"Yes, oh, and some of those too, mhm, arigato... Oh yes please, a handbag will be helpful!"
Crowded noon in Karakura districts. People are going here and there, shopping, drinking coffee, meeting other people on the way or doing their everyday stuff. Pretty much what you would see any day in Karakura. A little further, you could see a small grocery shop. Pretty neat, with all the fruits and vegetables in open boxes, people coming, tossing some in a bag, paying and be on their way. There, through the crowd, you can see a young girl coming out from the store, holding a couple of handbags in each hand. Black long hair, slim, her slightly tanned tone of her skins makes her a little unique through the crowd. Her golden eyes comes to add that up, making the contrast with her black hair even more tense. Wearing some casual t-shirt with a hell-knows-what-that-is kind of kitty stamp on it, and a pair of jeans. That pretty girl is Asuka, doing her daily shopping and stuff. Ring, ring. Her cellphone starts vibrating in her pocket, as she walks away from the crowd with the bags in her hands. "Who is it now...", she mutters, as she stops walking, putting the bags on the ground and reaching for her pocket. Placing the cellphone between her shoulder and her ear, Asuka picks up the bags again and keeps walking.
"Hey girl, what's up? Yes I'm on my way home. What? This evening? Uhm, I'm afraid I cannot today, I got boxing training... yeah..."
Talking on the phone, she keeps walking on the sidewalk. At some point, she is like "talk to you later", and stops. Hands occupied, the cellphone needs to somehow go away from between her shoulder and ear. Oh well, letting loose of the cellphone, Asuka lets it drop and slip into one of the handbags with the fruits. Smiling with her 'aiming' success, she continues walking down the sidewalk.

They're gone.
Tenshi stood ontop of one of the buildings of Karakura Town. People rarely bothered to look up, so, barely anyone saw her. She put her right arm behind her back, gripping her left one. Her grip tightened. They were both gone. Scarlet and Eric. She couldn't even pick up their scent anymore. They both were nowhere to be found. And, yet again. She ended up alone. This was how her life went. At last, she would find someone she could connect with and they would fade away again. Whether they are immortal or not. She would always end up alone. Always end up left behind.
Black ethereal wings sprouted from her back as she slowly stepped towards the edge. A strong beat from the wings carried her across the gap between two buildings, at a speed that was too high for these mortals who walked the streets. These mortals who were happy and content, despite their fleeting lives. She could only envy them. She held far greater power, yet she was bitterly alone. It was beautiful weather, everone was busy. Everyone had a reason to be where they were. Yet Tenshi did not. She was only a shadow, a lost soul amidst the herd.
But, something halted the beating of her wings as she touched down on the building. A brown-haired woman. Slowly, the wings made from the corrupted black energy dissipated into nothingness. This woman, she could smell it, was spiritually attuned. Yet, the woman could not sense her, after all, she was a bount. She possessed no spiritual pressure or such in wich she could be sensed. She was not going to head down and just start talking to her, not just yet. She was just going to watch the woman's movements, see if she could find something out about her.
Finally, after some time walking, Asuka managed to escape all the noise and people. Letting out a loud sigh, she took a deep breath with a smile, enjoining the silence for a brief moment. Well, not exacly silence, but its much more quiter than before. It is not like she doesn't like to be near people or that she is antisocial, but hell, they were just so freaking many.
With lighter steps now, Asuka continued walking down the sidewalk. She lost herself for a brief moment into her thoughts. She had several hours before her training would start. She should go home, cook something. Yes, something light and healthy, that would work. Maybe she'll have some time to do some cleaning as well. Her face took a sad expression for a second, remembering that she is unemployed for some time now. She should find a job soon enough, or her saving will run out, a lot faster than she could ever run, heh.
She paused. She smiled. Coming back to the real world, she looked around to see if anyone was near and then, hop, she jumped on the small pole on the sidewalk. Balancing on her toes, she started jumping from one pole to the other. one, hop, two, hop, three, hop, four, hop.... She didn't even twitch. After a few, she had to jump back on the sidewalk, because she had to cross the street. Well, she could jump on a car or something, she even thought about it, but that would draw too much attention, which she already had. She had the feeling that she is being watched. Though, when she looked around a couple of time, none was there. Maybe it was just her imagination, but better be safe than sorry.
