Kvothe had largely remained silent for the majority of the gathering thus far, speaking up only when he had minor questions that were answered as quickly as they were posed. Kvothe was loath to admit it, but he was completely out of his element; there were beings and races here that the Fullbringer would have only been able to imagine if things hadn't changed so drastically for him in recent months. If he were a weaker willed man he might have been intimidated, but as things stood Kvothe felt more at home here than he did with other humans. This place held potential, and Kvothe admired potential. He didn't know much about the spiritual world and as a result he didn't know how much help he'd be, but he prided himself on being a fast leaner and, if nothing else, resourceful. Kvothe finished his thoughts and opened his mouth to speak, but was a familiar voice caused him to pause and listen.
'I didn't know know Gage was here...I wonder if any of the others I've met found their way here.' Kvothe looked around the room and was surprised at the number of people that had filtered in while he had been daydreaming. 'Just how important is this seed?' He thought.
So that was Seran's game. Trying to play on the fact that he carried Ywhach's blood in his veins. What a shame. Had Liam more pride in his heritage or been born a filthy Echt. He might have fallen for such a thing hook, line and sinker. But thankfully Seran made a slight mistake. His words seemed to imply that the Quincy gained their powers in a natural manner. It seemed that the Mod Soul was unaware of the Ancient King. Either that or he was simply withholding such information.
Of course the potential of a security system around Hueco Mundo that was potentially more effective than the amazingly useless Shinigami sounded appealing. While it was doubtful such a goal was Seran's final objective. The Quincy was far too cynical to accept that from a spiritual creature that had no doubt been on the run from the Gotei for possibly centuries.
But it was something Liam could work with. "No offensive but I don't think this is a simple act of altruism for the human world. Somehow I think that the majority of this castle's inhabitants wouldn't be overjoyed at the idea of their food source being cut down." Now shifting his weight slightly and placing his hands behind his head as he continued to lean backwards on the chair. "While you've certainly attempted to give me a reason to stay. I have to ask, what do you in particular gain from this aside from something interesting to study?"
She listened to the others' machinations. She had had little to do with the 8th espada during her time serving in Lord Aizen's army and so knew nothing about this research or any of the other history of the desert world; it was all very informative. There wad a wordy quincy that annoyed her, though apart from that people mostly remained quiet. The orange haired quincy, the one who had just spoken, seemed unnecessarily rude; did he have some issues to work out? His needlessly blunt approach seemed to indicate such. Cyrell wasn't exactly the ultimate bastion of discretion herself mind, mostly due to the funny way in which her mind worked, especially concerning others, but all the same she tried to be polite and courteous to everyone. Were they not all, at least for now, allies here? He could have chosen to simply leave if he doubted Seran's motives. Of course, Cyrell realized the modified soul certainly had a lot to gain, but he had kindly offered them a place to stay and rewards for their, at this point, hypothetical efforts. She didn't exactly care what he, or anyone else wanted to do or got out of anything. On the other hand, mortals' worlds were much smaller than theirs, she reasoned. Their imaginations, perspective... It was woefully limited. Power? Of course there would be mortals with tons of power. But that alone was wasteful. She considered Seran. She guessed he was immortal; truly immortal, unlike the rest of them. What grand schemes and hubris did that put into a being's head? Maybe she would find out.
Hikari watched them all as the responded. They quincy girl, Superia she seemed to be quite knowledgeable on the topic of plants at least, or perhaps for her it was simply common sense. The human girl asked a good question, though it seemed Seran thought the answer was obvious, Hikari wasn't quite sure what her purpose here was at the moment but she would figure it out soon. Liam, now he was pushing buttons. She could tell by the way Seran answered him, if anything he seemed careful of his choice of words in Hikari's eyes. She could guess that he was one to look out for. So far he and Superia were the only true interesting points, though Gage did offer up his services the rest of the group seemed rather unenthusiastic. Perhaps they were gathering information as well, or simply waiting for their chance to input.
