Grey stood in front of the ashen creature in the middle of the vast whiteness of the sudden mist that had enveloped the whole rooftop; a treacherous obstacle to say the least since it made it difficult to check one’s footing and increased the risk of taking a misstep and fall down to one’s death. Nevertheless, the Inquisitor took his battle stance that mixed the traditional English Boxing and Chinese Kenpo. The young man’s arms were tucked in and his feet were both bent while his dominant right foot was positioned forward so as to facilitate quick dodges and initiate charged attacks quickly and fluidly, all the while maintaining a central core in order to launch rapid counterstrikes in case his enemy were to let itself slip mid-fight.
Complimentary to the style he had chosen to use against the monster, Grey’s fists were balled while they covered his face in a defensive manner. While he knew that he did not need to since he could sense the immaturity in the creature’s open stance and the superior craftsmanship of his armor set, he needed his stance to be absolutely flawless because, more than anything, this would serve as his first real test of mettle beyond the Hollow-slaying and occasional brawl and skirmish here and there.
With a swift and powerful push with his left leg, Grey lunged at the ashen beast and began to assault it with a myriad of kicks and punches all aimed to cripple or keel his target over. He started off with an axe kick, but the creature simply swatted that away before countering with its own knife-hand thrust aimed at the young man’s groin area. The Inquisitor quickly disengaged when he saw this oncoming attack by twisting his body to one side so that he would cause it to spin off.
While in mid-spin, Grey shifted his body weight to his core which effectively stabilized his aerial movement. Once his form was stable in the wind, he pulled his arms up and over himself thus causing his entire body to flip over backwards into a somersault before landing on his feet, smirking as he did. The creature itself did no such gesture and instead simply stood like an immobile statue where the only movement from it came from the hissed breaths it exhaled in the cold night.
In the instant the entity finished its breath, Grey’s body shone with the silver light of the moon while his face held an even more menacing look from behind his mask with the appearance of animalistic two-toned eyes and an agape mouth hungering for more combat. Unable to quell his desire any longer, Grey pushed off and rocketed towards the creature only to tuck in his arms and shifted his shoulders at the last moment to alter his trajectory a little, and shoot past the monster’s lower left-hand side just beside his foot.
Despite the fact that, from what he had gotten from the meager information Urahara had supplied to him prior his encounter, this being was supposed to be a god-like entity Capable of replicating any manner of power it chose fit to arm itself with. However, from the performance it managed to elicit, he did not specify what the exact limit of strength it could cajole from whatever arcane repository it stored its strength in. and as such Grey felt somewhat disappointed that the creature itself showed none of the intended strength it had expected it to possess.
It was evident in the way he moved in his fight – from his own quiet grace, to his vicious and calculated attacks – when compared to the supposedly monstrously powerful creature’s clumsy movements which held no room for the imagination that all it had was raw and unrefined power, it was as clear as day that it would have no chance against Grey in this fight. Nevertheless, he still wondered as to the reason why the blonde shopkeeper said that he was ‘the right kind of baked’ – whatever that meant.
While it took him over two months to learn the interplay of body and mind in his combat training at the Academia Imperialis, at the very least, he was now able to do so his action moves with relative ease after repeated attempts which ended up getting him beaten back of pummeled to the ground by his instructors. Back in the early stages of the fight, while he was being treated like a rag doll, he did not once give up as with each passing day he tried, failed, then tried again, knowing that one day he would be able to get past his current limit as he already did. Now it was time to show the creature the proof of his strength in kind.
In the process of his pseudo-training derived from his various escapades prior to arriving to the scene of the monster’s appearance, Grey’s body grew accustomed to this higher-than-normal beating it took and was seemingly able to read more and more of his own movements with ease with every second he had done so. Maybe it was the feeling of pushing one’s body to the limit despite having fought Hollow, humans, and the mafia; or maybe it was the suit he wore, but there was no denying the fact that Grey felt good. All that was left now was to prove to himself that he can grasp the pebble from the master’s hand.
