"We will, my love." Achilles said softly, the last touch he felt of her was that of her own lips against him and the softness of her cheek and hair that fell against his forearm. Silence came from the Arrancar after that, both able and unable to accept the fact he could no longer touch his own wife. Surprisingly, he remained calm...perhaps he'd perfected this state of rage, or maybe it was despair once again setting in. Either way, the mask of emotionless settled in once more. His body half-turned towards Athena, listening to her and from what she said, a small frown formed on the Arrancar's lips. "Odysseus?" He asked, somewhat startled at the revelation that out of all the souls from the ancient days--THAT one still made it through? Achilles laughed. Not in a demeaning way, but one that signified joy and it became almost riotous. With both hands at his waist, Achilles now turned his attention fully to face the Goddess of Wisdom.
"So that's what you want of me. The other two want paltry things they've always wanted from war. I'd been thinking there was something in mind you wanted, but I could think of nothing. You are not stupid, nor are you focused entirely on one thing. You are praised by more than just the wisest." His hand rose, coming up to his bearded chin to tap at it lightly. "No...It makes plenty sense now...Consider it done. If you have any insight where I may begin looking, please give me at least that." There was no sense of hostility in his voice, and if anything, Achilles seemed more happy and extremely willing to do this task. It didn't take someone with a high brain capacity, or decent knowledge of the old books to understand why. Of all the kings, men and warriors there were only a small handful that the Lion held in a high esteem. The King of Ithaca. "In the fighting days to come...I'll feel much better knowing I'll have a strategist of his caliber on my side." He shot a quick glance to Sophia, gesturing over towards the woman. "My wife will feel much better too." Funny enough that Achilles spoke these words, as Odysseus had spoken nearly the same exact one all those decades ago in Phtia. Then it came to his mind, how would he convince Odysseus to fight, or at the very least, help him?
"Has he retained or remembered any memories at all?" He inquired, though dared not leave from his spot. As much as he wanted to entertain this topic, there was an air of...hurry to it. Truth be told, he wanted the facts and answers here and now. Then, as if to drive to point the home as to why, he turned back to Sophia and smiled. Now only if he'd been told the descendants of the Myrmidon were like sleeper cells, waiting to be awoken to fight for their lord once more...then the Quincy were done for. "Nyx...if you are still there...Athena, Ares, Thanatos, Nemesis and Hades...time is of the essence. I must know when I may begin this assault. Dearest mother, not of my blood," He spoke directly to Nyx in hopes the Goddess still lingered, or could still hear him. "If you can do this, then protect my love. Let not Apollo lay a finger on her, and let all gazes from him result in mind-breaking agony. If you can do this for me, just as the rest of the pantheon I have pledged myself to, I will do whatever you need of me."
"Partly correct little dreamer. Partly correct." She'd say of Sophia's guess. "I think it's more so we can feel profound love for them. The kind that human's equate to heaven." She said wistfully watching Athena and Theocelese speaking to each other. "We gods love our children do not get me wrong. But they are eternal, everlasting. It is hard to truly grasp how much you love something until the possibility, the very real possibility of losing it is a possibility." She said looking sympathetically at Athena. "Our champions, our chose, I dare say because they are mostly mortal, are more loved by their perspective god or goddess like no other. It's a profound feeling, being the most mighty and all powerful of a creature...and not being able to stay what is natural for a mortal."
She'd smile down at Sophia. "And for those like Athena, who had very few sons....a champion...became all to much a very loved child. And I need not tell you the kind of grief loosing a child can do to a heart....even an immortal soul can feel that loss...Tell me dreamer...do YOU sense Athena's king of Ithaca?" Nyx question though it seemed more one of curiosity than of need.
Meanwhile Athena let out another sigh of regret though this one seemed more at Theo's laughter at her misfortune of having to ask him a favor. "If I knew where to look do you think I'd really be asking for your help?" She quipped sounding more than a little embarrassed she'd for a lack of better word lost her favorite little soul.
Athena huffed. "I....I do not know what he remembers or doesn't remember. I only know he doesn't answer to me calling for his name, for his soul. Every-time I do...I can feel Apollo's laughter in the back of my skull." She'd say the last bit through clenched teeth. "I can prove nothing against him because I have nothing to show...." If Theo were to learn anything from this meeting it would be she and the sun god were NOT on good terms. "He has gotten so that even his own twin despises him...."
Shed scoff then look back at Theo. "I can not promise any of my blessing have stuck to a soul who've I've not been able to hold Achilles..." She chidded him a bit. Only to blink as the reborn hero started to address Nyx again.
Nyx's brow quirked at being called mother. And she'd give Sophia another grin considering it fit into that entire conversation they'd been having. "Oh little lion you may count on that and more from this goddess. She'd say and the sun realm began to tremble announcing the arrival of that very sun brat they'd been trying to avoid.
