"I should be able to. I can-," Gage interrupts himself when the orb surges slightly but reaching out with his right hand he was able to 'catch' the energy jutting out of the orb like a solar flare. Pushing it back in he continues. "-I can hold it but releasing it isn't that bad, you just let the orb rupture on one side and it goes off right?" Without waiting for an answer Gage releases his control on one side of the Energy Orb, the resulting beam of energy ripping across the landscape, creating a valley through the sand quickly melted to glass. So much of his attention was on the beam, controlling the release of energy he wasn't watching all sides of the orb, a small flare building in his palm rupturing the orb as a whole.
Gage goes wide eyed, his orb detonating in his left hand, the resulting force splitting his palm tearing his forearm to the elbow and ripping his clothing from mid torso to his hand. Pure concussive force blows him backwards, sending him tumbling end over end, the entirety of his arm missing, most of his shoulder gone and his jacket torn to shreds. "Theo? Theo, are you alright?" Standing up Gage holds his right hand to his shoulder, his fingers digging into what would have been rended flesh and bone but instead was pieces of metal, wire and mechanical pistons. "I thought I had it. I got close though. You saw right?" Now standing with most of his chest bare it would be easy to see the majority of the damage on his body, bullet holes in combination with stitches and massive lacerations from many sword fights that he was severely under skilled for.

And now...a frown. The orb went off, the attention to it wavered and the results were....expected. Theocelese hadn't even tried to move out of the way of being potential collateral damage. In such close proximity, his clothes were torn, tattered and scorched but...the Arrancar himself looked unscathed. The smoke cleared, but through it, the cherry of a cigarette coming to life. "You should be more worried about yourself. You look a little..." Now what was the right word here. "A little...like I would, if I felt particularly risky." He walked towards Gage, hands going to his waist. Had that blast been just a little bit more...destructive, there wouldn't be pants at his waist at all. Thankfully, this was not the case, as Gage would have learned about Theocelese's almost complete lack of shame. Well, in some aspects anyways. "You almost had it. Until it feels natural to do so, keep your focus. Imagine a pot of water boiling pasta. Before the water overflows, you lift it off the burner. Same principle here. You focus your Reiryoku into the palm of your hand. You gather the power and form it--it does not always have to be a ball. It could be...a spear, it could be in the shape of a lightning bolt. A normal Cero usually--yes, forms from a spherical ball of energy. When you feel that tipping point, exhale. Exhale and move forward. Push it out with that exhale....On second thought...maybe it is better for you to try later."

"Yeah," Gage thought it over, if only for the briefest of moments. "We have more interesting things to do right now. No offense to your skills of course." Looking around at the ground the pieces of his arm lay scattered about, mangled and in bits. Raising his right hand he snaps, a green spark of light leaping from his hand into the ground, trailing the sand until it reaches the pieces. Each one individually begins to hover, remolding themselves into their original shapes, reassembling themselves together like a nightmarish jigsaw puzzle. Gage watches, his mind concentrating on the design that he so meticulously drew out for his own replacement limb.
Once reassembled the wires and cables snake out, latching to Gage's shoulder and digging their way into the metallic joint that he had made for them. This injury did pose problems on occasion but it most certainly served a good cause every now and then, being able to be reassembled should major damage be received. Walking over to the now cool steel plate on the ground he place his bare palm against it, feeling the residual warmth. "Well its ready either way so now is the time." Walking back to the cart Gage grabs the beaker of his blood, slowly pouring it into the steel grooves, moving so that it evenly spreads about the design, creating a slow spreading blood alchemical seal. Carefully stepping into the circle he place his phylactery on the small pedestal in the middle, stepping away as he watches the blood settle into its final location. "You ready?"

"None taken. It is not the viability of my skills we are here to test. No offense." A comment made in jest and with a shit-eating grin. Past the painful feeling of spikes being driven into his skull from time to time, the apathetic demeanor and downright cold attitude there was an easy-going man who could roll with the punches. Well, either that or the Arrancar was really damn good at putting a veil over those things. Theocelese followed Gage back to the small ritual arena, but kept his distance. A combination of old faith and superstition left an unease pit in the core of his gut. If someone went wrong with this..."ritual", he didn't want to be near it. For all he knew, this could result in the summoning of daemons or worse, and he didn't the slightest clue how to deal with something like that other than to deal with it the same way he dealt with other violent problems. And that was simply to just be even more violent than the opposition. "What is it you need me to do exactly?" He asked, eyes drifting back to the mechanical arm that--somehow, he hadn't even noticed before. Chalking it up to just a lack of observational skills on his behalf, Theocelese merely shrugged at his own curiosities, but still felt the need to chime in on that matter. "You will have to tell me who or what took your arm. Maybe it is another injustice we can address together."