0.277 seconds – it was the time it normally takes for an experienced fighter to react, though at the creature’s pitiful level of physical mastery. While the young man considered that it would be able to react to that at a much faster rate than before considering that it had yet to show any power that would merit Urahara’s concern over its existence, the reason why he suddenly changed his course and went down to the entity’s left-hand side was so he could take advantage of the slightly longer period by which it would process its movements. That split-second gap was all he would need to lay in his killing blow and avenge those who had been affected by its rampage.
Grey smashed his armored fist into the creature’s left ribcage which sent a jolt of pain made apparent when the monster screeched in pain. Not wanting to waste this chance, he continued to unleash a vicious barrage of fast jabs and punishing straights against the creature before ending the combo with a bone-shattering forty-five kick which sent the heavily battered entity flying off the roof of the hotel. This was just the beginning, however, and with a flick of his wrist, Grey disengaged his armored Raizer suit and leaped off the building following the monster.
With the force of a bullet train, the Inquisitor crushed his fist into the ashen beast’s torso and sent her down to the ground with more momentum than gravity itself could muster before its rapid descent was stopped by fleshy appendages which pulled up the monster back to Grey’s melee just as the young man sent it down once more with another kick to the torso, the process repeated several times with the unfortunate entity having been treated like a yo-yo. It was only after a few minutes of pure sadistic pleasure did Grey, having grown tired of playing with his prey, decide to end the fight for good in fitting style.
With the last flick of his wrist, Grey called back his modified appendages and the mechanism in his watch whirred to life and set forth the Raizer’s armored form once more. For the last time he had planned, the Inquisitor pushed off the side of the hotel’s stone wall and shot out like a bullet towards his mark and intercepted the creature’s airborne body with a powerful side-kick strong enough for his armored boot to tear through the creature’s torso. With the kick having connected, he immediately used its body as a stepping board to position himself above his target and in place for his fight-ending blow.
With a mighty reel of his right hand, Grey drove his fist down and struck the entity’s face with such force that its features had receded back into its skull. Its seemingly lifeless body hurtled like a thrown doll onto to the ground and slammed against it with such force that it knocked the zanpakutō loose from its hand. Then, if only to add icing to the victory cake, the young man purposely landed onto the creature’s torso to drive it further into the ground, the suit’s living units absorbing most of the kinetic energy from the fall and effectively transferring it and more back into the ground which caused a crater to form beneath the seemingly dead creature and Grey.

Kisuke couldn’t help but be impressed by the boy’s performance. He only wanted him to gather substantial data on the threat at hand in order to obtain a working assessment on the danger level of the entities. Never in his dreams did he expect Grey to be able to not only accomplish his mission to obtain significant data on the enemy but also managed to pulverize one to such a degree that the creature was literally forced to regenerate itself from its otherwise fatal wounds.
‘Well would ‘ya look at that, the kid’s got some sweet moves after all,’ thought Kisuke then immediately jumped at the opportunity to analyze the stream of data sets that suddenly flooded in from the Raizer Secret’s built-in sensors, a goldmine of vital information that revealed scores on their enemy with unerring clarity like reading an open book.
From what he could gain from just an initial scan of the numbers and letters that resembled ramblings of a madman, Kisuke came to a conclusion that the enemy had originated from the Dangai, a precipice world that existed between the human world and the Seireitei. He immediately thought to the possibility that the creatures originated from the Valley of Screams and that maybe they were some new beings of neither race.
In addition to their possible origin, the data stream also noted a meteoric rise in cognitive activity in the entity as if it suddenly grew not just one brain but an entire multitude of them, with one central processing unit that seemed to act as the central server for all the other smaller units in a vast network connected by something akin to telepathic links, like a “Hivemind” if you will, in layman’s terms.
That was the answer he had been looking for to explain their ability to replicate powers from across time and space and Kisuke's cue to get himself in gear before Grey becomes soaked in red.
