This man had walked upon the solitude and alone thoughts of Satoshi, imposed a random display of dominance which was then followed by an apology. All of this had turned into a series of questions of which the man had wanted from Satoshi in the first place, and then tells him that his entire point of view is practically the worst possible view to have. Then..And only then..Satoshi witnessed Hidane attempt to walk away from him as if he had any sort of right to disrespect the honor of respecting someone's point of view and hearing them out. Even if he himself had seemed naturally bent on being evil, he had no intention of doing anything that wasn't necessary. The simple truth is, the fact the Onyx haired man walked away without regard of his meaning or contemplation of his deep words. For all the 'evil' Hidane had seen in the Silvered vizard's words, he himself hadn't the good in him to give him the benifit of the doubt and listen further. Un-acceptable.
Any man who wanted to keep their arm would never even attempt to approach someone who had the ability to wipe it from existance, but he was not just any man. With a sound of in-door wind, Satoshi utilized his flash-step to approach the leaving figure with increased speed. He had no idea how fast this man was, but he hadn't cared at that particular moment. He was going to learn the hypocricy of such self-righteousness, that which seems to be no different then the Soul Society.
Coming out of his flash-step, Satoshi whizzed into existance within reaching distance of Hidane when his velocity had been concluded. His right hand reached out for the other Vizard's shoulder. At that moment, white maskk material had slowly begun creeping onto the facial flesh of Satoshi's head, radiating into his right eyeball which turned into a black and yellow cat's eye. 'You will understand' was the only thought that rang through his head. Fully aware his emotions were now able to control him any time he wanted, yet there was nothing in his body that had any ounce of shits. And something about knowing he didn't care about losing it, had kept him in control.
"You-...I really...REALLY- find myself despising when people seem to..misunderstand yet act like they know my words. But the true vulgar action involved with that, is believing you can walk away like this conversation was anywhere near finished. I frankly don't give a frocking fuck how inclined you are towards your own opinion, you don't get to tell me mine is wrong without even knowing truly understanding its meaning."
His mask had fragmented back into the air as he relaxed
"These world's..they smell of nothing but sweat and filth. The very air is-..." He sniffs it dramatically
"Filled with the grime of hate, yet what we lack is not the in-ability to change it. It's simply because we cannot overcome our own sense of self control."
His hands and head lowered...a droplet touching the floor.
"Before creation, comes destruction....I lost my very purpose in life before I became a Soul Reaper, and in becoming one I had found my purpose again. But it was not to serve the people who had come to form my decision. Rather, it was to make them come to a realization that things cannot be forced simply through force alone."
His hand came up slowly, his golden eyes glared at them in disgust of his own tainted, but necessary existance.
"I promise you I have no intent of doing anything that isn't fundamentally necessary for change. The thing that people do not realize, is that change cannot come from nothing. I do not wish to kill, I do not wish to maime anything. It is built into my bones by something I could never help, but was always necessary. My dark tendencies are not something I would ever wish upon anyone, but I rest a bit easier at night knowing that some of things that are required in this life cannot be completed by someone with a weak will such as mine. My strong will does not come from me...It comes from within"
"I wish to help everyone. A world where nobody ever has to know the pain of suffering without then knowing the bliss of oppurtunity. A world where all these...Races and creatures I have come across do not have a source of fear from something that isn't supposed to be associated with an emotion an all. We Shinigami are supposed to be soldiers of souls fixing and correcting the mistakes of others. Not changing and altering the world to be making those mistakes ourselves."
"My friends had been killed for discovering the true nature of the Soul Society's actions, and that had revealed to me that they would rather trade safety for freedom. And those who would do that deserve neither."
"I want good things, Hidane Koga. And I really don't care that we are alike. I can assure you that your sudden appearance did not give me a sudden need to live up to your expectations as a person. But know two things: One, I had never said or assumed you were going to act alone, so what magical hat you pulled that from..I would LOVE to know. If anything that's what it sounds like you think I myself am doing. But even more importantly, two. And that is that even you have to realize that things cannot change without the proper push. What your definition of push is, I'm not going to discuss with you. But regardless "Push" is what comes to mind. I intend to change these worlds, Koga. And I intend to do it for the better. Whether people see it that way, I doubt it. All I know is that there needs to be change. And it needs to happen soon."