"Achilles..."Athena's eyes widened then with out further prompt the shadow gate began to fade away.
"Oh look...he's having a tantrum..." Nyx said sounding very unimpressed. Something Theo AND Sophia could hear. It would be a sign that she'd indeed help keep Sophia safe.
Sure enough just before the gate would close, Theo would see the sun god storm into....the room as it were. Apollo caught up in his on fury hadn't been expexting to see the reborn hero...even for that short moment, so there'd be surprise on his face but it was quickly replaced by pure rage. "ATHENA!!!" He'd yell thinking it had been her trick, not apparently being privy to Nyx's presence there. But it was all Athena and Theo would be able to hear or see before the veil closed back completely taking any image and other with it.
Apollo's eyes landed immediately on Sophia. He'd take three steps toward her only to find he could go no further. "What..." He'd say as constellations began to weave a tight domed web around Sophia. Something of Nyx's doing no doubt. "Do you really think the SUN is afraid of such parlor tricks?!" He seemed to be accusing Sophia of the protective barrier.
"Pft.."Nyx said once again only to Sophia's ears. "Like the sun isn't a star in itself...even the mortals have figured that out..." She'd roll her eyes as Apollo went to grab at one of the stars only to have his hand both frozen and burned at the same time. "Some kids just never learn..."She'd sigh over his screams of agony. "Take heart dear dreamer. He can no longer harm you here....look closely...and you out of all will be able to help your lion best." She'd make a motion at some of the stars and sure enough Sophia would be able to see face of many people in each and every star. Some she would recognize as Theo's friends. "Use your gift dreamer, guide their sleep, lead them to where they need to be. By your lion's side....help him....set you free." She'd give Sophia a wink. "If you need me....just sleep. I will find you then." The dark goddess would give Sophia a kiss on her head then wisp away just as she'd wisped in...like black silk under water.

WE HAVE GOT THE POWER OF DESTRUCTION YOU CAN ALWAYS LET IT FALL
Sophia's smile was wry in the face of Nyx' praise. She appreciated the thought, but hearing the explanation, she knew it was not so close to the answer as she would have liked. It made far more sense to her...that their chosen mortals would be treasured all the more for their fleeting lives. She knew all too well the importance of treasuring what time is given. Her palms settled lightly over the slight pouchy curve of her belly, over the rough texture of her jeans, remembering the fleeting life that had once grown there, what felt like eons to Sophia. To a being like Nyx, that loss would have certainly seemed as fresh as if it had happened yesterday. She frowned at the goddess' question, recalling that strong association. "I thought of bread, when she said his name. Fresh baked bread. I hadn't remembered the smell of bread in...years. Not that that is any help to anyone." She shrugged.
She was not able to pay much attention to Theo's prayer. A tightness was wrapping around her, a suffocating heat as though hands coiled tightly around her heart. It took her a few moments to recognize the oppressive force as the probing invasion of Apollo's presence. Unprepared for the weight of his spiritual pressure, Sophia bent over, taking deep, steadying breaths. Automatically, she reached out to lay a hand on Nyx' shoulder in warning, but it was not needed. Seconds later her prison shook, trembling with the sun god's rage. Her hand lowered, bracing both palms on her knees, and by the time he made his appearance, she had managed to bring herself to stand upright once again, a feat she had not yet been capable of accomplishing. Up until now, she had sunk to her knees in his presence, incapable of withstanding his power. Now, with grim satisfaction, she found she could not only stand, but toss her head back, staring back at him in open defiance.
She steeled herself as he stormed toward her, her eyes not wavering from his. No longer would he find a cowed and defeated spirit ready for the final death. She had found her hope, and with it came her rage and her determination. A fierce grin lit her face as she realized that Nyx had lent her power yet again, that the golden brat could not come within three paces. "Afraid? Hardly. But perhaps you'll think twice about keeping a lioness caged. You see, we too have claws." Almost as though to give truth to her statement, his attempt to bat away the mesmerizing swirl of shadow and light and planets surrounding her flared a bright shock of white-hot red, icy blue. Her eyes flared to life, an ethereal solid glow of deep aqua, pupil and iris both lost in the flow of energy emanating from her. Her features settled almost serenely, calm in the passive confidence in this newfound power.
She turned to Nyx, a smile on her lips, sharing in the goddess' mirth at Apollo's misfortune, and sharing her reveling joy in these new abilities. "Thank you. It is not nearly enough to express the gratitude I feel. I hope to repay your kindness someday. But for now...I believe I may have a little fun with this." She gestured at the globe of orbiting constellations surrounding her, touched a fingertip almost lovingly to a pinpoint of light. She lifted a palm to rest on the goddess' shoulder as she received her kiss, her blessing, and as the dark silky smoke faded, she turned back to Apollo, arms crossed, feeling a confidence in herself and her power that she had not experienced in what felt like lifetimes. She crossed her arms, eyes narrowed, the flaring glow of power fading slightly as she looked on him with a cool distaste. "No longer will you find me cowed and fearful. I have found my soul again, and, one way or another, I will be leaving this prison."