“Kid, you’ve done enough. Let me handle things from here,” he spoke through the suit’s intercom. “Trust me, you don’t wanna tussle with that thing right now. Just try not to get killed until I get there. I'm on my way.”
As quickly as he spoke, Kisuke hastily rose from his seat and headed out the shop only to see the mess Knight’s son had left in his wake. A half-hearted sigh left the man’s lips. He’ll have Grey clean it up later after he saves his ass from getting bifurcated by a pissed off monster. Free of charge, of course.

The downed spirit raised its voice in an unholy roar that shattered nearby windows and left any person in its immediate area deafened from the noise. Its once immobile body now came back to life, its vital functions immediately resuming and repairing itself with terrifying speed as if they acted in concert with the primal rage it felt against the lowly human who had brought it down. Such a thing surely was impossible, a cruel trick played by fate, for how can such a weak creature be able to stand against its regal might?
Maybe it was some kind of primitive sense of pride which once more brought up its will to fight like it couldn’t bear the thought of leaving things the way they are, and truly, it wouldn’t leave it at that if it had anything to say about it. Not if it still had so much more to offer. So MUCH more.
“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGH!!!!!” it raged once again. If its opponent didn’t move from where he was standing, the spirit would surely take advantage and land in a first attack with its bare hands. He may not know it since its thoughts were probably filled with a false sense of security but a superior creature like itself didn’t need its blackened zanpakuto to deal with the upstart, especially since its chosen abilities made its whole body a living weapon in itself. If the rascal fancied hand-to-hand fighting so much it would be the pinnacle of irony if he would be killed by the same preference.
In the instant the entity let out its hauntingly frightening roar, Grey could feel his soul tremble from just being near the source of the sound which managed to shatter quite a few windows by pitch alone. His eardrums throbbed in pain from the high-pitched assault it was forced to hear, the sound itself enough to make Grey nauseous and about ready to spew out the half-sandwich and bottle of iced coffee he had taken in a while ago. However, that was the least of his problems at that point since the beast he thought dead once again spurred to life beneath his feet.
With the swiftness afforded to him by his running survival instinct, the Inquisitor jumped off the monster’s torso and retreated a fair distance away from where it began resurrecting itself from certain death, its vitality returning to it in seeming mockery of the natural process that governed over all life; and what was more, the readings doled out by his Raizer suit’s on-board computers doled out a series of graphs which blared out in simple detail that his opponent, either by hook or by crook, managed to increase its powers.
Grey swallowed the lump in his throat and gave a forced smile. “I suppose this is the reason why Sir Urahara was worried about you and your kind,” he muttered under his breath only for it to be immediately drowned out by his suit’s communication function which broadcasted the shopkeeper’s voice in high definition. His message was simple but grim, made more dreadful by the clarity of the reception which served to enhance the distress in his voice. Urahara’s message to him was simple: ‘Try to stay alive’.
A grunt escaped from Grey. “I… will try my best to live…,” he replied in uncharacteristic fatality which, in the situation at hand, portended more truth than what its usual expression connoted. There was a real possibility that he might die at this point in time and he could only hope that Urahara manages to get here in time, and preferably, that he was still alive by then, despite the fact that the latter never gave him a clue as to how he would do just that since he was practically defenseless against the might of the god-like force he was up against now.
Way to troubleshoot, sir, Grey mentally commented with heavy sarcasm and readied himself to deal with the upcoming onslaught that was sure to head his way once the creature began its attack. He would just have to do this by himself at this point, roll with the punches, and put everything into the hope that his suit’s systems are as good as his father or Urahara claimed them to be. They needed to if Grey even had a sliver of hope of surviving whatever it was that the demon had in store for him which, from the way it expressed itself, was something which Grey would not wish upon anyone except, just maybe, his enemies.