With quick steps now, looking behind her in times to times, she made her way home. A turn here and a turn there, she reached a small empty road, where she stopped in front of a small Apartment building. Leaving down the handbags from her right hand, she reached for her pocket to get her keys. What an annoying feeling...
She smiled gently as she witnessed to the woman hopping the poles. She seemed careless and happy. As a human should be, as one deserves to be. She chose to follow the human, to say the least, she was interesting. A prime exemple as to why she wandered the streets of Naruki city and Karakura town, it was to defend people like her. From spiritual and non spiritual beings. A protector, an immortal vigilante. She made a difference in the streets and was happy to. Just the killing. She hated the killing. But, that was something she shouldn't think about now. The woman's behaviour and body language indicated that at least someone was present and watching her. She sighed. "Guess it's enough of the stalker routine.." With just a gentle thud behind the woman who was in a desperate search of her keys, Tenshi dropped down, the black spectral wings folding on her back and slowly dissipating. "Kon'nichiwa." She said, if the thud had not indicated her presence already, her soft and soothing voice would have. "Gomen.. Shouldn't have creeped up on you." She said with a gentle blush, a bit emberassed at admitting that she was infact following her intently.
"I just happened to.. Notice that you were slightly different from the rest." She said, looking up to the noon sky, hands pocketed in the dark blue jeans, a black tanktop that accented her small features. She looked, if guessed, around her twenties. Small with a lithe frame, yet a gentle and disarming smile. A sincere smile and if Asuka was proficient at understanding other's body languages, she'd notice it being a wounded smile, a smile coming from someone who has been repeatedly hurt and scarred. A smile that represented a bitter undertone of solitude. "I'm Kukichi.. Kukichi Tenshi.. Nice meeting you." She said towards the woman.
As Asuka's fingers touched her keys in her pocket, she stopped. A faint sound behind her. Her eyes swiftly raised up and narrowed. A presence. Yes, someone was behind her, she was sure of it. Someone wanted to rob her? Pitiful. She could take him out in mere seconds. She was not a Boxing Champion for nothing. her fingers clinched together. Her fists tightened. With quick movements, she would slide her foot on the ground in a circural motion, turning her body a full 180 degrees around to face her stalker. Her right fist passed next to her waist, ready to strike her first low blow. And that is where she froze.
"Kon'nichiwa." - "Gomen.. Shouldn't have creeped up on you."
blink, blink. What the hell. a girl? Where's the damn thief, where did he- Oh well. Asuka still couldn't believe it. She was so ready and into kicking some robber's arse, that she was caught by surprise. Loosening her stance, she sighed, brushing some hair away from her face with her hand. "Hey girl, don't go startling people off like that... she said, letting out another sigh, as her mind turned back to being completely normal. "So you are the one following me around from back then, hm? You shouldn't stalk people like that, it is bad, you know...", she would say again, holding her waist with her hands and leaning slightly closer to the girl, looking into her eyes.
"I just happened to.. Notice that you were slightly different from the rest." - "I'm Kukichi.. Kukichi Tenshi.. Nice meeting you."
"Does my fit build give me away that easy? Yes, I am exercising a lot. I am a boxing Champion, you know!", Asuka said with a big smile, thrusting her fist on the air. But no, that was not the right answer. And that was not what the girl meant with her question. Asuka knew that already. But how? She couldn't feel anything from her. Not the slightest bit of spiritual pressure, nothing. How she could know that Asuka was indeed Special. Something doesn't feel right. What is wrong with that girl. Asuka could read the signs, it was girl-to-girl talk, after all. That sad aura surrounding her, those atoned expressions of her. Poor girl. Asuka could feel her heart tightening a little bit. You know, that feeling when you unconsciously feel sad about someone else. "Tenshi-chan, hm? Nice to meet you too, I'm Asuka., she said with a warm smile, as she attempted to slightly pat the girl on her head. Turning around, she walked toward the door, unlocking it. Picking up her handbags, she turned her glance at Tenshi. "Do not be shy, come on inside. This is an official invitation for Asuka's supper, you shouldn't miss it!

