Lab Entry 5

We made a breakthrough... well... I made a breakthrough. Dr. Hal is not aware of this yet, but I seemed to have stumble upon an odd property of the material that we have been working on. We've been using glass slides to examine the mass on, thus we didn't even notice the change, however, I had placed the sample upon the white counter, and noticed the dark, amethyst matter had the area touching the counter slowly fading into a white hue. I had tested this out with different surfaces, and surely, the matter was changing its form to whatever surface it was touching. We had previously deemed it an unknown hazard to physically touch the matter, however, upon picking it up... I did not see any immediate concern for my own safety. The matter felt... unlike anything I've physically touched before. It was like flesh, had a pulse, and yet, felt oddly familiar. Before I knew it, it was already seven in the morning. I had two hours to return everything I had used and made sure all the samples were in their proper order. Dr Hal does not know I was here over night. Hope he does not find my personal lab entries.