Its almost featureless face let out a pleased growl and what could have not been anything less than a grin formed to curled dimpled skin managed to show itself, relishing in the fear it managed to elicit from its opponent. How quickly the tables had turned as the once doll-like entity now writhed with unparalleled power (HL-A) that far and away outclassed whatever pathetic excuse for an energy level the insect had. It wasn't even a fight anymore but an act of punishment aimed to utterly destroy the high-browed human for his unforgivable hubris. To match a god like itself? To sully its immaculate form with unworthy hands with reckless abandon? Oh yes, it would definitely enjoy this.
A loud sonic boom announced its initial attack, its muscled legs carrying it across the gap with every strained sinew they could muster. Its arms were raised in a predatory manner, razor sharp claws primed to rip through that tin can he dared call "armor". What a joke, a sham, from a worthless pile of shit who didn't even know just what kind of danger he had gotten himself into.
It growled again once the Dangai Spirit reached the midpoint of its run before it once again increased its pace to appear before the human like the nightmare it knew it was. A quick second was all it took for the entity to throw its corkscrew punch against its armored target, with all of its weight shifted into its spear-like knife-hand that it had planned to force into the bastard's throat so it could pull out his guts by the mouth. It looked forward to that prospect with murderous delight.
{Techs}Name: Hivemind Class: Unknown Type: Passive Tier: II Range: Indefinite Description: The Dangai Spirits are connected together by a hivemind. The information they receive can be passed down to other spirits, however, it becomes useless to the sender. Information received FROM other spirits can be used to help in combat against their own opponent.
Name: Emulated Strength Class: unknown Type: passive Tier: ?? range: ?? Description: Using information gathering from another spirit at this location, the spirit is able to emulate the powers that they have seen, being able to make copies of those techniques. Due to their shared collective consciousness, they can only choose to focus on one other spirit and cannot access another spirit’s information.
Name: Yoshin (Aftershock よしん) Class: Shikai Technique Tier: IV Type: Offensive Range: Short-Medium (0-10 meters) Description: This punch acts in the same way that a dead blow hammer does, with a first impact hitting before a much more powerful second impact. The user punches the air, or the opponent, launching a concentrated projectile/punch at/into the opponent, this first attack/punch travels at the speed of a Bala and a power tier of II. Then, after the first attack/punch has landed, the second impact hits in the same spot, this one being at tier IV in power. Both impacts affect the target in the same direction, but the first acts as a sort of marker for the second, meaning that the second can be inflicted any time within three posts of the first. This is only if the first hits though. The second impact travels at Cero speed.
The ground beneath Grey seemed to lose its hold upon the young man’s feet, but upon further inspection, he realized that it was just his own body flying through the air as it flew back from the impact it had received from the monster’s quick retribution for earlier. Its movements were a blur and he did not even see the point where the creature had just struck him, although from where he felt his living armor buckle a bit, Grey surmised that the attack was aimed at his face. Thankfully, his protective carapace prevented the attack from breaking through, but he knew that if he continued to take in hits, his armor would become nothing more than his funeral attire.
To stop himself from flying out any further, Grey rolled to one-side and extended his left arm to the ground just as his armored fingers dug into the concrete to act as a brake and reduce his body’s momentum. While it did manage to do just that, five rough-line depressions were left in his wake, and more importantly, it drained the strength from his fingers since the mere act of trying to arrest his momentum from such a powerful punch nearly sapped his grip strength and left his fingers throbbing.
Grey ignored the numbness in his left hand and returned to the creature which now seemed like the pinnacle of strength compared to his own insufficiency. He had no chance against it if he fought it; even the mere thought of doing so was insanity. The Inquisitor was clearly beyond himself if he would entertain the thought of pushing back against such an overwhelming force as the act itself was akin to trying to stop a steamroller with a shovel. However, given enough thought, Grey figured that maybe that was the only way to survive as much as it was an oxymoronic consideration – to fight certain death or to run away and face certain death; a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.