She glanced in her sisters direction who'd yet to say anything either. Hikari knew her part wasn't here not quite yet. This was her fathers stage for now. Still she herself did wonder what it was about this seed that interested him so much. She had never asked too much on it before, and he'd never told her. She looked on gathering information herself looking to connect the dots, trying to get ahead of the game quickly. She didn't need to play in a way that could endanger her Father so before she spoke she needed to get her ducks in a row.

Superia, doing Superia things, began growing weary between Liam and Seran’s conversation. Liam, being more antagonistic in Superia’s eyes, was cause for retaliation. Superia withdrew a small blue pill from her pocket then tossed it towards his face. ”Take midol. You are more hormonal than me right now.” A woman’s burden and blessing, but not in Superia’s eyes. With meal finished, Superia placed her fork onto the plate and stood up.
”I have to go change my pad, I’ll be back soon. Mother nature is a bitch, and if, who I assume is impure, wishes to keep mouthing off, he, or I should say she, needs a pad as well.” With head turned she scoffed, moving out of the room back towards her own. As she passed Gage she spoke at a glance. ”I also need to collect my jar of dirt---” She looked towards Seran, stopping a moment before continuing. ”it might be useful.” She didn't really have a jar of dirt, but she needed an excuse to remove herself from the table. It wasn't souly Liam, but simply being around so many people at once. She had talked to much, and her heart was already feeling as though it was far below her feet.
Gage pushes himself away from the table, hearing the obvious excuse that she was needing to do something other than listen to the people bicker about what is and is not happening or why and who did it. If it was all the same he would rather just be here for the portion where Seran hands out his little bits of direction and guidance. Until then though perhaps he could make some contacts. If these people are all prospecting members of the scientific society then maybe they would all be worth spending some time with to pick at their brains.
"I think I need a moment as well, this conversation is riveting and all but I think I would have a moment for some air. The atmosphere in this room is a bit...thick," Gage looks at Liam before he follow Souperia out the door but cuts off in the other direction from her as he had no immediate need of the women bathroom. Once they were outside the door Gage finally makes some noise, just before she was about to walk away. "Psh, there are some thick skulls in there. What happened to learning for the sake of knowledge? When did that become a bad thing?"
Gage pulls out a pack of cigarettes and taps them in his palm before he pulls one out. "Would you like one?" Lighting it up with a small flame from his finger tip he takes a long comforting pull off of it, the small headache that he was developing fading down to nothing.

”A speaker of his own thoughts and emotions, not many speak up these days.” Superia’s right hand slipped inside her pocket, taking hold of an unseen object while holding up her left in rejection of his cig. ”Hold that light.” Superia removed a small silver container, akin to those that held cigars for fancy people albeit smaller. Opening with a click, several cigar looking cigs were lined up with a small metallic zippo.
They released a faintly sweet scent that was also robust, yet not overpowering to the senses. ”True cheery flavor, like picked off the vine. Not disgusting like those found at fast food places. No niccotine, but it produces the same effect; Actually similar to what some call weed but without feeling hungry or as high.” Superia offered him one, and light one with her left hand and a blue flame coming from the lighter.
”I’m not good with plants either, but they are apart of my work. These are some special cigs I developed. Good for allergies and good all around.”
"No thanks, I got one habit already. Not trying to kill myself twice as fast," Gage holds one hand up to turn down the semi illegal drug cigarette mix. She was a different class than him, her education and knowledge being something that he would never have but even so it was rather refreshing to speak with someone that was more skilled than him, even if it was in a different field. Her rather uniquely crafted cigarette box shined in the light, matching her appearance and demeanor more than she would really know. "My focus, leaning about as far away from botany as you can get, is engineering. Machines, structures, armor, weapons. Its all simple enough but you ask me to keep a Venus fly trap in the house? I will kill it before I can water it for the first time."
Gage turns and looks back at the doorway to the room of bickering people. "Perhaps thats what they need. Maybe they need something I can make but honestly, I feel like I am here for something else. I just don't know what yet." Gage tucks his pack of cigarettes back into his pocket and taps some of the ashes away before turning back to Souperia,"So what exactly do you do? What is your focus?"
