost you again. I always thought it was because you didn’t want me around, I thought it was because I was weak and a snot nosed brat. So, I figured maybe if I could get stronger you’d want me around.” He paused as some tears started to run down his face. “I thought with that second form you’d be proud of me if I found you. And when I did things had changed so much. I was no longer a small child and you.. well you weren’t the same. You had gotten paranoid, afraid, and cold. With me around it seemed you were happier at least but it wasn’t until you died that I saw how you really felt.” He rubbed the tears away as he continued.
“I know you were proud of me and what I became. I know that you had fun these past couple months and years with all of us. Even during the bad times. You were a good guy and I am proud to have had such an eccentric mentor to me. You deserved a better showing than what you got, we should have gotten to fill out stadiums with our act, but I know you will finally get to rest in peace. So, carry on those theatrics and when we meet again I’d like for you to really show me some of those tricks.”
He looked over to Theocelese and simply nodded. “We’ll miss you Pops.” Was the last thing he could say as he let the Grecian carry out the final moments.
Theocelese looked towards Fuyuki only briefly as the boy approached, and as he had since carrying Solinex back, remained quiet and to himself. In one hand, he held the torch with a grip so powerful, the slightest addition of pressure would snap it in half. The other bore nothing, but remained curled into a tight fist. It was the only thing he could do to keep his hands from going into spasms. And so, he stood there and listened. The words spoken were not said in a manner he would have, but they were true to their own speaker. He could not ask for more. When at last Fuyuki spoke, the more elder looking of the two kept stationary, eyes fixed on the pyre, looking for the right words to say. Never had Theocelese found himself at a loss for words like this, there was always some bit of wisdom, an old saying, or even a song he could refer to. Several times his mouth opened, then closed, just as his eyes did in frustration. A knot formed in his throat, making the subsequent swallow that much harder to do. When such a thing finally happened, Theocelese's own words were finally allowed to escape from their prison of guilt.
"I have lost all those I considered my children and there is no greater shame a man can bear, no heavier burden to carry than knowing no others are to blame. The fault rests on my shoulders, and mine alone. I commit you to this sacred escape from the Eternal War, Solinex Dalto. And just as the cleansing flames of your honorary pyre take you from me in all aspects but memory, I too will endure what you no longer feel. Forgive me, my son, for all transgressions. Egó tha tous skotósei ólous...Back to the Midnight Oasis with you." He tossed the torch down, the flames immediately growing to immense heights as soon as the fire started.
"Engonós, go now. I've one last task I must see through alone." He said to Fuyuki, climbing empty air until he reached the peak of the monument. Theocelese sat kneeling down beside the bed, one arm outstretched to take one of Solinex's own as the lapping waves of heat climbed higher.

He had always loved their magic acts.
Ice had danced. Fire had sparkled. Together they made a beautiful amalgamation of reiatsu such that every audience was left in awe. Paint the sky with thy soul, he had urged his blue companion once. Let your colours reveal all!
Those colours. That music. Their applause. All of it staved off the hollow emptiness growing in Solinex’s sunny yellow gaze.
It was small at first. The thoughts, the whispers, the human memories. Unforeseen to even Fuyuki or his Master Theocelese at first. It scratched at his mind, gently prying away layers of sanity given when the Hougyoku removed his Hollow mask, all those years ago.
It took time, but deeper into his mind’s abyss Solinex fell, insanity forever clawing his heels. Anger that had been quiet for centuries bubbled in his usual games of art and grandeur. The friendly bouncing light in his eyes oftimes clouded until someone called his name, when it would reunite him with smiles and laughter. Soon he realised he required freedom from his savage mind to be safe. But those words…those dainty sweet words feathered with cake frosting tempted him.
Guilt wrapped him like a winter blanket, cozy and trapping.
He never wanted to hurt anyone.
It was all for the show….all for the show…
“Solinex, do you ever miss them?”
Fuyuki spoke so calmingly.
“Of course he does,” Solinex smiled morosely. A light of his long life they were and forever shall be, a brief summer in his unending wintry tundra.
All…for the show. ________________________________________
When the Quincy arrived, Solinex felt it.
His last threads. He clung to them. Desperately.
Why Quincy were here now did not matter. He did not care. He urged that one thought consume him, if it were his last, if he could not finish his final act how he wanted.
Protect Fuyuki.
From the depths of his being untouched strength welled. The Garganta was open, their Sonido was sonic, but arrows flew at them. Unbiased, and cold.
As cold as Solinex’s mindscape would dangerously become. But some ice was not cold…it was close…
The Garganta closed behind them, and only then did Solinex let his body scream.
He had stopped every arrow aiming at Fuyuki with his body. Every last one.
He was so grateful.
“Fortune smiles…one final time,” he spluttered as blood filled his mouth. His smile was wry.
Blonde cat ears bent in submission. A once beautiful golden tail drooped with the weight of his blood. He staggered forwards, meekly raising a clawed hand towards the one blue-haired Arrancar he could call…
No…there were others he could call that too.
Dismal images of other faces filled his hazed mind.
Theocelese…Cross…Hidane… A father, a brother, a friend…
His father…was truly unlike the others. Whilst always enamoured with doubt, he knew he loved the decorations around Las Noches, he accepted him.
Loved him…maybe.
Did he…have someone that could call him a father too?
Blood continued to fall in large torrents, but it did not damper Solinex’s smile. Finally, his mind was clear. He could look at Fuyuki now. He saw someone grown from the little Adjuchas Hollow he met that one misty morning. He was stronger than him now, beyond all doubt. He always knew.
He continued to raise his hand, trying to touch Fuyuki’s cheek. Solinex’s smile was so wondrous, lighting the sunless sky as emotional tears fell from slitted pupils. His feelings broke through that carapace of a personality to shield himself from others. There was no need for theatrics, or pompous fanfare. Not anymore.
The sun had risen and set in a single moment. Its light would be everlasting, and shine on Fuyuki’s future. No matter what it would be, it would shine.
“I am…” the magician began, his words whispered. “…so…grateful.”
His hand missed Fuyuki’s cheek, and his vision began to darken. Yellow eyes closed, a breath was let out, and his body fell forward.
His final thoughts were whimsical.
He had finally managed the trick which no one else could do. He had brought light into a world where light did not shine. In the black depths of Hueco Mundo, he had shone. Bright as the sun.
Solinex Dalto fell to the ground, a smile on his lips.