She smiled gently. "Sorry.. I was just looking for the right time to.." A thought seemed to cross her mind. Swoop down and dispell my wings? That's not really proper. "Drop in.." She said, the smile widening slightly, this was the best she came up with. "No.. different as in possessing a reiatsu." She smiled gently, tapping her nose. Even amongst bounts, she might have a very sharp nose. She was able to sniff out about anyone. Most likely even tell by their scent what race they were. Even make a pretty accurate estimation of how powerful they were. Yet, none of those were to her interests now. This woman, Asuka, had shown hostility, but that was self defence. And she was certain it wouldn't have mattered.
She nodded. "Asuka-san." She said, as if tasting the name. She smiled gently. "A nice name.." She tilted her head. That was rather quick, not that she minded. An invitation to supper was a friendly gesture. One she had only seen a very few amount of times in her enourmous lifespan. She smiled gently, nodding. "I know a bit of cooking.. Need some help, Asuka-san?" She offered, following her in with a small smile, folding her hands behind her back.
That girl's senses were rather keen. And she was rather odd. Talking so straight-forward about reiatsu and powers was not something Asuka was used to. And what did she meant with her nose. She could smell her? Smell reiatsu maybe. In all honesty, Asuka never heard of something like that. So many questions that her head started to spin for a brief moment.
Opening the door, Asuka removed her shoes and placed them next to the stairs. With a quick glance, she implied toward Tenshi that she should do the same too. Moving upstairs, Asuka stopped in front of a door, which was just next to the stairs, unlocking that one as well. And there, you could see a pretty smal, but cozy apartment. It wasn't big at all. It could barely fit a bed with orange sheets, a drawer and a small table with four cushions. Above the bed was a window, while above the drawer you could see a couple of shelves. The first one had several picture frames, displaying Asuka at a younger age with some friends and an old woman. On the second shelf, you could see indeed a trophy from World's women Boxing tournament, as well as a couple more, smaller, from Kids' tournaments. In between, on the left side as you enter the room, there was the bathroom room, while on the other was a bar, separating the main room from the kitchen.
"Oh, why, thank you" Asuka said with a smile, as a reply to the statement about her name. "Yours is pretty, too."
As they both entered the apartment, Asuka closed the door behind and opened the window. "No, no, no. You are a guest. Guests just sit down and relax", she said, moving her finger left and right as a No gesture, with a smile on her face. "Just give me a moment to organise those things, make yourself at home!", she said again, showing the bags she was holding and reached for the kitchen. Putting some of the things in the cabinet, then she open the fridge and started stuffing things in. "Want to drink something? I got soda, uhm, iced tea... hm... Oh! And orange juice, mhm. Maybe you want something else? Hot tea, perhaps?" She knew at that point that she started spamming the little girl with questions, though she couldn't help it. She loved having guests. Well, wrong. She loved taking care of people. And that girl, well, she just gave her the feeling that she wanted to take care of her, instinct, if you dare to call it.
She nodded at Asuka's glance, clear enough. And she knew this, keeping your shoes on inside someone's home was very rude. It just wasn't done. She sat down briefly, untying the laces on her sneakers and pulling them off, standing up again and following Asuka into her home. Following the woman through the door, she looked around the appartement, smiling gently. "It's very cozy.." She said with the same gentle smile. "But.. I.." She couldn't really bring up a proper argument when Asuka waggled her finger. Not one argument that would save her from sitting down and relaxing while Asuka did all the work. "Alright.." She said with an akward smile, going to examine the pictures, bowing slightly. "You're still a professional boxer, Asuka-san?" She asked, arching an eyebrow and turning a bit towards wherever Asuka was with a soft smile. "Wich weight category? Feather or lightweight?" Now that her back faced Asuka, the woman could see the clear marks and scars from various whiplashes, horizontal and vertical, at her shoulders. Yet, being bown forward also revealed a patch of the small of her back, also bearing similair scars, silent witnesses that testified of mind breaking torture.