JUST ABOUT A MILLION WAYS TO HARM YOU ALL THE THINGS I SHOULDN'T SAY
He'd listened to Athena tell him what she knew, processing this information as fast as it came to him, but like a child hyped up on too much sugar, his attention wavered. He felt the presence of Apollo, even through this little two-way mirror conjured up by the immortal gods. For that briefest of moments, the Arrancar's own Reiatsu flared. Uncontrollable torrents of black and purple swirled together like an maelstrom in the midst of a storm. He punched at the mirror, finding it not effective and so...he did it again. Had the ability to pass through onto this temporary prison his wife remained in, Achilles would have done so. Ill-prepared, and caring not of his own well being just to get at the prick of a god's throat. Perhaps both of them were fortunate this was not possible. And then...just like that, the gateway closed, yet the Arrancar's power still surged. The mere presence and sight of the Sun God, enough to set him off like an unstable cannon. He stood there in contemplative silence...and just as if the emanating power was a candle, the torrential outburst was snuffed. Achilles breathed deep. Whatever humor graced his thoughts before were now gone.
"It would appear the golden one has toyed with us both, it seems." He spoke quietly, turning to face Athena once more. "Worry not, Athena. I will find Odysseus of the both of us...but you know what weighs heavily in my heart." He paused briefly, almost adding in a 'or lack there of'. "You have given me the location, but I know a location is merely a place. What tricks are waiting for me, if any? What stars must be aligned for a weakness into that place to open?" He was referring to his assault upon Apollo's realm now. If Athena thought for a moment there was any other option for Achilles, she was crazier than a majority of the humans in this realm. Then he remembered what Sophia said earlier, and with a slightly childish huff, walked before the goddess. At first, the drawing of his blade looked to be something of hostile intentions, but it would have been the moment the man moved once again to his knees, the sword placed in front of him.
"Forgive my transgressions, Wise Athena. I was not laughing at you earlier. I was elated to hear the King of Ithaca still at least lives. Of all people who can You know I am quick to temper, even more so now these days. Help me do what I cannot do on my own." He felt something...odd in his belt, but made no mention of it or let his eyes give away something was amiss. "Once Sophia is safely in my arms, I will find my old friend. I swear this oath to you, here and now." Athena knew the Arrancar to not be one to break oaths, especially when so much was on the line for him.
"Bread hm?" Nyx said with a strange smile. Ah the girl's power was growing quickly already. "Follow that scent, in your dreams, in your waking meditations, reach out for it and then teach your lion to crave it like he's craved no other food." Nyx gave a little guidance before the kiss and leaving
Apollo's rage could be felt, ultraviolet heat from a golden god. "well little lioness it will be your pelt I wear on my lap once this trick of yours plays out. This is MY realm mortal. You will not stay me for long." He sounded so sure of himself. Then as quickly as the harm had happened his had was healing. "For in here. I am all. Athena's magic may have found a window but only my power can unlock the doors completely." Oh hubris was a terrible thing he'd come to find out. "Soul found or not...you will be forever mine and he will forever be in misery. Athena too will never find her champion now. I'd plan on returning him for a small favor but now. No I may give him to Poseidon for a play thing..." There was something in the way he said the word him. Like maybe it was his own private little joke.
Athena too seemed to prickle at Apollo's presence. Though once the Achilles reborn began his own personal special effects show she seemed to slip back into that stoic facade that adorned all her shrines. Athena, for a moment, felt a strange kinship with the arrancar. Bah she was going soft. One slender brow quirked skyward as he knelt and even then she could feel a strange surge of power from him. She'd sigh as he spoke. "I am afraid your old friend may be the key to your beloved." Athena said somberly.
"I am afraid those answers are hidden from even my sight," She'd go on to explain. "It is taken a very large toll to keep them both hidden though, of this I am sure. If you find Odysseus, you may be able to use what ever spell Apollo has him under against him." She said. "What ever this curse is affects my sight most. I suggest you search your allies Theocelese. See if one of them has any way to track a reborn soul..."
As she spoke she'd bend and open a hand she'd held clenched the entire time of the meeting palm up and open for him to take what was with in. "Here, the only thing left I have in connection with the Ithaca king." It was a branch, not even a branch, more like a twig really."A small offering he made to me in his youth, a branch from an olive tree he'd hewn to carve his bed...." She'd explain eyeing Theo once he took it. "I DO expect that back...." She made sure to tell him. "Unharmed..."