Fuyuki was not sure what Theo said when he had spoken his native tongue, but he understood it was time for him to go again. He walked away as he silently wished his friend strength that he would need in this dire time. The blue haired man made his way through the kitchen, grabbing a snack he continued back to his bedroom. He noticed that the bathroom he had destroyed was already fixed. It seemed that there were some benefits of being back in this area. He closed the door to his bedroom before sitting down on his bed.
The lad started to eat his snack as he thought about the day. He was still feeling numb to the point that he wasn’t sure he was the one that made it through the ordeal. He could feel the temperature dropping his room, not from his reiatsu, but from the cooling unit of the room. His room was the coldest room in the building only because he hated the heat and Theocelese always went out of his way to accommodate for his family. He soon finished his snack and made his way under the covers of his bed.
It was during his sleep that he started to see clearly what happened in the cave. He could see it all, it was so vivid that he started to toss and turn in his bed. His covers wrapped around his body constricting him as he dreamt of the ambush. He soon woke from the nightmare, sweating enough to soak through the sheets, for once in his life he felt cold. Fuyuki brought his knees to his chest as he laid his chin across them. He looked at his walls as he waited for the sweet embrace of sleep to take him once more.
And so, Theocelese remained with his son until the fire consumed all it touched, turning it to ash, save for the man himself. He'd burned in what he imagined what the fires of Hell felt like, for there was no punishment perfect for his sins other than to feel his skin melt, and muscles char, only to be regenerated and let the cycle continue. Alone, and with no audience, Theocelese finally let go and wept. Even with the promise of a brighter future right at his fingertips, there would never be one to replace Solinex's smile and uplifting aura. It seemed that all this life had to offer was agony. A loved one gained, and ten more were lost in the process. A future secured, but a current home lost. He'd always hated what he became to some degree or another, but now, Theocelese could only hate himself. The Quincy may have fired their energy bolts, but it was Theocelese who gave cause for the adoptive son to leave. As in all things, the Arrancar knew there was a lesson to all actions and words.
At last, when the flames died and there remained but two things left to survive the flames, he sat in the ashes, clutching the handle of the weapon still in its scabbard. When at last he rose, Theocelese went to his belongings and made himself decent once more. With a green, felt pouch, he gathered the ashes of the funeral arrangement. He would take Solinex's ashes to the highest peak in all of Greece and let them fly freely to wherever the gods would take them. He tried to leave the area, but couldn't bring himself to do it. A surge of anger spiked in his blood and his head began to throb violently. For the last time, he would speak these words.
"Goodbye, my son."
It felt like a piece of cloth stuck on hooks being torn down from a window, and finally, Theocelese let the ashes and sand mix together behind him as he walked back inside the place the two of them made into their home.
It didn't take long for him to find Fuyuki, and when he did he found curled up underneath the visibly wet sheets. He didn't stop at the doorway, however. The Lion walked slowly, and sat on the bed beside next to the boy and said nothing, but the silence in the room gave way to fact he was battling much internally, and doing his best not to show weakness. "Fuyuki." He whispered out, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.