She stood up straight again, turning to Asuka and sitting down on the bed carefully. "Iced tea would be great.." She said with a soft smile, folding her hands on her lap and exploring the appartement further in silence, merely looking around. It intruiged her how humans lived, it was not all that different from her own, but, it was apparent that they enjoyed a more decorative outlook for their home. Something that fit their personality.
She herself? Well, her home was very bland. Sober furniture only serving a practical use, rather then a decorative one. A mental note she made was to actually spruce her house a bit up. Make it more cosy and nice. Else she'd be like Äon. Fallen into the abyss of time and losing the ability to enjoy life. Yet, after sevenhundred and nineteen years, it tends to get difficult.
After placing all the things she bought in their approriate place, Asuka took out her cooking equipments, as well as a glass. Pouring inside some of the iced tea, she approached Tenshi and handed her the glass with a smile. "There you go, Tenshi-chan", she said, as she made her way back to the kitchen. Taking out some chicken and several vegetables, she started cutting the vegetables into small pieces. Until she was done with it, she placed a pan on the oven, some oil inside and lit up the oven with a small fire.
"Yes, I still am, in fact. Though, I haven't gone to any tournaments recently. Sadly, work takes most of my time..."
She would say with a sigh, reminded of the old times of glory. The first picture that came into her mind was her, all covered in blood, raising her hand after winning her first world-wide championship. Ah, good times. "Medium for women's category, light for General", she replied, as she threw the small vegetable pieces into the pan. Now for the chicken. Taking a large plate and a knife, she started cutting the chicken into small pieces as well. "You seem to know some things about Boxing, don't you?", she casually asked.
Asuka couldn't help but to notice the marks on Tenshi's back. She frowned, slightly. What exacly could have happened to that girl. She felt more furious than sad, to whoever did this to her. But she tried to not ask about it, or make it look like she saw it. She didn't know what kind of experience that girl had. "Tell me about yourself", Asuka said in the end, with a calm voice and a warm smile. She didn't hope for Tenshi to tell her her life-story, but she could get some information about her, about her life. "It seems you know about reiatsu and powers, but I don't get any spiritual vibes from you. Are you that good at hiding it, or maybe something else?", she finally made her questions more straight-forward, yet she regretted it at the next moment. She didn't know how the girl would react, even though she made the first statement about reiatsu. In any case.
Taking of some rice, she mixed it with the chicken pieces and placed them into a pot, next to the pan. It should be done in about ten minutes or so, Asuka thought to herself with a nod, as she roiled the food with a spoon.
"Arigato gozaimasu.." She nodded as she took the glass with both hands, smiling softly as she went to sit on the bed. She took a sip from the glass and looked towards Asuka as she went to cook. "What do you do for a living?" She asked, tilting her head. She nodded as Asuka declared the category she was put in. She knew a bit about boxing, overheard several conversations about it. Yet, it wasn't really in her best interests. "Regretting it? That you can't partake, I mean.." She said, ending the sentence murmuring. "Err.. About myself?" She asked with an awkward and slightly sad smile. "I'm just a no one.." She said, looking Asuka in the eyes and giving a warm, yet sad smile, her eyes closing briefly. "No one generally important.."
"Yes." She started as her finger traced the edge of the glass at the question of reiatsu, how she could smell it. How she had none. "I'm.. I'm a bount." She said as she carefully put the glass down on the nightstand. "You'd better want to sit down.." She said, standing up with a sad sigh, giving Asuka the time to actually fetch a seat. "I am.. Sevenhundred and nineteen years old." She started with a sad smile. "We bounts.. Do not possess a reiatsu. Because we do not have a soul."