Mirror, mirror on the wall I'll make sure you crack and fall I made strides don't call me sweet Chaos organizes me
With Nyx's advice at the fore of her mind, Sophia faced down the god as the other faded from her sight. Looking on the petulant god in his childish rage, she could not at all see how she had once gone in fear of such a creature. The radiating waves of his rage washed over her, but far from banking the power emanating from her, it seemed to make it pulse all the more powerful, the tiny pinpoints of starlight pulsing in unison. "Funny, I thought it was Ares who wore aspired to the skins of his enemies. You were supposed to be more fond of music and poetry. Well, I suppose humans tend to emanate their betters, it only makes sense for the same to be true of a god."
Her nostrils flared ever so slightly at his next words, disguising the snort of derision she so longed to let loose. "Yes, to be sure. In the realm of the great and wise Apollo, all bend to his will and quake to behold his might and power. Very well. I tremble in your presence, and yield to your boundless eminence. You may consider me well and truly subdued." The depths of her words dripped with sarcasm to those who troubled to know the first thing about her, but on the surface the words had the flat and conciliatory tone of the best honey-tongued politicians, concealing the deprecating emotion to all but the best-trained ears. She swept into a low bow with a flourish, which a more suspicious man might suppose was not entirely genuine.
"Great and mighty lord, if I might be so bold as to beg the boon of sustenance from your mighty lordship I would find myself supremely in your debt. I surely need not remind your supreme intelligence of such a basic necessity for one so low as myself." Though she lived not, still she grew hungry. And often. With her newly awakened power, she knew the gnawing hunger would only grow more. She would have to be careful. Extremely careful.
She stood calmly, waiting, knowing the longer she stood quiet, the angrier he was like to get. Her arms stayed crossed, though no trace of her earlier defiance showed in her face, neither did the slowly revolving celestial bodies fade or change. Indeed, the myriad of stars sparkled merrily, almost as though in open mockery of the god and his anger. Like the stalking lioness, Sophia waited, infinitely patient, for the god to make his next move, whether it be to charge in heedless and savage her in spite of her protections, or to back away. It would seem she had work to do, and sleep and meditation was top on the list. But first, she would see this schoolyard bully out of her sanctuary.
I'd rather spend it all So you can see What freedom's really worth to me One, two, three
One wouldn't think of softness and caring when the name Achilles was mentioned. Words more like hero, unkillable, unfathomable rage, and heel would most likely be brought up. Yet as evidence, the scenes that played before Athena proved there was a clash of personality. Who this man was once born as lived, died and was reborn in half a century not knowing the truth to his identity. There would always be internal conflict in his mind, especially when it came to dealing with the ever-burning inferno in his breast. It would, and always continue to be a constant battle against...but maybe, once husband and wife were reunited, love would return to smother the rage. One of the few graceful things Achilles now showed he was adept at was carefulness to something held in his hand. It was once a baby, multiple if others besides his own were taken into account, but now it was this little twig given from Odysseus, to Athena, and now to him. "I understand, Athena." He said, fingers closing gently over it. "I will not be the one to return it to you, though." The implication was laid out flat for the Goddess, and he smiled. With his other hand, he picked up the resting blade to return it home. He stood once more, now silent. Not because he had nothing else to say, but because there was nothing else to say at all other than a temporary goodbye.
"I will find him, Athena." The only five words parted from his lips these past few minutes. He gave a respectful nod to Ares and Thanatos before turning to head back down the mountain path.
Apollo seethed for many moments and hurled more than a few curses Sophia's way. But then he'd slowly calm himself. No mortal came into this sort of power on their own so quickly. Where had she grown them from? Her teasing had meant to derail him and he knew that now. Athena didn't have such ways. No only the night belonged to.....The golden god went palled. Surely not. Why in all that was and were to be would she get involved.... He'd planned on staying Athena's hand of involvement by taking her favorite little soul but....hmm Maybe that wasn't Athena at all Achilles had been speaking to....The shadows were known for their tricks after all.
It would seem to Sophia that the heat was beginning to cool as his silent thoughts passed by, cooling with a sudden new caution.
Now this WAS a problem. Apollo walked around Sophia's dome of power etching the workings of it into his mind. Yes, a very big problem. He'd have to prepare better. "It was a good act girl...but I now know who to expect and will prepare for such." For a sun god....he couldn't have sounded more cold.
"I hope you've placed your fate in the right hands...." He'd smile ever so warmly and kindly at Sophia. "I will not be so quick to let down my guards again...Now if you'll excuse me...I've got souls to mind and power to gain."
Yes Apollo knew now what was coming for him. And he wasn't too arrogant to NOT prepare. "you'll be fed when the servants feel like it." He'd wave her off with a hand before turning and leaving out of the bright realm with a glimmer of heat.