"Seran knows what he is doing, and he knows better than anyone else doing anything to jeopardize the natural way of things. If he didn't think you, or any one else here at this table, were of any use in this task, you wouldn't be here. You don't have to be either, so if it does not suit your interest...tsst" Theocelese spoke to the Quincy, setting his bottle down to grab himself a cigarette. With his other hand, he gestured to the door. Unlike Gage, Theocelese chose to use a zippo, an old and beat up one at that, to light his smoke. He took one drag, and listened as the different people communed with one another and held idle chitchat. He watched them, wondering if this was anything more than a simple resource gathering session, would they be able to even handle it? One talked of things that should not be talked about when others were eating, and Theocelese would not have that. In fact, he had half a mind to go and bop Superia on the back of the head if she started that kind of talk again. Instead, Theocelese took a drag and then gulped down some more of the wine.
"When do we set out, Seran. I'd like to be prepared."
Humans really were difficult to deal with. As Superia and Gage made their way to leave, several of the Arrancar that had accompanied Theocelese moved to stop them at the door. Seran raised his hand, gesturing dismissively at them.
“Let them go, they can find their way back to their rooms without you looming over them.”
It didn’t matter anyway. The main purpose of this meeting had been to give them the basic information about the job. If nothing else Seran had succeeded in that. The details would come later.
“Liam you have been nothing but suspicious of me since the day we met. We all have priorities, and mine are just like anyone else. I want to grow this seed because it represents an important step in my research into hollowfied plants.”
The mod soul smiled wryly.
“And I’d be lying if the power of such an organism didn’t also intrigue me.”
As quickly as the smile had come it vanished, and Seran stood up from his seat.
“But enough of this. I’ve told you the basis of my bringing you here. You are all now free to stay or leave as you choose. One week from today the project shall commence, if you return to your rooms now you will find additional information has been delivered there, including your individual tasks which you are to keep to yourselves. You will also find one of these.”
He held up a hand, and a black envelope appeared above it, materializing from black liquid material.
“After reading your specific details, you are encouraged to fill out the marked sheet within, detailing any and all equipment you will need. Consider it part of your payment, though you’ll only get what you request if you’re here at the end of the week.”

I WANTED PROFESSIONALS, BUT YOU'LL DO
"I offer nothing if my interest don't align..."
Eevee, while her interest in the matter had fallen quickly, she still had some that might be able to be refueled once things started going forward. Right hand rose to her mask to slowly move it half way down her face, the hood hiding most her face still as she spoke. ”My only true concern is if this group of people can even work as a team…” Eevee was not exactly holding her voice down but after speaking she moved her mask back onto her face and began to walk away. She had no reason to stay in the room anymore it seemed and she needed a change of scenery.
Her mind clicking into the normal pace as she walked away from everyone before taking her mask off and leaning against a wall. ”That was far too tense for me… I even wrote a dumb question like that …” Eevee let herself slide down the wall and sat on the floor, her face red with embarrassment for her actions. Blue eyes glistened lightly with tears before she wiped her eyes and got moving back to her room. She wanted to find out just what she was going to be doing, then she cloud take some time to pick out what she would need.
Cyrell nodded at Seran. It seemed straightforward enough. She supposed she would only know what equipment to request when she knew her job but... It wasn't exactly equipment that she was after. No, Cyrell was more interested in something more bespoke. That was, she didn't want Seran's things, she wanted what was in his head. She wanted to learn engineering skills from him. She was no great combatant but she was blessed with a keen intellect, and with the right skillset she could put it to use. Cyrell didn't care about what other people wanted to do, as long as she could be involved. She wanted to be a force, a consideration, in the world's grand motions. Having said that, something to remove or hide her mask remnants might be useful. As well as, perhaps, some device to hide her reiatsu signature. Either way Cyrell would say nothing here, and simply stood and left, once she felt they were being dismissed.
By chance she left the same door as Eevee. The human was strange. Cyrell watched her slump down. Things were taking their toll. She was probably green to this, after all, most humans in fact knew very little about spiritual matters at all and so to be dragged to Hueco Mundo by someone crazy like Seran it was not entirely unexpected.