She pulled the black feather from her hair, looking down at it with a nostalgic smile. "We are immortal vessels.. We live and heal ourselves through absorbing reiokyu. We were made. Failed experiments. massacred. Now only a handful of us still live.." She said, the smile becoming more of a sad grimace, her hands closing around the feather, squeezing it, tears slowly rolling down her cheeks. "W-We can s-sniff out.. O-other's reiatsu." She stammered, trying to hold the tears and sobs back. Her entire life was tough. What was she even thinking? She'd always end up alone. Abandoned. As such is the curse of mortality. It wasn't going to be alright. It wasn't going to be fine. She kept telling herself that, but it was a lie that became much more painful to believe. "W-We.. Have t-these dolls. w-who.." She grit her teeth. "Who.." She tried to finish the sentence, but failed, just sobbing inaudibly.
Tomorrow was indeed another day. Yet, those other days kept going on for eternity. And she was already broken after only sevenhundred years. There was still eternity to spend.
"I used to work as a part-time maid in Tokyo. But I stopped because I moved here, now, well... I'm still looking"
Asuka said with a calm voice, as she kept roiling the rice. Fact is, she needed to find a job fast. Her saving were running low and if she wouldn't find a job soon, well, the rest is obvious. She was doing some part-jobs here and there, but that was not enough. Oh, she so wished she could become a worldwide proffesional Kickboxer, with sponsors and such. She so wished...
"Yeah... to be honest.", she said with a quiet, a little sad tone in her voice. "I hope one day that I will become a worldwide proffesional, with sponsors and such, you know. Some day...", letting out a sigh, Asuka finished her words, before raising an eyebrow at Tenshi's statement. Nobody? Aw, come on. "Nobody is a nobody, girl... Wait that sounded wrong. Heh. In any case, you are Tenshi-chan, and that's that. Don't be harsh to yourself, everyone is import-Oh, oh, the food!"
Asuka, with swift moves, closed the oven and took the pan off of it. She would proceed into taking two bowls and pouring inside the rice and chicken mix, before adding the fried vegetables as a topping. A tray, a pair of chopsticks and a pair of naperies would finish the set. Approaching Tenshi, Asuka smiled at her and placed the tray on the table, then gesturing Tenshi to join her, as she sat down as well. "Come on, let's eat."
"A bount you say? Can't say I heard of them...", Asuka said with a question tone, as she heard Tenshi's words. What were bounts exacly? She haven't ever met them. Until now, she have seen a couple of Hollows and a couple of Shinigami, nothing more. Yet she didn't have any actual conversation with them, except from the basics. She stayed quiet, listening to Tenshi's words. You could see a sly shock in her face. She left her chopsticks, rested her arms on her knees and looked straight at Tenshi, listening every and each word of hers.
Even though she was quite shocked from what she was hearing, souless, immortal vessels, several centuries years old, etc, she didn't even fling. She stayed quiet, even when Tenshi started crying and listened her. Until she couldn't say a word more. Then was when Asuka stood up, grabbed one of the naperies and approached Tenshi. Kneeling in front of her, she gently wiped the tears off her face, with a warm smile. "In all honesty, it is the first time I hear of such a thing, and I do not know yet if I believe it or not. But I do not have a reason to not believe you, so... You do not have to feel sad for who you are. Every and each one of us is a different being. Humans, Shinigami, Hollows, ehm.. Bounts. Even we, among the humans are all different individuals. We have our good and bad sides, our harsh and beautiful memories of the past. You do not have to let your past bring you down. Well, as it seems, you are a little older than me, but that just means you have more memories to lean on, nothing more." Asuka finished her words, brushing gently Tenshi's hair away from her eyes. She stood up and sat back at her seat. "I hope at least you can taste the delicious rice I made for you, hm?", she said now with a smile, as she picked up her chopsticks. If Tenshi would dare to eat, she would indeed realise that the food was delicious.
Asuka kept a normal, gentle face, like nothing happened. Though, those words were still running in her thoughts...
Memories. No. They were just things of the past. With no insight on how long one's life was, memories were the most painful thing to ever be had. It was only that. A memory. Not reality. Fleeted dreams and happiness. All that dissappeared, all had faded now. And she was once again abandoned. Fallen into solitude once again. Her tears were dried, yet, she didn't even notice. Her sobbing stopped slowly. Her shoulders stopped shaking from her painful breaths. All reduced to silence, an emotionless facade. "More memories.." She started, looking up at the ceiling with a sad smile. "Mean more burdens.. For someone that is not even certain of death." She looked over at Asuka with sad, tired eyes even. Not just physically tired. No. Mentally drained. Eyes stating that she had far lived beyond her age already. An exhaustion that had already seemed to drag on for eternity.