He felt the pressure of Theo clasping him on his shoulder. It was a soft touch that still weighed a hefty amount, a sign of all the baggage he carried with him. Fuyuki was able to zone back in to reality when he cocked his head to the side and looked at the man. “I’m sorry.” Was he could say at first as he prepared himself for what he was about to say. “It’s all my fault, I wasn’t strong enough to help Solinex before, and I didn’t know who they were.” He looked back to the wall he had been staring at previously.
“It’s my fault for not being able to do something sooner. I should have just started fighting right then and there. But he feared them. I panicked.” Folding his fingers into the center of his palms he made fists out of anger. He felt like a royal screw up. “It’s all my freaking fault for being so daft. What’s so good about being the way I am if it doesn’t help? Why did I even go as far as to gain Segunda if I couldn’t use it in time?”
He wanted to break down again, but it wasn’t the time too. Fuyuki at this point was unsure of what else there was to say the man who took him in. Would he blame Fuyuki? It didn’t seem like the type of thing that he would do but this was a situation no one expected. He waited for him to talk hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
"There is no need to apologize, little one." Theocelese whispered. "The fault is not with you, but is my own. Look to me, boy, and see the unsettling monster I have become. I know you are plagued with the thoughts of revenge, those thoughts are my own as well...but do not let my sickness become your own. I chased Solinex out with it and no matter what I do, I cannot wrestle Father Time to turn back the clocks. I suffer the deepest of shames, and I hate myself for what I have done. All I can do now is look to the future...no matter how bloody and full of carnage it will be." The Arrancar turned slightly, and with his other arm, scooped the boy up for a fatherly embrace. "Strike doubt and self-hindering thoughts from your mind. We have lost a brother, a father, and a son, in the matter of a few moments....but he lives on in us, and when the day comes that these halls are filled with life again, they will walk past the murals and paintings and they will ask the person responsible, and we will tell them." His arms loosened, moving to his side to unsheath the blade strapped to his side. The zanpakutou rested in one palm, not just showing Fuyuki, but holding it out for him to grasp.
"One day, this will belong on your belt. For now...it will stay on mine." Theocelese rubbed at his bloodshot eyes slowly, and when he opened them, the man gestured to the window. "Come." He stood now, stretching out slightly as he walked to the opening in the fortress. "Show me why your father was so proud of you."

There was a part of him that understood what the man said about revenge and how it changed him. He understood that Solinex would not want him to go down that path but there was another path. That path would involve him being able to avenge Solinex while not losing himself to the revenge. At least that is what he knew his father would want. Fuyuki needed to protect his fellow brethren from the quincy threat and it would align nicely with him wanting to kill every one of them. He didn’t vocalize this as he felt Theocelese would object to it still.
He nodded as the man spoke about filling the halls with art in honor of the fallen and how one day that blade he had would be his own. He appreciated the way this man went out on a limb for him and showed a nurturing side. It was quite calming in these trying times. “I guess I will follow but I’m not too sure I understand.” He spoke gently as he climbed out from the bed. His new clothes were waiting on the night stand beside him. He dressed in a lighter pair of shorts and shirt that was a different style than the clothes Theo wore. He moved by the window as he waited for an explanation of what they would be doing.
"You are not the only one who has reached such a state." He spoke of Segunda Etapa, but only in the normal manner he seemed to these days. Cryptic and behind walls of vagueness that could drive others mad. He leaped from the window, far into the white desert. There was no use waiting for Fuyuki while he dressed in a different sort of clothes. When far enough away from Las Noches, Theocelese strapped the round Zanpakutou to his arm, and muttering the words which sealed away his own damning powers, he evolved in form to a monster hidden behind armored plating, protected by both spear and shield. Beneath the helmet, his eyes glowed as roaring purple flames, the ethereal waves creeping out of the openings at his eyes and swirling behind him. Theocelese stood there, ready and waiting, spear stabbed into the ground. The amount of people he'd shown this...unholy, new form to, could be counted on less than one hand. He hadn't even utilized it when the Quincy invaded. He didn't need to. The lot thrown at them that day were utterly pathetic, and even when the killing stopped, Theocelese wanted--No, needed to brutalize more bodies to sate the desire to create destruction.

Fuyuki was a bit taken a back by how quickly the man left. His words had already left him stunned but it seemed there was to be a contest between them. He was not looking forward to this because of the stories that were told about Theocelese. He knew there was a monster just waiting inside of the man looking to come out. There wasn’t a doubt that he would try to contain it, but it was nerve wracking to think about. After he finished getting dressed he hopped out of his window and plopped onto the ground with a small bend at the knees to lessen the impact.
He could feel his friend’s energy radiating in the distance allowing him to be able to sense the general direction of which he went. Fuyuki took a few sonido movements to arrive at the area and when he did he was quite shocked. There once stood the man he considered to be one of the kinder souls in this world now adorn in plated armor wielding a new set of battle equipment. His body swayed under the pressure that radiated off the man, he considered just how badly this could end for him, but with a deep breath he pressed on.
He swung his own blade around from his back and took its hilt into his left hand. He muttered just two words to have it release his abilities. His body grew a few more inches in suddenly with the new-found power pouring out of his blade. Bone plating also wrapped around his wrists with part of this bone also extending off and curving until the tip of it was half way up his forearm. He was emitting his own type of pressure now that was comparable to his friend’s but not at the same level. The difference was his produced a much colder feeling to it with the ground underneath his feet already started to crust over slowly from his innate ability over ice. His body tensed as he prepared for the wave of destruction that would be Theocelese coming for him.