Just as he was about to use his Sonido to move out of the area, the silver-haired man’s own Shunpo brought him closer, a hand falling to grasp the onyx-haired Visored’s shoulder. As if a beat on a drum, the touch seemed to shake the Visored to his very core as he felt the darkness rushing from within, screaming with every ounce of his being with just one word: ‘Kill.’ His skin turned pale, a blackness creeping into his eyes as he thought about it; it would be so easy. All he need to do was turn, a quick draw of Kurosenko from his side and a slash, and it would be over. He would wipe this smear of a being from this world, to be reborn anew in the Rukongai, perhaps to lead a better life. He’d probably take out most of the building with the man, but what was an abandoned warehouse to the well-being of the worlds he sought to bring into a new age of peace and prosperity?
But the silver-haired man did not mean to attack, it appeared, and Hidane let out a deep sigh, color returning to his skin as he turned to look at his fellow Visored, the last strands of blackness receding to the edges of his eyes.
He took the man’s words in; yes, perhaps he had assumed much, and perhaps misunderstood some of what the man had said. But his mannerisms, the words… at the core, regardless of how this man justified it or what words he overlapped with each other to try to make it sound better, were the same. This man was unstable, and he had a feeling this man’s definition of ‘necessary’ likely strayed very far from his own. It was both reassuring and worrisome, too, that the man said he was not planning on working alone in his endeavors to change the way things were; he would not fall into solitary madness, perhaps, but the idea of there being others who were also such potential dangers was a thought to keep in mind.
“Perhaps I have misunderstood you, somewhat, then. My apologies.”
As Satoshi’s hand fell, Hidane would walk back out into the alley and turn to face the man. He looked about; there were people walking the streets, and two cats fighting over scraps further into the alley. Life moved, constantly, in this world, ebbing and flowing like an eternal wellspring of progress and achievement.
“These worlds may wreak of sweat and filth, but is that not a result of the life that flows through each moment of each day? In this world, in Soul Society, in Hueco Mundo, and any other worlds that may exist beyond our comprehension, life continues to move on. We are all trapped in this never-ending war; some choose to fight… some don’t want to… some couldn’t even if they wanted to, if they even knew it existed. I aim to protect every single one of those lives, no matter who or what they are.” He paused for a moment, letting out a sigh. “You said our ideas of a ‘push’ weren’t up for discussion, but you will hear mine anyway. I and those who share my outlook will come together, and protect those hunted for their very being, and we will show all those who look down upon us that there is more to these worlds than the lies that are drilled into their heads.”
“A future by blood and fire is no future at all; the only true change is one that comes of their own volition. Slaughtering anyone who disagrees isn’t progress; it is only birthing more war from the ends of others.” His right hand fell to Kurosenko’s hilt, and he slid only an inch of her midnight-black blade out from the sheath. “That is not to say I will not shed blood for this cause. If there are those whose minds cannot be opened, those who would oppose our freedom and lives to their very core, I… we… will do what we must.” He let his Zanpakuto fall back fully into her sheath.
“So tell me, Satoshi Yamada… how would you change the world, then?”
Satoshi's face of anger had looked up, and lit with pure surprise as he saw the other Vizard's own anger. The energy shift that had come off him had completely begin to de-stabilize his own actions. 'I see' He thought to himself as his eyes gazed upon the anger Hidane displayed. It was then clear to Satoshi, this man was just as self righteous as he was. There was no 'difference' in them besides how they viewed the world. This man would tear down anything that questions him if it were required of his task. The only difference was, he tries to cover it with a sense of morality. His actions displayed that of a soldier, so withdrawn but ready to perform his task at a moments notice. His face shifted back into his serious face as he gathered his thoughts back to focus on the situation.
"I had remembered when Captain Tousen himself regarded bloodshed as completely unnecessary. I still recall when Komamura himself used to talk about how much of a good man he was...Until Tousen himself chose a path of nothing but complete rivers of blood. But that isn't my point. And you continue to assume even beyond the point of apologizing for it...Twice. Bloodshed is never simplified into a good thing, no. But you yourself would do so at a moments notice, and do not deny it. You would use that very blade you carry to strike down someone if necessary, you said it yourself. This is not to say I am justifying doing it myself. I am saying that you cannot accuse me of such action when I'm sure you've had one hell of your own fair share 'friend'. I cannot say that I am any better then any beast out there, Hidane Koga. But so far, I've seen no evidence that you're any different. I've helped people before when I didn't have to, and I never once necessarily enjoyed or hated it. I felt it out of necessity because sometimes, some lives do deserve a chance. Just like mine did..." He inhaled to calm himself, and exhaled slowly.
"You ask me these questions, I answer. But you continue to seem to show superficiality toward every point I make, so I will make it as clear as I can."
The man had reached into his coat pocket and pulled out three separate objects. A folded note, a black business card, and an enchanted coin.