"The happy ones are merely.. Nostalgic. Painful." She said with a hoarse voice. "The sad.. Or horrible ones.." She took a deep breath. "They haunt me.." She rose slowly, standing up. "I haven't been completely honest.. Asuka-san." She looked in her direction. "I am also a murderer.. I used to feed on souls to keep alive."
She smiled sadly. "And now I'm a vigilante.." Another tear rolled down her cheek. "And each of their faces are as vivid as ever." She kept her distance from the table, from Asuka. It was Asuka's choice. If she demanded her to leave, she would. She would dissappear into the chaos once again.
Sometimes, some things are better to be kept for ourselves, thats a well known saying. And that was Asuka's thought at that very moment. On the other hand, sometimes is better to express even the most painful, most terrifying secrets of yours. It always depends on who you have as an audience. They might overreach, act normally or stay calm. The possibilities are endless.
Asuka didn't look Tenshi in the eyes, for that moment, at least. She gazed down in her bowl, her chopsticks at hand, not moving. Those words sounded so wrong in her head. They didn't seem to fit in the picture, at all. Tenshi was such a cute and quiet girl. How could she be a murderer. She frowned. Not because of what she heard, but because she couldn't believe it. But yet again, she had no reason to doubt Tenshi. The fact that she was all alone in her home, with a so called Murderer didn't even cross her mind.
"Tenshi-chan...", Asuka said with a calm, yet shaky voice, without raising her eyes. "First of, you just got completely honest. Also, if you were a murderer, as you say, why I am still alive? Yes, maybe you have killed, I can accept that. Hollow do, shinigami do, its all in the game. But what I cannot understand, is why you let your mind be so harsh at you, just why... if you want to leave, go on ahead. It is your decision, not mine. I invited Tenshi, the cute and quiet girl I came upon for supper, and that's that."
It felt that she stopped talking all of sudden, yet she finished her words. At the next moment, Tenshi could feel a calm, yet murderous aura coming from Asuka. It gave the feeling of the calmness before the storm. As well, she could smell a quite different reiatsu than before. It was sharp, and had a heavy scent of blood lotus. Asuka's eyes raised up, meeting with Tenshi's. Her eyes were now not golden, but had the color of red, her voice sounded different. Deeper, older, wiser.
"After all, who isn't a murderer? Who, among all beings, living and dead, would not kill for that they want to protect. Be that their family, their friends, their lives."
Her eyes shut. Her hand touched her head, like she was in some kind of faint pain. She shook her head, and looked back at Tenshi. Her eyes now back to their normal golden, her aura calm. "Do decide, Tenshi-chan, before the food turns cold...", she said with a sly smirk.
She smiled faintly. It was horrendously simple. "You're not a target.. I'm not indiscriminate.." She said with a weak smile. It was kind of sickening how she appointed herself to decide over a human's life or death, just like that. "Only those that harm others are.." She said. "Criminals.. Murderers." She murmured, holding her arm. "So harsh? I wish I could.." She huffed gently. It was ironic. She was scarred and destroyed. A lost lamb amidst the estranged herd, how could she help this. Sevenhundred and nineteen years of scars. "Those're the ones I kill." She took a deep, bitter sigh. "Do you wish to sit down and chat.. With a murderer?" She asked. "I.. I'm not.." She started weakly. Not what? Not quiet and cute? Not normal? Not human? Not sure who I am? She mentally kicked herself as these questions shot through her head, leaving her sentence unfinished as she smelled the odd scent. Looking up at Asuka as she saw the woman's pupils change color.
"There's a difference between.. The desire.." She swallowed slowly. "And the actual murder.." She replied to the strange apparition that had seized Asuka's mind. Yet, she was wary. She saw the woman closing her eyes, putting a hand on her head as if she had a headache. "I.. I'm sorry." She said as Asuka opened her eyes again. Feeling partly responsible for whatever happened to Asuka now. It was as if she was a completely different individual, just for a second. "Are you alright?" She asked, her concerns sincere, sitting down infront of the woman.