A bitter grimace crossed his face. “I was never much of a water person anyway,” he muttered to himself and set up his combat stance that mixed the traditional English Boxing and Chinese Kenpo. His arms were tucked in and his feet were both bent, with his dominant right foot was positioned forward so as to facilitate quick dodges and initiate charged attacks fluidly, all the while maintaining a central core in order to launch rapid counterstrikes in case his enemy was to let itself slip mid-fight. However, as he was now, such a stance was nothing more than an aesthetic which all penned up to goal only he himself knew – maybe a shovel would be enough to ground a steamroller; and all he had to do was to play his cards right.
If the beast were capable of humor it would find the man’s taunt to be as hollow as the pity it had felt for him when he challenged it to press on with the attack. The spirit didn’t need his dare since it already knew what he wanted to do next, although it was apparent that its initial attack wasn’t enough to break through the protective barrier.
The fiend allowed itself some time to examine the man in the armored suit and silently acknowledged its mistake. It wasn’t as weak as it had first thought so it needed to reassess its strategy once it managed to regain itself from that little exertion, pacing its own performance since it only had so much power to go by. To think that something made by human hands was capable of withstanding a godly strike was surprising, if it were capable of surprise. Instead, the resilient item only made the spirit more determined to destroy it and grind the bones of whoever wore it underneath.
Another feral growl preceded an enormous exertion of reiatsu, the creature now pulsating with destructive power enough to cause a crater on where it stood by the sheer force of the act alone. Its muscles now seemed harder than before, tendons strung tight like steel wires instead of organic sinew, and all of which ready to pass judgment against the man.
It only took a moment for the thing to copy its opponent’s stance as if in open mockery of him, and right before the beast released a series of lightning jabs strong enough cause a sonic boom and fire out destructive waves of reiatsu from its fist, one after another, as four waves of energy (Tier IV) raced towards its enemy at alarming speeds (Cero).
Description: This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed, and strength a 3x boost (not effecting steps). The prime perk of this form is to allow the wielder to release waves of energy with their sword swings of varying power (Power of each would be named on use) and increase the pressure of their reiatsu twofold.

Four flashes of red light shot out from the dark corners of the ruined street, intercepting the incoming barrage of energy that would’ve torn his apprentice to pieces. “You did very well, kid. Now leave the rest to me!” a familiar voice exclaimed just before Kisuke personally arrived at the scene wielding an ornate sword which had been his cane only seconds before.
“Shibari, Benihime!” Kisuke shouted then immediately swung his blade in a downward arc only for it to release a large black net in a crisscross pattern which pinned the Dangai Spirit down to the floor. It roiled and riled violently in the futile hope that it’ll free itself from Benihime’s immensely powerful binding spell. Tough luck, the blonde man thought.
In one fluid stroke, the former captain ran his sword through a portion of the dark net and muttered, "Hiasobi, Benihime. Juzutsunagi," just as small black orbs spouting with wild orange fire ran the entire length of its edgings like a string of pearlescent beads before, in a ferocious release of heat and explosive energy, the trapped entity was engulfed in an infernal blaze which seared its skin and roasted it from the inside out.
By the time Kisuke returned Benihime to its sealed state, the creature that had once been on a rampage across town had become a charbroiled entity at the brink of death. He didn’t put much force into the attack itself but made sure to exert just enough effort to push the Dangai Spirit to an inch of its life for an experiment he had in mind.

Name: Shibari, Benihime (縛り紅姫, Bind, Crimson Princess) Type: Binding Range: Medium (50 Meters) Tier: IV Description: This technique condenses the energy observed in Benihime's previous abilities into the form of a tangible net, emanating from the blade's tip that can be subsequently manipulated in order to bind and restrict an opponents movements.
Name: Hiasobi, Benihime, Juzutsunagi (火遊紅姫数珠繋, Play With Fire, Crimson Princess, Beaded Mesh) Type: Offensive Range: Medium (50 Meters) Tier: IV Description: The energy typically emitted from Benihime takes on explosive properties while this ability is in effect, resulting in the production of highly destructive blasts when the volatile material comes into contact with its intended target. This ability is used to place these destructive orbs like landmines which can then be linked together and detonated at will. Usually used together with "Shibari, Benihime".