"These are three individuals who despite knowing my true personality, have managed to see my true intent in wanting to fix these worlds. This note-"
He places the note in his other hand, waving it twice.
"Is from a renegade Shinigami who disregards their actions because of their instability as a community. He believes he cannot function in a society where they cannot function themselves."
He tossed the coin into his left hand where his note was held.
"This coin was given to me by...An Arrancar. An engineer who creates different things for infinite purposes. When I wasn't a Vizard, I had actually met this lady on patrol. And despite having every intent to kill her while expecting her to be the same, she did nothing. So to my own surprise, I did nothing. We talked and finally concluded that there was more room to expand upon our horizons."
He then waved the black card in his right hand.
"The one-armed fullbringer..I'm sure by now you get my point." He put the items back into his coat
"All three of these things are signs that people can show true contemplation toward someone else's true wishes in the world. All three of these individuals shared common goals with me in this world, and so we discussed. And all three of these people, I can guarantee you, are by no means evil. How do I want to change the world you ask? With everybody involved, Mr.Koga. I've never been given the light of day to truly show my capacity to change this world for the better. I have never spoken these words before...Because I know you are a man with a vision just as strong as I, much stronger even. As you clearly have knowledge of things I do not, but it seems you do not have the sight to see that I am not someone who seeks change out of nothing but destruction. Destruction is not just simply making things die, Hidane. How does one allow a forest to live free of a wild-fire? They destroy the dead-brush that covers the ground that eventually piles up unnecessarily. But I do not plan to cause oblivion."
Hidane stood calmly in the alleyway, taking in and assessing Satoshi’s words as he spoke. He wasn’t quite sure what to think of this man… his initial impression of him simply being a bloodthirsty madman was certainly incorrect, and he felt truly apologetic for coming to that conclusion, even more so for making it heard… but at the same time the onyx-haired Visored still felt uneasy about him. He spoke of wanting to unify all, to bring peace, to change not through bloodshed and destruction; but everything he spoke suggested there would be no hesitance in his mind if he were to ‘need’ to use such methods. While they both spoke of putting an end to those who were necessary to in order to bring about this new world, it felt like there was a fundamental difference between their viewpoints.
What Satoshi spoke of was digging up the very roots the Soul Society, and whoever else might stand in their way, stood upon, and changing it. He spoke of killing as simply an inevitability, and it seemed to Hidane he would have little to no regret in the action of it, no matter how much he justified it.
Hidane, however, saw it as an unfortunate necessity that he hoped would end up not being as necessary as it seemed. It would be naïve to think there would ever be a time in these worlds where those who wished to keep the old ways would simply see reason and change, but it was unlikely. But Hidane didn’t want to flip the world upside down on those who disagreed with; he wanted to bring as many as he could to his side, and change things from the inside out.
“I am not going to claim that my hands are clean, or ever have been.” Hidane spoke only after Satoshi had finished all of his speeches then. “I have killed many; Hollow, mostly, but others as well when I deemed it ‘necessary’ at the time. My hands are far from clean, and they never shall be, even if I were to try to wash the unseen stains of blood long dried from these hands of mine. But they remain, and though I may be the only one to ever see them with my own eyes, they are a reminder of what I hope to never become again. This darkness inside of me pulls at me every moment of every day, and yet I fight it still. I will not become it, not completely. It is me, or a part of me if nothing less, but I am not it.”
“Greater things are in the works, unseen to your eyes or mine. Someday soon, change is coming… war, perhaps even. I wish it were not so, but such is beyond my power to change or stop.” He turned towards the open street beyond the alley. “I wonder where you’ll find yourself in the battles to come?” It was an odd direction to take the conversation in, but he held such information, even if it was only very limited as he knew very little himself, and he figured he should spread it to whomever he could. There was no telling what exactly was coming… but the time to prepare was now, if not already long past. “Well, I did offer that you could ask any questions you have… so if you have more to ask, I ought to be off soon enough.”
He wasn’t sure what this Satoshi’s true aim was. He seemed unstable… more so, possibly far more so, than he himself was at times… but the words he spun were acceptable enough, though he was still wary of them. He spoke of wanting to bring about the right kind of change, maybe a bit more forcefully than he liked, but in the same lines of speech he spoke of a dark nature that would only bring ruin if truly brought forth. The onyx-haired Visored wondered which path the silver-haired man would follow, and, if their paths crossed again… would it be to fight side by side, or to clash blades against each other?