"Yes, yes, I'm alright. And you do not have to be sorry, it happens sometimes..."
Indeed, it wasn't Tenshi's fault, but she did lie. It happened only once or twice in her life. That second self, second being who resident inside her, Asuka could call out whenever she wanted at her own will. Though, unconsiously in rarely came out on its own. It used to happen when she was mentally unstable, or in overthinking panic. Probably both happened just now. It was not Tenshi's fault, but mostly Asuka's personality. Being all kind-hearted and caring was hurting her watching Tenshi being like that. And that other self, well, that was the reason of Asuka's supernatural powers.
"To be honest, Tenshi-chan, I do not really care. I don't know how life treated you until now, but you seem to me quite a nice girl"
Asuka said, smiling at Tenshi. Well, she did believe what she said. She looked at Tenshi, then at her bowl, then back at Tenshi. She raised an eyebrow. "I'm still waiting for you to try the food and tell me if you like it, you know...", she said, pointing with her chopsticks at Tenshi's bowl. "Don't make me feed you, I don't care if you are centuries years old, you are still a small girl in my eyes!", she said teasingly, letting out a giggle.

"Yokata.." She murmured under her breath. At least she hadn't harmed her new friend just yet. Harmed mentally or physically. "Thanks.. But.." She couldn't really bring any proper follow up on the 'but'. She wasn't a nice girl. Not at all. 'Nice' girls didn't murder people. Yet. She couldn't say it. She couldn't discomfort Asuka further. She just didn't want to. This might've been a new start. A new friend. Someone to connect with. Someone to protect after both Eric and Scarlet dissappeared. She remembered it all too vividly. Scarlet had dissappeared without a trace. She had searched her mansion in Naruki city, even managed to utilise the Asakura family's recourses in finding her. Yet, she dissappeared without a trace. Then there was Eric. The bount she had grown to love. He was gone. Nowhere to be found. In none of his hideouts or homes. Not even a fresh scent from him. Like everything was dead and abandoned. And she had nothing to hold on to.
She had failed to protect them. Her toughts were interrupted and lost as Asuka mentioned trying to feed her. She smirked awkwardly. A bit apologetic, even. "Seven centuries, a decennium and nine years as of four days ago.." She smiled shyly when she took her own chopsticks. She was glad that just the moment of sadness. The moment of her being the crybaby once again, was easily forgotten. Turning the invitation for supper into a social visit once more. "Itadakimasu.." She murmured under her breath as she tasted the rice.
She arched an eyebrow in surprise. "It's.. Very good. Delicious." She said, looking up with a gentle smile.
"Well, that", Asuka said with a grin, when Tenshi told her exact age. Then she smiled, as she watched her hesitantly taking her chopsticks and trying out the food. "I am glad you like it. I'm not trying to praise myself, but I am one hell of a cook, cooking for more than ten years now", she replied at Tenshi with a giggle, before continued eating herself as well. And it was true. Asuka had started cooking from a very young age, back at the orphanage. She had a natural talent of cooking, cleaning, and in general house chores. Despite her wild and free-spirited personality, she loved house working.
"So, Tenshi-chan, what are you doing in your daily life? Working, maybe going to school? I mean, how do you blend with the human society, I suppose they can see you, or they do not?", Asuka asked casually, while eating small bites from her food. She was quite interested and curious to learn stuff about that little... well, 'little' Bount girl. Being all a vigilante and such, must be a harsh life. But, what people say, there is more than what meets the eye. Yes, she might look and act like a girl of some sort, but you can never be sure of what is in her mind. Thinking of her age and her experiences, Asuka is the little girl here, not Tenshi.
But, she had to admit. She was quite surprised and somewhat relieved that Tenshi didn't ask about that scenery before. Her second self, Seya, coming out on the surface on her own. She didn't even want to think about it. Knowing her inner being, her and Tenshi could either become the best friends, or the worst enemies. She shivered even at the thought, and hoped it won't happen again, at least for now. Sometimes, fact is, she can feel her presence inside her head, her mind, her thoughts. But she never interfered. At that moment, luckily, she couldn't feel her around.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Asuka realised she had stopped eating, even moving, for several seconds. Her glance went straight at Tenshi to see if she noticed that. Giving her a gentle smile, she continued eating.

"You kinda expect to stop counting after two hundred years.." She said with a gentle chuckle. Most people wouldn't even care for their birthday with the knowledge that they were immortal. Yet it was a thing she could hold on to. These years and centuries. Counting them. It was a minor thing, yet it helped her remain sane under the enourmous mental pressure of immortality. As it was a curse, rather then a blessing. A lone angel wandering the earth. Trying desperetly to make a change. A never ending purpose and duty. One she promised herself. "More than roughly.. fivehundred years. Yet, I'm horrible now as it is confusing.." She said with a gentle smirk. "Cooking has.. Changed so much over the centuries. It'd surprise you."
She gently tapped her chopsticks on the nearly empty plate, humming slightly under her breath, seeming to be contemplating on her own. Now that she thought about it, a lot had changed over the course of her life. The actual need to farm crops and kill your own livestock was now only an easy trip to the nearest supermarket. Trading was a thing of the past, now it was merely buying. Everything went so fast. And she had to do her best to adapt, fit it and run. Hoping not to be noticed as she didn't age. She was still lost in thought when Asuka glanced and smiled at her.
For a while, several seconds, in fact, Asuka kept staring at Tenshi, trying to realise what had happened while she was lost in her thoughts. It seemed that Tenshi herself was drifted off as well, or something like that. For one thing, she did not answer Asuka's question. The fact is that Asuka didn't know if she indeed didn't hear her question, or knowingly ingored it. It took her some time before she decided if she would let it pass by, or insist on the question.
"Uhm... Did you hear my question? If you do not with to answer, then that is alright"
Asuka finally said with a smirk on her face. She didn't feel like forcing Tenshi to answer or do things against her own will. That was against her ideals and against the Hospitality she was offering. Looking down at her bowl, she noticed that there was some food left. Her glance moved at Tenshi's bowl which was already empty. Asuka widen her eyes a little, by surprise. Tenshi was quite a fast eater, she had to admit. Digging in her bowl, she emptied it with small, but quick bites. As she finished, she let out a sigh of enjoyment, as she placed her chopsticks on top of the bowl, in a horizontal way.
"So, being... Seven centuries, eighteen-uhm, no nineteen years old, right? How does it feel? I mean, you should be quite strong, shouldn't you?"
Well, truth be told, you cannot consider someone with seven centuries of experience a weaklin. Tenshi should be strong, in Asuka's mind at least, in fact, very strong. If, according to Asuka, who considers herself decent when it comes on terms of power, at her twenties, hell, seven centuries...
Her eyes widen and she jumped off her cushion. "Cake!"
She looked up at Asuka asking whether she had heard her question. Question? What question? She seemed to have a puzzled and confused look on her face. "What question..?" She asked with an emberassed blush. She literally had just dreamt away infront of Asuka, caught of guard and defenseless. It made her feel squeamish and insecure. "I.. I do want to answer. Just gotta know the question.." She said with an awkward smile. She arched an eyebrow at the question. "Strong?" She wondered at the question. "What do you mean?" She asked. Strong had several meanings. Then again. She was pretty certain it was the physical prowess. "Well.. I guess I am strong." She said shakily. Her powers were quite clear in the theme they had. One side was her more pristine side, the other was the corruption. The darkness she had recieved from absorbing souls and murdering others.
"Well.. Strong has a broad understanding.." She smiled gently. "Even then, the stronger you think you get.. The more you realise how weak you actually are." She looked Asuka in the eyes, smiling gently. "It's something I've come to realise during my enourmous lifespan." She said, before she saw Asuka having what she could label as an epiphany. Quirking an eyebrow as the woman proclaimed cake. "Cake?" She asked carefully.