This man really had one hellavah' busy schedule with how many times he's tried to peace the fuck out. How could he have possibly redirected his priorities from trying to make him submit, to then attempting to walk away twice now? It seemed unbelievably ill-mannered...What was the point of this entire thing? He had to wonder that for himself. And this man was just going to walk away after talking all of that? These were the kind of people that give the world such lack of development. He needed to realize that doing nothing about an inevitable war is just as bad as participating in it. So he might as well choose the path that leads to greater good of existance.
"We all have our Demons. Learning to cope or learning to dominate is all we can do as creatures of darkness. But as creatures who fight for the existence of both light and dark, we can do much more. If after you go, I do hope you consider the possibility of aligning yourself with my fellow colleagues, that way we can have a proper discussion of the next moves to come in this so called 'war'. It's truly up to you, Hidane. You can follow your own path of fixing the balance, but it can never be done alone just like you said. Alone or not, I know you could always use helping hands. If you don't trust me? That's fine, I never asked you to trust me, or put faith into any of the words I tell you. But know that my intentions have always been toward that of the wishes of everyone, whether using 'necessary' action's or not."
He faced the other man.
"I only have one question, Mr. Koga. You seem to have a grasp on the aspects of harnessing this ability for yourself. Would it be too beyond your scope of 'curiosity' to grant me to do the same?
Wait, so… Satoshi didn’t even know how to draw out his mask, or his Hollow powers? Thinking back, it had never been explicitly explained to Hidane either. How he’d come to the conclusion of it… perhaps it was because he’d seen a Visored in action before, and put two and two together. However, for someone who had simply… woken up with said power… perhaps it wasn’t such a simple conclusion to come to. Perhaps that was even why Satoshi even seemed to be struggling with the stability of his powers. If he’d never let it out, perhaps the Hollow’s energies were building up too much and causing an imbalance. A smirk came across the Visored’s face. He’d gotten the answer to his first question after all.
“It’s actually rather simple, really,” Hidane began, holding up his left hand and looking at it momentarily, “I’m sure you’ve felt the darkness creeping inside of you? Perhaps it’s even what you appeared to have been struggling with when I first came across you. You simply draw from that darkness… infuse it with your Reiryoku…” He brought his hand nearer to his face, as though clutching something directly before his eyes. “…and draw it towards your face, to form the Hollow’s mask from that darkness…” dark blue and black Reiryoku seemed to form in the air and converge over Hidane’s face, forming the base form of his mask. He kept it from reaching further; no need to show a stranger how far his powers reached. “…like so. More advanced… practitioners… don’t need to use their hand, or any other physical indication for that matter, to guide the process, but it’s a good starting point.”
Silver irises stared down the silver-haired man before him through the eye sockets of the mask, horns and shimmering lines of blue and purple inscribed all across it. No malice was held in these eyes; only curiosity at what was to come of this.
He most likely didn't elaborate on the subject of the matter enough. When he had asked Hidane, it appeared to have sounded like he asked him how to draw it out...No, that was not quite the issue at hand. Simply just by giving into his emotions, his mask would dawn on its own while he blacked out. But never once upon waking up had he encountered himself in a fully hollowfied form. That was how he knew he must have been different from the norm of regular hollowfication.
"Well, not quite what I meant. You see... In technicality I can draw on the mask, yes. But every time I do, I cannot seem to draw on my power to form abilities as well as I could with just my regular Reiryoku." The man spoke with a tone of frustration, knowing that something about the hollow nature of the energy he receives being different in Shinigami terms. Drawing from his own power doesn't seem to work quite the same way as drawing from his hollow's power to perform techniques.
He knew that this man was probably one of those, 'advanced practitioners' he was speaking of. Just the way he donned the mask in such a casual way whilst describing it, it was quite the example. With this in mind, he thought it would best to learn how to draw from the power, not just form it.
"Not only that, but I cannot control my actions nearly as well as I can when I'm off the mask.. I have to take that into account when I'm in... Delicate situations."
Hidane was taken aback slightly when it was pointed out that Satoshi wasn’t asking how to use one’s mask. The mask on his own face shattered instantly, dissolving into the air, but the blackness in his eyes and the silver irises remained. So it was utilizing his powers beyond the mask that was difficult for the silver-haired Visored. That, however… that was yet another thing he’d never encountered problems with himself, nor heard of problems with, thus it was quite difficult for him to advise him on solutions for the problem. Even so, he went forward and responded with the most adequate advice that came to mind.
“Unfortunately, I can’t say that I or, as far as I know, any others of our kind have experienced problems like that with our Hollows’ powers.” His eyes faded back to their normal states. “All I can think of is that perhaps it’s due to your… unique… situation. For most of us, there is a point before we fully come into our powers where we struggle with our Hollow, our darkness, for dominance. Those of us who come out on top in that struggle gain the powers of a Hollow, and utilizing them seems to come naturally.” He nodded, a simple gesture, towards Satoshi. “Perhaps, due to not having that struggle, your Hollow powers are still imbalanced, and not so easily utilized. I’d say with time it would sort itself out, but since yours is a rather new and confusing case, I can’t guarantee that.
My only suggestion would be to confront the Hollow within. You could wait around forever for things to even out on their own, but there is no guarantee there.” He wasn’t sure what doing such would entail for Satoshi; would it be an all-out battle like the rest of his kind dealt with? Or would it be a more stable, test-like situation as he experienced several times with Kurosenko to master his Resurreccion state? A question that the onyx-haired Visored would likely as not never learn the answer to. “My apologies that I’m not much help for your situation.”
EEverything about this man before him would suggest that he was no more 'experienced' about anything then Satoshi was himself. It seemed he had a greater grasp of power, but that was as far as it went. He couldn't but feel a bit of disappointment at the showboating this man put off, but it wasn't going to do any good trying to wonder why people do what they do.
Sheep will be sheep. Hidane, the Vizard with enough power to put Satoshi to his knees, hadn't enough knowledge to actually explain how he could harness the power. With the other man's constant need to seem to try and leave, he hadn't expected to get much off of a man with a lack of muse. But he would be lying to himself if he said he didn't feel a bit relieved with the theory of 'why' he was how he was. Though it's not like it didn't give him a lot more questions anywhere near it gave him actual answers.
His black trench coat filled the room with a sound of movement as he shifted his body to turn toward him. His facial expression matched his inner thoughts which portrayed a sense of grim acceptance of the situation.
"That's disappointing... But expected." He admitted. Even when he had met the Fullbringer named "Gage", he himself seemed to have a much more extended knowledge of the entire process even though he quite humorously had never even come into full contact a Vizard, let-alone see a transformation. Yet on top of all of that, he had a surprising amount of experience that even rubbed Satoshi the wrong way. And people didn't usually rub him the wrong way.
Barely a moment passed after he spoke, his thought process ending almost as fast as it started. The day had started to shift towards night at an accelerated, dusk filling the air.
"In all honesty Mr Koga, I wasn't expecting to meet anyone today at all. But you shouldn't be apologizing, friend. If anything we should both be more inclined to become more informed on the actual information involved with this. But something tells me you wouldn't be the type of man to be very... Interested In the statistics. But I will not lie when I tell you, your words today will not be forgotten or lost. Not that it matters to you.. You seem to have your own world-scale agenda, no?"
He chuckled, taking a few steps toward Hidane.
"I do not blame you for leaving of disinterest to certain things, Hidane. But I do give you my word as a man, a Shinigami, and now a Vizard. Things will change for the better, and your voice, as all of those things, will never ceased to be heard and taken into consideration for every action against opposition of inter-dimensional peace. Alas'... I understand the need to be on the move. Things you never think would happen, happen here. Sometimes its not always the best to stay in those situations, and sometimes there's no other choice but to join in. But I'd like to think of myself as a third option. What kind of option you think it would be, that's up to your current perception until you get more involved I suppose."
Turning his body halfway in the opposite direction, he glanced ahead of him.
"It's been interesting and ironically dull. Chou', fellow enemy number one."
Onyx hair swayed in front of mismatched eyes as he simply stood in silence, watching as the other Visored made his parting remarks. And just like that, he was gone. Hidane breathed a deep sigh of relief; why though? Thinking on it, perhaps he truly had jumped to conclusions about the man. Yes, his first impression upon seeing his movements before announcing him had suggested some lack of stability… yes, some of his choices of words and phrases were concerning… but was he one to talk? He was a living monster himself, and only weeks before his own lack of self-control had nearly leveled several blocks of Karakura Town. And yet here he was judging someone he knew nothing about, and repeatedly brushing him off.
Smooth.
Kurosenko’s voice pierced the dull silence in a sarcastic and intimidating manner, but the single word rang true in its tone; if he’d had the chance, he would apologize for being so disinterested. Perhaps there was more to collaborating with this Visored, though he wouldn’t dwell on it now. If his intentions were true, then in all likeliness they would meet again in the future, and hopefully he was right in hoping that they would be on the same side. But there was no telling what the future held… for either of them.
Just two fellow enemy number one’s, trying to change how the world works. What could go wrong with that?
Sometimes he really wished Kurosenko would just shut up.
